OneTrust is a great and platform for discovering & managing the cookies on your website. It offers businesses & teams a relatively easy out of the box solution for Cookie Compliance. Depending on the implementation route, it requires little to no website development work which is perfect for small teams. The banners & geolocation rules are fully customizable to different organizations & there are a variety of opportunities to customize individual implementations. Although OneTrust is generally a good solution, there are some limitations. It is not the most intuitive platform and a ‘simple’ task can easily take longer than expected. While there is a robust set of help pages, these can be difficult to navigate, and it can be hard to find answers & solutions. Finally, announced changes are sometimes slow to roll out or change release dates with little or no notice.

Another limitation we’ve encountered is with larger organizations that use OneTrust across a larger number of domains. Depending on set up, it can be easy for individuals or teams to accidentally update more than one site, which can cause problems. I like how easy it is to set preferences by region. I also appreciate the labeling and ability to associate cookies with vendors for ongoing audits of cookie use. The vendor risk management that if OneTrust would have the local team that could assist in follow up the request for domestic market. If customer would require this vendor assessment as part of the vendor compliance and selection . The maintenance that reflect the continuous development and the new feature introduce to the platform are quite frequency happen. I cannot imagine my work as a Data Protection Officer without OneTrust. The platform is designed as state-of-the-art, very user-friendly to navigate and configure. OneTrust is absolutely reliable in terms of operational continuity, as I don't remember a single instance of the platform going down for more than a moment or two. It is frequently updated and the information for the updates presented in a nice way. The customer support is unique - provided literally in minutes sometimes. The Help desk solution is like a huge library of questions and answers, but on top there is a dedicated MyOneTrust website/community where new ideas may be offered to the developers. The auto scan, and compliance portion of the tool is a winner. we use this mostly when creating websites which need to comply with legislation in EU countries which we are not familiar in. The sales support staff are brilliant. they are very happy to help with all the requests we have had. even silly questions, they treat you correctly. No mass upload of sites. so we need to add each website we manage, one at a time. Another is that the platform backend is not built for scale. If you are managing less than 5 sites this is probably for you. Off the bat, the customizability of the platform cookie notice is a bit limiting. you need a CSS fluent team member in order to really make the cookie notice look how you need.
