## Fivetran Reviews
 ### 1. Providing the best all-around Headless solution but at a high price

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

We used Fivetran with their Headless Powered by Fivetran solution and it's incredibly helpful, quick and easy to setup and it handles pretty much everything, user authentication included (which others don't).

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

The pricing based on number of rows makes it nearly impossible to be able to predict before-hand how much each connector is going to use and in addition to that ends up being quite expensive (compared to price per number of connectors as many other providers do)

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Centralize marketing and business data from our Agency's clients in order to provide them with better insights and additional analysis in a quick and semi-automated way.

 ### 2. Great tool for integrating data in Salesforce!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

Easy point-and-click to get started. All you need to do is know your data warehouse table and where that data should be updated in your SaaS tool. For us, all we want to do is sync some important fields in Salesforce. It could not be easier with Census!

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

I wish there was a little bit more of a low-code environment to do more customization with our syncs. For instance, I don't love that Census always needs to be pointed to a table. It would be nice to be able to maintain some custom SQL that Census runs to push results to our SaaS tool.

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We would like to surface some important data calculated in our data warehouse in Salesforce. This tool allows us to easily accomplish this task. It saves us tons of engineering time to get important details and metrics in our SaaS tool where stakeholders can use it!

 ### 3. A Game-Changer for Data Management!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

I recently started using Census and I have been blown away by its functionality and ease of use. As someone who works with data on a daily basis, I know how important it is to have a reliable and efficient tool for managing and organizing large amounts of information. Census has exceeded my expectations in every way. One of the things I love most about this tool is how user-friendly it is. The interface is intuitive and straightforward, which makes it easy to use even for those who are not tech-savvy. I was able to start using the tool right away without any need for extensive training or assistance.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

Overall, while Census has developed an impressive tool for data management, there is always room for improvement. By continuing to innovate and develop new features, Census could further enhance its tool and make it even more valuable for users.

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes syncing data between platforms an absolute breeze. One of the key problems it solves is error handling, a sync doesn't fail when there are data discrepancies. Instead, you get you a readable and actionable output that you can use to correct any issues.

 ### 4. Census is a valuable asset for driving business growth and improving customer experiences

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mantas G. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

Having used Census to unify and manage our customer data, we have been impressed with the platform's capabilities and ease of use. The ability to create user segments and send them to email marketing platforms and ad networks has been a game-changer for our marketing campaigns, allowing us to create more targeted and personalized content for our audience. Additionally, sending lifetime value data to ad networks has helped us optimize our advertising campaigns and drive better ROI. All of this with ability to take data from centrally defined user dimension and fact tables in our data warehouse.

We have also appreciated the support of Census's customer success and product teams, who have been extremely helpful in resolving any issues we encountered and building new connectors quickly. Their responsiveness and willingness to work with us to find solutions has been outstanding.

Overall, we highly recommend Census to any business looking to unify their customer data and improve their marketing and customer success strategies. The platform's capabilities, combined with the exceptional support from the Census team, make it a valuable asset for driving business growth and improving customer experiences.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

In some cases you can feel that Census is fairly young company that still experiences bugs or are missing key components in their syncs (i.e. batching the syncs, if the API endpoint is rate limited). Though in all cases they were able to fix those issues within 2-3 weeks.

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marketing audiences syncing to ad networks (google, meta, tiktok). Marketing audience syncing to email marketing platform. Conversion tracking (sending LTV) to Google Ads, Meta, TikTok, etc. Sending product usage data for enterprise customer success platform to better inform customer success teams.

 ### 5. Fivetran saves us thousands of hours by doing all ETL heavylifting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gus F. | CTO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

1. Ease of usage: Fivetran has an incredibly user-friendly interface that makes it easy to set up and manage data pipelines. It requires minimal coding or technical expertise, and its intuitive UI allows even non-technical users to set up complex data integrations with ease.
2. Amount of connectors: Fivetran offers an impressive range of data connectors, covering a wide variety of data sources. This makes it easy to connect with a large number of data sources, including popular databases, CRMs, marketing tools, and more.
3. Features: Fivetran offers features like automatic schema detection, transformation and mapping capabilities, and seamless data sync. Its automated error handling and logging also make it easy to track down any issues that may arise.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

Pricing: Fivetran can be expensive, especially for small to medium-sized businesses. Its pricing model is based on the number of data rows processed per month, which can quickly add up if you're dealing with large volumes of data.

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Fivetran to maintain different cloud systems and databases sycronised with our data warehouse and data lake solutions, making easier for our BI team create dashboards and leverage insights.

 ### 6. Great product for our data infrastructure

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

The best part about Cansus is that it provides an easy way for transfering data safely to our partners for advanced analytics. It's easy to use and meets our standards for privacy and security.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

I don't have much to say here since Census is one of those products where once it meets our needs, we can essentially forget about it. But one thing that I think can be improved is a better organisation of the connectors, e.g. folders and labels.

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Census provides an easy and secure way to transfer our data to our vendors that's simple to set up and manage. We needed a method of doing this that adheres to our data infrastructure standards and Census meets this holistically. For example, it would be unacceptable for us to have a different method of data transfer for each use case.

 ### 7. Product is good, sale team and price is terrible

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

Reduce remarkably time to insight / market of data products.
Reduce engineering part of data projects.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

Slow response on incidents, we used to got more than 2 weeks downtime of Facebook pages connectors and Fivetran refused all responsibilities.
They mostly stop supportive response after signing anual contract.

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pre-built connectors help us to push up the data extraction process

 ### 8. This product is a lifesaver!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Antonio L. | CTO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

Fivetran has enabled us to connect all our disparate SaaS data sources into Snowflake and combine them with our in-house data. It is fast, reliable, and they constantly keep up with changes so we do not have to. It has been a lifesaver in getting several sources of data together without worrying about writing our own event processor or other solution.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

Cannot say anything bad, we have not had an issue yet.

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use several SaaS platforms, and have a lot of internal databases. Our customers want to see integrations of data between those sources and our data, and prior to Fivetran, our ways of doing this were very primative. Enter Fivetran, and now we have constant automated collection of our SaaS data, our relational data is being integrated into Snowflake as well, and we are finally able to provide our users with simple sets of data sources combining all of our platforms from 1 location.

 ### 9. Good product, but pricing changes caught us off guard

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

The reverse ETL part of Census works well and is competitive. The platform is well organized and integrates well across systems.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

Our relationship with Census has been a bit all over the place. Our initial purchase went well, but at renewal we faced challenges with increased pricing even when requesting to stay on the same plan. Communications flopped going through Vendr and we were left to try to get the price within budget at last minute which involved a call with a manager who was rude and condescending.

We did decide to renew to avoid the trouble of switching, and upon adding onto our contract we had easy and quick negotiations so perhaps it all just depends on who you're dealing with or whether you're using Vendr. We're hoping for a smooth renewal next time now that both sides have learned how to communicate and reach an agreement. The product is good and if the situational renewal was a one-off, I would recommend working with Census.

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed to be able to move product data into our marketing and sales systems so that we could better target and hunt for accounts.

**Official Response from Roslyn Coutinho:**

> Love hearing the impact Census is having on your company, and thanks for referring us to other RevOps teams! Making Census more user friendly for non-SQL users is definitely something we're striving for. Our point and click audience builder, Census Segments, was the first step here, and there's definitely more in the works. Also really appreciate you sharing the feedback on field update logic, I’ll pass that on to our product team – they’re always looking to make continuous improvements to the sync experience. Feel free to drop feedback like this in our in-app chat at anytime.

 ### 10. Breaks too often, unhelpful support, expensive

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tony P. | Founding Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

It usually works, nothing much to add here.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

Providers break very often. It takes weeks for support to resolve such issues.
It takes days for support to respond to urgent issues

Some API methods have ridiculous designs, e.g. updating the schema: you have to perform 7 API calls in a row to achieve a single change in the config.
There's no API versioning; requests and responses just get updated.

Pricing is extreme. Self-hosted solutions, for example, Airbyte, are identical in terns of setup and maintenance efforts, but you only pay for hosting.

Last, but not least, it's not fast at all.

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data syncs from external providers

 ### 11. Everything and Anything related to Data

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rahul M. | Chief Executive Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

The best part of the census is the capabilities that it offers and the broad support for data sources providing more flexibility in data operations and getting data managed with syncs.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

I disliked the price point its quiet expansive for a startup coming with bootstrap, also there were many instances where there were limitations in syncs and only one operation was done at a time which is not justified with the price point coming on and feels over-priced.

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data management and data syncs from different sources was not possible manually, census has helped us in solving that problem and allowed us to perform data operations and manage data from different sources at one place.

 ### 12. Census for reverse ETL

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2024

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

Easy to use, almost no training required

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

Error logging could be better, sometimes the key idntidy could be confusing

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

census does the job when we try to load data to crms

 ### 13. Amazing tool for analytics

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Miranda S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 06, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

We love using Census to gather insights on our customers and stay on top of our analytics.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

Can be a bit overwhelming and confusing but once the asset is built, it's amazing!

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping track of Sendgrid Activity and user activity Trailing 30 Days.

 ### 14. Keystone of our ETL strategy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gabe R. | Systems Architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

The ability to run new connectors quickly to create proofs of concept and the ability to pick and choose which fields to include in each model, so as the control you have to add or remove fields and objects really makes it easy to control.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

Some small subset of connectors seem unstable at times, so real-time data can be affected, in some cases the connectors and fields require some external calculation or validation this makes it confusing if you run multiple systems at the time (Make sure to document everything)

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are running a ETL strategy in which we use Fivetran to extract data from our sources into our Warehouse to be re-calculated and transformed for both integration use and direct business reporting, this has given us more granular control on when and which data is extracted

 ### 15. Solid product, helpful and responsive support

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Phil C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

Census makes it easy for us to sync analytics data back to Salesforce. Their support team is also super helpful, I had an issue and they quickly provided relevant feedback, allowing me to resolve it.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

The error message I received when I had my issue was not particularly helpful. It just said 'Source model has one or more validation errors'. The support rep pointed me to another area of the application ("Preview Results") to find the error message from the data warehouse, allowing me to diagnose the issue. But it would be nice if that data warehouse error message was more immediately available.

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Census to sync data from our data warehouse (Snowflake) to our CRM (Salesforce). This allows us to build and automate our sales and marketing processes more easily.

 ### 16. Data management made easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

Census has a clean UI that makes managing data between systems easy and effective. I'm able to set up a sync between sources to push data into Salesforce within minutes.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

For me, Census has been a phenomenal tool. It was easy for me to get started right out the gate with very little confusion. I'm excited to see what improvements are made in the future!

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Census has helped with connecting data sources and ensuring that our data is up-to-date across systems. It makes performing complex data ops easy and straightforward.

 ### 17. Helps us access data critical to our product led sales motion

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mike H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

With Census, we're able to get critical product insights into GTM & marketing tools like Salesforce, Endgame, Customer.io and more.

Given our GTM is highly dependent on upgrading existing users, we'd be at the mercy of long engineering cycles if our team didn't have access to Census

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

Our pricing plan requires us to think carefully about whether to hook up a new sales or marketing tool to Census. I understand Census needs a scalable business model, but this creates unnessary internal hurdles to active our product data in new tools where the use-case and business care aren't yet fully built out

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Census is piping product usgae data into downstream tools that our sales and marketing team rely on (Salesforce, Customer.io, Endgame, etc.). Our business model requires that we have/use these insights.

 ### 18. It's an easy to use solution for creating segments of customers

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Airlines/Aviation | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

easy to use
connected to most ad platforms
automatic audience updates

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

there were a few issues at first when trying to connect our audiences to DV360 directly
Sometimes its hard to locate the segment because there are so many, having a grouping or labels could help

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can constantly push new and refreshed audiences to our ad platforms directly with the tool. This is very useful, since cookies will soon disappear, we will be able to scale our ads with our 1st party data, and create lookalikes of it.

 ### 19. Easy to use

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

easy to use for data syncs from snowflake to google sheets. intuitive UI that's friendly for non-engineering configurations. overall pretty reliable and accurate.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

Downsides so far is that it does get hard to manage all the variety of syncs easily. When there's a large number of them, you have to remember the titles or spend a while digging around.

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need to get data from snowflake into google sheets and this is the easiest way to set up that data connection without having to engineer an entire infrastructure system.

 ### 20. Transform Your Data Integration Process with Census Reverse ETL Platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bikram (Vickie) A. | Lead Solution Architect-Associate Director, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 29, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

Census has a user-friendly interface that allows me to easily create and manage data syncs between our data warehouse and other applications and has helped me save time and effort by reducing the need for manual data entry and processing. Another helpful feature of Census is its automation capabilities. It automates data syncs, which has helped us reduce errors and ensure that our data is always up-to-date; particularly helpful for our sales and marketing teams, who rely on accurate and timely data to make informed decisions.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

While the cost of the Census platform may be a potential downside, it's essential to consider its numerous benefits. Depending on the size and complexity of an organization's data integration needs, the benefits of Census may outweigh the costs and significantly improve business outcomes.

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Census has been a lifesaver for us when it comes to integrating our data from different systems. We were struggling to keep our data warehouse in sync with other applications like CRM, marketing automation tools, and analytics platforms, but now with Census, it's become a breeze. We can easily connect and synchronize data across our various systems, which has given us a more unified and comprehensive view of our data, improved our decision-making, and helped us identify new growth opportunities. With Census automating the data syncs, we can now keep our data up-to-date and accurate without the need for manual data entry or the risk of errors. I highly recommend Census to anyone looking to simplify their reverse ETL process and unlock the full potential of their data.

 ### 21. Financial Analyst

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nick M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 06, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

It's very intuitive and easy to use without an engineering background. I was able to navigate the pages using the side panel easily and set up links quickly and accurately.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

The tests that I ran did not always work off the bat. I also did not pickup on the need to "Force Sync" when changing any of the parameters in the receiving software.

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Census is helping streamline data from our Looker database into Anaplan, which is saving a ton of manual effort pasting the data over from one to the other. It allows me to quickly sync the data and have it reflected in my model.

 ### 22. User-Friendly Tool for Reverse ETL

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

Census makes it easy for our marketing team to achieve personalization at scale in our omnichannel marketing without having to rely heavily on our data team. Their no-code UI is very user friendly and makes building our customer 360 a light lift using their reverse ETL.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

It would be helpful to have a greater variety of self-service user training resources available, but as for the product itself I have not run into anything that I dislike.

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Census helps us to build our Customer 360 by syncing our data warehouse with our SaaS tools. This has allowed us to break down data silos and stop wasting our organization's technical resources on writing Python scripts that are unscalable.

 ### 23. Excellent Tool For Sync Data With Great Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Akash Y. | System Administrator, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

I have had a great overall experience with Census. I think it is one of the best IT tools I've ever used. It has excellent usability. The census makes data manipulation simple and saves me a massive amount of time. Utilising it is pretty simple. If you run into any issues using this software, the support staff is responsive and assists you. This tool's setup is quite simple.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

Everything is quite good; I want to give one piece of feedback - Testing on the platform might be difficult because, once a sync is generated, the destination cannot be changed.

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need to transfer a lot of data from one system to another. Census makes that procedure 10 times simpler and 10 times less mistake-prone than performing these syncs without a service provider. Census gives us another benefit ie Reverse ETL. Our organization has become considerably more data-driven because of the ability to provide business users with access to data without forcing them to leave Salesforce.

 ### 24. Solid ELT solution, meets our data Integration needs.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Haji R. | Data Engineer | AWS CCP | PySpark | Data Pipelines, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

The ability to transform data within the platform without requiring external tools or scripts. Fivetran has a large number of pre-built connectors, they cover a wide range of data sources, making it easy to integrate with different systems. Regardless of where our data is coming from, Fivetran has made the extraction process seamless and reliable, providing us with clean and structured data that we can use for our analytics needs.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

We've had scenarios when the sync process failed to complete successfully, causing some delays in our data pipeline. The process of troubleshooting the sync errors can be time-consuming and requires technical expertise, which could be a challenge for some organizations without dedicated data engineering resources.

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fivetran streamlines the way we access and use data by providing a reliable ELT solution that reduces the need for manual intervention. Helps us focus on analyzing data and drawing insights that drive business decisions rather than spending time on manual data integration processes.

 ### 25. Solid Reverse ETL, Usage-based Pricing is Limiting

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 06, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

It just works. We use Census to sync data from our warehouse into marketing, sales, and customer success tools. Whenever we need to add a new field to those tools, Census is our go-to. It's simple, straightforward, and just works as expected.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

The pricing is a little limiting. We're paying for the number of destination fields so while it's easy to add new fields to Census to sync elsewhere, it's also easy to hit the cap. We find ourselves having to clean out and remove fields on a regular basis that we would otherwise keep syncing. Obviously, we could increase our plan limit to avoid this, but it's easy for costs to scale quickly once you're in the tool.

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Census to sync fields between tools and from our data warehouse (fivetran/redshift) to tools like Salesforce, Hubspot, Vitally, etc.

 ### 26. It mostly works

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** A F. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

It has been easy to get less technical users such as salesforce admins who know just a bit of SQL to get going with their basic syncs

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

Our Okta/SSO configuration has been pretty problematic. It might be on our part since the IT manager who set it up left, but even the UI to sign in with Okta instead of with Google is kinda messy as it expects you to write in your email and infer that our company is using that SSO option.

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting data from our warehouse into other systems like SFDC and Zendesk. Saves me and my team the implementation and maintenance cost of each of those pipelines, while allowing stakeholders to make updates on their own as well.

 ### 27. The go to ELT platform for mass-account based performance marketing businesses

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rob L. | Head of Partnerships & Insights, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

The free trial allows you to test and set up connectors within platforms to implement within your BI for an entire month.

Fivetrans's ease of connector and setup alongside its customizability into custom schema was the perfect solution for us.

Fivetrans customer success and tech teams work alongside you to help you get the most out of the platform, ensure you have unanswered questions answered, and are great for technical advice and best practice

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

Initial sync times & connector setup times are set for life, meaning if you are specifically looking at specifically timed extracts, there is a little bit of disconnect.

You can reset these however and work on improving/optimising these

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Extracting from a specific platform (connector) in a mass, customisable way

 ### 28. Great tool to close the data loop

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

Census helps us close the loop in our data reporting by getting important product and usage data back into our CRM so that we can easily leverage it in forecasting and reporting tools.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

Better search functionality would help, as it's hard to identify and diagnose where some updates are coming from, like which syncs are updating which fields and who is running those syncs.

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For revenue reporting we aim to have all key revenue metrics in our CRM and Census is solving the problem of getting product and usage data back into the CRM. This gives the team easier access to it, and allows all the tools tied to the CRM to easily ingest the product data.

 ### 29. The Ultimate Data Transformation and Integration Platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Saro K. | Chief Marketing Officer(CMO), Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 24, 2022

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

I recently started using Census for my business and I have to say, I am extremely impressed. There are so many advantages to using this platform, and I wanted to share my experience in more detail.

First and foremost, Census is extremely easy to use. As someone who is not particularly technical, I was worried about the learning curve, but the layout is intuitive and the onboarding process was very helpful. Within just a few minutes, I was able to get started and begin transforming and leveraging my data.

One of the biggest advantages for me has been the ability to integrate Census with other tooling systems. In the past, I had data siloed in my data warehouse and it was difficult to get that data into other systems, such as my CRM. With Census, it was a breeze. I was able to quickly pipe my product data into my CRM and set up reporting for my reps in just a day. It was a game-changer for my business.

Another key advantage of Census is the support provided by the team. Whenever I have had a question or issue, I have been able to get quick and helpful support. The team is responsive and understanding, and they even set up a copy of my data to try and replicate any issues I was experiencing. I really appreciate the level of support I have received.

In addition to the support, I have also appreciated the ease of sync scheduling with Census. It is streamlined and straightforward to set up and maintain data syncs, and the documentation available is more than enough to guide me through the process.

The user interface for Census is another standout feature. It is simple yet powerful, and both technical and non-technical team members have been able to use it effectively. The API debugger within the UI has also been incredibly useful for quickly identifying and resolving any issues that arise.

One of the things that has really impressed me about Census is their willingness to listen to customer feedback and take action. They have built out additional functionality for me when requested, and it has been delivered quickly and effectively. It is clear that they value their customers and are committed to making the platform as useful and effective as possible.

Finally, I have to mention how fast and easy it was to set up Census and load data. Within just 15 minutes, I was up and running with my first data load. This has been a huge advantage for my business, as we have been able to move "FAST" with Census and replace several engineering-built processes with the platform.

In conclusion, I highly recommend Census to anyone looking to transform and leverage their data. The platform has so many advantages, including ease of use, integration with other tooling systems, quick and helpful support, sync scheduling, an intuitive UI, an API debugger, and a commitment to customer feedback. It is also fast and easy to set up and load data, and has provided valuable insights for my business. Overall, I have had a fantastic experience with Census and would highly recommend it to others.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

I have been using Census for several months now and overall, I am satisfied with the platform. That being said, there are a few downsides that I have experienced during my time using it.

First and foremost, I have found it can be difficult to make changes to syncs once they are set up. If I make a mistake or want to adjust something, it can be challenging to do so without setting up a new sync and deleting the original. This can be frustrating and time-consuming.

Another downside is the limited search and organization features within Census. It can be tough to find and organize models, particularly if there is a lot of activity on the account. It would be helpful to have folders or groups, or at least the ability to search for models by name.

In terms of the user interface and user experience, I have noticed that some features can be buggy or lacking. This can make tasks more frustrating than they need to be, and I have found myself having to work around these issues at times.

As a relatively new product, Census does not have as much documentation or resources available as other platforms. This can be a drawback for users who are looking for more guidance or want to troubleshoot issues on their own.

Another challenge I have encountered is the dependence on SQL knowledge. As someone who is not particularly familiar with SQL, I have found it difficult to work with some of the more advanced features of Census. While I recognize that this is a gap in my own skill set rather than a fault of the platform, it is still something that I have had to work around.

Setting up new syncs with Census can also be somewhat time-consuming, and I have had instances where I have been logged out while trying to save a sync, only to find that all of my work has been lost and I have to start over. It would be helpful to have a feature that allows users to copy and paste existing syncs for situations where the same sync needs to be set up for different environments.

Finally, I have found it can be awkward to view the configuration of large syncs within Census. It can be tough to browse through all of the fields to find the one I am looking for, and a search feature would be very helpful in these situations.

Overall, while I have been satisfied with Census as a platform, these are the downsides that I have experienced. It would be great to see the team address some of these issues in future updates to make the platform even better.

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a user of Census, I have been extremely impressed by the platform and the problems it has helped me solve.

One of the biggest challenges my business faced was data silos. We had data scattered across different systems and sources, and it was difficult to bring it all together in a cohesive and integrated way. Census has been a game-changer in this regard, as it has enabled us to easily connect, transform, and integrate our data from a variety of sources. This has helped us gain a more comprehensive and accurate view of our data, which has been invaluable in informing our strategy and driving growth.

In addition to helping us overcome the problem of data silos, Census has also made the process of data integration much simpler and more efficient. In the past, we struggled with complex data integration processes that required significant manual effort and were prone to errors. With Census, we have been able to streamline and automate these processes, which has saved us time and helped us extract more value from our data.

Another area where Census has been incredibly helpful is in improving our data management processes. The platform has made it much easier for us to keep track of and use our data effectively, which has helped us make better informed decisions and drive better business outcomes.

Finally, Census has helped us gain a better understanding of our data and how it can be used to drive success. The platform has given us greater visibility into our data and has helped us see patterns and trends that we might have otherwise missed. This has been invaluable in helping us make better informed decisions and drive better results.

Overall, I have been extremely impressed by Census and the problems it has helped me solve. It has made it easier for me to access and use my data, streamline and automate my data management processes, and gain a better understanding of my data and how it can be used to drive business success. I would highly recommend Census to anyone looking to improve their data management and integration processes.

 ### 30. Excellent Tool For Data Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sheetal N. | Administrator, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

It is pretty simple to use. The support team is highly active and will assist you if you encounter any issues using this application. The census allows me to simply manipulate data and saves me a lot of time. The most excellent element is the user-friendly user interface, which I like and frequently use because it is pretty sharp. It is one of the most valuable tools I have ever encountered in the IT sector.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

Honestly, I haven't found anything to dislike about Census yet. This product dramatically assists me in my work and meets all my needs. Census may improve its product and make it more helpful to users by continuing to develop and introduce new features.

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Census resolves the 'Reverse ETL' difficulty of getting simulated and filtered data outside my data warehouse and into multiple SaaS applications. This enables us to launch automation and innovative branding, administration, and sales activities more rapidly and accurately than traditional processes.

 ### 31. Great App for us!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Games | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

- Census makes it easy to integrate with other third party applications without your dev team having to spend cycles figuring out the best way to integrate
- It also gives your end-users the ability to go in and create their own filters on your core datasets, instead of created customized syncs/jobs for each person
- Finally, I also like that it means we can just sync relevant data to 3rd party apps, versus updating all users every day.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

- Keeping the app up to date and fresh is great, but feels a little odd that every time I log in it looks different / things are renamed / moved around - would be nicer to package these bigger changes into one versus the constant changing (also makes it tough for people to onboard since documentation is always out of date)
- With all the changes, things have been a little unstable lately, which is not ideal.

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Census makes it easy to integrate with other third party applications without your dev team having to spend cycles figuring out the best way to integrate
- It also gives your end-users the ability to go in and create their own filters on your core datasets, instead of created customized syncs/jobs for each person

 ### 32. Great reliability and service.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bogdan B. | Data Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2022

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

The easy administration and overall ease of use.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

Lack of advanced features (for example, creating partitioned tables)

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating multiple data pipelines from multiple data sources with changing schemas to the central data warehouse.

 ### 33. Fivetran is a useful service for optimizing your data organization and ELT processes

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ben A. | Data Insights Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

Fivetran makes data engineering processes easier by replicating and automating our data warehouse complete with historical data. Using Fivetran's tables accelerates our time to publish data visualizations and help our chief-level staff perform using data-driven decisions.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

Some services Fivetran offers - particularly with historical data and data warehouse tables - can be costly to automate and track. In some cases, there are accessible alternatives to track only a subset of this data for barely a fraction of the price.

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When we used Fivetran, it helped our organization track events and event history across our platform in a way that is enabling us to efficiently organize and visualize data even with a limited amount of team members. With Fivetran's data replication and automated table production, data analysts can pick and choose which fields they need for stakeholder data visualizations without having to wait for the data to be prepped, cleaned, and organized by a data engineer. This massively increases our time to publish Tableau dashboards and quickly have access to data and data history that we may not have been able to utilize previously.

 ### 34. No-code, low fuss Extract Tool

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mithun M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

- It is very easy to get started and ingest data. There is no infrastructure or code to manage
- There is a huge catalogue of connectors available which covers the requirements of most of the enterprise customers
- Fully managed service - that means you can set it and forget it without much maintainence

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

- The pricing model is not very good. Pricing based on the monthly active rows is confusing and difficult to forecast the pricing
- Enterprise customers with a large amount of data might not find the pricing model very attractive.

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Fivetran replaces inhouse data extraction python scripts and provides enterprise grade data, managed connectors that can pull data from a variety of sources.
- WIth this data engineers can focus more on delivering insights and data to business than spending hours writing customer extraction scripts and maintaining infra needed to run them

 ### 35. Reverse ETL is the future

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sam R. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

Census in my mind, is one of the most impactful buys our company has ever made. The cost vs the engineering effort to build a similar solution is night and day. The quality of the census product is second to none, and Sean and the team have their sights on defining this category.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

Canva started using an early version of Census with some bugs in it. However, the Census team quickly fixed any problem with the product.

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Census to sync audiences across several platforms. Census provides a simple, fast and reliable method of synchronising data between out systems and external vendors. We have also started using the audience building tool that has a lot of promise.

 ### 36. Absolute No-Brainer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bobatz R. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

Fivetran as a tool is incredibly intuitive and, due to its speedy implementation time, almost immediately generates value for the business. Additionally, no real coding experience is required to use the tool, making it an excellent choice for analysts without an engineering background.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

Potentially, one could argue that Fivetran's pricing is steep - especially if you plan on syncing high-volume connectors like Google Search or Google Ads (at least those are the highest-volume connectors for us).

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using Fivetran allows us to centralize data across our most essential source systems. The seamless integration with dbt additionally facilitates the planning and execution of transformation jobs overarching the whole data pipeline. The only thing currently missing is some Reverse ETL feature.

 ### 37. Great tool for our lean startup tech stack

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kyle C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

Census is easy to use and connects our different data sources, providing the correct information to the business units. Writing SQL quickly to give the right team data without involving our dev team has streamlined our business.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

When you have a lot of continuous syncs going on at once, it can bog down our data warehouse, which will sometimes hinder our data team's ability to execute timely queries.

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were looking for a tool that allowed us to quickly connect and send data to systems for different business units to take advantage of. Census cut out the need for developers to write APIs and allows us to send data on the fly by simply adjusting a SQL query.

 ### 38. I work as a Data Scientist, building SQL queries for Census pipelines.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex W. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

The upsides of Census are as follows
* Intuitive UI for scheduling jobs and creating new data sources
* Satisfactory alerting for when jobs break
* Relatively stable data writes to Google Sheets (which I predominantly use).

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

* Columns don't always auto-calibrate when changing the data source/query
* Perception that there is not as much transparency around which G Sheets the data writes out to
* Not great ability to reduce sprawl with similar or outdated queries + jobs

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A lot of our organization relies on Google Sheets, so my team predominantly uses Census to refresh data into Google Sheets from our database so we can syndicate our data out to more users who aren't as SQL Savvy.

 ### 39. Incredible tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

It's so easy to use, super intuitive. The integrations are very easy to setup and there are so many integrations available. It's saved our company so much time and freed up our data team to work on more complex data problems

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

It can be difficult to gauge how many fields you need when setting up a sync, and it's quite easy to reach the maximum number of fields. It'd be really helpful to see a list of the fields that are actually in use and for which tools, in order to optimise the number of fields in use

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use various tools that we need to sync our user data to. Historically, everytime we needed to integrate a new dataset to a new tool, our data team would have to do all of the leg work, pulling them away from other projects. This way, anyone can add new data integrations and we can leverage our user data across all of our apps

 ### 40. Fine product, complex costing, terrible treatment.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** jacob N. | Senior Data Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

I used their netsuite connector to move data to databricks. Their integrations work fine and were easy to setup. You can choose how frequent you want the data to be synced and its easy to add new tables.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

I have been using Fivetran for three months now and have been through 3 Account managers (Due to restructuring). My current manager tricked me into an annual contract by promising me discounts which were never applied. The costing is calculated based on Monthly Active Rows, which non of to account managers understood and could warn / provide feedback on expensive tables like transactionaccountingline table (non-incremental) which is necessary for Netsuite and also part of Fivetran's official dbt models. Overall its been a turbulent experience leaving me to write this review suggesting to look into other vendors.

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ELT, Fivetran like many other companies are trying the manage the complex engineering of ELT. This idea is nice as companies can focus on what is important and not spend a lot of time doing data engineering.

 ### 41. Reverse ETL made easy

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

We use Censue for our reverse ETL process. We send data from our Data Warehouse to our CRM system. Setting up Census is pretty easy and hassle-free. It comes with an intuitive UI to navigate for our users.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

Although having a plug n play tool like Census helps operationalize processes pretty quickly, one drawback is there is no visibility of what's going on behind the scenes. That makes us nervous about handing the process over to nontechnical people.

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Census is primarily being used for reverse ETL purposes at our company. We have stored data and logic in our Data Warehouse which is then sent to our CRM system for sales reps.

 ### 42. Intuitive, powerful way to manage ETL processes without relying on an engineering team.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew D. | Business Intelligence Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

Fivetran allows me to get the data I need from all of our most common SaaS tools in a very straightforward, easy-to-understand way. Setting up new connections is extremely simple and reliable in an engineering agnostic way which 1) allows our engineers to focus on the product and 2) puts the power in our hands as an analytics team to quickly and efficiently stand up data pipelines.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

Fivetran in general checks all the boxes of what we need, but you need to be careful when setting up new connections to make sure to only select the data you need. In the past, I've accidently synced huge tables that I dont need the data from which caused an increase in our monthly cost. That said, the cost wasnt too much and I was easily able to turn off the sync on that table and return to normal.

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fivetran gives us out-of-the-box integrations into our data warehouse from our most commonly used SaaS tools, allowing us to easily pool all of our data within our warehouse.

 ### 43. Easy to use and very reliable ELT tool with great set of connectors offering granular data

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

The simple interface makes use of the tool extremely simple for the less technical analysts / non-Data Engineers. Only basic SQL code is required to perform comprehensive ELT processes.

The vast number of connectors makes accessing all data from across the business incredibly simple and quick.

The recent addition of dbt makes the set up and management of the transformation layer much easier and the off-the-shelf dbt models that Fivetran offer are a great starting point.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

In order to perform ELT fully, knowledge of dbt would be required to implement the downstream dependencies. Without this, it makes changing the ELT process more manual and error-prone.

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Collating all data from across the business into one data warehouse without the need for expensive Data Engineers. This has allowed me to maintain a small, nimble data team that provides maximum value to the business by joining up siloed data to uncover hidden insights that would otherwise have gone unnoticed if still working with disparate data sets.

 ### 44. Reliable connectors, responsive and helpful support

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yuan L. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

Connectors are reliable, and faults are resolved quickly by the team, who are responsive and communicative on Slack. Also love the destination field/column-based pricing, which works better for us than a row-based one.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

Wish that we could re-run multiple syncs at once (typically after fixing problems, or changing configurations)

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Teams need access to more information about customers and prospects within the tools they are using, e.g. CRM.

 ### 45. Working well for out of the box and custom connectors

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jay H. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

There is a wide variety of out of the box connectors for hundreds of sources and they all seem to work pretty well. I also like there isn't a charge on a per connector basis, it's based on rows.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

The customer connector setup works fine, however it takes a fair of technical work to write Lambda and integrate with FiveTran, I wonder if there could be a framework that could provide which would just work.

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

FiveTran is bringing data in for 4 different sources using out of the box connectors, we also write 2 of our custom connectors, to pull data from the source into our warehouse on a daily basis.

 ### 46. Fast and Easy integration from various Business tool to Data Lake/Warehouse

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

Super easy setup-and-forget system.
Row-based pricing.
Lots of integrations and destinations.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

Some bad surprises sometimes on number of rows synced.
Might not be Fivetran fault, but more about the source of data.
Yet the sudden spikes for e.g. Hubspot monthly is kinda a bad surprise sometimes.

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making all of our tools' (SFDC, Sheets, etc.) data queryable in a single place (Snowflake)

 ### 47. Powerful Reverse ETL

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Simone C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

As a business user, the clean UI is a big bonus. It makes it easy to see existing syncs and the associated configurations to understand whether they are setup according to business requirements.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

Would definitely like to see additional Matching Rules for certain tools (e.g. Mirroring for Gainsight).

Otherwise mainly excited for our tech team to leverage more features in Census to better leverage its capabilities.

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping push redshift data into our other tools (that don't either don't have existing redshift connectors or don't offer the flexibility we need). This decreases potential tech time and overhead otherwise needed to build such connections.

 ### 48. Effortless Integration for Real-Time Access to Clean and Accurate Data

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anna H. | Data Scientist, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

There are advantages I see everyday and interact with when it comes to Fivetran. Writing this review, I would pay attention to the details of the Fivetran in a positive tone.

I like the way we interact with the connectors. This is because Fivetran provides pre-built connectors for over 100 data sources, with databases, SaaS applications, cloud storage, and more. I can't not mention the Automated Data Pipelines. It means Fivetran automatically ingests, transforms, and loads data into the data warehouse, eliminating the need for manual data integration.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

Pricing. Its pricing model is based on the amount of data being processed, which makes it more expensive compared to others.

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Fivetran, we centralize data from many sources, such as databases, cloud applications, and local systems. Fivetran uses a fully managed method of data integration that does not require maintenance, which means that you do not need to spend time and resources on manual maintenance and updating of data connectors. This means that our data is automatically converted, downloaded and updated, allowing our company to access clean, accurate and complete data in real time.

 ### 49. Excellent tool for fast, plug-and-go ELT

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris L. | Data Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2022

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

Fivetran makes it extremely easy to set up a connector and get your data flowing to a destination right away. Out of the box, they have a huge selection of connectors to common data sources. And once connected, we've experienced minimal to no fuss with our connectors syncing the data on a consistent basis. Fivetran allows our small analytics team to focus our time in other areas instead of fussing with manual script solutions to try and access data from multiple sources.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

We were a bit surprised with the monthly cost based on the size of our company and data needs. It ended up being significantly higher than we anticipated. However, in the end, we still went with Fivetran due to how easy they've made our entire ELT process.

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**What do you like best about Fivetran?**

Census is so easy to use. For organizations with data siloed in their data warehouse or data lake, census makes it super easy to transform and leverage that data inside your other tooling systems.

I remember first being introduced to Census and within 30 minutes we had product data in our CRM. We had been talking about this project for two years prior and Salesforce quoted us an insane price for some custom tooling to achieve the same result. With Census, I piped product data into SFDC and had reporting spun up for Reps in a day. It was magic.

Oh, and it gets better. If you start leveraging a transformation tool like dbt to create models, you can do a ton of sophisticated data transforms and then pump it back into your CRM or tooling. Salesforce makes it a nightmare to do lead or account scoring, so you either have to do magic math with formula fields or have a developer / flow expert who can actually create something valuable. With Census powering the data flow you can write SQL models and provide insights to your teams that you never thought were possible.

**What do you dislike about Fivetran?**

Improved data monitoring would be nice, but other than that it is really easy to use and they make it pretty simple to get models up and running. I am not sure if you can do this, but updating records only if the prior value is changed would be nice too, though you can control this in your data modeling.

**What problems is Fivetran solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Census solves the gap between the massive amount of data that exists at companies and the ability to surface that data to your employees in a digestible and clean way in the tools they directly interface with.
