## About Diversion Version Control
Diversion is a modern, cloud-native alternative to Perforce, built for the scale of today’s game and creative productions. Its architecture supports parallel, asset-heavy workflows with fast branching, real-time collaboration, and stable performance under load, without the IT overhead of traditional version control systems. Built for studios working with engines like Unreal, large environments, procedural pipelines, or multi-disciplinary teams, Diversion adapts to the way modern productions operate. It offers teams that are building ambitious games, virtual productions, and large-scale 3D content, flexible deployment models (cloud or on-prem), seamless migration from Perforce, and an intuitive UI that supports both developers and artists. Diversion is becoming the version control standard for teams looking to iterate faster, automate more, and ship at the speed their projects demand. A few benchmarks: • Branch, commit 100K files and merge back to main in less than 60 sec • Slash costs by up to 70%
(vs. Perforce) • Migrate from P4 in days or even hours (!!!) W/O interrupting production • The most recommended VCS for Unreal ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Key capabilities include: High-performance version control for very large files and repositories Scalable cloud, hybrid, and on-prem deployments Seamless workflows for artists, programmers, and technical teams Fast syncs via smart caching and proxy architecture Branching and merging designed for real production pipelines Asset and code review with modern collaboration features Native integrations with Unreal Engine and industry-standard tools Diversion is used by professional studios to improve iteration speed, reduce infrastructure complexity, and modernize version control for real-time gaming and 3D productions.

## Diversion Version Control Reviews
 ### 1. Great Value, Fast Support, and Smooth Sync for Large Repos

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lucas N. | Founder & CEO of LNJ Studio, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Diversion Version Control?**

Good value for money. Support responds very quickly and helps resolve any issue. Unlike similar products on the market, it tries to rethink and reinvent some of the mechanisms for working with repositories. It takes a bit of getting used to, but it works very well - especially for teams where people are distributed, internet speeds aren’t great, and each commit can be tens of gigabytes in size.

**What do you dislike about Diversion Version Control?**

It’s a relatively new product on the market compared to its competitors, so there may be a few early growing pains, but they occur very rarely.

**What problems is Diversion Version Control solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It speeds up and simplifies project synchronization between team members.

 ### 2. The best version control for game development

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Games | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Diversion Version Control?**

It's extremely easy to set up, use, and maintain. I tried working with an artist friend using Git and I couldn't get her to understand it, but with Diversion things are much easier.

**What do you dislike about Diversion Version Control?**

The UI sometimes has issues, a lot of buttons in the nav bar.

**What problems is Diversion Version Control solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's a version control for game development that actually works.
Git is terrible with binary assets and it's very technical.
Perforce is ridiculously expensive and even harder to set up and maintain, with the only real option being self-hosting.
And Diversion works right out of the box with a great free tier for indies
