## About DocAssistant
DocAssistant is an AI-powered medical scribe, documentation platform, clinical decision support system, and point-of-care billing tool built for acute care. Designed by emergency physicians, DocAssistant captures patient encounters through ambient listening, voice dictation, or manual input and generates structured notes—SOAP, H&P, and MDM—in real time. Clinicians reduce documentation time by over 80%, improving both workflow efficiency and time spent with patients. As a clinical decision support tool, DocAssistant delivers real-time, evidence-based recommendations for differential diagnoses, diagnostics, and treatments. Powered by the StatPearls knowledge base, all suggestions include citations to ensure transparency and clinical confidence. Where DocAssistant stands out is in real-time billing optimization, specifically for emergency department coding. While providers document, DocAssistant evaluates notes against the 2023 AMA E/M guidelines, identifies gaps, and prompts appropriate updates—all before the chart is finalized. This minimizes underbilling, improves coding accuracy, and supports revenue integrity at the point of care. Optimized for high-acuity, multi-patient workflows, DocAssistant enables seamless chart switching, supports custom note templates, and updates in real time as your patient encounter progresses. Whether in EDs, urgent care, or telehealth, it scales easily from solo providers to enterprise deployments. DocAssistant is the only platform that listens, sees, and guides. We fuel better patient outcomes and optimize billing.

## DocAssistant Reviews
 ### 1. Changed this ER doctor's life

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joe B. | Emergency Physician, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2025

**What do you like best about DocAssistant?**

I am an ER doc with over 25 years of experience. I see a lot of patients - sometimes more than 30 patients in an 8 hour shift. Since I work at an RVU based shop it makes sense to see as many patients as possible and do the charting later. So there is no time to dictate while on shift so I typically spend 2-3 hours after my shift dictating charts into the EMR (Epic). When I am working 2 or 3 shifts in a row I can get lazy and save the dictations until after the string of shifts is done. That means I'll spend 6-8 hours on my day off doing my charting.

Not anymore. this software has changed my life. I am typically totally finished with all charts within about 15 minutes of shift end. Sometimes I'm even done before the end of shift. Absolutely amazing. I'm no longer dictating on my day off.

I never want to work another shift with this. To me this is worth way more than the $200/month cost. Way more.

It is incredibly accurate and seems to sift through the nonsense.

But its not just an AI Ambient Scribe tool, it also:

1. Allows you take take a screenshot of all the labs, imaging results, etc., and smartly integrates that into the MDM and patient discharge instructions.

2. Patient discharge instructions? yep. It generates patient-specific, context-specific, patient discharge instructions. For example, if there is an incidental finding on a CXR, lung a lung nodule, the software recognizes that and adds it to the patient discharge instructions. Its impossible to just forget to alert patients to incidental findings that need surveillance by their PMDs. How does this integrate into Epic? you just cut and paste from an open browser while logged into the software. you paste into that open text box in the Dispo tab of epic. incredible.

3. Billing - it smartly generates CPT and ICD codes (if you want to see them) which helps with cross checking your billing companies accuracy. Don't care or have time to do that after the fact? Cool. but the software also gives you real time feedback on your charting by recognizing a chart that would be a Level 5 by adding appropriate elements.

Again, the ROI on the $200 investment is uncalculable.

**What do you dislike about DocAssistant?**

There WERE a few minor UI tweaks that I thought would be helpful. I gave feedback and was emailed directly by Nathan Murray himself (DocAssistant CEO) and the UI tweaks were incorporated into a new software update the NEXT DAY. Incredibly responsive!

**What problems is DocAssistant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

See my extended response to the previous question.
1. Saves me hours of time by finishing my charts during my shifts.
2. helps with patient communication by context and patient-specific patient discharge instructions
3. improves billing and coding.
4. It also helps with Clinical Decision making by providing real time clinical decision support.
5. HIPAA- compliant

 ### 2. Tried a lot of AI Scribes

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joffre J. | Medical Director and Locum Tenens Emergency Medicine Physician, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2025

**What do you like best about DocAssistant?**

The interface is streamlined and easy to use. The AI only focuses on the pertinent details to make excellent patient plans and focused mdms without useless percentages in differentials like other AI scribes I have used in the past

**What do you dislike about DocAssistant?**

I had an issue creating templates before however the owner and engineer were able to resolve this within hours! The team is very responsive to feedback.

**What problems is DocAssistant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work in 5 different ER hospital systems at a variety of different sites. Having an AI scribe is helpful with the high volume of patients I see each shift so I can focus on seeing patients quickly and getting orders placed without having to worry about spending excessive time charting from memory or typing what the patient says while evaluating them (allowing me to maintain rapport and eye contact).

I have used freed and Lindy which were both ok but Docassistant.ai is the best platform I have seen that documents truly within the language of an ER physician.

 ### 3. Product Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt S. | Program Director Emergency Medicine, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2025

**What do you like best about DocAssistant?**

Applications that assist in maximizing the completion of essential documentation and patient care are crucial for emergency medicine physicians. Fortunately, this is one of those products that not only saves time with chart completion, but also offers the added benefit of providing real-time feedback to help ensure that critical diagnoses and evaluation options are not missed. Taken together, these features make this an outstanding product.

**What do you dislike about DocAssistant?**

With any new product, there is always a learning curve before you can use all its features efficiently. This isn't a flaw specific to this product, but rather something that applies to all new products in general.

**What problems is DocAssistant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Multitasking is crucial for emergency medicine physicians, especially in chaotic situations. In an environment filled with distractions and constant demands from different directions, having clinical decision support acts as an important safety net. It provides reassurance and helps maintain patient safety when the pressure is high and focus is divided.

 ### 4. Made my work life balance so much better

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Allan J. | Emergency Physician Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2025

**What do you like best about DocAssistant?**

I am an emergency provider, who would be bogged down with charts one the regular. This software has helped cut down on my chart time and improved my quality of life by miles. I actually get to rest on my days off instead of trying to catch up on charts. The quality of charts, the “do not miss” ddx, and the auto generated patient education are super helpful in my practice. I could not recommend this software enough.

**What do you dislike about DocAssistant?**

This software had a hard time working with the bad basement wifi in my hospitals emergency room, but recent updates have fixed that issue!

**What problems is DocAssistant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My billing has significantly improved with charting phrases I previously did not commonly use. It also helps develop a detailed note in a matter of seconds, from a patient interactions.

 ### 5. Increase efficiency; Better patient care

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jamal J. | Emergency Medicine Physician, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2025

**What do you like best about DocAssistant?**

DocAssitant is a flexible and adaptable, ambient scribe. I have found that with this particular ambient scribe, I have had more real-time documentation, which has allowed me to send patient's to the floor ICU with at least pending notes and medical decision-making documented versus prior due to a busy shift sometimes it was difficult to get back to the computer to write at the MDM for a sick patient.
I used to spend 2 to 3 hours after my shift charting, but now I can use that time for chart reviews and follow-up with patients to see how they're doing on an outpatient basis.
It also has several nice features, such as real-time MDM updates. Simply by voice recording or typing text, it will adjust the MDM and timestamp your plan. It also produces patient discharge instructions that are easy to read and will nearly mirror exactly what you said to the patient regarding return precautions.
I currently use Cerner and Epic, and have found that integrating into both systems has been easy.
I use it for every patient, and sometimes it has changed my medical decision-making as I've added my HPI and looked at the differential, as I've had more time to think with this copiloting system.
Nathan, an emergency medicine physician, has been doing a great job receiving customer feedback to improve this product. I've used other ambient scribes, and they continue to be stagnant without improvements.
This product has been a game changer to my workflow and I would highly recommend it to any physician who wishes to improve their efficiency and patient-centered care.

**What do you dislike about DocAssistant?**

Earlier on, there were some troubles with recording on the phone without having the app open; however, Nathan has his team quickly fix this.

**What problems is DocAssistant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Doctor have been hours of their time, writing history and physicals, documenting for billing purposes and not for patient care purposes. This ambient scribe does medical transcription and has some clinical decision support features. I do not believe that it's clinical support features are overwhelming and just enough supporting that you in the correct direction and you're able to use what you want to use in omit what is unnecessary for your particular patient care. Now instead of spending multiple hours writing notes after your shift, you're able to spend more time thinking about the patient's present illness, how to properly treat it and spend more time with patients with sometimes helps build a rapport as well as trust. additionally I'm able to spend more time following up on patients after discharge to make sure that they are getting proper follow up. You wouldn't believe how many patients have said thank you for spending the time to hear my concerns, since I have began using this ambience scribe. Additionally my doctor discharge times have decreased as I would not let patients be discahrged or admitted until i was able to finish a majority of my note. My admistration has commented on how fast my discharges have improved.
