
Rio was introduced as part of a strategic transition programme during the divestment of two mining assets from a global mining company. The transition period was highly demanding, and the newly formed organisation sought to automate processes and maintain a lean workforce. Rio was selected to manage automated invoice processing for more than 40,000 invoices, eliminating the need for extensive manual handling.
For large-scale transition projects with compressed timelines, integration often poses significant risk. Thanks to Rio’s out-of-the-box integration capability with SAP, this risk was effectively mitigated, ensuring a smooth and rapid deployment.
The implementation was exceptionally successful, with only a handful of minor enhancements and initial adjustments required. These were addressed promptly and professionally by Rio’s highly capable team, demonstrating strong expertise and commitment.
Within just six weeks, the solution was fully operational. The first 200+ invoices were processed with minimal issues, achieving a success rate close to 100%. As a direct result, the business reduced procurement staffing requirements from six employees in the previous organisation to just two, delivering significant efficiency gains.
