Affordability and Ease of Use: As a startup company very early in the business, one of our main targets is also to keep everything within budget and minimise the cost, wherever possible. DOMO helps a great deal in that. Not only is it affordable, but also very easy to use. The visualizations, charts and dashboards are easy to understand and grasp. 2. Mobile Accessibility: One of the best things about DOMO is its mobile application, both for android as well as iOS users. The CXOs of the company can view dashboards and insights easily on their fingertips through the mobile app. 3. Customer Support: DOMO provides good support and customer care options and the support team is always ready to help. **What do you dislike about Domo?** Despite being easy-to-use and affordable, there are a few not-so-big disadvantages of using DOMO. You won't see much of the themes and creative visuals here. Only limited themes are there which can make almost all the dashboards/apps look similar. Have low in-house technical expertise, the learning curve for domo is relatively low and you have large capabilities with magic ETL and building visualizations. Connecting outside data sources is a breeze with their built in connectors (outside of MS Office), and domo will provide support when creating new connectors. The tools works best as a daily driver for your analytics needs. A place to push all disparate data source and manipulate the data for them to work together. **What do you dislike about Domo?** Products have become more buggy since the introduction of app studio in April of 2024. Training is good for the core product but it is difficult to find education on new products/tools. There are seeminly infinite ways to manipuate the datasets and plenty of card options to build. **What do you dislike about Domo?** Sharing dashboards and cards in the proper way is a little difficult. Often times, you end up having to share a dashboard, a card, a dataset, and and number inbetween in order for someone to have full access to the data you are trying to present. It's not always difficult, but the bigger the project, the more difficult it is. Especially if you are a builder, but not necessarily an admin. I would also love the ability to emulate users so I can see what it looks like from their perspective. Every other tool I use has it, except this one! **What problems is Domo solving and how is that benefiting you?** It gives us a platform to inport data from all of our other process so that we can build dashboards to easily find information. The red is a powerful motivator. The noise it creates by seeing "red" when the prospects have actually been followed up on is distracting. I use Domo everyday for my job duties (creating and enhancing content for the end users). It allows for integration of many data sources into one platform for reporting and gathering insights. If I get a question on Domo while I am away from my computer, the mobile app allows me to answer questions and share insights in a pinch. I also love the resource platforms that Domo provides such as the Community Forum, Support, or Domo Central pages with reference guides on Domo function. **What do you dislike about Domo?** While I understand Domo being in it everyday, it does seem to have a steep learning curve for new users and those that are not as data-driven. Sometimes things in Domo break for apparently no reason (a view breaks or doesn't allow a certain function that one would expect in a query view or a data connection breaks). I will also add that performance can sometimes lag with large datasets & dashboards. Loading time increases to access pages or analyzer. **What problems is Domo solving and how is that benefiting you?** Domo allows me to connect many data sources that outside of Domo are siloed but in Domo it allows me to report out data that would otherwise not able to be reported. The different pages and embeded pages allow me to easily organize and manage content of pages. ### 25. Ease of use: I was able to quickly come in and operate Domo. 2. Magic ETL: My favorite feature is the Magic ETL. I can wrangle and manipulate the data in all sorts of ways to get it just the way I need it. 3. Beast Modes and fixed functions: What can't be done in ETL (or needs to be done on the spot) can be accomplished with Beast Modes in the vizulization. Fixed functions allow you to stack aggregations (sums of sums, sum of maxes, etc) **What do you dislike about Domo?** For instance, yesterday I was creating a pivot table and needed the cells to change color based on whether the dollar amounts met a specific threshold. Although there are several ways to change cell colors, I encountered some challenges. Initially, I attempted to use the color preference feature, but it required the cell to contain an exact value. I had a beast mode that categorized values as “Met expectations” or “Did not meet expectations,” and I wanted to highlight the dollar amounts in red or green accordingly. However, I could only color code based on the dollar amount itself. Given the variability in thresholds and the impracticality of specifying every possible dollar amount, this approach was not feasible. Next, I tried embedding the color change in HTML within the beast mode, which typically works, but it was ineffective in a pivot table. I then attempted to use green and red square emojis (🟩 and 🟥) concatenated with the dollar amount as a visual cue. While this provided a color signal before the dollar amount, it did not change the text color and resulted in the loss of comma separators for thousands. Although I could have programmed the beast mode to include these separators, time constraints prevented me from doing so. Ultimately, I opted for a separate column: one displaying the green and red emojis and another showing the dollar amount. This solution, while functional, was not ideal. **What problems is Domo solving and how is that benefiting you?** Domo offers quick and customizable charts suitable for users of various functions, along with impressive ETL and drill-down capabilities. ### 26. DOMO can answer any question, sometimes multiple ways. I know there is a way around this and Domo is a very intelligent system however I do not have time to sit through the modules. Domo surpasses all of them because there's seemingly no cap to what you can accomplish. It is very easy to self-administer the system, and it even has its own data warehouse which provides us with efficiencies. I especially love that the instance is so customizable, with brand colors and HTML bricks. As an organization, we have come to really rely on the tool and use it all day, everyday to help drive decision making. Whenever we have issues, our illustrious client team always helps us to think outside the box and come up with a great solution. All in all, I am very pleased with my experience. **What do you dislike about Domo?** Sometimes, obvious enhancements would make life easier in the system, such as being able to sort preview results. The chart properties layout isn't always intuitive, either—there are so many options that it becomes hard to know where to find certain options. **What problems is Domo solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is solving client churn but examing the factors that may drive a churn in retention. It also allows our teams to work collaboratively since we are a distributed workforce. Finally, we are able to make product-related investment decisions based on performance. ### 45. From bringing data into the tool, transforming it, creating cards (pivot tables/pivot charts), and sharing those cards with executives and business partners, Domo makes this intuitive and quick. The implementation of Domo is easy and you can continue to add more datasets over time. Integrating our datasets is simple enough as they work with RedShift and PostgreSQL. This ease keeps me in Domo every day, and somedays I find myself in Domo more than Excel. **What do you dislike about Domo?** Domo has continued to innovate and create new features that puts in parity with competing products like Tableau. I don't have any dislikes about the product. **What problems is Domo solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our executives and business partners expect up-to-date data when making decisions. Without Domo, we would be making manual updates in Excel or Google sheets, which is not scalable with the number of datasets Domo updates for us each day. The drag-and-drop functionality within the magic ETL makes it easy to create dashboards and visualizations without extensive training. There are a multitude of connectors to various other applications allowing you to easily bring in data from a CRM and other sources such as Meta Ads, Google Sheets etc. It is incredibly easy and intuative to built highly customizable dashboards from the data and the UI for these dashboards is great. The best value add from Domo is its seemless aggregatation of data from disparate sources into a single view as well as its interactivety allowing dashboard users to filter and drill down into cards. **What do you dislike about Domo?** While Domo is very user-friendly, some of its more advanced features and functionalities can require additional training and experience which presents a steep learning curve, particularly for users who are unfamiliar with data analytics tools. Although, Domo offers customization, the visualisation options and pre-built templates are quite limiting. **What problems is Domo solving and how is that benefiting you?** Domo has allowed me to easily aggregate data from various sources into a single dataset as well as apply additional formulas and calculations to create additional viws from data that would not previously have been connect. This is crucial for accurate and timely analysis, allowing stakeholders utilising dashboards to view and digest a total view of data and performance. ### 50. The fairly new ability to nest calculations is a bonus for clean data manipulation. **What do you dislike about Domo?** Domo has a couple of glitches that are a bit inconvenient. Firstly, editing text boxes on a dashboard can force you to reload the page a few times so that the input text saves instead of blanking the textbox. Second, if you spend too much time editing a card without saving periodically the card will not allow you to save. The second glitch is a large inconvenience, especially when multiple calculations have been created on the card edit page. **What problems is Domo solving and how is that benefiting you?** Domo makes it easy to collaborate across different devices and teams due to it's cloud-based platform. I can make edits on a card or dashboard and the next person just has to reload the page to see updates.
