What is Split?

Split’s Feature Delivery Platform pairs the speed and reliability of feature flags with data to measure the impact of every feature. Engineering teams at Twilio, Salesforce, and WePay use Split to: * Reduce software development cycle time * Mitigate release risk * Create a data-driven culture to maximize impact Split brings together everything an engineering team needs to successfully roll out new features into production. It's built on an enterprise-grade platform that prioritizes data privacy, ensures fault tolerance, and always keeps features in sync * Feature flags free you to deploy when you want, gradually roll out when you’re ready, and even dynamically adjust in prod * Combine feature flags with ops data to detect release issues, identify the feature, and kill it instantly * Turn more of your ideas into successful features based on measurable impact from statistically rigorous A/B tests

What do you like best?

Product, team, support.

If you need a good tool for feature flags/toggles and/or if you need a tool to do A/B testing, try Split.io out. You will never look back. I only experienced this level of quality, support, and dedication from Looker people, so far. :) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Nothing in particular. It's not cheap, but if you want quality you will need to pay for it. And it is definitely not orders of magnitude off from their competitor products. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Feature toggles, A/B testing. We realized their willingness to have a call with us and guide us is irreplaceable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Really useful product, their SDKs are really great and you can use them to get started with feature flags and AB testing really quickly. Their team iterates on the product constantly, asking and working from your feedback. Really great people. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Their support for server-side React frameworks is poor. We were working on a Next.js app and it was really a pain to get the AB tests working. It is best to stick with classic use-cases of using their SDKs in Python, vanilla JS or Golang. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We started our experimentation culture and did a bunch of AB tests. They make the art of statistical testing easy. Their feature flagging is really cool as well. They have some really neat features which we haven't had a chance to try but are still great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

One of the best parts about Split was the ability to control our roll outs. Meaning, we could slow play the roll outs and only push 25% out. Also, as the title reads, their A/B testing was an absolute cakewalk. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

I would love to see pricing reviewed as I don't think they're incredibly competitive there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Similar to what others have said, mostly A/B testing, mixed with a few flags here and there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Being able to do incremental rollouts to small percentages of users gives us extra confidence when releasing new features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Nothing to complain about since getting it all set up and I'm sure there's features I haven't discovered yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Before using split, to turn features on/off we would have to redeploy, now it can happen instantaneously which has all kinds of benefits. It's much easier to coordinate wider releases with toggles, helps us get code into production quicker, and allows us to run clear & simple AB / multi-variant tests. What do you like best?

I love that it has the ability to set up different outcomes on different environments - I can have my dev environment always return option A for testing purposes, while in production it is set up to return 50% A 50% B for example. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Sometimes it takes a while for values to show up in the dashboard

I also don't like the sidebar navigation to find different experiments Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Mostly A/B testing, sometimes we use it for feature flagging Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Compared to my company's previous way of toggling features, Split is much more convenient and easy to implement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Some of the terminologies were a little hard for me to understand at first, but I'm starting to get the hang of it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

My company is striving to attain true CI/CD, and separate deployment from release. It's great to be able to deploy code without actually releasing the feature until we're ready, offering plenty of time for quality checks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

It was very easy to get up and running with split with just a basic understanding of feature flags. I didn't have to "know" split - everything was fairly intuitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

I wish there was some better tooling with their python API to make workflows more seamless. They went with a pretty free-form approach, which is nice, but we had to add a lot of our own tooling to make the "new feature", "test", "remove feature flag" flow work out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Putting new features behind feature flags. We have more confidence rolling out features into production knowing that we can safely test features in production before rolling them out to the rest of our users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

SAAS solution that is simple to integrate and provides easy way to do A/B testing and ramp users onto a new feature Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Supporting legacy languages like PHP requires some additional workarounds. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

When we develop a new feature in our product we always wrap it in split so that we can do a gradual rollout and measure the success of the feature on a small set of users before rolling it out in front of everyone.

Killing or disabling a feature is as easy as pressing a button. Without split, we have to do a new deployment and that used to take hours. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
