What is Sprout Social, and what problem is it built to solve?

It is an AI-powered social intelligence platform that turns real-time social media signals into actionable insights. Its solutions include publishing and engagement, customer care, influencer marketing, advocacy, and predictive media intelligence across major social networks and digital platforms.

What languages does Sprout Social support?

It supports 5 languages: English, French, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish.

What company sizes and industries is Sprout Social the best fit for?

Sprout Social is used by positive reviewers across small businesses, mid-market organizations, and enterprises, with especially visible use in marketing and communications, entertainment, nonprofits, and healthcare and education. The most represented segments include:
  • Small businesses: Organizations with 50 or fewer employees.

  • Enterprise: Organizations with more than 1,000 employees.
  • Marketing and communications: Marketing and advertising, and public relations and communications.
  • Entertainment and nonprofits: Entertainment and nonprofit organizations.
  • Healthcare and education: Healthcare and higher education organizations.

How long does it take to implement Sprout Social across a team?

Implementation timelines range from less than a day to several months, with under a month the most common reported range. Here’s how the reported timelines compare:
Time to go live Relative frequency
Less than 1 month Most common
1–3 months Also frequently reported
Less than 1 day Reported regularly
3–6 months or longer Less common

What customer support options does Sprout Social provide, and how do users find the overall support experience?

Support is available through chat, email/help desk, and phone, including 24/7 live-rep support. The experience can be very helpful, particularly during onboarding and when teams need hands-on troubleshooting, though responsiveness is not consistent: some users describe quick, knowledgeable help, while others have encountered slow replies or difficulty reaching a live person.

What is the experience like for teams switching to Sprout Social from another tool?

Switching to Sprout Social has often meant moving from separate or less specialized tools to a more centralized workflow for publishing, engagement, and reporting. Teams coming from social media suites, scheduling tools, and broader marketing platforms describe choosing it for easier multi-account management, stronger analytics, more flexible publishing, or better value. The transition is often straightforward, with guided onboarding helping teams connect accounts and get started, though larger or more complex setups can take more effort.

What tools and platforms does Sprout Social integrate with, and how do these integrations help users get more value from the product?

The product offers 98 integrations, including social platforms and tools for content, marketing, analytics, and customer care. Examples named by users include:
  • Social platforms: Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube.
  • Content and marketing: Canva, Bitly, Shopify, and HubSpot.
  • Work management and customer care: Asana, Salesforce, and Zendesk.
  • Analytics and business profiles: Google Analytics and Google Business Profile.
These connections help teams coordinate social publishing and monitoring alongside related content, reporting, and customer workflows, with less need to move between separate tools.

What features or capabilities could make Sprout Social even more useful?

The most useful improvements would make reporting more adaptable, publishing more consistent with each social platform’s capabilities, and high-volume workflows easier to manage. Recurring requests include:
  • More flexible reporting: Add deeper customization, clearer comparisons, and more complete platform-specific metrics so teams can build reports around their needs.
  • Broader publishing support: Expand support for platform-specific formats and actions, including Stories, Reels, audio, tagging, and threaded posts.
  • More reliable connections and publishing: Make account reconnection smoother and provide clearer explanations when posts fail to publish.
  • Smoother bulk and inbox workflows: Make it easier to edit or organize many drafts and give teams more control over inbox views, filters, and notifications.

How useful do Sprout Social users find its AI features in everyday use?

AI is useful for speeding up writing and summarizing information, but its output can need review for accuracy, relevance, and brand voice. Users describe applying it to tasks such as:
  • Content assistance: Drafting or refining captions and generating image alt text; the suggestions can provide a helpful starting point but may need editing.
  • Reporting and insights: Summarizing reports, comparing performance, and finding key takeaways; these tools can save time, though users sometimes need to verify the results.
  • Scheduling and listening: Getting suggested posting times and summaries of social conversations; usefulness varies, and sentiment or recommendations may need correction.

"Clean UI/UX, Excellent Filtering, and Top-Tier Support"
4/5
What do you like best about Sprout Social?

Sprouts’ UI/UX is extremely clean and easy for our team to navigate. The case feature, in particular, has been very helpful, and the filtering system is excellent. Integrations with multiple platforms help us identify key issues early and monitor customer sentiment. Performance has been great, with little to no delays or downtime. Support and onboarding were top tier and helped ensure we maximize our ROI. While we don’t use all of the AI features, tools like AI translate are extremely useful for our global company. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sprout Social?

Sprouts’ note-taking system leaves a lot to be desired. Notes can be difficult to find—for example, you have to open the entire user tree to see active notes, or you have to use the Case system, which our team doesn’t use except for VIP users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Max Pete of Sprout Social

Thank you for sharing such thoughtful feedback! We’re glad Sprout’s intuitive interface, filtering, integrations, and reliable performance help your team monitor sentiment and catch issues early. It’s great to hear onboarding, support, and AI Translate have added value for your global team. We appreciate your feedback about making notes easier to find and will share it with our product team.

"Easy-to-Use Reporting for Multi-Location Insights, Plus Seamless Integrations"
4/5
What do you like best about Sprout Social?

By far the reporting. Specifically, it is so helpful for our business model (70 individual locations all with unique names) to be able to select a collection of locations, all locations, or individual locations to break down reports and metrics this way. I love that the User Experience with the reporting is laid out in a way that is extremely easy for not just myself to read, but supervisors that are less savvy with social media. Integrating Facebook, Instagram, and Google was very seamless and is always easy to reconnect when they are disconnected. I love their new Trellis AI feature, as well, that helps me to summarize reports very quickly and communicate metrics to upper management more effectively. Overall, the platform is very easy to navigate, and I have never had issues with performance or login, it seems to function well! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sprout Social?

We haven't been able to figure out how to integrate TikTok with our Sprout Social account, that has been kind of bumpy. Also, they used to have dedicated Customer Support agents assigned to their accounts but it is now a separate additional cost, which is very unfortunate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Max Pete of Sprout Social

Thank you for sharing such thoughtful feedback! We’re delighted that Sprout’s reporting makes it easy to compare performance across your 70 locations and share insights with your team. It’s also great to hear that Trellis AI and your integrations are helping you communicate social’s impact. We’re sorry TikTok setup has been bumpy and understand your disappointment about dedicated support now being an additional cost. We appreciate you choosing Sprout Social.

"Streamlined Collaboration & Workflow Efficiency for Cross-Functional Social Management"
5/5
What do you like best about Sprout Social?

Collaboration & Workflow Efficiency

We appreciate features like shared content calendars, approval workflows, task assignments, and simplified team coordination, all of which streamline cross‑functional social management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sprout Social?

Some features feel a bit clunky, and certain workflows take more steps than they should. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Mira Sekhon of Sprout Social

Thank you for sharing your feedback about Sprout Social. We're happy to hear that the collaboration and workflow efficiency features are benefiting your cross-functional social management. "A Must-Have for Social Media Management"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sprout Social?

I love Sprout Social for its ability to streamline and organize all our social media management clients on a single platform, which provides my team with exceptional collaboration capabilities and efficiency. The ability to monitor social inboxes in one place is invaluable, as it eliminates the need for constant communication with clients regarding two-factor authentication codes, thus preventing unnecessary disruptions. The Smart Inbox feature is particularly a game-changer; it offers unparalleled visibility and collaborative space, which are critical for offering page monitoring services to our clients. I also appreciate how Sprout Social integrates all client social channels, saving us from having to log into each platform natively, a feature that dramatically enhances our productivity by allowing us to work uninterrupted. The influencer platform has significantly reduced the anxiety around managing end-to-end influencer campaigns, holding all necessary tools from research to proposal writing within the platform. Additionally, the initial setup of Sprout Social was impressively straightforward and efficient, contributing to one of the most seamless tool migrations we’ve ever experienced. The support from the Sprout team during the transition was outstanding, allowing us to complete the full migration in less than a month without any noticeable impact on our clients. Overall, my team and I hold Sprout Social in high regard, evident from our extensive seven-year experience with no other platform meeting our standards as Sprout Social does. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sprout Social?

I think Sprout Social could benefit from expanding its AI capabilities specifically for content creation purposes, as this would significantly enhance the platform's utility. Additionally, the current lack of integrations with tools like MailChimp or Constant Contact is a limitation. With these integrations, we could streamline our processes further and potentially forego the need for an independent reporting service, consolidating all our work on Sprout Social. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Mira Sekhon of Sprout Social

We're delighted to hear that Sprout Social has been a game-changer for your social media management needs, offering unparalleled visibility, collaborative space, and seamless integration of client social channels. We understand the importance of expanding our AI capabilities and integrating with other tools, and we will certainly consider your feedback for future enhancements. Thank you for your continued support and valuable input.

"Sprout Social Centralizes Multi-Brand Management with Strong Analytics"
5/5
What do you like best about Sprout Social?

What I like most about Sprout Social is that it centralizes all of our social media accounts in one platform. This makes it much easier to manage content, schedule posts, monitor engagement, and analyze performance across multiple brands and channels. I also really value the reporting and analytics tools, since they help me spot opportunities, track results, and make more informed strategic decisions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sprout Social?

Managing a large number of social media accounts (100+) can be challenging at times. I think Sprout Social could improve its account organization and filtering features so it’s easier to create, manage, and navigate brand-specific groups. More flexible customization options would also help streamline workflows and make multi-brand management more efficient overall. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Max Pete of Sprout Social

It’s great to hear Sprout Social is helping your teams manage publishing, engagement, and reporting across so many accounts. We understand that navigating 100+ profiles can be challenging, and your suggestions for more flexible brand grouping and customization are valuable. Thanks for helping us improve.

"Effortless Social Media Management with Powerful Analytics"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Sprout Social?

I really like how easy Sprout Social is to use - everything feels well organised and intuitive. Scheduling posts across different platforms is simple, and it saves a huge amount of time. The analytics are another highlight; they’re clear, detailed, and genuinely useful for understanding what’s working. It’s also great for teamwork - you can plan, review, and approve content all in one place without endless email chains. Overall, it just makes managing social media feel more streamlined and less stressful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sprout Social?

Honestly, there’s not much to dislike! It can be a bit expensive compared to some other tools, especially for smaller teams. But overall, the positives far outweigh the negatives - it’s a really solid platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Mira Sekhon of Sprout Social

"User-Friendly Interface with Straightforward Publishing and Scheduling"
4/5
What do you like best about Sprout Social?

Sprout has a great, very user-friendly interface, and publishing/scheduling is straightforward. I also like that I can jump to the publishing tab with the click of a button, “n.” Since I manage Glassdoor for my company, I really appreciate having easy access to all of our company reviews in one place, along with helpful data on review volume. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sprout Social?

I wish there were a way to see carousel previews in the post performance tab. I post a lot of carousels, and when I’m browsing through my posts, it’s not easy to identify the content I’m looking for when no preview is available. I also wish there were more reports available for Glassdoor, such as reports based on CEO rating evaluations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Max Pete of Sprout Social

Thanks for sharing your experience! We’re glad Sprout’s intuitive interface, easy scheduling, and centralized Glassdoor reviews help you stay organized and save time. We appreciate your feedback about carousel previews and additional Glassdoor reporting, including CEO ratings, and will share it with our team.

"Sprout: All-In-One"
4/5
What do you like best about Sprout Social?

The reporting is the most useful piece for me. I appreciate is how easy it is to compare performance across multiple platforms at once, without having to pull everything manually. It allows me to quickly dig into which posts are driving changes, identify patterns, and build a more meaningful story when I report on results.

Clients don't just want a spreadsheet full of numbers. They want to know what's working, what's not, and what we're doing about it. Sprout's reporting gives me more time to focus on that part of the job, which is where the real value is. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sprout Social?

The creative process could use some work. Content inspiration and mocking up posts feels pretty limited compared to some other social tools.

I'd love to be able to explore trending content or competitor posts for inspiration. Right now, a lot of that creative planning has to happen outside of Sprout. This could be an AI feature opportunity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Max Pete of Sprout Social

It’s great to hear that Sprout helps your agency manage multiple client accounts and bring performance insights together in one place. We understand that creative inspiration and post mockups are important parts of the workflow, too. Thanks for highlighting opportunities like trending content, competitor research, and AI support.

"Streamlined Approval Workflows, Scheduling, and Reporting in One Place"
5/5
What do you like best about Sprout Social?

The approval workflow has been incredibly helpful for our team, allowing us to eliminate separate planning spreadsheets and approval processes across multiple platforms by bringing everything into one place. The different scheduling views have also improved how we plan and coordinate content across our office. With multiple program leads contributing to a shared social media presence, it's now much easier to identify opportunities for campaigns, coordinate launches, and plan content rollouts.

Since we promote several programs through a single social media account, the reporting features have been particularly valuable. They make it easy to generate program-specific reports while still monitoring overall account performance and key performance indicators (KPIs). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sprout Social?

The only thing that would improve our experience is the ability to include some of the interactive elements from "Story" posting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Max Pete of Sprout Social

Thank you for sharing how Sprout Social has helped bring your planning, approvals, scheduling, and reporting together. We’re glad the shared visibility has made it easier for program leads to coordinate campaigns and that you’re seeing growth in content output and Instagram engagement. We appreciate your feedback about interactive Story elements and will share it with our team.

"Excellent Platform for Streamlined Social Media Management"
5/5
What do you like best about Sprout Social?

Sprout Social has been an invaluable tool for managing our social media presence across multiple platforms. The interface is intuitive, and the scheduling features allow our team to plan and publish content efficiently. We especially value the detailed analytics and reporting tools, which provide actionable insights that help guide our strategy and improve engagement.

The collaboration and approval workflows make team communication seamless, ensuring our content stays consistent and on-brand. Additionally, Sprout’s customer support team has been responsive and knowledgeable whenever assistance is needed.

Overall, Sprout Social has enhanced our productivity, organization, and visibility — an excellent choice for any business looking to manage social media effectively and strategically. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sprout Social?

One area for improvement would be expanding customization options in reporting dashboards. Having more flexibility to tailor reports by campaign or time frame would make insights even more actionable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
