What do you like best about Workiva?

I appreciate having a central place for my team to document discussions and testing as well as storing required evidence. It gives my team an easy way to track that they've completed all parts of the audit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workiva?

I don't like the approval process. The EWP we used to use would better track when people approved procedures or even attachments as being completed. If someone changed a procedure or workpaper post-approval, its status was returned to an un-prepared status which required people to sign off and approve again. Workiva doesn't enforce that, so it is easy to make it seem like there is appropriate preparation and approval when there isn't. The information is tracked by Workiva, so forensically it can be seen, but it isn't as obvious as I would prefer. We need a better way to update attachments, though to be fair this might be an issue with our company's configurations rather than Workiva. The initial setup was okay. It is customizable, which sounds good, but maybe isn't. We were looking for best practices and willing to change our processes. Workiva's team never offered these. They just customized it where they could to meet our existing processes. In some areas, this was fine, but they had some processes where the Workiva solution just wasn't good and it couldn’t improve.
