A few things in Constant Contact Advanced Automation could definitely be improved to make it smoother and more competitive with other automation platforms: Limited branching logic. The workflows are visual, but the conditional logic can feel basic. Sometimes I want deeper 'if/then' paths (like stacking multiple conditions or combining behavioral and demographic filters), and the system doesn’t allow that level of complexity yet. Reporting isn’t granular enough. The analytics dashboard gives high-level stats, but it would be more useful to have detailed performance metrics inside each step of an automation sequence — for example, seeing drop-off rates by email, trigger performance, and A/B split data in one view. A/B testing could be much stronger. You can test subject lines and variations, but true multi-step A/B testing for entire workflows isn’t really supported. It's a missed opportunity for optimizing long sequences. Setup can feel rigid. Once a sequence is live, editing it is sometimes clunky. Making changes mid-flow is limited, and any major adjustment might require duplicating or rebuilding parts of the automation. Integrations are good but not deep.
