I like that I can log all my evidence, clearly understand my requirements, and see which controls I need to address when solving for and submitting evidence. I also appreciate that they manage the auditor relationship and coordinate the audit for me. Overall, the platform makes it easy to organize compliance evidence collection and submission in a straightforward way.

**What do you dislike about Comp AI?**

Some parts of the platform can be confusing, mainly because compliance is still a complex area. I’ve also noticed that their AI sometimes overstates the requirements needed to complete a task or provide evidence, so I always use my own AI to double-check against the frameworks and confirm that what it’s asking for isn’t overstated.

It provides a central platform to track, understand, and submit evidence for compliance requirements. It also allows an auditor to access that data, and includes automations and integrations that try to pull the data in automatically.

**What do you like best about Comp AI?**

I find Comp AI extremely helpful for achieving compliance with certifications like SOC 2 and ISO. The team is incredibly supportive and always there to assist, celebrating checkpoints alongside me. The platform is very cheap, fast, and easy to use. I am particularly impressed by the intelligent chatbot system that provides insightful information and resolves my issues quickly without needing to escalate to a person. Integrating Comp AI was very easy; everything was structured, and even the device checks were simple with just a software download. The process was convenient and required minimal effort on my part.

**What do you dislike about Comp AI?**

Sometimes the response times were a bit long, especially on weekends. However, I understand that and it's not a major issue for me.

They provide a compliance framework that clearly lays out what needs to happen and where the deficiencies are. This makes it much easier to understand what’s required and to implement it in a streamlined way. The automation they have in place also offers actionable guidance on what needs to be fixed, which is especially helpful for maintaining compliance as changes are made to the system.

**What do you dislike about Comp AI?**

These are minor issues overall, but some of the automations fail randomly, and I wish there were stronger support for GDPR, starting with training. Comp AI already has really great GDPR trainings; it would be helpful if there were an option in the portal to assign them to users.

It greatly streamlines the compliance process, so small companies can realistically put together the systems and processes needed to protect their business and their customers. It helps with understanding compliance requirements, building the framework to meet those requirements, and setting up automation to make compliance more efficient. **What do you like best about Comp AI?**

I really appreciate how Comp AI allowed us to get our ISO certification very quickly without having to go through all the meetings that traditional agencies require. It streamlined the process significantly and reduced the time to about six weeks. I like that we could guide ourselves on the platform without the need for external calls, and we received support when needed through Slack with great communication. The platform is quite easy to use, allowing us to keep everything within it, providing a clear understanding of what's done, pending, and tracking the overall progress. The sales process was also very smooth and streamlined, and we met our time expectations with Comp AI.

**What do you dislike about Comp AI?**

I don't know. Maybe the overall visibility of time could be better. Understanding what needs to be done week by week and how many weeks are left to complete the project could improve.

**What problems is Comp AI solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Comp AI made getting our ISO 27001 certification much faster and easier, reducing the process from months to six weeks without the need for weekly meetings. It allows us to track everything on one platform, making project management straightforward without relying on external help.

**What do you like best about Comp AI?**

I like that Comp AI makes compliance affordable and straightforward without the need to spend hours on manual tasks, thanks to its AI automation. I also appreciate having a Slack channel, where any questions I have are answered super fast and they're super helpful to me, really understanding what makes sense for my company. I really like the automation because it's super simple to connect and guide through, and it automatically resolves most of the compliance issues. If something isn't resolved after automation, it's well explained how to resolve it to become compliant. Also, the initial setup was amazing; the team helped me from beginning to end and it was incredibly fast. Being a tiny team, I value how Comp AI treats me with care and provides excellent support regardless of the company's size.

**What do you dislike about Comp AI?**

I think they just need to keep adding new integrations because the integrations are great. If it's missing, then you need to start to collect proof yourself, and it became very long. So more integration, I would say.

Three things stand out. First, the team's responsiveness — whenever we had questions during our compliance process, we received timely, substantive answers rather than being routed through generic support queues. That kind of accessibility matters when you're working against audit timelines.
Second, the platform is clearly under active development. New features are consistently being added, which tells you the team is iterating based on real customer feedback. You're not buying into something static — the product genuinely improves over time.
Third, and most importantly, the support never felt one-size-fits-all. Every interaction was tailored to our specific situation and compliance needs. That level of personalization made navigating the nuances of our program significantly easier and gave us confidence that we were being guided by people who understood our context, not just the checkbox.
For any compliance or security team evaluating platforms, that combination — responsiveness, active development, and contextual support — is hard to find and worth calling out.

**What do you dislike about Comp AI?**

As with any platform that's actively evolving, there were occasional hiccups when new features rolled out — minor bugs or rough edges that come with the territory of a product that's consistently pushing updates. That said, it's hard to hold this against them. Every issue we encountered was addressed quickly by their support team, and resolutions came without having to chase anyone down.
In many ways, it's the tradeoff you accept — and honestly prefer — when working with a vendor that's genuinely building and improving rather than standing still. The friction was minimal and short-lived, and the trajectory of the platform makes it easy to look past.

**What problems is Comp AI solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing compliance across a dual-entity organization is inherently complex — there are a lot of moving parts, evidence requirements, and control frameworks to keep organized and audit-ready. CompAI centralizes that process in a way that brings structure and visibility to what can otherwise feel like an overwhelming operational burden.
For us, the core benefit has been confidence. Knowing that our compliance posture is documented, trackable, and defensible — and that we have a responsive team behind the platform when questions arise — removes a significant amount of uncertainty from the process. That's not a small thing when you're working toward a SOC 2 Type II audit and need everything to hold up under scrutiny.
It also reduces the internal lift. Rather than cobbling together evidence and documentation across disconnected tools, CompAI gives us a single place to manage the process, which frees our team to focus on the actual work of running a secure and compliant program rather than just administering it.

What I like most about Comp AI is the team. They are incredibly supportive, professional, and exceptionally responsive whenever I need help. On top of that, seeing the pace at which they continuously improve the product—and experiencing firsthand how those improvements positively impact me as a customer—is something I haven’t encountered with many other services.

Honestly, I don’t have anything negative to say about the company.

We’re a healthcare company that needed support achieving HIPAA and SOC 2 compliance. It’s a great tool for gathering all the evidence required for a specific compliance workframe, while keeping your team, your device fleet, and everything else aligned with the requirements. The team is also very responsive and will assist you in meeting your deadline.

**What do you dislike about Comp AI?**

At the beginning, we faced a few minor bugs while finalizing the background checks for some of our team members, but the Comp AI team was very responsive and they solved the issue promptly. Other than that, there’s really nothing to complain about.

Getting audit-ready for a specific compliance framework such as SOC 2 can be a long, demanding effort. Comp AI makes the whole process easier: you connect your tools and production software, gather the necessary evidence, and monitor your progress toward compliance.

The platform is very easy to use and navigate. Signing up and setting up the account was straightforward, and it was simple to select which frameworks would be certified. The pricing is very competitive compared to the alternatives, especially considering that they set up a shared Slack channel where you can communicate with the team about any issues you run into. The compliance review combines AI with human verification, and it turned out to be both fast and accurate. I would recommend Comp AI to anyone who is trying to get GDPR, SOC 2, or any other type of compliance.

The AI is not 100% accurate (as expected, they have human verifications in place), and I assume it will improve over time.

This is an AI native GRC -- which means, everything you did in your old tool but thought to yourself "seriously, in this day and age?" is available here.  And, it's not just robots and agents, there's a top-tier support team behind it all that responds instantly.

UX is easy to use and clean (not filled with confusing jargon), Price is solid, integrations work like you'd expect.

**What do you dislike about Comp AI?**

Minimal to dislike -- sometimes their product documentation is catching up to their features, so looking something up in their docs might not be spot on -- but their Slack support is right there and speedy.

**What problems is Comp AI solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Better security and compliance posture, no doubt.  And, that comes along with being in buttoned-up shape for auditors.

The team is very responsive and helpful, and the app is straightforward to use. They really make the whole process feel smooth. We have done many certifications with them and planning to do more.

Sometimes there are small UI issues, but those are not deal breaking and team is reacting very fast to fix them.

This helped us start our compliance journey from scratch, and the level of support was very good throughout.

**What do you dislike about Comp AI?**

The product was still in an early stage when we onboarded, and some things weren’t working as expected. Along the way, some of our data was migrated to a new schema without us being informed, which left our onboarding data stale. That said, they’ve since resolved pretty much all of these issues.

**What problems is Comp AI solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CompAI solved 2 main problems for us:
1) Given us clear structure, guidance and the foundation for becoming compliant for the certificates we were seeking to attain.
2) Facilitated the monitoring and evidence collection for the pieces that are part of our compliance situation.

It's a great fit for startups, since it'll guide you through all you need to do to be fully compliant, and help you stay that way too.

**What do you like best about Comp AI?**

what i like best is that comp ai got us through soc 2 type 2 with zero exceptions, and the timeline was tight. we kicked off in late december and had a signed final report in a few months, which for a small team building a research lab matters a lot.
the slack-native workflow is the real unlock. dustin from their cx team ran our onboarding directly in the channel, mark handled the auditor coordination, and the unthread bot covered off-hours questions. we never lost a day waiting on email threads, which is usually where compliance projects die.
the google workspace integration was the other thing that punched above its weight. once we connected it, employee sync, 2fa evidence, and access review data all got pulled automatically. evidence collection became hours of work instead of weeks.
the trust center is also useful on the sales side, since we can host the final report behind nda for enterprise prospects without sending pdfs around.

honestly hard to come up with much, the process was smooth

**What problems is Comp AI solving and how is that benefiting you?**

comp ai is solving the "we need soc 2 but we're a small team building product" problem. as a research lab with enterprise prospects asking for compliance attestation, we couldn't afford to dedicate an engineer for months to evidence collection, policy writing, and auditor coordination.

**What do you like best about Comp AI?**

I value the AI Evidence Collection and the ability to upload our company policies. They have a great good self-help starting guide and connect you in Slack with your support team.

**What do you dislike about Comp AI?**

Support is only in blocks of 15 minutes when you really need at least an hour at a time. The product is super buggy and non-intuitive to work in, nothing works in the Evidence Collection area, seems like it should be called Rugs-R-Us.  It's just NOT ready for prime-time. I was told this would only take about 6 hours time to get certified, and it took me at least 20 hours to get my policies reviewed and approved in their tool.  That part of the tool is actually not using AI to review my policies against their AI generated slop, a person is doing that on the backend like a monkey!  Almost none of the connectors work either, so much bad false advertising here.  Nothing is intuitive, and I'm spending a ton of time as CEO/CIO working with their tool just to get evidence collection automated.  I think they might be good for a 1-10 person start-up that can't afford to spend for Vanta and others more established, but nobody bigger than that should waste any time or money on this AI slop.  It's a glorified ChatGPT wrapper with no real intuitive connectors and workflows builders. You would think they would have better self-help with AI and all, but it's actually pretty brutal how much you have to go to Support with all your bugs. I tried to get evidence collected today and created 6 issues!  I bought this junk on January 1st and it's April 23rd and I'm still on Evidence Gathering Week 1 essentially.

CompAI sped up and simplified the compliance that our company has been trying to achieve over several years now. We spent a lot of time with several vendors before and those always felt like more work and no help during the process. With CompAI, we were able to streamline the policies and compliance we already had in place without having to deal or waste time on unnecessary fluff that previous vendors would do to continue to stretch our bills every month.
We were able to attain and certify as SOC2 Type II in less then 5 months with CompAI which is an amazing feat in itself. Pricing was extremely reasonable as well.

**What do you dislike about Comp AI?**

One of the main pitches we were sold on was that a lot of the evidence could be auto gathered with the integrations to systems like AWS and Github. This turned out to be false and we ended up having to still manually collect or compile evidence during the process which negated the point of these integrations. They might resolve this at a future point but as of this time the integrations for auto-gathering evidence for your system are pointless. 
With that said, the CompAI team really made a point to feel part and truly act as a compliance partner, they would help us with gathering evidence or formatting/fixing submissions during review process which sped up the part and at the end of the process they truly feel like a compliance partner helping your organization.

The only downside came right at the very end of the process. Although the audit was completed and we received the positive news about the final report in mid-January, the final report itself wasn’t shared with us until the first week of February, which took longer than expected. **What do you like best about Comp AI?**

I love that Comp AI provides a very white glove experience with incredibly fast response times from their agents, which truly enhances the user support experience. The entire user experience was seamless, making the process smooth and efficient. The automated event and evidence gathering capabilities are particularly impressive, positioning Comp AI as a cutting-edge company that simplifies complex compliance tasks such as SOC 2 and HIPAA attestations. Additionally, Comp AI has greatly helped in gathering evidence, significantly reducing manual overhead, and freeing me to focus on my day-to-day operations without worrying about compliance documentation. The initial setup of Comp AI was super easy, which saved me a lot of time and effort.

I think their security review could be a bit more comprehensive for things like the pen test. There's maybe more that they could do in this area, which might be available only in a higher pay package.

**What do you like best about Comp AI?**

Comp AI has been great for us. The platform is simple to use, which takes a lot of the stress out of SOC 2. Their new AI features handle a bunch of the tedious work in the background, so the whole process feels lighter. The white glove support is a big part of why it works so well too. They helped us get our policies in place and handled communication with the auditors, which saved a lot of time. It also integrates cleanly with the tools we already use like AWS, and many other services. And the price is very reasonable, which makes getting through SOC 2 far less painful than I expected.

I really appreciate that Comp AI is easy to adjust to the way my team works. It learns our habits quickly and helps remind everyone about tasks without being intrusive. The friendly interface makes it simple for new coworkers to start using it, which saves training time.

There are moments when Comp AI offers suggestions that aren't always relevant, and cleaning up unnecessary notifications can take some effort. It also sometimes requires a refresh if updates don’t show right away. A bit more polish here would be helpful.

Comp AI has reduced the amount of time our group spends tracking progress with emails and spreadsheets. The speed and transparency are incredible. We went from months of compliance headaches to getting SOC 2 ready in just a few weeks. The platform connects directly to our existing tools like AWS and GitHub, so evidence collection happens automatically instead of us scrambling to gather screenshots and documents manually. The team provides real 1:1 Slack support which feels like having compliance experts right on our team. Plus, being open source means we can actually see what's happening under the hood, which builds trust.

Setup can be a bit technical if you're not familiar with self-hosting. While the cloud version is great, getting the self-hosted version running smoothly took some extra time and effort. The platform is still relatively new, so some features feel like they're still being polished. Also, if you need extensive hand-holding through every step, you might want more traditional consulting

comp ai made the whole compliance thing way easier than i thought. we got soc2 type 1 in like 1 day which was kinda insane. the ai just connects to stuff like github and aws and just does the heavy work for you. didn’t need to go hire some expensive consultant. also it supports other frameworks like iso and gdpr so we can reuse stuff later too. it also has lot of integrations that just worked fine out of the box.

the ui is okay but could be more clean sometimes. feels a bit startup-y still. also few times it took longer than expected to pull data or show vendor status, like it was stuck. and on mobile its kinda hard to use so mostly just use it on desktop.

compliance is always a big pain for small teams like us. comp ai helped us get thru soc2 type 1 without hiring some external guy or spending months reading docs. it automated most of the boring parts like evidence collection and policy mapping. this saved us ton of time and we could focus on product instead. now we feel more confident going after bigger enterprise clients too.

No downsides that I can think of currently. They did exactly what we needed and delivered earlier than expected!

**What problems is Comp AI solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Comp AI helped us get audit ready for SOC 2 Type 2 in only 2 weeks. It was really cool when we put in the onboarding information, their AI automatically created the policies, risks, and scraped information on vendors that were required, then all we had to do was review them and provide the evidence, any questions the Comp AI team gave us a direct link to their calendars and put us directly into a channel with their security team. When talking to one of their competitors, the competitor wanted us to go with 3 different services, they were going to charge us for the platform, the technical support to get compliant and then a third fee for the auditors. With Comp, we paid the equivalent to only the platform fee and got all 3!

**What do you like best about Comp AI?**

Comp AI was able to simply these overcomplicated frameworks into only a simple handful of tasks. Because of this we were able to get compliant significantly quicker than we thought and had much less headache than many of our colleagues told us to expect.

**What do you dislike about Comp AI?**

More frameworks needed! They only have a couple, I know they are still new, but definitely need to add some more.

**What problems is Comp AI solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a requirement to get compliant within a few weeks. In the case of SOC 2, we had to get into our observation period, otherwise we were not going to qualify for a contract we had won. Comp AI charged us about a third of the price that some of the competitors are charging. The Comp price is all inclusive of the technical assessment/remediation and the actual audit, unlike many of the competitors that offer that as 3 different services.

**What do you like best about Comp AI?**

The open source approach is honestly refreshing in a space dominated by expensive enterprise solutions. being able to self-host gave us complete control over our data, which was huge for our security team. The AI-powered evidence collection saved us weeks of manual work and it automatically gathered screenshots and documentation across our AWS infrastructure without us having to babysit the process

**What do you dislike about Comp AI?**

Setting up the self-hosted version took more technical know-how than expected. while the documentation is decent, you definitely need someone comfortable with containerization and server management to get it running smoothly. The community around it is growing but still pretty small compared to established players, so finding solutions to edge cases sometimes means waiting for responses or figuring things out yourself

**What problems is Comp AI solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before comp ai, getting compliance certifications meant either hiring expensive consultants or spending months manually gathering evidence and creating policies. We were looking at $50,000+ just for SOC 2 preparation with traditional solutions. Comp AI automated the tedious parts like the policy generation, evidence collection, and gap analysis while giving us the flexibility to customize everything for our specific setup. The continuous monitoring means we're not scrambling before audits anymore. Most importantly, it removed the compliance bottleneck that was preventing us from pursuing enterprise customers. Now we can focus on building our product instead of wrestling with compliance paperwork, and we've already closed two deals that required SOC 2 certification
