Comp AI Made SOC 2 Type 2 Fast and Effortless with Slack and Google Workspace **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026 **What do you like best about Comp AI?** what i like best is that comp ai got us through soc 2 type 2 with zero exceptions, and the timeline was tight. we kicked off in late december and had a signed final report in a few months, which for a small team building a research lab matters a lot. the slack-native workflow is the real unlock. dustin from their cx team ran our onboarding directly in the channel, mark handled the auditor coordination, and the unthread bot covered off-hours questions. we never lost a day waiting on email threads, which is usually where compliance projects die. the google workspace integration was the other thing that punched above its weight. once we connected it, employee sync, 2fa evidence, and access review data all got pulled automatically. evidence collection became hours of work instead of weeks. the trust center is also useful on the sales side, since we can host the final report behind nda for enterprise prospects without sending pdfs around. **What do you dislike about Comp AI?** honestly hard to come up with much, the process was smooth **What problems is Comp AI solving and how is that benefiting you?** comp ai is solving the "we need soc 2 but we're a small team building product" problem. as a research lab with enterprise prospects asking for compliance attestation, we couldn't afford to dedicate an engineer for months to evidence collection, policy writing, and auditor coordination. ### 7. They have a great good self-help starting guide and connect you in Slack with your support team. **What do you dislike about Comp AI?** Support is only in blocks of 15 minutes when you really need at least an hour at a time. The product is super buggy and non-intuitive to work in, nothing works in the Evidence Collection area, seems like it should be called Rugs-R-Us. It's just NOT ready for prime-time. I was told this would only take about 6 hours time to get certified, and it took me at least 20 hours to get my policies reviewed and approved in their tool. That part of the tool is actually not using AI to review my policies against their AI generated slop, a person is doing that on the backend like a monkey! Almost none of the connectors work either, so much bad false advertising here. Nothing is intuitive, and I'm spending a ton of time as CEO/CIO working with their tool just to get evidence collection automated. I think they might be good for a 1-10 person start-up that can't afford to spend for Vanta and others more established, but nobody bigger than that should waste any time or money on this AI slop. It's a glorified ChatGPT wrapper with no real intuitive connectors and workflows builders. You would think they would have better self-help with AI and all, but it's actually pretty brutal how much you have to go to Support with all your bugs. I tried to get evidence collected today and created 6 issues! I bought this junk on January 1st and it's April 23rd and I'm still on Evidence Gathering Week 1 essentially. **What problems is Comp AI solving and how is that benefiting you?** Comp AI is supposed to help us quickly get audit-ready and compliance certified with our SOC 2 auditors. ### 8. With CompAI, we were able to streamline the policies and compliance we already had in place without having to deal or waste time on unnecessary fluff that previous vendors would do to continue to stretch our bills every month. We were able to attain and certify as SOC2 Type II in less then 5 months with CompAI which is an amazing feat in itself. Pricing was extremely reasonable as well. **What do you dislike about Comp AI?** One of the main pitches we were sold on was that a lot of the evidence could be auto gathered with the integrations to systems like AWS and Github. This turned out to be false and we ended up having to still manually collect or compile evidence during the process which negated the point of these integrations. They might resolve this at a future point but as of this time the integrations for auto-gathering evidence for your system are pointless. Their tasks made it super easy and their trust portal took less than one minute to set up. **What do you dislike about Comp AI?** Nothing. It currently hits all of our use cases. **What problems is Comp AI solving and how is that benefiting you?** GDPR normally is super expensive and difficult to comply with, especially with the lawyers that we have typically worked with. Comp AI simplified the process and made it easy for use to understand in layman terms. ### 47. Compared to the giants in the industry now (Vanta, Drata, etc) who all have become massive, bloated products, Comp AI is clean and minimal and only what you need. Gotta say love the pricing too, significantly cheaper to get up and running on Comp AI. **What do you dislike about Comp AI?** No complaints yet. We're still new to the platform but happy with our decision. **What problems is Comp AI solving and how is that benefiting you?** Anyone in the B2B space at the very least needs SOC2 compliance. This can be daunting to do by yourself, Comp AI does a great job at holding your hand through the process. ### 48. The tool demonstrated strong capabilities in identifying control gaps, automating basic compliance checks, and providing actionable insights. During the POC, it performed well for smaller-scale datasets and specific use cases. However, we identified scalability as a key limitation. The platform struggled with performance and responsiveness when applied to enterprise-scale data volumes and complex control frameworks. Additionally, integration with existing systems required more customization than anticipated, which could introduce long-term maintenance overhead. Due to these scalability concerns, we have decided not to onboard Comp AI Tool at this time. We will continue to monitor its development and may revisit its suitability in the future as it matures **What do you dislike about Comp AI?** we identified scalability as a key limitations for multi-infra structure architecture . The website is also very intuitive and easy to use. The best thing is that it is an AI-first platform. **What do you dislike about Comp AI?** Comp AI does not currently support HIPAA compliance. I believe it's coming soon. **What problems is Comp AI solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am developing a platform related to med-tech and healthcare research, where I am going to use Comp AI for the SOC and HIPPA compliance. ### 50.
