### 1. Great overall scheduling application with people and results in mind.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sabrina T. | Data Anaylst, Applications Systems Support, UAHS-Scheduling, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2025

**What do you like best about Ad Astra?**

I really value the SPACESTATION community, a gamified space where users can connect and learn. It’s a great place to share ideas, pick up tips from other schools, and see how different institutions approach scheduling. It also provides direct connections and customer support with the Ad Astra team, making the experience feel collaborative and personal.

On the system side, the interface is straightforward, and the filtering tools make it easy to quickly find what I need without sorting through excessive data. Real-time updates have made scheduling far more organized and efficient.

**What do you dislike about Ad Astra?**

Some features in the current version require workarounds, but we’re optimistic about the improvements coming in the new product release. Easier event reporting and more flexible dashboards would make insights faster and more actionable.

**What problems is Ad Astra solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ad Astra gives our campus one central view of all room use and scheduling activity. This transparency makes it easier for departments to plan, avoid conflicts, and coordinate events.

 ### 2. Unsurpassed Customer Service and Features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christina S. | Director of Strategic Enrollment Management, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Ad Astra?**

Ad Astra equips my instructional team with timely insights and efficient schedule monitoring leading to true, data-driven decisions. When paired with the intuitive visuals, the challenging faculty conversations become much easier. Its user-friendly interface and smart-filtering options make accessing the overwhelming amount of data easy: complexity to clarity at your fingertips! And above all, Ad Astra's customer service is unsurpassed! Every question and issue is immediately addressed by the support team with a smile, and customer needs are actually considered and added to future updates so you feel heard and get what you need. You're not just a client, you're part of a supportive community.

**What do you dislike about Ad Astra?**

There are so many available reports that it can be overwhelming. My Ad Astra Client Success Lead, the Knowledge Base and the Space Station have been invaluable in guiding me to applicable reports and clarifying report options. This has helped build confidence in the reports and navigating the data.

**What problems is Ad Astra solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ad Astra is helping us align our course offerings with our degree pathways. Doing this has removed some of the student blocks and bottlenecks, and decreased the time to completion. The added benefits are increased room efficiency and decreased faculty overhead. It's a win-win for all involved!

 ### 3. Maximizing Access and Efficiency with Ad Astra

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris P. | Executive Director: Academic Operations, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Ad Astra?**

What I appreciate most about Ad Astra's products is how they support data-informed decision making while keeping student access and success at the forefront. Tools like Monitor and Align make it easier to identify where we have high demand classes, potential scheduling conflicts and track underutilized space so we can act quickly and strategically. The platform also promotes collaboration between academic and operations teams, which helps us align our schedule with student needs and institutional goals. Ultimately, Ad Astra helps us remain data informed to be sure we offer the right classes when students need them - so that more students can succeed.

**What do you dislike about Ad Astra?**

While Ad Astra offers strong tools for strategic scheduling, some aspects of the platform an feel complex or not intuitive - especially for new users. The learning curve can slow down adoption across teams that don't use it daily. Additionally certain features or reports may require multiple steps of workarounds to get to specific insights we need, which can limit agility during peak scheduling periods. As we continue to expand our use of the platform, we'd love to see more customizable dashboards and streamlined workflows that make it easier to act on data quickly.

**What problems is Ad Astra solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ad Astra is helping us solve several key challenges in academic scheduling and resource optimization. Most notably, it's improving our ability to Align course offerings with student demand. Tools like Monitor high-enrollment and wait listed courses allowing us to respond quickly by adding sections where needed. Ad Astra has also helped us improve space utilization and make smarter use of classrooms and facilities, reducing conflicts and ensuring we're using our spaces efficiently and they also support multi-term planning! Overall, Ad Astra is helping us make data informed decisions that increase student access, reduce bottlenecks, and support institutional goals.

**Reviewed by:** tabitha b. | Coordinator: Curriculum and Academic Support, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2024

**What do you like best about Ad Astra?**

The SPACESTATION, The scheduler part for reservations with the ability to upload pictures and resources for the employees. The team took care of the implementation after receiving the information to import from Banner and our old system. The system is really easy to use.
I recently started using a scheduling platform, and I couldn't be more impressed with how user-friendly it is. From the moment I logged in, the clean interface made navigation a breeze. The layout is intuitive, so I quickly found all the features I needed without any confusion.

Scheduling reservation requests and managing the scheduling grid calendar has never been easier. The visual design is clear, with color-coded options that make it simple to differentiate between various events. Plus, the drag-and-drop functionality is a game changer!

Overall, this platform has streamlined my scheduling process significantly. If you're looking for an easy-to-use tool that enhances productivity without the hassle, I highly recommend giving it a try!

A few minor glitches but nothing a ticket can't resolve. When a person has multiple accounts due to depatment move I wish the system would merge the person together.

**What problems is Ad Astra solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This system allows everyone across the campus who has access to view what is happening. I like the fact that you can click on it and see daily the classes that are scheduled and who's teaching the amount of students that are in the class. This system has some great visuals. I was able to color code the reservations by groups, etc...

I appreciate that all room information is located in one easy-to-navigate location. ### 9. Navigating the path

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Ad Astra?**

Ad Astra's predictive analytics help us ensure that classes are scheduled when students need them (both according to their degree pathways and course maps and at the times of day and modality that students are looking for). The reporting is also helpful in building and monitoring those pathways.

**What do you dislike about Ad Astra?**

Some of the analytics take a bit of tweaking to get right and the toxic course pairings require quite a bit of human analytics to decipher the correlations from the causation.

**What problems is Ad Astra solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are better able to schedule the correct number of sections at the times/days/modalities that students need.

 ### 10. Ad Astra has been a huge part of our team's experience in the Office of Events.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aubrey C. | Assistant Director of University Events & Conferences, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Ad Astra?**

The integration of equipment, spaces, reservations, meetings with different classification factors, timelines, setup and teardown windows, etc. is by FAR our favorite thing. We have really tried to centralize things, and Ad Astra has allowed us to do so in a seamless way.

**What do you dislike about Ad Astra?**

There are a lot of features in Ad Astra that are helpful. However, sometimes, there's so much going on that I really wish I could speak with a representative about specifics. They do have a chat feature, which they do respond to, but sometimes I would like to be able to pick up the phone to communicate, as we do with some of our other software. However, All-in-all, Ad Astra is a wonderful product that I do recommend!

**What problems is Ad Astra solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The siloed, paper, an archaic scheduling across campus--by allowing us a platform to integrate all departments, etc. into one location.

**What do you dislike about Ad Astra?**

When doing a search in the scheduling grid, it does not maintain the selected features, i.e., displaying by week, day, or month. In addition, printing the scheduling grid it does not print properly. The margins are off so the days of the week do not display over the correct column.

 ### 31. Reach for the stars with Ad Astra!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher G. | Associate Registrar, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 04, 2023

**What do you like best about Ad Astra?**

Astra Schedule is a good classroom scheduling tool. We've enjoyed the integration and live syncing of the data, which has been very helpful. Controlling security by the user and by the location provides a lot of options.

**What do you dislike about Ad Astra?**

Overall, Ad Astra software, as well as their support is very good. The focus is on academic scheduling, so some of the even features are not as developed, but that is not the focus. My main wish was that the data was easier to get to. Crystal reports needs to be used, which I would love if I could access it directly through SQL Developer or similar software.

**What problems is Ad Astra solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Astra Schedule allows us to manage classroom scheduling with integration to our SIS (Banner). Security can be controlled by user and location, which provides a lot of options for both viewing or scheduling rights.

 ### 32. Awesome Product, Superior Customer Service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sam H. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Ad Astra?**

Astra Schedule is a dream come true for those who have to schedule academic classes. It truly shreded *days* of work hand placing sections. Its Events part is flexible and capable, surpassing our SIS' ability to deal with extracurricular activities.

**What do you dislike about Ad Astra?**

Sadly, inconsistencies between sections of the application exist. Popping open list items in new tabs may, or may not, be supported. I realize that the foregoing is a systems resources issue, but it's a step back from the standalone version, IMO.

**What problems is Ad Astra solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing section scheduling for over 40000 students across five physical campuses while juggling a host of community, academic and industry led events.

 ### 33. Good

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul H. | Assistant Director, Office of Institutional Effectiveness, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 06, 2023

**What do you like best about Ad Astra?**

When you get a person in a conversation, you usually get insights that you would have missed, otherwise. The products (including the algorithms) are very useful and unique.

**What do you dislike about Ad Astra?**

Perhaps the chat bot becomes more useful with ChatGPT4's arrival. Sometimes, it can be difficult to find a human in the middle of the day. This doesn't strike me as a unique issue, FWIW.

**What problems is Ad Astra solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our state requires that our classrooms are in use. We have to monitor our room usage, and part of our state funding depends on a good score. Ad Astra helps us get that funding.

 ### 34. Ad Astra

**What problems is Ad Astra solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have had the good fortune of working with Ad Astra in various ways. With the number of jobs institutions are being asked to do with little to no additional resources, it is imperative to capitalize on using the right tools, and Ad Astra is just that tool. Texas Public Institutions are given a Space Usage Efficiency (SUE) score to ensure appropriate classroom and class laboratory utilization. In 2012, our office began fully utilizing Ad Astra’s optimizer and saw an increase of 77% in our SUE score. We continue to use it 10 years later every scheduling term, allowing us to schedule courses efficiently, effectively, and quickly into classroom and class labs. We can schedule over 3,000 courses into rooms within a couple of hours, and departments are happy with the room assignments! With the help of Ad Astra, we created a Strategic Scheduling Team that meets once a month to review course data with Align with Predict. They take us on a deep dive and help departments understand what is needed for students to have a clear path toward success (and a degree!)

 ### 35. We love Ad Astra!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aubrey C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Ad Astra?**

Ad Astra is incredibly helpful in the way that it helps you not only streamline your scheduling processes but also keep all of the different entities and departments, in our case, connected through notifications, requests, and communication. We love Ad Astra for many reasons, but this is the reason that always stands out to me.

**What do you dislike about Ad Astra?**

I think that the way that Ad Astra sometimes has "outages," for lack of a better word, where certain individuals are locked out for a brief period of time, is probably the thing that we dislike the most at our institution.

**What problems is Ad Astra solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ad Astra is allowing our institution to streamline our processes and work to be consistent and transparent in what we have going on around campus and how we can best serve our students and faculty through events, classes, and scheduling.

 ### 36. Astra Schedule

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashley V. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2023

**What do you like best about Ad Astra?**

I'm not a primary user of Astra Schedule. I'm application support but I can say that it's extremely user-friendly and the support that we've received from their help team has been great!

**What do you dislike about Ad Astra?**

I think our implementation could have gone a little smoother, which caused us to not be successful in the first 6-7 months of using the scheduler. We've had some trials and errors that we needed to work through but I think we've mostly worked through that and are successfully using this tool in a way that works best for us.

**What problems is Ad Astra solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Astra is getting our space scheduling in one spot instead of many different tools. It's also removed the need to create crazy schedules in excel.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hannah S. | Collegiate Division Coordinator, Higher Education, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2018

**What do you like best about Ad Astra?**

Currently, we use this system for our campus classroom management. I think it's underutilized in many aspects but some nice features are: detailed information about classroom spaces (including pictures, classroom features), actual scheduling details for the rooms, a space to see which rooms are available within certain parameters, a form to submit a room reservation request.

**What do you dislike about Ad Astra?**

It's hard to say because I'm not sure the breadth of what the product can do. I do believe we're underutilizing the features available to us (there's an option to pull up data about room use and historical reservations that could be really interesting).

**What problems is Ad Astra solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This has helped the Registrar's Office manage campus classrooms and meeting spaces. It allows us to better utilize the spaces available.
