What do you like best about Comp AI?

what i like best is that comp ai got us through soc 2 type 2 with zero exceptions, and the timeline was tight. we kicked off in late december and had a signed final report in a few months, which for a small team building a research lab matters a lot.

the slack-native workflow is the real unlock. dustin from their cx team ran our onboarding directly in the channel, mark handled the auditor coordination, and the unthread bot covered off-hours questions. we never lost a day waiting on email threads, which is usually where compliance projects die.

the google workspace integration was the other thing that punched above its weight. once we connected it, employee sync, 2fa evidence, and access review data all got pulled automatically. evidence collection became hours of work instead of weeks.

the trust center is also useful on the sales side, since we can host the final report behind nda for enterprise prospects without sending pdfs around. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Comp AI?

What do you dislike about Comp AI?

Support is only in blocks of 15 minutes when you really need at least an hour at a time. The product is super buggy and non-intuitive to work in, nothing works in the Evidence Collection area, seems like it should be called Rugs-R-Us. It's just NOT ready for prime-time. I was told this would only take about 6 hours time to get certified, and it took me at least 20 hours to get my policies reviewed and approved in their tool. That part of the tool is actually not using AI to review my policies against their AI generated slop, a person is doing that on the backend like a monkey! Almost none of the connectors work either, so much bad false advertising here. Nothing is intuitive, and I'm spending a ton of time as CEO/CIO working with their tool just to get evidence collection automated. I think they might be good for a 1-10 person start-up that can't afford to spend for Vanta and others more established, but nobody bigger than that should waste any time or money on this AI slop. It's a glorified ChatGPT wrapper with no real intuitive connectors and workflows builders. You would think they would have better self-help with AI and all, but it's actually pretty brutal how much you have to go to Support with all your bugs. I tried to get evidence collected today and created 6 issues! I bought this junk on January 1st and it's April 23rd and I'm still on Evidence Gathering Week 1 essentially. What do you like best about Comp AI?

I like Comp AI because of the great team and how easy it is to reach out to them. They provide a dedicated joint Slack channel, which makes communication smooth, and their AI bot on Slack simplifies opening support tickets. I also appreciate how Comp AI helped us gain trust in the industry and start opening up more conversations with our enterprise-level clients. It's really useful that Comp AI provides integrations with GitHub and Vercel, which we found helpful for our setup. The initial setup was very easy, and they have a strong onboarding process. What do you like best about Comp AI?

CompAI sped up and simplified the compliance that our company has been trying to achieve over several years now. We spent a lot of time with several vendors before and those always felt like more work and no help during the process. With CompAI, we were able to streamline the policies and compliance we already had in place without having to deal or waste time on unnecessary fluff that previous vendors would do to continue to stretch our bills every month.

We were able to attain and certify as SOC2 Type II in less then 5 months with CompAI which is an amazing feat in itself. Pricing was extremely reasonable as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Comp AI?

One of the main pitches we were sold on was that a lot of the evidence could be auto gathered with the integrations to systems like AWS and Github. This turned out to be false and we ended up having to still manually collect or compile evidence during the process which negated the point of these integrations. They might resolve this at a future point but as of this time the integrations for auto-gathering evidence for your system are pointless.

With that said, the CompAI team really made a point to feel part and truly act as a compliance partner, they would help us with gathering evidence or formatting/fixing submissions during review process which sped up the part and at the end of the process they truly feel like a compliance partner helping your organization. They managed the entire auditor relationship for us, so we didn't have to worry about finding or coordinating with an audit firm separately. The only downside came right at the very end of the process. Although the audit was completed and we received the positive news about the final report in mid-January, the final report itself wasn’t shared with us until the first week of February, which took longer than expected. There was some back and forth during that period, but that seemed to be more on the auditor side than CompAI team. This wasn’t a major issue and didn’t significantly impact us, but it was the only part of the experience that felt slower compared with an otherwise very smooth, well-managed process. What do you like best about Comp AI?

I use Comp AI to automate our SOC 2 and ISO 27001 compliance, and it really helps manage evidence collection without the manual headache of spreadsheets. I like how it eliminates the manual work of compliance by automating evidence collection, saving so much time in SOC 2 preparation. The 1 on 1 Slack support makes the whole process feel seamless. The real-time compliance tracking dashboard is great for seeing exactly where we stand with SOC 2 or ISO 27001 at any moment without having to wait for an auditor's report. Also, it connects to our entire tech stack and integrates with AWS for infrastructure scanning, GitHub for code controls, and Okta for identity management, which makes collecting evidence for SOC 2 almost entirely automated. The initial setup was very fast, taking only a few minutes, thanks to the white glove team who configured our integrations and customized our policies for us, making us audit-ready for SOC 2 much sooner than we expected.
