"Solid time tracking but confusing billing and buggy productivity settings"
What do you like best about Time Doctor?

The core features for time tracking are solid and reliable. It does a good job of tracking user activity and providing insights into how time is spent. The productivity rating list, in concept, is very useful because it lets you classify websites as productive or unproductive, which can help with better team oversight. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Time Doctor?

The billing system is confusing and frustrating. A discount was initially offered but removed without any prior notice. The updated pricing mechanism quickly charges the credit card as soon as a user is added, even if that user is mistakenly added and removed within minutes. It is unclear how these charges are adjusted or credited back, which creates uncertainty. On top of that, the productivity rating feature glitches frequently in Chrome. Unless you hard refresh the page, it often fails to register updates, which slows down the process of managing website classifications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Mina Park of Time Doctor

Hi Abid,

Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review. We’re glad to hear the core time-tracking features and productivity insights are working well for your team. It’s great to know these tools are helping you maintain visibility, accountability, and trust across a distributed workforce.

We also want to acknowledge the frustrations you raised around billing and the productivity rating experience in Chrome. Your feedback is valid, and we’re sorry for the inconvenience it caused. The billing workflow should feel predictable and transparent, and we understand how unexpected charges or unclear credits can create uncertainty. We’ll be reviewing this with our billing and product teams to help make this smoother.

If you’re open to it, we’d appreciate the chance to look into your specific billing situation and ensure everything is corrected. Please reach out to our support team, and we’ll take care of it.

Thank you again for the honest feedback. It helps us keep improving and build a better experience for you and the teams who rely on Time Doctor every day.

"A Game-Changer for Global Team Management"
What do you like best about Time Doctor?

I find Time Doctor to be an absolute game changer for managing job costing and payroll for my international remote team. Its ability to streamline project costings and payroll makes it incredibly easy and accurate, which is essential for anyone running a global team like mine. I love how everything is brought together seamlessly in such a reliable manner. The software is easy to use, both for my team and for me as the admin, which significantly benefits us in managing tasks effectively. Its intuitive interface simplifies the onboarding process for my team members, making the transition smooth and hassle-free. Additionally, the integration with my task manager and payroll service allows for a more streamlined and easy workflow. The initial setup of Time Doctor was super easy as well, and these features together make it invaluable to me and my team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Time Doctor?

I dislike the integration with ClickUp being buggy. The integration stops frequently, forcing us to switch to manual job costing. While this is an acceptable alternative, it is not as efficient as having the integration work seamlessly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Boosted Team Efficiency and Focus, Overcame Initial Trust Issues"
What do you like best about Time Doctor?

This tool helps me to manage my time better, and helps me to manage my teams time better. Since I have started using this tool I am working fewer hours, but more efficiently and focused. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Time Doctor?

No downsides as far as I can see, the team were mistrustful of the tool when we started, believing they were being watched by 'big brother' but now enjoy it as a way to manage their time more efficiently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Mina Park of Time Doctor

Hi there,

Thank you for taking the time to share such a thoughtful review. We’re really glad to hear Time Doctor has helped you work fewer hours while staying focused and productive. That kind of shift in work–life balance is exactly what we aim to support.

It’s also great to hear your team’s experience has evolved. It’s common for people to feel unsure at first, especially when adopting new visibility tools. We’re happy they now see it as a way to manage their time better, not as something intrusive. Building trust is a big part of how teams get the most out of Time Doctor, and your journey reflects that perfectly.

Your note about understanding where time goes and making clearer decisions about delegation and priorities is a powerful example of the value of transparent data. The fact that it’s helping you manage a remote team more confidently is even better.

If you ever have suggestions or ideas that would make Time Doctor even more supportive for you and your team, we’d love to hear them.

Thanks again for being part of the Time Doctor community.

"Misleading, overcharged & not refunding"
What do you like best about Time Doctor?

I like the screenshot feature in Time Doctor, as it enables me to verify whether remote staff are actually working on their assigned tasks or not. The automatic time and app tracking is good too. Their terrible billing (misleading, overcharging, no refund) and terrible customer support undoes all that is good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Time Doctor?

I added 1 user on the monthly basic plan, then it charged me for all 4 users for the annual plan. I disputed it straight away and they refused to refund and move back to monthly payments. Their billing is misleading, they dont have cooling off periods or refunds even when they mislead the customer into the wrong plan. Many also had bad 'scam'-like experiences Time Doctor. Do not use Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Mina Park of Time Doctor

Hi Simon, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I’m sorry to hear about the frustration you experienced with your plan change and billing. That’s never the experience we want anyone to have.

We’ve reviewed your case internally and can confirm that your refund has now been fully processed. Our billing and development teams have also completed a full audit to ensure there were no technical issues involved. While the plan change was made from within the account, we understand how easy it can be to select the wrong option, and we’re glad we could resolve this quickly for you.

If there’s anything else you need or if you’d like help reviewing your current setup to avoid any future confusion, we’re here to help.

Thank you again for your feedback, it helps us improve.

"Not a way to improve productivity"
What do you like best about Time Doctor?

The software itself is well made, support is fast and reliable. They have apps, extensions and all kinds of different ways for you to use it, which is good i guess to have options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Time Doctor?

I think its fine, I just dont agree and do not like its purpose. I still think it doesnt help employees to be productive, it's a way of micromanagement that i do not agree with. If you're on the employer side, I also think it'd be time consuming and pointless to check on each employee... i'd say its cheaper to hire people you trust and prove theyre productive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Laura Ramsay of Time Doctor

Hi Sabrina,

Thank you for sharing your perspective and for recognizing the quality of our software and support. We understand that not everyone agrees with the concept of productivity tools like Time Doctor, and we respect your point of view.

Our intention is not to enable micromanagement, but rather to provide transparency and insights that can help teams build trust, support fair pay, and work more effectively — especially in remote and distributed environments. Many organizations use Time Doctor as a way to empower employees to showcase their work and balance accountability with flexibility.

We appreciate your honest feedback, as it helps us continue the conversation about how productivity tools can best serve both employers and employees.

"Impactful insights for remote teams"
What do you like best about Time Doctor?

Time Doctor features like inputting a schedule, setting up management teams, and monitoring productivity with screenshots and keystrokes are incredibly helpful for fully remote teams. Our team has been remote since before Covid-19 hit, and we have utilized Time Doctor to help manage our team, payroll, and reporting for years. It is easy to put in schedules. Customer support is responsive and helpful. The toolbar stays open during the workday, or can be hidden if necessary. We are able to track specific projects and tasks on a daily basis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Time Doctor?

The only downside is that in order for us to upgrade to the newer version we would have to start all over. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Laura Ramsay of Time Doctor

Thank you so much for your thoughtful review and for sharing how Time Doctor supports your remote team! We’re thrilled to hear our scheduling, productivity, and reporting features have been valuable for you over the years.

We appreciate your feedback about the upgrade process and understand how starting over can be a concern. Our team is always looking for ways to make transitions smoother and your input helps us improve.

"Time Doctor user review"
What do you like best about Time Doctor?

Useful for managers to assign tasks and see the progress, status, integrating fine with QA process flow. This is very good to monitor TMs activities and see how many times the internet was dropped Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Time Doctor?

TMs feel the monitoring feature are leading the micromanagement. User should be able to provide customize level access and also when it runs on the system then it slow down the system overall performance Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Laura Ramsay of Time Doctor

Hi Murtuza,

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re glad to hear Time Doctor has been useful in task assignment, tracking progress, and supporting your QA processes.

We understand your concern around micromanagement — in our experience, this usually depends on how the tool is implemented within a team. Many organizations use Time Doctor to empower employees and promote transparency rather than micromanagement, and we provide flexibility to support different approaches.

Regarding system performance, this isn’t something we typically see with Time Doctor, so it may have been an isolated issue. Our support team is always happy to help troubleshoot if it comes up again.

We appreciate your insights, as they help us continue to improve and ensure the best possible experience for all users.

"It has slowly improved in how fast it runs, it how quickly you can edit time, and although it's still a controversial tool for micro-managing, it has tons of features to help all styles of time and people management."
What do you like best about Time Doctor?

You can better visualize the time you've accumulated overall but also in certain tasks. Its integration with browsers and other apps is also smoother. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Time Doctor?

It should allow you to edit, review reports, and perform all other functions within the app instead of merely redirecting you to the browser page for those tasks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Laura Ramsay of Time Doctor

Hi Jose,

Thank you for sharing your thoughtful review! We’re glad to hear that Time Doctor has improved in speed and continues to help you visualize time across tasks, as well as integrate smoothly with browsers and apps.

We understand the concerns around micromanagement — in our experience, this really comes down to how the tool is implemented. Many teams use Time Doctor to promote transparency and fairness, especially when it comes to remote work and accurate pay, rather than for micromanagement.

We also appreciate your suggestions for how the experience could be improved further. Feedback like this helps guide our ongoing efforts to make Time Doctor even more useful for all types of teams.

"Great software for tracking, productivity insights, and team management features."
What do you like best about Time Doctor?

Time doctor is a great program to stay in control of your employees and ensure they are being productive. I like how easy to use the program is and how I can track each employee as a whole or individual. It also helps notify use when an employee is going to a website that should not be used during work hours. Customer support is always there to help when needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Time Doctor?

The only thing I don’t like about Time Doctor is how it tracks paid breaks. Our employees do not need to take the full 15min or 30min break at an exact time or interval. So for example an employee takes a 5min break but then wants to take another 5min the time resets for 15min and doesn't start countdown from the previous remaining time of the break.
