"Autonomous Messaging and AI Automation, After a Lengthy Setup"
5/5
What do you like best about Customer.io?

I like Customer.io’s Model Context Protocol (MCP) server integration. It lets me build, manage, and report on automated workflows in an agentic workspace. I can query audience data, inspect campaign performance, and generate automation structures using natural language prompts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Customer.io?

I needed about 2 to 3 weeks for the initial technical setup, including the in-app messaging SDKs, domain authentication, and user identity schemes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible Automations, Responsive Support, But Prone to Mistakes"
4/5
What do you like best about Customer.io?

I love working with the Customer.io team because they're responsive to feedback, knowledgeable, and work quickly. I find the automations and workflows can be configured in a wide variety of ways, making them easy for us to use. Plus, they consistently add new functionality through new releases, which is really helpful. I also really appreciate the core automations, broadcast functionality, and in-app notifications. The initial setup was very easy to get up and running. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Customer.io?

Setting up automations can be complex, and it's not always clear what the behavior will be. We've run into issues where we send to the wrong population because of a misconfiguration, but it feels like Customer.io makes it too easy to make mistakes sometimes. "A clear and easy-to-use tool, with a truly helpful AI agent"
4/5
What do you like best about Customer.io?

I appreciate the ease of use and clarity of the tool: everything is simple to understand. The AI agent is also a real plus, as it helps us daily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Customer.io?

The length of automations makes things unnecessarily complicated, even for adding a simple 'If' node. I also regret the inability to create test samples from already received data. Finally, some integrations are still missing (Stripe, WhatsApp...). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Customer.io: Powerful, User-Friendly Workflows with Seamless Integrations"
5/5
What do you like best about Customer.io?

I've been absolutely blown away by the capabilities of Customer.io - the way that it integrates with our other systems, the range of communication methods and the degree to which they can be tweaked, customised and optimised is incredible. Performance has been great - I've encountered literally 0 bugs or unexpected behaviours so far.

The truly impressive part to the whole thing is how user friendly the system is - managing complex workflows is a breeze, even for the less technical amongst our team.

The platform's pricing structure is fair and justified given how powerful it is and how enormous the potential to generate ROI from it is.

I dealt with their customer service team during our onboarding process and they handled my enquiries promptly and effectively. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Customer.io?

I haven't really encountered anything I would say that I really "dislike" about Customer.io - of course there are challenges around understanding its range of capabilities, navigating the set up and running of campaigns etc, but that's quite understandable.

I will never go back to traditional platforms that only broadcast to subscriber lists ever again. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Revolutionized Our Marketing Automation Efforts"
5/5
What do you like best about Customer.io?

I really like how Customer.io's event payload setup directly exposes every incoming attribute to liquid syntax. This makes building complex branching journeys and creating personalized email copy predictable and fast without needing back end data transformations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Customer.io?

There are three specific architectural challenges you need to plan for upfront. First, syncing two-way data with a warehouse like Snowflake costs significantly more compute than expected. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Smart, Fast Automation Flows with a Standout AI Agent Feature"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Customer.io?

Customer.io is a smart, fast tool for creating automation flows, and I really love the AI agent function. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Customer.io?

The memory of the AI agents seems to have a limit, and sometimes that isn’t very useful—for example, after you’ve created a dashboard and want to update the numbers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Eases Customer Engagement with Flow Simplicity"
4/5
What do you like best about Customer.io?

I really love how easy it is to build flows with Customer.io. It's probably my favorite feature. I also enjoy being able to set specific conversion metrics for each flow, which makes it really easy to track the success of my work. Additionally, the initial setup of Customer.io was super easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Customer.io?

Understanding the data and creating easily trackable dashboards is hard, so I find that reporting on certain flows and the metrics is a little bit tricky, and I end up relying more on Amplitude for that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible Journey Builder for Personalized, Automated Lifecycle Marketing"
4/5
What do you like best about Customer.io?

The best thing about this Customer.io platform is I like how it is flexible for building personalized customer journey based on our business specific real user behaviour rather than sending the same campaign to every sort of target audience this platform helps us to segment users and trigger messages based on specific actions and also it helped us to create more relevant communication channel across email SMS and in app channels this platforms workflow builder behavioral triggers and audience segmentation are very helpful for life cycle marketing it also helps us by reducing dependency on manual follow up because many customer communication flows can be automated once we have the data and journey setup done this platform also helps us with a strong product led businesses that needs to engage user based on the sign up and usage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Customer.io?

Their main drawback is that it can take some time to learn this platform properly, so it has a complex learning curve, especially when creating advanced workflow using or even data for event setting up more complex customer journeys for basic campaigns. This platform is manageable to get the full value of its capabilities, but for a complex campaign, understanding the segmentation, triggering and data structure are bit complex. Their pricing is also a bit on a larger scale when lead base increases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Unlimited Event Tracking, Unified Messaging—with Segmentation Gaps"
5/5
What do you like best about Customer.io?

I rely on Customer.io to bring customer messaging together and give us a unified view of user activity. I like that it supports an unlimited volume of incoming events without restrictive tiered caps or throttling penalties. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Customer.io?

My main frustration is the targeting and segmentation limitations, especially when filtering against complex event histories and message engagement interactions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Straightforward, Intuitive UI with Smooth Software Stack Connections"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Customer.io?

The user interface is impressively straightforward, and the controls feel intuitive, giving a clear overview of the essential tools. I also found that setting up connections with our existing software stack worked smoothly and without much hassle. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Customer.io?

We ran into an unexpected hurdle with per-minute email limits, which disrupted our voucher code campaign. I also find it frustrating that we can’t manage WhatsApp messages natively; having to rely on a third-party bridge like Twilio is time-consuming and adds extra steps to the process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
