## Buddy Reviews
  ### 1. Easy to use even if you are not a devops

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samuel K. | Senior Javascript Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2020

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

It's interface and simplicity. It's the first time I'm using a UI to automatically deploy my apps and this was so easy. Has lots of built-in integrations, so it was very easy to setup and so far, very reliable. Currently on my pipeline to deploy a small project. Also their support is outstanding. One day I got an email from them, telling they found some potential error in my repo, using their lint. I could check and fix that, but I definitely wasn't expecting them to be so proactive, specially because I'm on the free plan.

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

Well, I've been using it for the past 4 months and it looks like it's still pretty new, so there are things they still don't have and yet, looks like they are implementing new features very fast.

**Recommendations to others considering Buddy:**

If you are testing something and don't want to go heads first on paying some app, give Buddy a try. It's very easy to use and so far, has been everything I needed.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy continuous deployment for small application.

  ### 2. Best ever CD/CI service I have used

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tue T. | Freelance consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2021

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

It is fast, easy to get up and running. Have used different competitors over the years, but this is by far the easiest and fastest

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

Nothing really, have everything I need..

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Needed a one place to generate and deploy my docker images.

  ### 3. Buddy does work!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

Ease of use, ability to streamline our team deployment process. We were using Beanstalk which seems archaic compared to this.

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

This is really such a minor thing, but the UI and aesthetic of the admin could use a big upgrade, or make it more simplistic. The layout is great and it's very functional, so this isn't a UX concern. Purely a design critique.

**Recommendations to others considering Buddy:**

Just do it.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Deployment process was fragmented and unreliable. This really changed the game for us.

  ### 4. Buddy-CI Mctekk review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wilkins O. | Devops, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 09, 2020

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

I like the flexibility, and the amount of actions that can be executed, I also really like the amount of integrations that you can do with other technological solutions.

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

The sandbox server is not very flexible, and I don't like that it doesn't support custom nginx conf.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pipelines from every custom projects.

  ### 5. Great place to start your CI/CD journey

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Enrique E. | DevOps, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

Buddy made it easy to start creating CI/CD pipelines, very intuitive interface and great integration. So far very happy with it's functionality and it's working really well with the team.

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

Lot's to love, very little to dislike. The only snags I ran into were from my own misunderstanding of how our Bitbucket ownership was setup.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps to standardize and automate our deployment.

  ### 6. Good and fast service

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mahmoud A. | DevOps Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

integration with almost every cloud service.

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

With the rapid update of the app, sometimes the app stops working for updates for 1-3 mins.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CI/CD it's perfect.

  ### 7. Great Product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zacery T. | Sr. AWS Devops Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2021

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

Easy of use and great UI. Great set of integrations!

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

There is nothing I really dislike about the product.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helpded solve the problems of getting the right code base delivered to the correct environments.

  ### 8. Reliable and the weekly hero!

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan L. | Senior Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

I love the feature where you can deploy based on your commits.

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

I have only been using it for 3 months so far. There isn't anything that is bothering me enough to report it here yet.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Continuous deployment for my code changes for a website.

  ### 9. Fantastic feature-set backed by a very intuitive & delightful UI.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Human Resources | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 02, 2020

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

I like that 100% of the time I have a task that involves logging into Buddy, I know I won't be let down. The overall UX is so intuitive that I was provisioning and orchestrating processes that I would have historically sought DevOps help for.

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

I think the trial is a little short. I wasn't fully prepared to try all of my use cases out in the short timeframe they offered but that's more on me. Really stretching here, everything else is fantastic and again, that was my lack of preparation.

**Recommendations to others considering Buddy:**

Their workflow and feature-set is so solid that you could have spun up a trial account, created a workspace and started CI/CD cycles in the time it took you to read my review. I'm 100% serious.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I don't have to worry about CI/CD... I just focus on what I enjoy doing most, writing application code. The primary benefit is the reduction in anxiety knowing that from a deployment perspective, Buddy is covering it. I just do my thing and it handles all of the rest, I'm happy, users are happy, win win.

  ### 10. The best ever DevOps tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vishnu G. | Backend Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 04, 2020

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

* Simplicity
* Ease of creating complex integrations in a single step
* The UI/UX of dashboard
* The level of transparancy of each tasks running and statuses in the pipeline

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

* Sometimes the dashboard hangs and updates does not happen realtime. Other than that nothing else I can think about.

**Recommendations to others considering Buddy:**

Keep innovating. You guys are doing great.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are doing the complete auto-deployment process using Buddy for all our backend as well as frontend stack. The best benifit I can tell you is as a systems guy, I don't have to worry about deployments of applications once it's configured with Buddy. Buddy takes care of everything.

  ### 11. Simple and Reliable, for advanced and begginer.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel Z. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2020

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

The simplicity to set up any workflow is incredible... I used to get tired just to think about other CI/CDs which requires a lot of work to get going.

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

Setup complete test repos are tricky to do.

**Recommendations to others considering Buddy:**

It is an awesome service. Just be sure it is affordable for your project.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For now we have a lot of workflows set-up on buddy. But now I'm trying to setup a test workflow.

  ### 12. Awesome automation tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Program Development | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

It is so easy to set up that we build a very simple process in our team and even non-tech people can set up new deployments now.

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

Nothing to say here. I guess that it is one of the best tools in the market.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Continuous deployment for Shopify stores. Easy to integrate with Shopify. Speed up our version delivery processes.

  ### 13. Simple, fast, and just works

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew F. | Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2020

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

Buddy has many pre-configured pipeline actions that made setting up AWS publishing to ECR and Elasticbeanstalk a breeze compared to competitors. Having built in slack integration made it very easy to see deployment progress via a slack CI channel.

Buddy has one of the fastest CI that's I've worked with. Spinning up a task takes seconds at most. We saved several minutes on each task by switching to Buddy from GitLab pipelines.

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

Setting up interactions on multiple pipelines can be confusing. Sometimes the pipelines miss a push to the repository

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We solved our previous slow ci testing and deployment with the blazing fast buddy works pipelines

  ### 14. Best Docker-based continuous integration and GUI

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** 💭 Patrick H. | President, UX Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 13, 2020

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

We've been using Buddy for years - first with their self-hosted setup, and now with their cloud offering. Buddy has made every step of CI/CD so so easy, and I couldn't imagine using anything else. It integrates with almost everything, and never lets us down.

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

I wish there were a cheaper option available than what we use, but still very happy with the service - just feel like there is a lot there we are paying for and not using.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Deploying PHP applications, running web pack builds, etc.

  ### 15. Buddy is fantastic, my go-to for CI/CD

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Glen H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2020

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

Their website is gorgeous and super user friendly. Great for noobs and pros alike.

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

Nothing really, so far Buddy meets all our needs and more.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a fairly complex Shopify deployment process that would be crazy to code manually. Buddy makes it a breeze,

  ### 16. Simple yet powerfull CI/CD system, easy to pick up for beginners.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dirk-Jan W. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2020

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

The best part about Buddy is that its is incredibly easy to pick up on. In no time you have a complete pipeline build in the easy to use UI. Afterwards (if you want to) you can export it to a yml file and put it in your source control. This way its easy to first setup your pipeline but still have the definition in your source control!

You create those pipelines by chaining actions, luckily there are a lot of actions available for almost every situation imaginable.

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

We noticed that a few options from the UI aren't available through the yml configuration, not sure if this is still the case but we haven't really used those features anyway.

It is a bit pricy but we work for customers so they get to pay for our usage.

Last time I tried there was no docker compose support, however having a quick look at the docs there seems to be some progress in this?

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Normally we always used Travis for our CI and Heroku to handle the CD part. However the Heroku servers are pretty limited so we had to look for another solution.
In the end we now run on digitalocean but we lost the CD part we were used to, Buddy managed to solve this and also took over as our CI tool since it is so much quicker than a lot of other tools around!

  ### 17. As someone who knows little about infra/platform, buddy is great

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

Simple and easy to set up main pipelines

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

A lot to learn about configuration if you want to do more advanced things.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Setup up simple and easy to use production and staging environments across our microservices.

  ### 18. Middle of the pack - limited use for Open Source, ugly yaml, some options in UI not in yaml

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hari S. | Senior Platform Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 15, 2020

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

The UI looks ok, has pages to configure things (should really all be in yaml though for revision control), UI design is better than some other CI systems I've used

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

Limited Open Source support (only 5 repos) so I have decommissioned this on most of my GitHub repos now in favour of other CI systems like GitHub Actions, Travis CI and Azure DevOps which are my top 3 (in that order, I still use a lot of other CI systems too, see https://github.com/harisekhon for a tonne of them).

The Yaml is a bit ugly with capitalized strings and too many explicit options from the generated default template.

Lots of options do not appear in the yaml to revision control, which would be ideal.

It's own quirks, where builds may get cancelled or fail for random reasons that aren't my code, eg. upstream apt repos are temporarily unavailable (unfortunately most CI systems don't detect and retry this properly so you must do some retries yourself).

Badge could be nicer looking, like GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Circle CI, Semaphore CI or the shields.io badges (shields.io supports tonnes of CI systems but not Buddy unfortunately, otherwise I would have replaced the "buddy.works" badge in my README.md with a nicer constructed one with flexible text, formatting & icon from shields.io)

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CI testing of build automation across disparate environments. You can see lots of my code and builds here:

https://github.com/harisekhon

  ### 19. It just works!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex B. | Software Engineer, Platform Interfaces, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2020

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

Buddy actually cares about the Developer and User experience! It feels like an easy-to-use GUI for DevOps.

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

Nothing so far! I should note that I'm just starting off with it.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used to use another service for a client's site I barely update. I went to login and realized they deleted my account for inactivity. I was already thinking about Buddy for other projects but that sealed it.

  ### 20. Make devops and developers to work smoothly

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ajay K. | DevOps Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 13, 2020

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

Buddy's GUI is really awesome and to create pipeline's using Buddy is really really simple. For a beginner who doesnt understand CICD much, start using Buddy and you will get to know everything related to CICD in a day. Buddy is also constantly improving and new features everyday.

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

For startups, they can reduce the price because they are more prone to pipeline failures and need more focus on pipelines so when they grow, their pipelines grow.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When I started using it, I brought this to 3 other organisations. It solved the most value-able part for me at least - "TIME"

  ### 21. Painless CI/CD, even for beginners

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gerry K. | Master Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2020

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

Ease of use
Great github integration
Decent build space

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

More docs/examples would be great. Although very beginner-friendly, some of the details, esp. related to build env. are not 100% clear

**Recommendations to others considering Buddy:**

If you want a painless, containerised CI/CD solution that integrates will with lots of existing technology. Buddy is worth a look

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automating build of firmware that requires a complex toolchain that I really don't want to have to manually deploy

  ### 22. A powerful and intuitive CI/CD tool with a beautiful, non-intimidating UI.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mike B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2020

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

* Beautiful, simple, and intuitive interface - Whether you are a novice or pro, you'll be able to create pipelines in no time. I compare this to the UI seen in Digital Ocean vs AWS.
 * Resources and documentation - Stuck on how to accomplish a task? More than likely, Buddy has already written a demo on the exact thing you are trying to do. Also, their support is top notch.
 * Actions and integrations - Buddy provides the building blocks you need to rule the CI/CD world. Don't let this beautiful app fool you, it's powerful!

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

Some documentation shows how to accomplish a specific task, however don't blindly copy that into your pipelines. It may not be optimized for production (ie: running PHP's built in development server).

Additionally, I originally signed up for a free account, however was unable to build anything useful with their free-tier limits. I ultimately, had to upgrade to a paid plan to utilize the service.

**Recommendations to others considering Buddy:**

If you prefer using the UI of Digital Ocean over AWS, then you will like using Buddy. It's UI provides novices with a non-intimidating way to build powerful CI/CD pipelines.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Buddy enables our organization to run CI/CD across multiple environments. It provides the building blocks required to put complex pipelines together. Our organization has realized speedy deployments that we can count on. Additionally, we've built in test runners to ensure branches are always passing appropriate checks.

  ### 23. Simple and easy CI/CD that just works!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Peter B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 17, 2020

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

I like how easy and simple it is to get started, especially with all their well-written guides.
Also, the whole interface is so sleek and easy to use, which is something a lot of other competitors lack.

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

The pricing is a bit steep. But other than that, nothing really comes to mind.

**Recommendations to others considering Buddy:**

I was hesitant to start using Buddy, but I'm really glad I did, as it's by far the best CI/CD platform I've used.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've tried many different CI/CD solutions, and either they lack features, are horrible to use if you want to do something out of the ordinary or is heavy tied-in to a specific way of doing things

  ### 24. Awesome for chaining together pipelines

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Connor G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2020

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

- pre-built action ecosystem
- Prompt and friendly support

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

- yaml syntax is verbose. I have to write a lot configuration
- Can't handle pull request builds

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Ability to hold for manual approval on builds
- Can chain pipelines together spanning multiple repositories

  ### 25. Fantastic

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abdulazeem M. | DevOps Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2020

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

Every bash script or YML steps converted into GUI which is nice I love it

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

till now there is not, but I think everything will be nice

**Recommendations to others considering Buddy:**

It is easy to use it and very well documentation. I am zero experience in building pipelines or CI/CD but with buddy.works everything was easy to use. Really I love you guys. you solved my nightmare issue.
Thank a lot :)

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CI/CD pipelines

  ### 26. Simple to use Service

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2020

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

I found it intuitive to use and never needed to request help from their support teams. Provides a good set of functionality on the free tier for small teams, projects or simply evaluation. I am pleased with the ability to manage pipeline as code or simply configure via their UI. Authentication with Github a plus for me.

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

I was unable to run my golang builds on the free tier, but took the plunge given my satisfaction with the remainder of the features. Am glad I did.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I wanted a hosted CI/CD solution for my freelance work. This has enabled me to just that. On push to origin, my code is built, tested and deployed out to Amazon Web Services.

  ### 27. Simple, easy and feature packed!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jamie H. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2020

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

I like the ease of set up, it's so easy to set up an automated pipeline.

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

Nothing really, its a great system, overall it could use a UI revamp to make it less busy, but it's laid out well and not confusing like other CI/CD tools.

**Recommendations to others considering Buddy:**

It may or may not suit your needs, but I found it easy to set up and a tool that doesn't hinder your processes, instead, compliments them. I found the process quite refreshing and easy to implement.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Buddy is helping us with our devops requirements. We can't justify hiring dedicated devops, so it's extremely important that all "Devs" can easily use Buddy.

  ### 28. Awesome, Simple and easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adnan M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 13, 2020

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

It is simple and easy to configure to deploy anything.

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

UI is not that simple it takes time to learn it.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is an easy and simple solution to deploy anything and automating the server

  ### 29. Very fast and intuitive

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alessandro G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2020

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

Love the quick links to the projects and the guge number of integrations

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

Nothing really relevant, maybe sometimes assigning old users to new projects can be a bit tricky

**Recommendations to others considering Buddy:**

If you have lots of different deployment types, Buddy is a must.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Buddy is helping us streamline the deployment of our web and mobile projects. We achieved more orderly management of our projects and destination servers

  ### 30. Moved my scripts to Buddy and I love it!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erwin R. | Innovator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

It is very simple to setup, I usually do not enjoy dealing with CI systems, but in this case, this was painless.

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

It is quite pricey the moment you need more than the free tier

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I generate the arduboy.ried.cl website after people contribute in my repo and also compile the firmware portapack.ried.cl, those two tasks were a pain to deal with because they are quite long

  ### 31. Super easy and straight forward ci/cd

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Devin F. | Public Safety Telecommunicator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 11, 2020

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

Buddy has made continuous deployment a dream. It was super easy to set up, maintain, and has never failed me. I push an update to my side and it’s live. Couldn’t ask for a better platform.

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

The UI can sometimes be a little confusing but in fairness, all questions about it are answered in documentation.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Buddy solves the need for setting up quick CI/CD.

  ### 32. Simple and easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Faizul H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 29, 2020

User interface and the facts that it is easy to setup

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

Nothing. All good and acceptable for my usage.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy for continuous development and deployment

  ### 33. Rather Useful and Supportive Build Tool

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Justin L. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

After using Buddy for a while I have come to find it an extremely useful build tool, it allows for me to easily push changes to my repo and know they will go through a set action plan, which will compile and test the code in the process!

Buddy Support, all be it slow sometimes, is rather helpful and they will frequently try their best to help.

Overall, if your missing SFTP Automation from a Repo, this tool is an amazing first (and maybe last) step!

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

Some of their actions do not work as intended and sometimes actions are a little limited.

Buddy support will, however, try their best to solve your issue (after they respond).

They don't like updating actions that are already made, which can be annoying, however their actions are normally just about enough.

**Recommendations to others considering Buddy:**

Overall, if your missing SFTP Automation from a Repo, this tool is an amazing first (and maybe last) step!

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have solved numerous build issues using buddy, ranging from switching over IP to localhost credentials, to building and compiling code.

The main benefit I see is that I do not have to SFTP any changes I make to a product, it does it for me, and tests it.

It also responds the text and outputs information I select into a slack channel, to add to this, you can also make internal containers in the build process!

  ### 34. One of the best CD platforms

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeroen K. | Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2020

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

The easy interface and millions of options to integrate CI/CD into your process

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

It can become quite pricy, especially with nodejs applications

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

How easy it is to deploy your application properly

  ### 35. make our developer life easier

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jose C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2020

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

very easy to setup and deploy with zero knowledge of Devops

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

For me, as a front-end developer nothing! I really think they nailed all features.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

no more weird ftp softwares, great to use with aws and other cloud services

  ### 36. Pricing is way too high

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

Very smooth & reliable pipelines. Integration with BitBucket is first class. I use this system to automatically FTP my releases to Production from SourceTree to BitBucket to Buddy to my VPS!

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

I was paying $7.99/month. I tried to add a 4th project and I was told I had reached my limit. How can this be right when the FREE account gives 5 projects. Then to my dismay I see that it costs $75/month for 20 projects.

Let’s put this into perspective. My Adobe CC All Apps subscription £30/month, NetFlix Subscription £5.99/month, DropBox subscription £9.99/month, Apple Music subscription £9.99/month. With Adobe CC, I get 20 of the most powerful software packages on the planet. The Buddy.Works starting paid plan is almost double this price. I’m sorry, this is utter madness for a freelancer on a tight budget.

Please provide a realistic plan for freelance Devs. How about 20 projects for £9.99/month. Then add an extra 80 projects to the $75/month plan.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No problems

  ### 37. Simple & intuitive, yet powerful

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin L. | Software Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

Buddy's free tier is very generous, allowing you to test out all of its features for as long as you need to without having to commit. It is incredibly simple to configure, but can do nearly everything you need it to. You can choose between an incredibly intuitive interface or use YAML to configure your pipelines. It supports integration with an incredible number of services out of the box and are very simple to set up.

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

The only downside to the free tier is that you must log in at least once every 30 days to prevent your workspace from being deleted, which is unfortunate for those who might be out for some time without access to their account. Their pipeline system is sometimes a bit too simple, as it only allows generally linear pipelines and no logical branching.

**Recommendations to others considering Buddy:**

If you're looking for an intuitive pipeline system, Buddy is the way to go. With its free tier, you can try out everything before committing to a paid plan.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finding a simple to use continuous deployment software that is this flexible is hard. While there are free services like Jenkins, which you will have to self-host, they don't offer the simplicity and intuitiveness that Buddy does.

  ### 38. Easy to Use & Intuitive UI

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rifad Ainun N. | Engineering Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2019

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

The best thing about Buddy is it's intuitive UI where you can setup deployment pipelines easily. The UI really helps when we want to introduce CI/CD culture to the whole engineering team since they can try to setup themselves using a few button clicks, rather than learning about some YAML configuration (it's still available for some advanced users though).

It also has plethora of built-in actions that connect with so many services that cover almost all of our use cases. Even if when we can't find what we need, its integration with Docker Hub is really helpful so we can setup our own custom Docker image.

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

The Action Templates feature is really under developed. I think it can really help when you have several projects that actually use similar tech stack, rather than have to clone one project's pipeline over and over again. Yes we can use Buddy YAML import/export, but if the option to manage the template is available in the UI, it will make the UI even cooler.

Its user administration is also confusing sometimes. Right now if there are new users, sometimes they can't access some old projects even if they have been added into the group that have access to that project, and have to be allowed individually.

**Recommendations to others considering Buddy:**

Give it a try, it's UI will really hook you once you setup your first pipeline

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Buddy for Continuous Deployment service to build and deploy our code from GitHub repositories to our cloud service provider like AWS & Google Cloud.

Like I said above, Buddy's UI & integrations really help us to setup the whole pipeline with few clicks.

  ### 39. Easy to Learn and Use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Iman Syahputra S. | Ninja, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2019

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

I've tried 4 CI/CD tools, and Buddy is the easiest one for me to learn. I just need 15 minutes to understand. And 2 hours to create a full CI/CD from Github to my GCP Kubernetes.

Also, it has a very cool UI, and make the engineers can learn easily. And for geek engineers, that love script, Buddy also has the features import from YAML file.

What I like so far:

- It easy to learn
- Very cool UI
- YAML Import and Export
- The dockerized pipelines. So every action on the pipeline is run on top of the docker. And because of that, it offers the flexibility to engineers, if they want to customize their CI/CD environment

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

What I want Buddy to improve:

- More cheaper :D lol. It's too expensive compared to another CI/CD. But the features are also very good. So, it's a win-win solution tho.
- More support on the Open Source world!
- Support docker-compose

**Recommendations to others considering Buddy:**

- Use it when you need to move fast, but still considering the best practice about CI/CD.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can move faster and deploy everything easily.

  ### 40. Simply the most user friendly CI/CD tool on the market

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brecht V. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2019

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

I love the user experience. Everything is so simple to understand and set up. I love using this and the learning curve is way lower then other tools.

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

Well I love it in general. But something I kind of dislike is that it's really expensive. We are on the lowest tier premium plan however I have been thinking to move to another tool that has parallel actions for half the price.

Another thing I dislike is that you can't put test pipelines on your pull requests. I would love that feature.

**Recommendations to others considering Buddy:**

Just try it! It's free to try out and you'll fall in love with how easy to use it is. Just try to set it up in buddy en then another CI/CD tool you will be convinced this is the best.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We do our builds in buddy on all our environments. It's super easy to do our flow. Build a docker image and update the pods on kubernetes. It was super easy to set up. And easy to maintain!

  ### 41. Buddy Works is Amazing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Contato M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2020

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

Buddy Works is amazing, since 2016 is my main CD/CI tool, saved my life many times, easy to configure, is flexible and have a lot of integrations that make my CD/CI setup easier and faster.

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

The only think is hard is that since i come from Brazil the price is a little bit heavy, but is worth it

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Buddy Works made easy to create my continous integration and deployments setup, easy to integrate, integrate almost with every single tool.

  ### 42. Awesome tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 06, 2020

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

The ability to configure CI/CD in an interface and not in a mess of YAML files is absolutely incredible.

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

I haven't found any real limitations yet.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Deploying our app to QA and Production right from git pushes

  ### 43. Quick and Simple

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicholas P. | Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 24, 2019

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

What I like best about Buddy is the clean simple user interface, it makes it 100x easier to put my software from merge to live. No more do I have complicated scripts floating around just for deployment. It's also extremely cost effective for what it does, compared to other offerings from their competitors.

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

It's hard to dislike buddy, I've had no fault with using it since we've started to use it.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of the main benefits of using Buddy is being able to quickly deploy my code, it's solved my primary issue of having to previously remotely SSH into our main server and git pull or the tedious process of setting up GitHub webhooks.

It also gives us the benefit of knowing when our deployments are failing by the use of their integrations we can send success / failing emails.

  ### 44. The most convenient CICD out there!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Goran T. | Chief Technology Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 09, 2020

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

Ease of configuring build/deployment steps.

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

A bit too cartoonish UI for my taste. I'd appreciate more professional design.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I tried all CICD tools out there and Buddy is so easy and intuitive that all other projects should be ashamed of themselves for making this simple process so complex.

  ### 45. I've been using Buddy since 2016 and it's a very reliable tool, no downtimes, constant improvement.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2020

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

It's a very reliable, simple interface, plenty of integrations, keeps improving constantly

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

I am very satisfied with the product in general.

**Recommendations to others considering Buddy:**

Plan ahead what your needs are and read the documentation since they have a lot of options to choose the right for your team.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Deployment to my varios servers/environments in several providers.
Automation of tasks.

  ### 46. Powerfully simple CI/CD system

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dave N. | Cloud Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2019

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

As someone who has used Jenkins for many years, Buddy.works is a breath of fresh air. It's incredibly simple to get started with and have a full CI/CD pipeline running in literally minutes. Yet at the same time, it's powerful enough to be fully customizable for custom pipeline actions. We run many pipelines for many services using Buddy which range from simple "deploy to this AWS environment" to complex 20 step workflows involving other external platforms like Shopify.

I can't talk about the full Buddy.works experience without mentioning support though. While it's a bit of a pain with timezones, the Buddy support and and developer people are among some of the best I've worked with. Super responsive, really care about making the customer successful and often finding innovative solutions. 11/10 for support.

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

The way credentials are stored is per user rather than per project/workspace. This model is very weird and causes a lot of pain if a user leaves the workspace.

**Recommendations to others considering Buddy:**

Get started using the UI and then convert to using YAML based pipelines

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CI/CD using trunk based development is our primary case for several services related to our SAAS business hosted on AWS. We use Buddy.works to test and deploy our software before deploying it to our AWS infrastructure.

  ### 47. Astonishing ease of use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicolai W. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2020

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

With Buddy, I barely have to deal with containers or configuration files. It's all done in the intuitive UI. And it's free.

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

I haven't used Buddy that long, but honestly can't think of anything I dislike.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am a hobbyist programmer, and Buddy is basically the substitute of what Heroku does with Buildpacks – hassle-free building and deployment of my applications.

  ### 48. Just the absolute best Repo + CI/CD tool there is

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2019

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

I love working in my terminal, but when the UX/UI of a product is as good as this, I love working in a GUI too. The UI is completely intuitive and very fun to use.

From a functionality point of view, the system is incredible. Being able to quickly spin up very complex builds & deployments, and then tie in all sorts of notifications is a dream come true. YML is fine, but being able to tie in all these steps with a visual pipeline editor/builder, is a treat and I thoroughly enjoy using it.

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

It's a little pricey, but still worth every penny.

**Recommendations to others considering Buddy:**

Try the demo. You won't be disappointed.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I love that I never have to worry about FTP'ing files all over the show. Just push into a repo, and have the rule system determine if/when to run a deployment

  ### 49. Buddy makes deployment a breeze!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Leszek K. | Front-end Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 09, 2020

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

Buddy is not only the easiest way to track your deploys, it also helps troubleshoot and debug any CI/CD problems you may have. It even lets you set up CRON events for all those pesky scripts that need to be run every 5 minutes. Greatly recommended, especially for larger projects. It's simple to integrate into an existing project, and easy to use even for beginners.

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

The price may deter people from using it on small projects. There is a free option, but it's rather limited, and with a 120/month execution limit.

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Buddy for integration and deployment of three separate projects that I work on. It's simple to use, even for someone who doesn't have any experience in devops at all!

  ### 50. Buddy has made decreased the time it takes for our builds to complete!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 08, 2020

**What do you like best about Buddy?**

Buddy allows the team to select branches from a dropdown to deploy, very quickly... and even allows us to deploy from tags using certain rules

**What do you dislike about Buddy?**

Buddy really filled in a lot of holes that we required as a team. I can't really think of anything that I dislike about it!

**What problems is Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Allows building of particular tags with a pattern
- Allows us to test work quickly on environments by allowing certain users to deploy any from any branch
- Massive speed improvements of build time
