The biggest benefit about that for us is that the catalog, curriculum, scheduling, and events modules all sync together, keeping data accurate and consistent no matter which module we’re working in. That level of integration has streamlined our workflows and added more transparency to our processes. Our users have also grown comfortable with the platform thanks to its easy-to-use interface, which makes onboarding new users very straightforward. **What do you dislike about Coursedog?** At times, there can be a bit too much information for newer users who are just getting started on the platform, which can feel a little overwhelming but overall it's still pretty easy to learn. **What problems is Coursedog solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our institution previously relied heavily on PDF files and manual processes, which were difficult to manage and keep track of—especially when specific workflows had to be followed. Coursedog has given us the ability to move most of that work onto its platform and allow users to track status in a far more organized and consistent way. It has also helped us put guardrails in place so the data being pushed to our SIS remains clean and accurate. ### 2. Coursedog: I'm a HUGE fan! This product is also a very light lift for our internal IT office, since Coursedog provides most of the support. On top of that, I really like the analytics features, which offer outstanding insights for leading academic operations more efficiently. The product itself is very intuitive which is a breath of fresh air. The integrations are seamless, the performance of the system is never an issue with glitches or updates, and the AI reporting feature and ROI make this product a home run. I am regularly willing to talk to college campuses about Coursedog from both the faculty and staff perspective because it has made our lives much easier. Navigating this product is easy for ALL users. **What do you dislike about Coursedog?** Honestly, my only dissatisfaction is when they mention a new release or product that’s coming out and I want to use it immediately. Sometimes development takes a little time to get it right, but I do appreciate that they share what’s already in production. Being a bit impatient isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Overall, the timing is great. I think a lot of people get excited about “what’s coming” because it’s based on our feedback, but we also want to start using those features right away. **What problems is Coursedog solving and how is that benefiting you?** Manually entering course sections into Banner is a major part of my work, and I need the ability to plan scheduling on an annual basis and across the campus with an overall strategy, rather than working in divisional silos. I also value analytics that highlight time conflicts across divisions, room utilization, and success rates related to class timing, along with support for sequencing classes. On top of that, having a user-friendly catalog and a way to track faculty load are important, and there is so much more that ties into managing scheduling effectively. ### 3. It lets us build rules, requirements, and institutional standards directly into the workflow, which improves consistency and cuts down on manual work. It's simple to update and modify content, controlling what we want users to see or not see. This helps us assist users in the best way possible. I also appreciate that Coursedog integrates with our SIS, Banner, which is nice. **What do you dislike about Coursedog?** The initial setup of Coursedog was more taxing than I anticipated because we had the day-to-day operations of each of our jobs in addition to implementing five modules at once. The scheduling feature has made a big impact as it allows our faculty to be more involved in the scheduling process and optimizes room usage. **What do you dislike about Coursedog?** I find Coursedog a bit pricey and it doesn't integrate as well with Colleague SAAS as other SIS's. The integration process was a bit tedious, but once the curriculum was set up, the other products were relatively quick. **What problems is Coursedog solving and how is that benefiting you?** I find Coursedog provides transparency across departments, aids in scheduling and curriculum accountability, and serves as a database for unorganized documents. They have retained their ability to be flexible as they have grown. Their response to feature requests is wonderful. They listen to their users - people listening to people. **What do you dislike about Coursedog?** At times Coursedog's innovative initiatives slow them down. They may fix/update/create something that accidentally interferes with an established process. They then need to go back and fix what was working before. **What problems is Coursedog solving and how is that benefiting you?** From the start, Coursedog has helped us to be more efficient. This has been especially seen through reducing or removing duplication of entry. They also allowed our events to be cloud-based. It was a key selling point for me - to have fully integrated features across different support areas. The way Catalog, Curriculum, and Sections all feed out of the same database instead of supporting multiple vendors with multiple feeds and APIs has made the transition easier. The IT integration has been incredibly smooth. Our online catalog has never looked better. I also love how they consistently take feedback and use that in continued product development and analytic support. **What do you dislike about Coursedog?** I don't have any downsides at the moment. **What problems is Coursedog solving and how is that benefiting you?** We previously had been using PDFs for curriculum management. This was clunky and changes were difficult. Using Coursedog allows us to streamline that process and then import approvals directly into our catalog and our SIS. There are far fewer manual entries needed by my team. It also is far less likely for a new approval to be overlooked in the stream of pdf approvals. ### 11. The product is very intuitive and easy to learn. It is very easy to use and even our faculty got on board and are using it. When there is a problem the customer support is very responsive. **What do you dislike about Coursedog?** It forced us to clean up our data, and who likes to do that job? The Catalog does not have a lot of bells and whistles but it is constantly improving. **What problems is Coursedog solving and how is that benefiting you?** Moved the Academic Scheduling task into the hands of those who know it best. No more spreadsheets and trying to guess what the departments are wanting to schedule. They have to have all the questions answered or they can not move on. We have saved the time of a whole employee and allowed them to be used for other things. ### 12.
