Ease of Install and mostly hand-off once installed. I do like how you can adjust the timing of the scanning by location so some of our smaller locations that don't have many changes can be scanned less frequently while scanning more at our busier locations. Dashboard customization is good. The ability to create dynamic asset groups is a great function as well. DO like the ability to get toner levels from printers. GUI could be a little cleaner, seems to be a lot of info crammed into one space. Reports are nice and there are plenty to use, but creating custom reports requires some SQL query knowledge. Which is fine you have some, but for someone with little or no SQL knowledge may be cumbersome. Having all the demo data in there was a bit confusing and it would let you remove it, however I found online that there is a button to remove all demo data and it did what i wanted, just wish it was a little more obvious. Like maybe when we applied a real license it tells you to do that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Information found by Lansweeper is of great value, using SNMP, WMI, SSH, etc.
Assets are clear to read and you easily find what you search for!
Their new Helpdesk version is great, a bunch of great features and way more to come in each update and new major versions to come. The interface is fantastic for both users and technicians.
You get a clear history of public/private messages sent to the customer/technicians (notes).
Price is great, it used to be cheaper when they started but I think it's worth it with all the features and stability of their product.
Their support team is just great, I havn't found such a quick and good support anywhere else. They listen to their customers and do answer them in a short time (mostly in 24-48 hours).
Multi-language for Helpdesk (translation work is well done!)
If you're looking for a great built-in Knowledge Base tool, Lansweeper has it.
Easy to use for both users and technicians, fully integrated into the Helpdesk portion of the software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Creating a form (ticket type) isn't that easy sometimes depending on the way you would like to build it. You may have to find a different way to create it as you can't reuse a custom field twice or more in the same ticket type.
The system may act slow on a regular server.
No multi-language support for Lansweeper itself, the Helpdesk portion does have it.
Lack of auto-processing features for tasks to be completed by the technicians, for example one of their competitors (from a Quebec/Canadian company) has an ITSM which offers way more advanced features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It has an incredible ability to collect everything and report on everything detail of the network environment with very little management overhead Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is nothing I can say that I dislike about lansweeper. It does everything as expect very well Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The product is easy to install and manage. There are enough custom reports that can you started reporting on your respective assets. It is agent-less which removes the need to first install software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is no SIEM integration which would have been useful for our current environment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
With LanSweeper, the network is continuously evaluated while specific information is supplied. It allows you to sort resources by using unique categories and classes. Also, almost any kind report you could think of can be produced by LandSweeper, which makes it very useful in many cases. Also, it's able to link with Dell, if you work with Dell devices. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The reporting unit is too necessary, this will be beneficial when user is familiar with related databases, but when he's not, it will be hard to create reports later, as there is not a scheduled process to follow. Also, if you uninstall the resource from the process it is deleted from the list, which may be a real problem if you need to revert this Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is a great amount of information provided on assets. Software installed, Switch port the device is on. Event logs. Lot and lots of information. Reports are great to be able to comply with licensing usage and to audit software and devices throughout your network Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Have to pay if extra for the ticketing and if you have a large amount of assets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Scans the network without an agent, able to see in-depth detail about each asset it has scanned, excellent search features, and has some customization options. Dashboard displays helpful alerts. The reporting feature is also robust. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is nothing I dislike about this product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The fact you do not need a workstation agent, you just pass it credentials, means it's not intrusive. The level of detail it gives you exceeds what we've got from far more expensive tools. You get way more details than perhaps you'd expect from a tool without complex endpoint agents. The full breakdown of the software applications installed, drivers, all hardware information, and details about not only which switch the network cable is plugged into, but which port too. It's very clever how it gets all of this without complicated configuration. It was as easy as running an install and giving it credentials for our devices. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's early days for us (only been using it a couple of weeks) but so far, I see nothing I dislike. We are likely to implement the full version very soon (still evaluating) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Lansweeper's ability to scan your network and inventory pretty much any connected device is a life saver if you have inherited an unkempt CMDB and need to get it up to date fast. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The initial inventory is a time suck, but this isn't a problem with Lansweeper, it is just the consequence of a large network of devices needed to be scanned slowly to ensure you don't overload or DDoS your own network. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love that LANSweeper is a combined helpdesk and asset management tool. It puts all of my information in one place. This makes it easy for my staff to monitor tickets and predict problems before they arise. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The report builder is quite complicated. I am rarely able to build reports I need and am forced to use the canned reports. Some reports will show different data, depending on how it is looked at. Also, Lansweeper is not very good at tracking off network items. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Delegation of tickets to helpdesk staff is seamless. If the IP scanning setup is done correctly, it is very easy to scan desktops, laptops, and other and whitelist network devices. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't think this software does a great job of helping to answer user questions. There are a few features that seem absent from the software and when admins (like myself) tried to ask questions in the forum, we didn't receive answers that addressed our problems. Each update seemed to move or remove a key feature without any guide to where it was moved to/replaced with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I like best about Lansweeper is that you can control assets remotely, deploy packages, install/ uninstall software remotely. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Rebooting assets/computers sometimes take a while. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1> Almost all details one can get about the LAN, Computers to Printers installed in the organization.
2>Easy to understand and clear interface .
Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
You need to learn SQL queries to operate this tool effectively. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
My favorite feature of Lansweeper is its flexibility. My team has expanded use to include hardware inventory, software inventory, reports and software installs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Honestly, not much. It's a well-written app with a simple web interface at a fair price. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Software reporting, single pane of glass for almost all of the details needed to manage endpoints, servers, switches, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Deployment system is a little clunky. No way to stop software deployments once initiated. Cannot group software packages by overall product in compliance. Adds annoyance level when trying to get your head around a general package installed. How many licenses of Office are installed? Need to manually tally up installation quantities OR use crazy SQL logic to normalize datasets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Lansweeper enables us to track user support requests, inventory and report on our devices, and even remotely run scripts and commands. It gives us a detailed look into each computer on our network. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The UI could be a more modernized and fluent. Also it would be nice if the helpdesk accepted email commands, similar to Spiceworks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Reports for various items such os disk space and being able to scan by user name to see what computer they last logged into and plugins to aid in remote maintenance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some reports do not clear after fixing the issue. It seems to take a couple of rescans sometimes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The auto-scanning is my favorite feature. Lansweeper offers a comprehensive look at all devices on your domain. Computers and user accounts which haven't been seen for a while are easily identifiable. If used in a team environment, the dashboard offers a fairly simple way to post status updates and network alerts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The helpdesk system is lacking. However it is still new compared to Lansweeper itself. The knowledgebase also needs a bit of work. Formatting is poor, and it doesn't retain layouts when copy/pasting documents. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Ease of scanning - very easy to get set up and scanning your devices. Some it can't clear without manual intervention, but a great way to find things on your network, especially things you may not know about, and give you daily reports. Plus you can't beat the price Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Somewhat clunky at times - the speed of scanning could be better with larger implementations. Reports can be hard to write from scratch, as you have to do it in database language, not anything graphical. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Lansweeper has a very nice interface that correlates the data from different scanning methods.
The flexibility for scanning methods and credentials makes for a robust implementation.
The ability to add devices to location maps.
Reporting and tracking network changes.
Maintaining software compliance Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ultimate version use to include unlimited assets and remote scanners. With the new licensing structure, you have to purchase blocks of assets and the remote scanners are no longer included. With the new pricing, you are paying to maintain assets that have been disposed of but still listed in inventory for a historical record. This limits the usefulness of Lansweeper as a complete asset inventory solution.
While Lansweeper has a nice tracking feature for software purchase orders, it is lacking when it comes to tracking purchase orders for assets. You can add custom fields for vendors and purchase order numbers but it is not adequate.
The help desk feature is very lacking. I wish you could completely remove the feature instead of disabling the menu. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
This application is so robust and easy to use. Just one installation file opens the door to so many features. I use it mainly for asset management, from the first day I used the trial i have loved all the feature. Everything about this application is great Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The pricing and options could be a lot better. The scanning options needs more improvement, the Scanning Exclusion area needs the most of this work. It is a pain to add exclusion one at a time verse doing an upload of the exclusions Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The interface and accessibility are the best parts. Customizing takes a bit of work but in the end when it's all set and ready to go, it's fantastic! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are a few things that are changing but that's only with regards to Operating Systems as they progress. For instance, certain functions like Power On LAN don't automatically work but they can work with a little bit of tweaking. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Very easy to use for beginners and small business (free for less than 100 assets). Very easy to install, just execute the installer and you're up and running. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't really have any bad feedback for this product because it's free and it can do everything I'm looking for. Quick inventory, software version inventory, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
LANSweeper is a fairly easy to use web application that allows us to track various information related to all devices on our network.
We use it to validate various pieces like encryption compliance, software license audits, etc.
Provides a fairly easy to use interface for creating and running reports. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Performance is the main dislike. We have a very beefy server running this product, and having it load and run any type of report takes a little longer than ideal.
This product is also patched often for bug fixes and such - which is sometimes annoying to manage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ability to see an entire network, create reports, create asset locations, and have a live view of current network status and usage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is nothing about this software solution that we dislike. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
