What is Optimizely Agentic Experimentation, and what problem is it built to solve?

Optimizely Web Experimentation is used to test changes to websites and compare how different versions perform. It helps teams make website and customer-experience decisions using experiment results rather than guesswork.

What company sizes and industries is Optimizely Agentic Experimentation the best fit for?

Positive experiences span several company sizes and industries, with the strongest presence in mid-market and enterprise organizations. Small businesses are represented as well.
  • Mid-market: Teams at companies with 51–1,000 employees.
  • Enterprise: Teams at companies with more than 1,000 employees.
  • Small business: Teams at companies with 50 or fewer employees.
  • Industries: Information technology and software, retail, financial services, and marketing and advertising are recurring areas of use.

How long does it take to implement Optimizely Agentic Experimentation across a team?

Implementation timelines vary with the technical environment and the complexity of the setup, but getting live in under a month is the most common pattern. Some teams report taking longer, particularly when implementation involves more involved technical work.
Time to go live Relative frequency
Under 1 month Most common
1–3 months Also reported regularly
3–6 months or longer Less common

What customer support options does Optimizely Agentic Experimentation provide, and how do users find the overall support experience?

The support experience can be helpful and responsive, especially when teams need guidance with onboarding or experiment setup, though responsiveness is not consistent across every experience. Support is most useful when teams need help matching their testing needs to the platform; delays and limited ongoing account guidance can be frustrating.

What is the experience like for teams switching to Optimizely Agentic Experimentation from another tool?

Switching to Optimizely Web Experimentation can bring more flexibility for running and scaling experiments, but the transition may involve a learning curve and some adjustment to implementation workflows. The prior tools mentioned include Google Optimize, VWO, Monetate, Adobe Target, and Oracle Maxymiser, as well as other experimentation platforms. Teams describe seeking more advanced testing, greater control over custom-code experiments, or a smoother workflow; the experience after moving ranges from an easy migration to a period of getting used to a new interface and setup.

What tools and platforms does Optimizely Agentic Experimentation integrate with, and how do these integrations help users get more value from the product?

Optimizely Web Experimentation offers 3 listed integrations. These connections can help bring experimentation into a broader set of analytics, product-data, and commerce workflows.
  • Digital experience analytics: Fullstory.
  • ERP: Infor CloudSuites (M3).
  • Product information management: Inriver.
In day-to-day work, integrations are most useful when teams want experiment activity and results to fit alongside the systems they already use for analysis and managing digital experiences.

What features or capabilities could make Optimizely Agentic Experimentation even more useful?

Teams would find Optimizely Web Experimentation more useful with clearer, more flexible analysis and smoother ways to build, test, and manage experiments. Recurring improvement requests include:
  • Reporting and metrics: Make reports more customizable, support more detailed segmentation, and make it easier to combine and share results.
  • Visual editing: Expand no-code editing and templates so more changes can be made without custom development.
  • Preview and QA: Make previews more reliable and provide stronger tools for checking and troubleshooting experiments.
  • Experiment management: Improve ways to organize tests, collaborate across teams, and avoid conflicts between overlapping experiments.

"Custom Code Editor and Dev Agent Greatly Boost Experiment Velocity"
5/5
What do you like best about Optimizely Agentic Experimentation?

The most helpful feature of Web Experimentation is the custom code editor. Our landing pages have numerous dynamic content elements, so being able to update the CSS and JavaScript directly to account for different scenarios users will see is extremely beneficial. The Dev Agent has also increased experiment velocity greatly Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Optimizely Agentic Experimentation?

The downside of using Web Experimentation is similar to my favorite part - in order to increase experimentation velocity, you might have to use very complex custom code to reduce the number of total experiments created. For example, if I'm launching the same experiment on 3 different brands that have 3 different color schemes, fonts, images, etc., I either need to create 3 different experiments or write custom code to account for those brand themes. "Intuitive Visual Editor Enhances and Simplifies A/B Testing"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Optimizely Agentic Experimentation?

I mainly like the ease of use of Optimizely Web Experimentation. The visual editor is particularly appealing as it allows us to visually plug and play, making updates on landing pages much faster compared to coding. The initial setup was straightforward due to the instructions provided for implementation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Optimizely Agentic Experimentation?

The visual editor can be challenging from time to time, especially when previewing updates in real time. It can be tricky based on the type of updates we're doing, and sometimes it doesn't show things correctly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Describe the project or task Optimizely Agentic Experimentation helped with:

Optimizely's AI-driven tools, like Opal, simplify the experimentation process, reducing the need for manual intervention and allowing for more efficient use of resources. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Optimizely Agentic Experimentation?

I like that Optimizely built us an AI agent to help make the testing and experimentation easier. It helps to make experimentation easier without adding resources. It brings the hypothesis together as well as the various items to test. It brings it all together very easily to implement the test. "Quick, Lag-Free Edits with Helpful Visual Feedback"
4/5
What do you like best about Optimizely Agentic Experimentation?

The ability to make quick and easy adjustments to client sites as needed. I love the integration of the visual window alongside the code editor as it gives direct visual feedback on what changes are being made! It has almost no lag time on making edits which is amazing in today's fast-paced environment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Optimizely Agentic Experimentation?

I know this doesn't really fit the model but it would be nice to have a map connection outside of having Opal, as the Opal pricing has looked slightly pricey to our company as we have been looking around at options for AI integration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless A/B Testing with Easy Setup"
4/5
What do you like best about Optimizely Agentic Experimentation?

I use Optimizely Web Experimentation for A/B testing. I found it was easy to integrate, and the web interface is really self-intuitive. The APIs are well designed, which saves development time and lets us launch experiments fast. The automatic customer distinction and data management features are excellent, providing valuable insights. The intuitive interface also allows non-technical team members to set up and monitor tests independently, significantly speeding up our decision-making process. Plus, the integration with shared libraries was straightforward, only requiring adding a dependency and two lines of code for each project. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Optimizely Agentic Experimentation?

The reporting and analytic dashboards could be more detailed and customizable. More granular segmentation options in reports, like filtering results by device, location, user behavior, type etc. Exporting raw data could be more easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fast, Flexible, and Developer-Friendly Experimentation Platform"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Optimizely Agentic Experimentation?

I really like how quick and simple it is to test new ideas without needing a full deployment cycle. As a developer, I can easily implement experiments directly in code and see the impact almost instantly. The platform’s flexibility allows us to update or replace page elements, try new layouts, or inject components on specific pages without disturbing production code. It’s reliable, intuitive, and fits smoothly into our existing workflow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Optimizely Agentic Experimentation?

There isn’t much to dislike, but since it’s a client-side tool, there’s a small delay before the experiment changes appear on the page. While the no-code options are great for marketers, they’re somewhat limited in what they can achieve compared to code-based experiments. Still, for developers, the overall experience is smooth, stable, and easy to manage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
