When it comes to any size of projects Project helps organize and form them. This is especially true in any size of an organization. I have colleagues in very large companies and it is very good for them as well. I would at least recommend a small trial to see if it will help any of your managers help manage their projects easier and help them run more smoothly. I like how detailed the help page is in this application. It is very easy to find the page that you need more guidance on within the application. Of course, if that fails you can rely on online resources. **What do you dislike about Microsoft Project & Portfolio Management?** There is a learning curve if you have never used Project before. However, with the right internet resources, you should be just fine. The interface can take some getting used to at the beginning. However, we found it easy to learn the interface and find out exactly what each button does on the interface. Need to get to know the program and if you do make a mistake with a timeline predecessor for example this could result in error codes. In addition, It doesn’t work on mobile phones, tables, macOS or Mac OS X devices. Today, when Microsoft Windows is not ubiquitous anymore, this is severely limiting. It also means that the “anytime, anywhere access” idiom that we have taken for granted is not correct. Yes, we have the Microsoft Project Server option, but it is expensive to set up and maintain. On-boarding takes months. Plus the licensing is extraordinarily complex and difficult to understand. Also, there is also no help provided to the user in understanding why a task date starts or finishes on that date. Many are left scratching their heads or wasting time in Microsoft Project forums. The tools that this software has to track your work and assign it into the work break down structures are intuitive and useful. The resource management and cost projection tools are very useful for any kind of work you are involved in. **What do you dislike about Microsoft Project & Portfolio Management?** There is some sort of a learning curve to it for the advanced works like scheduling and making personalized calendars for everyone involved in the project. The project progress tracking is not as easily conceivable than the other portions of the software. **What problems is Microsoft Project & Portfolio Management solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have started using it as a class project and then found it quite interesting that lead me to use it regularly for the research assistant job I have.
