I haven't had any major complaints until a vendor advised that a Plooto issued cheque was returned as NSF even though the audit trail showed that the bank cleared the funds from our account. I haven't been able to get a straight answer from support. They keep providing the same canned responses as to why I vendor might not have received or deposited the cheque even though I've been very clear that was not the issue. When I asked if Plooto was in financial distress I very quickly received what was obviously a prepared answer and not something a front line customer support agent would just offer up themselves. Plooto is easy to get up and running, and the payment approval workflow is intuitive. The interface is clean, payments are straightforward to process, and it integrates well into a typical accounts payable workflow. The manual risk review process has become a significant operational burden. We've had multiple legitimate supplier payments delayed while repeating verification steps for changes that were initiated and authorized by our own organization. While fraud prevention is important, the process feels overly rigid and doesn't scale well for businesses processing a meaningful volume of payments. Even more frustrating was the lack of engagement after raising these concerns. After complying with the requested verification, I asked twice to speak with someone from Customer Success or Management to discuss our experience and whether there was a more practical workflow available. As of writing this review, I have not even received an acknowledgement of those requests. Good software is only part of the equation. Responsive customer service and a willingness to engage with legitimate customer concerns are equally important, and that's where our experience has fallen short. Plooto replaced some manual cheque payments and online banking with a centralized accounts payable workflow. It provides approval controls, payment tracking, and electronic supplier payments, making it easier to manage our AP process and reducing manual administrative work. As our business has grown, however, we've found that the efficiency gains are increasingly offset by repeated manual risk verification requests that delay legitimate supplier payments and require significant additional effort from our finance team. It’s easy to get started with and straightforward to use. The main drawback is that sending money through Plooto takes a week (five business days) from the time it leaves our bank account to when it lands in the recipient’s account. I know Plooto Express is now available for expedited payments, which is helpful in a pinch, but the 0.50% fee can get expensive quickly—especially with some of the larger amounts we send. Plooto is a great tool. My favorite features are the seamless integration with QuickBooks Online and the fact that two or more signing authorities can approve payments easily and on a timely manner. I don't dislike anything about Plooto, but perhaps there could be improvements in the way international payments are processed as its often tricky to get exchange rates to aslign between the moment the payment is processed vs the moment the money actually comes out of the account, causing discrepancies. For us the main problem Plooto solves is the authorization of electronic payments by two or more signing officers. Since we are a charity that banks with a credit union, we have to follow strict payment approval processes and Plooto is a great tool that solved this problem quickly and with great ease of user for our staff and board members. There are too many obnoxious pop-ups asking me to add a credit card, even after I’ve declined multiple times. This helps me meet my payment deadlines on time, instead of running into my bank’s limitations on the maximum amount I can pay a vendor per day. We use Plooto to process payments to suppliers and reimbursements to members for our church. The approval feature is critical for us as we need double approval for payments, which Plooto makes much easier compared to processing paper receipts and cheques. We appreciate that Plooto is user-friendly and integrates with QBO. We find it crucial to be able to review supporting documents when approving payments. It also helps us with paying US suppliers. The biggest challenge during the initial setup was our users having to verify their ID to set up their accounts. I like that I can log in and see when people have signed, which provides transparency. I also appreciate getting notifications when a payment is going out, when it's been processed, and when it's been deposited. This feature saves time and keeps me informed. What do you dislike about Plooto? I'd like it if there were less of a delay in getting paid. I know there is an instant option, but it costs more money. So I would like the transfer to be quicker.
