What is SailPoint, and what problem is it built to solve?

SailPoint provides identity governance solutions that help organizations manage who has access to which systems and data. It is built to address complex security and compliance requirements and help keep IT environments under control.

What languages does SailPoint support?

SailPoint supports 21 languages, including Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Czech, Danish, English, and others.

What company sizes and industries is SailPoint the best fit for?

SailPoint’s strongest fit appears to be larger organizations, with positive users also represented across several industries. The clearest company-size concentration is among enterprise organizations.

How long does it take to implement SailPoint across a team?

Go-live most commonly takes 3–6 months, though implementation timelines vary. Teams also report both shorter and longer rollouts.

What customer support options does SailPoint provide, and how do users find the overall support experience?

SailPoint provides 24/7 live-rep support, along with email/help desk, phone support, FAQs/forum, and a knowledge base. The support experience is mixed: users value knowledgeable staff and responsive customer success contacts, while others describe slow resolutions, difficult escalations, and reliance on paid professional services.

What is the experience like for teams switching to SailPoint from another tool?

Teams have moved to SailPoint from older or less capable identity and access tools, including Oracle, One Identity, and OpenText NetIQ products. The move has been driven by gaps in governance, access reviews, scalability, or modernization needs; SailPoint has provided stronger lifecycle automation, access certification, and visibility, though complex environments can still require a carefully managed transition.

What tools and platforms does SailPoint integrate with, and how do these integrations help users get more value from the product?

SailPoint offers 52 integrations, spanning identity directories and cloud platforms, HR/HCM, service management, and healthcare systems.

What features or capabilities could make SailPoint even more useful?

SailPoint could be more approachable for administrators and end users, particularly when configuring complex environments. Users also point to several areas where improvements would make daily work smoother:
  • Make navigation, administration, and configuration more intuitive, with less reliance on specialized technical expertise.
  • Expand reporting flexibility and simplify the creation of custom reports and dashboards.
  • Add more options and filters to access certification campaigns and make review workflows easier to tailor.
  • Improve connector setup and troubleshooting with clearer logs, error messages, and documentation.

Is SailPoint considered safe and secure for handling data?

SailPoint is used to govern access through centralized visibility, lifecycle controls, access reviews, and policy enforcement. Users value these capabilities for helping identify excessive access and supporting compliance work, while also noting that security outcomes depend on effective configuration and ongoing governance.

"Happy user for sale point IIQ"
5/5
What do you like best about SailPoint?

A very good government school where you can achieve a high level of customisation based on the application and organisational requirements. It offers strong flexibility end to end, from user onboarding through to user offboarding. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SailPoint?

Okay, so the main selling point is that they’re pushing everything to ISC. I also wanted them to keep you in mind as well, not make it only a cloud platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Forward-Looking Roadmap and Rapid Execution in Modern Identity Governance"
5/5
What do you like best about SailPoint?

What sets SailPoint Identity Security Cloud (ISC) apart today is its forward-looking roadmap and rapid execution in governing modern digital workloads. While most legacy IGA tools are still struggling to automate basic human JML (Joiner, Mover, Leaver) lifecycles, SailPoint has aggressively expanded into non-human and AI-driven identity governance through Agentic fabric. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SailPoint?

I don’t dislike it. However, more knowledge transfer from the SailPoint team is necessary so we can keep pace with the continuous product changes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Comprehensive IAM Solution with Customization and Automation Strengths"
5/5
What do you like best about SailPoint?

I like that SailPoint is locally hosted and easy to customize. I find the various connectors enable good integration with a wide range of tools, which is very valuable. The security posture feature is great for identifying vulnerabilities and remediation. I also appreciate the support from the product team and that the initial setup was pretty easy thanks to the detailed steps and documentation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SailPoint?

I find the initial support with SailPoint to be quite frustrating. It always starts with the L1 support team, and it takes at least a week to move up to L2 and L3 support. There's a need for a better re-routing system in the product line to speed this process up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlines Access Management with Broad Integrations, but Legacy Apps Need Work"
4/5
What do you like best about SailPoint?

I like that SailPoint helps reduce manual effort and access risks, with automated deprovisioning and out-of-the-box features that reduce the need for customization. It’s easier to onboard both modern and legacy apps because SailPoint has out-of-the-box connector support for most apps. I also like the role mining and seamless SNOW integration for connected and disconnected apps. The initial setup was good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SailPoint?

I find that legacy apps require custom web services connector configurations. Errors shown to the business team are usually generic, so I have to do detailed debugging to uncover the actual failure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Strategic Platform for Standardising Identity and Access Management"
4/5
What do you like best about SailPoint?

I like that SailPoint provides a strategic platform around which we can simplify and standardise identity and access management. From a project perspective, it gives us a clear framework for moving away from fragmented or manual processes towards a more consistent and governed model. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SailPoint?

The handling of nested groups has probably been my biggest frustration. It has created a considerable amount of additional clean-up and remediation work as we transition our existing AD access model towards SailPoint. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SailPoint?

The biggest challenge is the initial complexity. Some concepts and configuration options can take time to understand and see the benefits after implementing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Sailpoint’s Feature-Rich Ecosystem That Keeps Evolving"
4/5
What do you like best about SailPoint?

Sailpoint and it's associated ecosystem is extremely feature rich and the Vendor is very good at adding to it and responding to market demand Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SailPoint?

Unfortunately migrating between older features to more recent releases is extremely difficult, indeed for many changes you need to rip out what you already have and start again Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
