## Tulip Reviews
  ### 1. A powerful platform for simplifying Industry 4.0 solutions

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael G. | MES Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Tulip?**

What I like most about Tulip is how easy it is to use and edit. The platform has a clean, intuitive interface, which makes building and maintaining applications straightforward even for complex use cases. Integration with other systems is also very smooth, allowing us to connect devices and external services quickly without unnecessary complexity.

**What do you dislike about Tulip?**

One area that could be improved is the expression handling in triggers. While powerful, it can feel a bit cumbersome to use, and smarter or more user-friendly expression building would make complex logic easier to manage. Additionally, Tulip Tables could be more robust, especially when working with larger or more complex datasets.

**What problems is Tulip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tulip helps address key Industry 4.0 and digitalization challenges by making it much easier to build and adapt manufacturing applications. Traditionally, complex industrial systems are slow and difficult to develop or change, but by introducing Tulip and its connectors, we can significantly simplify this process. This allows us to integrate systems faster, respond more quickly to changing requirements, and deliver value to the shop floor with much less development effort.

  ### 2. Tulip Makes Life Easier

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zach K. | Continous Improvement Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2024

**What do you like best about Tulip?**

What I like most about the platform is the speed to which it can solve a problem. Often times someone may want a simple and quick solution to an on going head ache. An exmaple of that would be a way to collect 5S or machine inspection reports without drop box or walking the floor everyday. In less than a few hours, I can build the app, deploy it, and train users on it. This saves so much time not only for the problem at hand but even the time required for a solution.

**What do you dislike about Tulip?**

There's not a whole lot to dislike. A nice addition would be step by step youtube learning tutorials but a lot of information is already in their community, university courses, and knowledge hub.

**What problems is Tulip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It collects and organizes manufacturing KPI's for me that would otherwise need manual collection and manipulation. It gives me and my team everything we need to make quick and informed decisions to run a factory.

  ### 3. MES solution for agile companies

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael R. | Director of Production Operations, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Tulip?**

One of the best features is the ability to use the latest technology to rapidly solve challenges that are unique to our operations. Rapid development/deployment of solutions takes hours or days, everything is scalable. With Tulip we can implement the latest manufacturing methods in a small or large footprint without committing to large software packages where the investment dictates the direction. If we try something and it doesn't work, we move on to the next thing. We don't force a subpar solution because we "bought" a feature.

The results and practical application of solutions drive the development. Some solutions are long term while others are for the moment. Development of apps around your current workforce is possible, you can design the interface to match the comfort level of the users. Implementation that is customized to the user results in a much higher usage rate.

There is a vast and active community that develops solutions and features ahead of official releases. Often you can find a solution for a near identical problem that someone else has already solved. Customer service and technical help is fast and responsive. API integrations are available for many other software’s which allows you to use Tulip as a UI for all of them.

**What do you dislike about Tulip?**

Cloud based service can make it difficult to determine the source of a connection or latency problem. Is it our internal network, the internet provider or a offsite server?

**What problems is Tulip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We moved from paper-based build sheets to fully digital. Information on changes is near instantaneous to the factory floor. Quality inspection and audits have also moved to a pure digital format. Metrics and trends are now automatically collected without transcribing hundreds of records. The digital inspection/audits also allow for pics and video of defects. The visual based record improves communication to the team by several orders of magnitude.

  ### 4. Industry 4.0 made easy!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Camron S. | Manufacturing Design Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2024

**What do you like best about Tulip?**

Tulip allows you to leverage powerful applications to improve your processes. It allows you to build eDHRs, electronic work instructions, and much more to augment your processes, replace or eliminate mundane operations, automate, and connect numerous company softwares like SAP right into your applications. It eliminates tons of waste, and for us in building interactive work instructions saves, time, money, and improves quality.

For Management it allows you to easily build a visual system on your floor and gives you easy to configure dashboards that capture your information in real time allowing you to pivot quickly to changes and challenges.

We currently are in our POC phase where work and building in these awesome features has made this software so easy to impliment on our product line. We currently use it on approximately 20 work stations with interactive IO and smart tools and setup was incredibly easy.

Customer support is incredibly quick and always willing to help you solve your problem.

**What do you dislike about Tulip?**

We have had some issues with content during revisions of applications where movies or pictures do not display in the applications, which is usually solved with a quick system refresh.

**What problems is Tulip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have significant scrap and quality issues that are propegated when we dont catch it quickly. Tulip helps prevent those occurances and helps us catch it quickly.

  ### 5. Tulip is a great enabler for a Digitalization Program

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jose R. D. | Technical Product Owner, Manufacturing Applications, IT Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Tulip?**

Tulip is an intuitive, end-user-oriented, easy to use "platform to build applications", that allows quick delivery of apps in a controlled and complaint way. I like the range of use cases you can address with it, from simple analytic views to suites of apps to manage complex workflows. If there is a "green field" or "brown field" landscape in an organization, Tulip is a great enabler for a "get-rid-of-paper" Digitalization Program.

**What do you dislike about Tulip?**

The more you like the platform, the more you want to do with it and the expectations grow continiuosly. After our first global deployments, we have reached the point where we need more controls and features around full EBR-like use cases for lifescience. Tulip is working on these enhancements in their product roadmap.

**What problems is Tulip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Tulip we are doing from simple electronic logbooks to lightweight electronic batch record execution, all in a global scale.

  ### 6. MES that is robust and easily customizable to a wide range of applications

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kosi A. | Director of Integrated Analytics, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Tulip?**

Ease of customizability. Can easily integrate with other tools through api's. Great customer support

**What do you dislike about Tulip?**

Lack of built in batch record tool. Some limted functionaility with table relationships

**What problems is Tulip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

MES and work instructions for various processes

  ### 7. Tulip is a powerful tool for Manufacturing data analysis

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jovanhy C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2024

**What do you like best about Tulip?**

Tulip is a powerful, user-friendly platform in the manufacturing industry. Creating and implementing apps is as simple as can be without sacrificing advanced features. Being a logic-based programming language, the apps you create feel limitless; there is usually always a solution to every roadblock when defining what you want Tulip to do. Downloading the app for integration on stations in the work floor is quick and easy, developers can administrate stations and apps all from the same platform. The customer support from Tulip is friendly, knowledgable, and prompt. If I ever had an issue or was stuck on finding a way to program something the Tulip customer support would always get back to me with solutions to my issues.

**What do you dislike about Tulip?**

It's hard to say what is least helpful about Tulip since any issues, missing features, or bugs in the app are promptly adressed by Tulip customer support. It is an evolving platform that implements new features throughout the year.

**What problems is Tulip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tulip has helped me solve problems with data storage and analysis from manufacturing production lines. Before our team started using Tulip there was no way to show operators how they were doing throughout the day. Our team would rely on team leads reporting issues or having to explain these issues after they happened. With Tulip it became possible to see production numbers in real time and adress issues pertaining to productivity swiftly and promptly. I am also currrently leveraging Tulip to create an inventory tracking system to connect 4 departments that have been affected by unexpected shortages in inventory due to a lack of consistent communication.

  ### 8. One of the Best low code platform focusing on ShopFloor digitalization

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yokesh S. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2024

**What do you like best about Tulip?**

It's low code architecture. 80% of shopfloor's digital needs were covered. Free to add as many tables & store unlimited data that too in cloud. Automations opened up lot more possibilities with the tool. Promoting citizen app development culture impacting on building a digital mindset culture in Manufacturing facilities. Agile & DevOps inbuilt within the platform for swifter solution deployments. Customer support is great.

**What do you dislike about Tulip?**

Machine monitoring controls lack logical functionalities & as it's a complete cloud solution, data loss due to connectivity issues was not addressed within the platform. It would be nice to have a bi-directional connection & advanced Machine logic tables to meet certain MES expectations. Analytics were limited to a specific table/app & doesn't support joins or lookups.

**What problems is Tulip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Developing & deploying shopfloor applications to digitize old-school paper-based manufacturing processes into sophisticated digital systems. It's one of the best competitive alternatives to legacy MES. Generally, shopfloor digital solutions have a lower success rate on the first go & need continuous improvement to adapt the process. While the app development is faster with the low code logic, Tulip inbuilt DevOps architecture within the platform made the CI/CD faster. We were able to monitor our machines & have apps built to help the process, inherently collecting all shopfloor data which was a grey area in manufacturing for a long time. It promoted citizen development culture which made me easy to hand over solutions to the customers for future management & improvements.

  ### 9. Tulip - Flexible and Powerful Manufacturing Digitization Platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Tulip?**

The flexibility of Tulip has enabled our manufacturing facilities to remain innovative with customizeable solutions that meet their varying process types, but also allows for our central team to ensure standards around data schemas, scope, and topic of applications. It is an easy platform for people to learn, and allows for very rapid digitization of manual or paper- based processes on our plant floors. We have many facilities who have fully digitized their shops with Tulip and use it all day every day! Additionally, the support team of Tulip is exceptional - incredibly responsive, diligent with your issue, and willing to go the extra mile to find a resolution.

**What do you dislike about Tulip?**

We find the need to create a lot of custom widgets still as the platform features are growing. Some hurdles around stations and application assignment, a bit clunky for people not used to the platform.

**What problems is Tulip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When boiled down, the main business problem that we are solving with Tulip is around data collection on our shop floors, and getting that data in an efficient, understandable way to our shop floor leaders to drive their actions with data. This elimates the manual work that these leaders needed to do historically, and increases the accuracy of the data as well. This in turn equips our leaders to make better descisions, faster.

  ### 10. Tulip has expedited our development process bringing value in a short term

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2024

**What do you like best about Tulip?**

The ease of use when developing applications

**What do you dislike about Tulip?**

The analytics charts are too basic and not capable to drill down

**What problems is Tulip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Is solving the need of having multiple developers, since this tool can be used by anyone. And has empowered manufacturing with serverless solutions

  ### 11. Great

It still has limited features. But system is expanding.

**What problems is Tulip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps to develop and deploy application on the shop floor in short time.

  ### 12. Complex Apps developer on Tulip

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Pharmaceuticals | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 19, 2024

**What do you like best about Tulip?**

The tulip gives you freedom to create the apps without using code , it's completely based on GUI which allows you to create apps by simply drag and drop functionality moreover with the help version control functionality you can manage the version of each app and deploy the app to the specific domain which they called stations and there is an option to manage between multiple environments i.e. Dev , Test and Prod. You can also integrate your data from multiple sources using API functionality which will allow to have the data on realtime basis. You can also develop governance model for user access by managing the roles for users. The workflow of the apps can be very dynamic as tulip allows you to access the data through which you can design your workflow decisions accordingly moreover you can send notification to the users with conditional logics. For a very complex calculation tulip uses very basic expressions to describe the calculations easily which can help the user to develop the formula of the calculations accordingly. The logic on Tulip is strongly based on If-else condition which makes a very powerful tool

**What do you dislike about Tulip?**

The tulip might need to work on reporting functionality to get maximum benefits out of it.
And there is an area of improvement on access management to make it more dynamic.

**What problems is Tulip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tulip allows me to develop the paper to glass solution with end to end data capturing during manufacturing and packaging.
By developing the app for each stage of manufacturing which is relevant with workflow and inputs made it a comprehensive solution to capture the data during the manufacturing and packaging end to end.
With the help of the data captured during the operation it helps us to do the analysis to improve and identify the issues accordingly and a step towards digitization.

  ### 13. Satisfying way to bring legacy factories to the modern era

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 02, 2024

**What do you like best about Tulip?**

Ease of use when designing, building and deploying applications to the shop floor. As we have developed a fair few Tulip applications now, it's great to see how they easily integrate into each other. The available customer support is excellent, supporting me when i need to identify possible solutions and providing information on critical updates.
Tulip is an everyday application, meaning i am using it all the time, along with all the site's functions. The number of features available is fantastic, allowing for multiple different systems to be implemented.

**What do you dislike about Tulip?**

The implementation of Tulip systems across the site has been an issue. Mainly down to operations on site not liking digitization.

**What problems is Tulip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Collection of all data types in an easy manner allowing for more time spent doing something about problems, rather than inputting data in to excel spreadsheets. It also creates a single point for all data rather than multiple files across the network.

  ### 14. An absolutely great platform for the front line worker

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2024

**What do you like best about Tulip?**

Tulip is really focused on bringing power to the front line worker. Anyone can pick up the product and within a few hours digitize a process. If you start to feel a little constrained by the tool you can upskill and create your own custom widgets and also connect to a wide array of datasources for further data processing. Support is knowledgeable, friendly, and timely.

**What do you dislike about Tulip?**

App proliferation can be an issue. When you have a lot of citizen developers, unless you have really good communication channels you will end up with duplication of work.

**What problems is Tulip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Building out any and every app needed to support our front line workers.

  ### 15. Flexible and Dynamic Platform to Enable Problem Solving

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2024

**What do you like best about Tulip?**

Customizable to address the problem and challenge at hand. IT not required to build applications, capture data, and create visualizations.

**What do you dislike about Tulip?**

Learning curve at launch can be challenging. The product is designed to funtion without IT, but that requires resources in non-IT functions be capable and available to drive the value.

**What problems is Tulip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The platform allows for traditional ERP data to be merged with user interaction (i.e. listing a reason for a miss on the production line). This combination of information is easy for the end user and incredibly powerful to start solving problems. The benefit comes down to problem solvers (which could be anyone at any level in the organization) do not need to spend time gathering data but can instead put that same energy and time into solving the problem.

  ### 16. Great platform for digitizing processes in pharmaceutical manfucturing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aiden M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Tulip?**

Great range of support and training materials make it easy to pick up and learn app development, regular platform updates with new and improved features, and a qualified platform makes it suitable for use in a GxP environment.

**What do you dislike about Tulip?**

Solutions built in Tulip can quickly become very complex, the simpler the app design the better.

**What problems is Tulip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Tulip to digitise paper based processes such as log books, checklists and work instructions. As well as removing paper we can capture more data, anaylise it and integrate it to other systems easily.

  ### 17. Creating an app is very easy, even for people with no programming skills

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Biotechnology | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Tulip?**

The way to manage Placeholders. It's visual, you can have multiple records selected from the same table.
And because it's directly linked to Tulip tables, every update are easy to visulise.

**What do you dislike about Tulip?**

I think it's the way to program trigger.
We can't mix "any" and "all" conditions so we have to duplicate and overcomplicate trigger management. This issue is the same for querries in tulip tables

**What problems is Tulip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Due to Tulip, we can automaticaly :
- Read an OPC point with Machine (and attributes)
- Launch an associated automation and execute a list of operation

I like that it is approachable and the learning curve is not steep which makes implementation easy.

**What do you dislike about Tulip?**

There are things like instructive arrows that are missing that are low hanging fruit that would make life better.

**What problems is Tulip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to create, share, and update work instructions easily. They are also working on connectors for Netsuite and other enterpirise software that we use.

  ### 21. I like TULIP in way of how to creaste apps, manage reporting or business analytics.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lawrence James A. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 01, 2024

**What do you like best about Tulip?**

Support from Brian, Lisa and other staff specially when we have issue is the super good.

**What do you dislike about Tulip?**

License cost is not clear and per interface charge. I suggest to count this per device instead of per interface. Also the table lime query of 1000 rows which we cannot customise report based on our needs

**What problems is Tulip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Realtime data and accessible to anywhre provided you have license. OEE measurement and performance in production floor

**What do you like best about Tulip?**

App building, App Implementation, Ease of use, End User Experience

**What do you dislike about Tulip?**

Cannot undo multiple times, trying to replicate features from other software, such as Access can be cumbersome and complex to do in Tulip. The simplest feature in other softwares may be more complex to recreate in Tulip. The tables have smart capabilities, but are sometimes a nuisance to edit.

**What problems is Tulip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Digital Transformation of paper documentation. Logging and storing information manually

  ### 23. Easy to learn platform to create impactful applications with good support and lots of possibilities.

  ### 26. The future of MES is here and its name is Tulip!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** William K. | Manufacturing Execution System Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Tulip?**

When deciding on, or building, an MES solution I have worked with and tried a number of different methods and vendors. From writing my own custom solution, from the ground up, in VB6, Java, or C#. To using a ready built system supplied by some of the bigger names in the field, such as SAP Shop Floor and MS Dynamics. Along with these there are a plethora of smaller companies that have some ‘kind of’ MES system which they believe will tailor well to your situation. In my experience, none of these can compete with the power, speed, and completeness offered by Tulip Mfg. suite of MES tools. There offerings include a drag and drop, low-code, no-code solution, that delivers on that promise as well as any I have ever seen. They offer a complete solution, from interfaces to IOT and IIOT devices, to data collection and real-time SPC analytics and dashboards, to more in-depth, historical tools, as well as connectivity to Oracle and SQL Server databases, as well as to any number of ERP systems. There solutions allows you develop an operator interface that both captures all of the information you might need or want, but also provides a good experience to that operator. Which often means the difference between if they will use the MES tool or not. Sure, maybe I can get something more customized by doing it myself, but it would take at least 4 times as long. This is the future of most MES projects, in my experience, assessment, and opinion. There customer support and willingness to work with you, and create a solution and tools for your needs is second to none!

**What do you dislike about Tulip?**

Wish that they had more Javascript libraries that were supported in there 'Custom Widgets' tool.

**What problems is Tulip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Manufacturing instructions, Data Capture, Data Analysis, SPC, connectivity to ERP systems and OPC UA devices.

  ### 27. Great platform for Operator Interface

**What do you like best about Tulip?**

The interface is easy to configure using a low-code platform. It allows automating a lot of the repetetive user tasks, specifically as deployed on the shop floor, easily integrates work instructions and other learning material into the workflow and poka-yoke the operator responses to get more data consistency. It has a great interface with node-RED that facilitates communication with process equipment in addition to the build in functionality.

**What do you dislike about Tulip?**

Tulip was created for a simple user flow, simple logic and interface. It does not work well if your application needs to do complex data manipulation and data transformation to interface with other systems.

**What problems is Tulip solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Removes the operator on the floor from using complex MRP system and shows them only the data they need in a simple to follow process. Allows integration of function and work instruction to ensure successful completion even during the training phase of new operators.

**What do you like best about Tulip?**

The product has given us great benefits thanks to the data capture provided by the information system. They are astros process allowing to manage resources in an adequate efficient and effective way. On the other hand, it allows a synthesis of the revision control system by station allowing to build an efficient production system. The product is quite good, especially we like its ability to quickly obtain an application to use within our work team and thus allow us to replace the traditional manual things with a more complex digital system. The constant evolution that this software offers also gives us the security of knowing that we will always have a better version than the previous one.

**What do you dislike about Tulip?**

Some product that has a good ability to integrate with others and makes integration with ERP systems a bit bad, thus leaving a lot to be desired in this area. Apart from that, it does not behave very well, it is a good, fairly solid structure with a very good ease of use that has allowed us to improve greatly.

**Recommendations to others considering Tulip:**

Depending on the type of processes that they put prisoner and the needs to improve the different systems, the software may be of greater or lesser efficiency, however it is worth risking a product of excellent quality.
