## About eClinicalWorks
eClinicalWorks® (eCW), a leading healthcare IT company, provides innovative software solutions to healthcare providers of all types, including health centers, ASCs, urgent care, and more. eCW has been a trusted partner in the healthcare industry since 1999, with over 180,000 physicians and more than one million medical professionals using their solutions. eCW EMR is a comprehensive, secure, scalable, intelligent cloud solution that allows providers to access their data from anywhere at any time. It features cutting-edge technology that help you develop processes and strategies to improve office efficiencies. These “AI assistants” include PRISMA, a health information search engine that brings together patient records from a variety of healthcare systems; Scribe, an automated documentation tool that saves time and enhances accuracy; and Eva, a virtual assistant that gives providers access to patient histories, health records, and scheduling at the point of care. These features streamline workflows and automate administrative tasks so providers can focus more on patient care. eCW RCM and billing services allow healthcare providers to streamline billing processes and improve their bottom line. Whether providers manage their billing in-house or outsource it to eCW, they can be assured of high-quality services and achieve up to a 98% or higher first-pass acceptance rate. The in-office billing solutions provide increased control over the billing process, improved accuracy and efficiency, and reduced costs associated with outsourcing. Providers can also automate their billing solutions using bots, which can help reduce administrative burdens and improve accuracy. For providers who prefer to outsource their billing, eCW services provide experienced billing professionals who use the latest technology and best practices to ensure timely and accurate billing while providing comprehensive reporting and analytics to help providers manage their revenue cycle. eCW offers patient engagement tools that benefit front office staff and healthcare providers. For front office staff, online check-in and online appointment booking tools can significantly reduce administrative burdens and improve patient satisfaction. For healthcare providers, tools such as Patient Portal, Messenger, healow Pay, and telehealth can improve care coordination, enhance the patient experience, and provide virtual care options. With the rise of Value-Based Care, the healthcare industry has shifted its focus from quantity to quality of care. Providers are now incentivized to deliver high-quality care that produces positive patient outcomes rather than focusing on more services. This shift has also created new challenges, particularly in care coordination, coding, and population health management. eCW bridges these gaps by offering tools including HEDIS, Chronic Care Management, Transition Care Management, Care Plan Oversight, and Remote Patient Monitoring, enabling providers to better manage patient populations, and improve care coordination. These tools help providers deliver high-quality care that meets the needs of both patients, providers, and payers, positioning them for success in the Value-Based Care landscape. eCW offers a comprehensive suite of healthcare IT solutions that help providers deliver high-quality care while improving practice efficiency and revenue cycle management.

## eClinicalWorks Reviews
  ### 1. Versatile EHR for Clinical Operations, Care Coordination, and Population Health

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Reneisha H. | Clinical Program Manager, Hospital & Health Care, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 04, 2026

**What do you like best about eClinicalWorks?**

One of the biggest strengths of eClinicalWorks is its flexibility and ability to be customized to fit different clinical workflows. It supports high-volume practices by offering a wide range of features for documentation, scheduling, and care coordination. The system also allows for detailed reporting and data tracking, which is helpful for managing quality metrics and population health initiatives. Once optimized, it can support both clinical and operational efficiency across the practice.

**What do you dislike about eClinicalWorks?**

One downside of eClinicalWorks is that some workflows can feel unintuitive and require additional training or customization to use efficiently. Reporting and data extraction can also be limited without advanced configuration, which can make it difficult to quickly access certain population health/quality data. Additionally, occasional system lag or glitches can interrupt workflow and require users to restart or re-enter information.

**What problems is eClinicalWorks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

eClinicalWorks helps centralize patient information, streamline documentation, and support care coordination across the practice. It allows us to manage scheduling, clinical documentation, and patient communication within one system, which improves overall workflow efficiency. The platform also supports tracking of quality metrics and patient data, which is important for population health management and identifying care gaps. This helps improve patient outcomes while also supporting operational and reporting needs in a high-volume clinical setting.

  ### 2. Affordable but MAJOR Interface Error: Ordering meds requires MULTIPLE CLICKS.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael C. | Senior Lecturer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2026

**What do you like best about eClinicalWorks?**

Physician with extensive experience on EMR committee for large system. When I started up my new single physician practice, the cost was reasonable. It's a reasonable EMR, I can provide care. I DO like the note templates, they save me TONS of time, similar to another EMR I used. I've used the largest EMR and not 1 physician thinks any EMR is perfect, so the review that states "There is nothing to be disliked about eCW" is suspect and I can't believe it was written by a physician. I found the orientation training to be good because I've used EMRs for years and so asked VERY specific questions and took lots of notes. The "quick order" box works well for meds or tests that you have designated as a "favorite", otherwise you have to do multiple clicks to order a new medication. Also chose it because one competitor's test version didn't allow me to build simple template, and Athena wouldn't even let me beta test it because I wasn't credentialed with 5 payors.

**What do you dislike about eClinicalWorks?**

MAJOR Reason for low rating: MAJOR Interface/UI Error: NO SINGLE BUTTON TO ORDER MEDS during a visit!! I'm an internist. I order meds for 95% of visits. Requires a MINIMUM of 2 clicks, sometimes the 2nd is on 2 TINY little letters ("Rx") like playing a bad video game. This is a major time suck. I've discussed this for 2 years now and as of 2026 it's on the "enhancement" list, which so far means: nothing has changed. I built order sets but have to click OUT of the note to get to that menu, it's then slow/laggy when loading those screens, requires multiple clicks to confirm which meds I want and THEN have to associate each with a diagnosis. Action button color/location inconsistency (most at bottom, some at top (?) and most blue but...not all?) creates confusion, wasted clicks and slows me down. When chatting with a patient in the portal/inbox, the text from earlier in a single discussion/thread is not carried over so you have to click out of the chat to find the older text. If I send a message to a patient it doesn't always show up in the "encounter" screen, which requires clicking on the "hub" then checking a log. Checking when a med was last ordered is improving and will show up on the MEDICATIONS screen more often, but not 100%, which then requires multiple clicks to the HUB to view "eprescription log". Again, VERY clunky vs being able to refill meds with a single click. Customer support staff, more than once during onboarding/training or when addressing some follow up issues committed the following errors a) literally didn't bother to read the very specific question in my email or b) didn't bother to listen to the very specific question that I asked. I've been on EMR committees for large organizations, I understand the complexity of questions we ask as physicians and the complexity of the systems. There are medications that come up when searching that once clicked, don't allow us to order them, so the database should be cleaned up without me asking tech support.

**What problems is eClinicalWorks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's an EMR. Obvious answer is patient care.

  ### 3. Improved Workplace Efficiency

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Connie J. | Procurement Specialist, Government Administration, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2026

**What do you like best about eClinicalWorks?**

Upon initial use of eClinical Works, I was a bit overwhelmed. I thought it was so much to learn and almost thought it was no way I'd get the hang of it. But that changed with less time than I expected. I love that everything is in one place, such as billing, coding, labs, x-rays, doctor and nurses' notes, patient medications, the capability to schedule appointments, and so much more. I also find it very easy to interact with staff when needed. The reports feature is heaven sent. I moved up to billing and coding and thought I'd have to utilize another system. Luckily, I was able to do that with eClinical Works, and I loved that I didn't have to learn another system.
Moreover, when labs are done, we are able to seamlessly connect with LabCorp, so we don't have to worry about inputting a lot of manual information. Since COVID, TeleHealth has become very popular. eClinical Works allows the providers to utilize this feature to interact with patients. Patients love that they don't have to travel and can be seen from the comfort of their homes.
eClinical Works has been a game changer when it comes to patients. We can pull charts faster and it omits the use of paper and pens. Aside from the speed, I just love the overall efficiency of eClinical Works.
Lastly, when we have questions, support is amazing!

**What do you dislike about eClinicalWorks?**

The downsides of eClinical works are occasional lag when they're multiple users logged in, reporting can be tedious and complex if not properly trained, and slow customer support.
I've experience slow performance when I've pulled report and when during training with multiple users.
When I first started using the reporting feature, it was kind of complicated to learn and customize.
Even though customer support is good, it can be slow with long wait times. I had an issue that required more than once escalation which caused me to turn to another program.

**What problems is eClinicalWorks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

eClinical Works benefits not only the staff, but the patients as well. All of the patient information is readily available which I love. I don't have to go somewhere else to view labs or imaging or to send a referral. Since I've moved to billing and coding, eClinical Works has helped me bill faster and more efficiently with the built-in checks.

  ### 4. Easy to Use and Understand, with Helpful Color Segregation

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aatir N. | Virtual Assistant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2026

**What do you like best about eClinicalWorks?**

The best thing about eClinicalWorks is that it is easy to use and understand, which makes a small-cap business to be its first option with all features. I also like its color segregation scheme to differentiate work, which makes my job and focus easy.

**What do you dislike about eClinicalWorks?**

I really feel eClinicalWorks is way lagging and gets stuck on an option while trying to multitask. eClinicalWorks is not matching human pace and its processing time. Also, the updates are sometimes ruining its efficiency due to the changes.

**What problems is eClinicalWorks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

eClinicalWorks is useful in maintaining my patients' health records, encrypted and secure. I can save large amounts of data on patients with privacy and benefit myself by saving my time whenever medical records need to be transferred.

  ### 5. Comprehensive but Needs Better Performance

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chardae A. | Identity Access Management Admin, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about eClinicalWorks?**

I like that eClinicalWorks is an all-in-one platform, providing clinical documentation, billing, and scheduling. It's particularly helpful for me because it allows admins to easily update security and access for users, enabling them to perform their day-to-day jobs efficiently.

**What do you dislike about eClinicalWorks?**

I'm not happy with the performance when trying to do basic copy and paste. There's a delay when pasting from Excel, and during high volume times, it can really lag.

**What problems is eClinicalWorks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use eClinicalWorks to build provider and staff profiles. It solves access to patient info and charting, and is an all-in-one platform for clinical documentation, billing, and scheduling. It allows easy updates to security and user access.
