"Simple, Reliable, Extensible"

What do you like best about HAProxy?

Reliable. I don't think this has ever gone done for us in the years we've been using it. Once you have a decent understanding of the configuration syntax, it's very easy to extend and customize. And, if you have some trouble with the documentation and examples, the support is very good as well. We explained what we were trying to accomplish and even helped with the design and configuration of it. A "surprising" bonus feature for us was the dashboard. What do you dislike about HAProxy?

The built-in dashboard could have more features. For users with smaller deployments that may not have observability and metrics setup, this might be the only thing they have. Could be modernized and have more details Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is HAProxy solving and how is that benefiting you?

SSL termination and load balancing have been great. We have an interesting setup; we have a third-party DDOS mitigation service that points all of our domains/sub-domains to HaProxy. Behind HaProxy are Kubernetes clusters and VMs. Having a single point for SSL termination and load balancing keeps it manageable for our small team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about HAProxy?

HAProxy adeptly aggregates table data from our cluster of load balancers on a real-time basis. Inspecting tag values within our logon messages is done quickly as soon as our client sends them. We can easily modify rate-limiting thresholds for traffic loads that are dynamic in nature. The Resolvers offered by HAProxy enable DNS server listing over TCP so that we are able to manage multiple DNS responses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about HAProxy?

We would like to have a few connection headways to promote reusability. This would greatly help us overcome the constraints of limited connectivity over TLS. Also, we could connect multiple backend servers without worrying about our SNI metrics & no. of host header requests with these improvisations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is HAProxy solving and how is that benefiting you?

In our organization, HAProxy is configured in such a way that it not only takes care of load-balancing requirements but also gathers health metrics for our applications. We integrate Prometheus with HAProxy to collect metrics & obtain visualizations in the HAProxy Dashboard. We can also enable the auto-removal option for failed servers as it benefits load balancing rotation & saves cost. This ensures that all our servers are in proper health and failed servers are automatically replicated during unexpected outages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The best load-balancer available"

What do you like best about HAProxy?

After our company has spent millions of dollars with F5 and A10 I can say that at least for us Hapee has the best product and support available in a paid product. Best-in-class does not do their support teams justice, the direct support integration we have with our reps has given us a support experience that would be hard for anyone to top. We have a complex traffic profile that always seems to expose bugs in load balancers and we have found some on every platform we have used and the level of communication and dedication to isolating and resolving issues that we have received from hapee is truly outstanding. We routinely ask questions about optimizations and best practices in complex situations and get clear and detailed responses within minutes. Thank you to everyone over there for putting such a large focus on providing a quality product with an amazing support team at a reasonable cost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about HAProxy?

Thank you for your review. We do have a policy that all Load Balancing features will always be in the open source version of HAProxy. Our HAProxy Enterprise adds additional features, such as security modules, or a Control Plane.
