What is Hootsuite, and what problem is it built to solve?

Hootsuite is social media management software for brands and organizations that need to build and maintain relationships with audiences across social networks and one-to-one messaging channels. Its focus includes social insights, employee advocacy, social selling, and social customer care.

What languages does Hootsuite support?

Hootsuite supports 7 languages: Arabic, English, French, German, and Italian, and others.

What company sizes and industries is Hootsuite the best fit for?

Hootsuite is used across small-business, mid-market, and enterprise organizations, with reviewer-reported use spanning several industries. The most visible clusters include:
  • Company size: Small businesses, mid-market organizations, and enterprises.
  • Industries: Marketing and advertising, information technology and software, and higher education and nonprofit organizations.

How long does it take to implement Hootsuite across a team?

Teams most often report getting Hootsuite live in under a month, though setup can take longer when workflows are more involved.
Time to go live Relative frequency
Under 1 month Most common
1–3 months Less common
3–6 months Occasional
6–12 months or longer Uncommon

What customer support options does Hootsuite provide, and how do users find the overall support experience?

Support spans self-service resources and direct help through email, chat, and phone, including 24/7 live-rep support. The experience is mixed: users value responsive, helpful assistance, while others find responses slow or support difficult to reach.

What is the experience like for teams switching to Hootsuite from another tool?

Switching from social management tools such as Sprout Social, Buffer, Zoho Social, and Agorapulse has been driven by the need to bring scheduling, account management, engagement, and reporting into one workflow. The move can make collaboration, approvals, and multi-account publishing easier, especially when the previous setup felt manual or lacked the needed capabilities.

What tools and platforms does Hootsuite integrate with, and how do these integrations help users get more value from the product?

Hootsuite offers 50 integrations, connecting social publishing with creative, AI, CRM, service, and analytics tools.
  • Social networks: Facebook, Instagram for Business, TikTok, and X.
  • Creative and AI: Canva, Adobe Express, Claude, and ChatGPT.
  • CRM, customer service, and analytics: Salesforce Sales Cloud, HubSpot Marketing Hub, Zendesk for Customer Service, and Google Analytics.
These connections can bring content assets and drafting tools into publishing workflows, or link social activity with CRM, service, and reporting work, reducing the need to switch between tools.

What features or capabilities could make Hootsuite even more useful?

Hootsuite could be more useful with improvements that make reporting more flexible and publishing workflows more complete. The recurring requests center on:
  • Deeper, more customizable analytics with clearer platform-specific metrics and reporting.
  • Broader support for platform-specific formats and actions, including Stories, Reels, threads, tagging, and media options.
  • More flexible recurring scheduling, bulk editing, and changes to scheduled posts.
  • Simpler navigation and smoother approval, permissions, and account-management workflows.

How useful do Hootsuite users find its AI features in everyday use?

Hootsuite’s AI is most useful as a starting point for content and analysis, but the experience varies by team and use case. Users describe using it for:
  • Drafting and refining captions or copy.
  • Generating content ideas and hashtag suggestions.
  • Summarizing or interpreting performance data and social conversations.
These tools can save time and help overcome a blank page, but suggestions may feel generic or miss a brand’s voice, so users often review and edit the results.

"Boosting Business Efficiency with Hootsuite: A Must-Have Social Media Tool"
4/5
What do you like best about Hootsuite?

Hootsuite has truly been a game changer for my business when it comes to managing social media. The platform streamlines the process of scheduling posts across multiple accounts, saving me valuable time each day. It allows me to plan my content in advance, ensuring that I can maintain a consistent and professional online presence without feeling overwhelmed.

The analytics feature is another highlight—Hootsuite gives me the ability to track engagement, which helps me understand what content resonates most with my audience. This insight has been invaluable for tweaking my strategy and ensuring I'm always hitting the mark.

Overall, Hootsuite has been instrumental in optimizing my social media efforts. It’s user-friendly, efficient, and has made staying organized a breeze. I highly recommend it to any business looking to enhance its social media management! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hootsuite?

One downside of Hootsuite is that its pricing can be a bit steep for small businesses with limited budgets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy, User-Friendly Multi-Channel Scheduling with Smart Graphic Resizing"
4/5
What do you like best about Hootsuite?

It's very easy and user-friendly to schedule posts on all social media channels at once. I like the fact that you can adjust the size of a graphic on "Your post" and it adjusts it automatically for each channel. Like the fact that I can tag people in the caption of the posts and add hashtags and emojis as I see fit. Love that they offer non-profit discount rates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hootsuite?

I don’t like that Instagram mentions only become linked once the post is published; I wish they could be linked while I’m scheduling the post. Also, when I post on Instagram natively, I can add up to 20 pics and include a mix of photos and videos, but in Hootsuite I’m only able to select 10 pictures. Similar complaints with other channels. The analytics are not the best. Hootsuite analytics gives me very different numbers than what Meta Business Suite provides me for Instagram and Facebook engagement. "Free, Fast Scheduling That Keeps Township Posts Organized"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Hootsuite?

Scheduling when to post for the township is much easier with this platform. It keeps everything organized and fast, and being free and efficient makes planning simple. The AI support also makes the whole process feel very supported. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hootsuite?

I really like the Hootsuite website because it makes managing social media accounts much easier and more organized. I like how you can manage multiple social media platforms in one place instead of having to switch between different apps. The ability to schedule posts ahead of time is also very helpful because it saves time and makes planning content easier. I find the website useful, especially for businesses or organizations that post regularly. However, I do think there are a few areas that could be improved. Some of the features can be confusing at first, and it may take some time for new users to learn how everything works. I also think the layout could be a little simpler to make certain tools easier to find. Another improvement would be offering more features in the free version. Overall, I think Hootsuite is a great website with many useful features, but a few small changes could make it even better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Social Scheduling and a Unified Inbox for Engagement"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Hootsuite?

The ability to schedule content for all the most popular social platforms. The inbox, which allows me to respond to comments and engage from one place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hootsuite?

I've had trouble uploading SRT files for video content. This has been a focus lately due to new accessibility guidelines. I get an error message on Hootsuite, so I have to upload natively to each platform, where it works. That takes three times as long. I submitted a help request and received a response about time codes that did not help and was confusing. A step-by-step guide to fix the problem would be helpful. Better yet, fixing the issue so that it works like it works on the native platforms would be great! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Saves Time with Seamless Scheduling!"
5/5
What do you like best about Hootsuite?

I manage social media for multiple locations, and Hootsuite makes my job easier and saves me a lot of time. I can create a post once, schedule it, and publish it to Facebook and Instagram at the same time, so I don’t have to jump between platforms or duplicate my work. Planning and scheduling posts in advance helps me stay organized, keep a consistent social media presence, and focus on other marketing priorities. It has simplified my day-to-day workload, and the initial setup was perfect. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hootsuite?

I’d like to be able to upload more than 15 photos at a time. When I upload 15, I have to physically count the photos in my file before I can upload the next 15, which takes time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"All-in-One Social Management Made Easy with Hootsuite"
5/5
What do you like best about Hootsuite?

What I like best about Hootsuite is how easy it makes managing multiple social media channels from one place. Being able to schedule content, organize our publishing calendar, monitor activity, and review performance in a single platform helps keep our social strategy organized and consistent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hootsuite?

My biggest dislike about Hootsuite is the cost relative to how we use the platform. It’s a valuable tool for managing our social media efforts, but the pricing can be difficult to justify when some of the functionality included in higher-tier plans may not be necessary for our day-to-day needs. More customizable or scalable pricing would make Hootsuite a stronger value for our team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"An Innovative Way of Managing Social Media"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Hootsuite?

The scheduling and planning feature is phenomenal. I can plan an entire month's worth of content and the Hootsuite platform handles the scheduling, optimising and metric tracking of each post. Highly efficient, convenient and user-friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hootsuite?

There's some security features that activate when I'm logging in where I have to verify myself before continuing. A bit frustrating, but at the end of the day, I'd much prefer a platform that keeps my identity, activity and info safe. Sometimes my accounts get disconnected and I have to reconnec t them, which can be a mild inconvenience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Huge Time-Saver for Social Media, But Interface Takes Getting Used To"
4/5
What do you like best about Hootsuite?

Honestly, the biggest upside of using Hootsuite is how much time it saves. Having all my social accounts — like Instagram, LinkedIn, and X (Twitter) — in one dashboard makes it so much easier to stay organised. Instead of jumping between apps all day, I can just schedule posts, check comments, and track engagement all in one place.

One of the most helpful things for me is the post-scheduling feature. I can plan a whole week (or even a month) of content ahead of time, which takes a lot of pressure off during busy weeks. The analytics tools are also great — they help me see what’s actually working so I’m not just guessing what kind of posts people like.

I also like the team collaboration part. If I’m working with others, it’s easy to assign tasks or approve posts without a bunch of back-and-forth messages.

Overall, it’s just a really practical tool for staying consistent and on top of everything without feeling overwhelmed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hootsuite?

For me, the least helpful part of Hootsuite is probably the interface — it can feel a bit cluttered at first. There are a lot of tabs and streams to look at, and it takes some time to figure out where everything is. Once you get used to it, it’s fine, but there’s definitely a learning curve.

Another downside is that some features are locked behind paid plans, and those can get pretty pricey if you’re just a small business or solo creator. For example, advanced analytics or team collaboration tools aren’t really worth it unless you’re managing multiple brands or clients.

Also, the analytics aren’t always super detailed compared to using the native platforms directly. It gives you a good overview, but if you want deeper insights (like specific post performance on TikTok or Instagram), you might still have to check the individual apps.

And honestly, sometimes the scheduled posts don’t publish exactly as expected — especially if a platform changes its API or limits. It doesn’t happen often, but when it does, it’s annoying.

Overall, Hootsuite is great for organization and scheduling, but it’s not perfect — it’s more about convenience than getting every single advanced feature in one place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"One Dashboard to Reply to TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube with Ease"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Hootsuite?

I run Hangry By Nature with decent followers across social channels. When our travel videos do well, our inbox blows up with questions about hotels and train passes. Hootsuite puts all those comments in one feed. I just sit down with a coffee and reply to Tiktok, Instagram and Youtube from one single dashboard. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hootsuite?

Phone app is slow and awkward to use. Fixing post tags on a phone takes too many taps. Travel creators work from their phones. If I'm middle of something and need to fix a tag or change a link, mobile app is hard to use. I often have to open my laptop just to make a quick fix. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A powerful tool for managing social media"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Hootsuite?

Hootsuite is an excellent tool for managing my social media channels. I can schedule post on multiple platforms at the same time. I appreciate the recommended posting times so I know my content is getting the most views. The planner helps me see my scheduled content in multiple formats. The analytics are especially useful, specifically the ability to compare my performance to competitors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hootsuite?

The only downside I've run into is not being able to link Instagram mentions while in Hootsuite. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
