What do you like best about Operating?

As a small consultancy we have tried to look for a one-stop software that would cater both our resource planning needs as well as time tracking/project profitability needs. We have just started using the Opearating software as a company and what stands out to me the most so far is its comprehensive features and intuitive user experience. From the moment I started using it, navigating through the features felt natural and easy to use. Most features are logically organized, making it easy to manage our team's resources and track time efficiently. Flexibility of ways how to track different kinds of projects and their subtasks has also been useful for our business. Customer support has also been superb! What do you dislike about Operating?

While I’ve been very satisfied overall, I find that the reporting features could be somewhat more intuitive. At least as a beginner user, accessing and customizing reports sometimes requires extra steps, and a more streamlined approach would make it even easier to get quick, actionable insights. Hopefully there will also be some improvements/new features soon for tracking time per project phase; e.g. being able to compare easily planned hours per project phase vs actual hours. What do you like best about Operating?

Operating App stands out for its seamless native integration support with both HubSpot and Harvest, which has been transformative for our workflow. These integrations eliminate the need for manual data entry and ensure that all our project, sales pipeline, and time tracking data are automatically synchronised. This has dramatically improved our efficiency and accuracy in planning, forecasting, and staffing projects, allowing us to allocate resources based on real-time information and historical trends.

The interface is another highlight—it’s refreshingly simple and highly intuitive, making onboarding and daily use effortless for the entire team. We’ve found that the minimal learning curve and clear navigation allow us to focus on our work rather than figuring out the software. The platform provides structured visibility into ongoing projects and resource allocation, ensuring nothing slips through the cracks and empowering leadership with actionable, real-time insights.

Perhaps most impressive is the Operating product team. They are exceptionally responsive, always open to feedback, and quick to implement new features. The support experience is truly top-tier; it’s not uncommon to get direct, helpful responses from the developers or even the CEO (Thanks Lauri!). What do you dislike about Operating?

While Operating excels in many areas, the Google SSO (Single Sign-On) experience could be smoother. Occasionally, the login process feels less streamlined compared to other aspects of the app, and there’s room for improvement in making authentication as frictionless as the rest of the platform. What do you like best about Operating?

It's developing fast with new features. It replaces many software solutions and merges them into one; time tracking, project planning, and reporting, to mention a few. It was easy to take into use as a greenfield implementation, and we were able to integrate it with our CRM even though we had to build a custom integration pipeline for this.

What do you dislike about Operating?

Some features are still in development phase, which is understandable, but sometimes frustrating. Also the reporting solution would need some more attention and possibilities for a more flexible reporiting. We have started to use Operating for resourcing as well as work time tracking. We are especially happy with the workflow, as many consultants have mentioned how easy the software is to use. We have been using Operating for just a few months, but can already see that it will be a game-changer for our team. A great benefit is how it supports leadership with real-time reporting, giving them the insights needed to make informed decisions.

What do you like best about Operating?

We have been using operating for 7-8 months now and it has been amazing. The integration points to hubspot and our time tracking system really solves some of the main issues when running a consultancy. It gives us an amazing overview of the upcoming projects and resources needed and makes it a lot easier to forecast.
