"Unreliable and full of excuses"

What do you like best?

Cloud based .

What do you dislike?

Year and year Curve is incapable of having the fee guides loaded to Curve on time. It is 3rd Feb with fee guides effective 1 Feb...and still not uploaded. Same thing since 2015 - And they don't bother trying to meet the deadline either or doing something about it when the deadline has passed. It sits in an open ticket...ho hum...or better yet because a ticket has been read apparently it is "closed and resolved"...but still, no fee guide loaded. Despite contacting them multiple times and well in advance, they just don't care to load the fee guides. Customer service lies and placates... They're message when you call for customer support says "keep it clean people" - hard to do when you meet the "I don't care you're bothering me" attitude that answers the phone. Curve believes it perfectly alright to be paid $$$ so we can manually input our fees.

Charting - pretty and woefully lacking in functionality - elementary at best - sure you can chart an extraction or missing tooth or resto surfaces but nothing else - clinical findings need to be drawn on and tagged - time consuming - inefficient and messy - but when you erase it, it erases all of the history as well - so try keeping track of that. Charting history - cannot go tooth by tooth unless you have all the time in the world - you need to chart all of your amalgams, all of you resins; all of your crowns -by type - so round and round the mouth you go - time consuming.

Medical history is the same thing - there is no log - you click on a medical condition - and then click it away when it is no longer relevant...there is no "history" - unless you keep an open note that you update or feel free to click through every chart note to follow it.

Perio Charting - cumbersome at best; unable to compare exams without clicking back and forth; a 5mm pocket is at the apex of a root; gingival margin is the same; the colours are incorrect for Probing Depths - all orange rather than following standards - blue 0-3 red 4+mm so difficult to read properly. Overall a mess. Difficult to load because of flash.

EOBs - does not calculate total of your fee guide only the fee that the insurance will pay - the EOB does not populate billing automatically - needs to be done manually line by line - confusing for patients because they see that their insurance is covering 100% - to an untrained staff's eye...it also looks like they're insurance is covering 100% - results in too many errors and unneccessary explanations to patients. How hard is it to have totals at the bottom of each of the columns? We've asked since 2015 and Curve has done nothing about it.

Billing - add your Logo - doesn't fit on invoices; Logo appears at bottom of statement with Company name printed at top and then at bottom beside the logo again - poorly aligned; looks a mess.

Account credits - cannot be properly allocated between patient and insurance. so keep your pop-up notes so no one accidentally settles an account with insurance funds while you're trying to sort things out with the insurance company.

Co-ordination of benefits - not a priority for Curve for us Canadians. They'll put it on their list.

Transfer of records - messy - cannot properly print odontogram with treatment completed below it - you have to use snipit or take a screen shot - cumbersome and unprofessional.

Lacking in any forms - Curve doesn't provide much to help you with your forms. What they have now is better, but information is not all collected in Curve and populated to areas where you would like to see it.

you cannot work from Curve - i.e. email patients within Curve to send them anything; same with referrals; you cannot communicate with colleagues from the Curve site - ie. running late; seat patient I'll start LA; etc. But if it is available it will cost you$$$.

Electronic forms can be "completed" and submitted by patients without the patient signing the form. Too much back and forth - a form that requires a patient signature should not be allowed to be submitted without their signature.

Production numbers - accessible and visible to all your staff on the scheduler that if not clicked off is also visible to all of your patients.

User management - security is poor - if you need someone to check your patients out they need access to billing; but given access to billing also gives them access to ALL of your reports whether or not you want them to have access. Same within reports - everyone that needs to access a recare report does not need access to financial reports - Curve is not able to do this. The same is true of Administration rights - you have access to everything.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Expensive for lack of functionality; everything is an add-on; considering the practice/clinical management is lacking as is their customer service and what they deem as priorities when it comes to improving features, I'm not willing to give the other functions a try at that cost. I'm starting the process to find another provider and I am concerned because Curve is lacking in many features that a transfer of the information to another provider is going to be a nightmare.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

One servers for our xrays; Curve charges $$$ to allow xrays to be captured in Curve; no back ups.

"my thoughts about Curve"

What do you like best?

Curve supplies excellent training before You start to use the software. Very thorough.

This software has everything that you need to go paperless in your practice.

I find it very easy to get around in Curve as it is intuitive.

What do you dislike?

My # 1 dislike is that the software does not have a Dental Hygienist Insurance form uploaded that would make life much easier for me as a dental hygienist as not all insurance companies have electronic billing to offer. So I have to manually write out the form and mail it in.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Curve Support is #1 for customer service!!!!!

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I haven't had any business problems.

What Dental solution do you use?

Thanks for letting us know!

"Very satisfied with Curve Hero"

What do you like best?

We were early adopters of Curve Hero and have always liked the cloud based system. The overall interface is very user friendly. If you are comfortable with technology, it's pretty easy to learn and navigate the system. It has been easy to integrate a couple 3rd party vendors with link with our patient base (Lighthouse, Birdeye, etc.) If we ever have a question, it's very easy to submit a question and the support always responds very quickly.

What do you dislike?

The reporting features need a lot of work. Some of the reports are unclear and there are also reports that don't exist and cannot be created. There has definitely been improvement over the years, but still have lot's of improving to do. Also, we live on East cost and have realized when the west coast "wakes up", the whole system slows down drastically (usually around 11am-12pm, we start to notice a difference every day. We believe this is due to all of the servers being located in California. Still manageable but can make things difficult on a busy day.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

If you're looking for a user friendly, cloud based option--this is a great product. Definitely recommend!

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We opened our new office in 2013 completely as a digital office with Curve Hero. No server issues to worry about. Central database for all patient information. Easily accessible from anywhere with internet access.

"User friendly. Easy access to patient girls at other offices. Hard to work when internet goes down."

What do you like best?

Easy to use. My office has 3 locations and you have easy access to all patients and each schedule on a daily basis.

What do you dislike?

I dislike the fact that it is internet based. When the internet/curve itselfe goes down you are pretty much stuck. Can't take xrays, can't see what treatment needs done on the patient, nothing. We've been stuck in this situation many times.

Also, we've had trouble connecting xrays sensors to curve. Or all of the sudden an xray sensor isn't recognized and it's not understood why.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We utilize the file option in the patient chart. So we are able to quickly scan in any documents. We are a paperless office so it's easy and convienent to enter information.

"Convenience with some quirks"

What do you like best?

I love that I am able to sign in from home to review notes, charts and images. It is generslly user friendly- most new employees are able to master it quickly.

What do you dislike?

Lack of personalization- I always chart probe depths first but the software auto sets to chart recession first. Also unable to change the flow of perio charting.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It’s one if the cheaper options.

"Usar friendly, easy to access outside the office, info stared on the Cloud so it can’t be lost. "

What do you like best?

Easy to learn software by using the Curve Community videos and tutorials.

What do you dislike?

When the internet is down computer software is too.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Upload condensed insurance information for each pt so I can discuss coverage and benefits. Perio charting is smooth. Easy to categorize treatment plans in pt chart then print out for them to see.
