  ### 15. Solid Edge is Great, Highly Recommend

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Designcenter Solid Edge?**

Love the drafting features in solid edge and the amount of customization to the UI is great. Being able to set up part families for commonly used parts/variants is very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Designcenter Solid Edge?**

Sometimes the software gets slow when dealing with splines or complex parts (like with gears or splined shafts). Synchronous mode is also very finicky, if you're not careful you can do some damage to your model and be unable to get it back to a state that was clean

**What problems is Designcenter Solid Edge solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solid edge works great on simplified models which is helpful in getting less complex models made quickly. Its drafting features also help getting drawings made in a timely fashion.

  ### 16. It is decent

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2025

**What do you like best about Designcenter Solid Edge?**

It combines the best of parametric and direct modeling. You can quickly push/pull geometry without worrying about history-tree order, but still apply constraints and dimensions when needed. It makes design changes much faster and more flexible than in purely history-based CAD.

**What do you dislike about Designcenter Solid Edge?**

it takes time to unlearn the “strict history tree” mindset if you’re coming from SolidWorks. Sometimes I end up mixing sync + ordered features, which can feel confusing at first.

**What problems is Designcenter Solid Edge solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problems of rigid design workflows, disconnected tools, and poor handling of change. The big benefit is speed and flexibility in product development, especially when requirements evolve.

  ### 17. Solid Edge Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Designcenter Solid Edge?**

Solid Edge supports a wide variety of CAD formats and is good at importing and editing files from other platforms like SolidWorks, Inventor, and Creo. It offers built-in finite element analysis (FEA), which is especially useful for smaller teams or individual designers who want to validate designs early without exporting to another tool.

**What do you dislike about Designcenter Solid Edge?**

**Reviewed Date:** October 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Designcenter Solid Edge?**

Good interface, I like that it has synchronous modelling.
Like the UI and fewer tabs, it makes it easier and faster to use the SE. Once you've gotten the hang of this software, all other software features are meh.

**What do you dislike about Designcenter Solid Edge?**

The fact that it stops at least once a day is really stressful, it feels like it gives me a heart attack every time. Learning SE takes a lot more time compared to other options, and some of the commands are confusing. Sometimes, it feels like I'm sent right back to the beginning.
