We use BrightTALK weekly to run webinars and live talks. It's the heart of our 'Always-on marketing machine'. For our needs, this is the best platform for delivering a seamless experience to our existing audiences and acquiring new ones. When using BrightTALK's Lead campaigns we can leverage the full potential of the platform in finding new subscribers to our channel and keep on delivering quality content.

I'd like to have more cloning possibilities, ie Attachments. Now we need to re-type these every time when setting up a new Talk.

BrightTALK is an easy platform to use with an incredibly responsive support team. I used BrightTALK at my last job, and made adding the tool one of my priorities in kicking off a new Thought Leadership program at my new job.

**What do you dislike about BrightTALK (Informa TechTarget)?**

I sometimes have to poke around a bit to find the information I need on my channel. But for the most part, I find the platform user friendly.

**Recommendations to others considering BrightTALK (Informa TechTarget):**

The subscription model for the webinar platform allows you to do unlimited broadcasts and is quite cost-effective.  The tool is easy for both the administrator of the account to use as well as the speakers, plus the built-in audience and AI tools used for promotion can help you build your audience. If you have a big ideas but a small staff and limited budget, you can't find a better use of money for online events.

As a leader in the industry, we need a platform to use to educate buyers about the technology and our offerings. We are just kicking off our first webinar, but I have big plans to start ongoing series and expect to show an exceptional ROI after our first year.

We have been using this for over a year now - love how easy it is to use (especially with the new UI). My customer success team (EMILY!) has been amazing. Always quick to respond and great tips for an even better ROI. Highly recommend giving this a go if your company is looking to start diving into the webinar world.

No big dislikes, I think the integration with Salesforce needs to be updated, but it is fine as is.

The best feature we like is the viewing certificates. Quality webinars and talks boost our executive's knowledge and keep them up to date with the various advancements.

There is nothing to dislike. Specific international IP Address' is blocked, and some of our executives can only access the website via a VPN. There should be more languages support.

It has been very helpful during the COVID lockdown. Our executives and consultants have improved knowledge of various information technology advances and risk and financial management updates.

Their customer success manager did try to help us when we had issues (thanks Trish!).

**What do you dislike about BrightTALK (Informa TechTarget)?**

Unfortunately, there are several things that I am unhappy with. We had multiple issues with the integration to HubSpot, where some contacts data either didn't come through partially or at all. We also had bad experience with their lead generation package, as leads from BT were of significatnly worse quality then what we could aquire by promoting the webianrs via LinkedIn, which resulted in MQL costs 3x as high. We had further issues that during onboarding some aspects of how the platform work (ie. people can too easily register by accident to a webinar, even though someone is marked as having "viewed" a webinar this may not be the case and viewing duration should be used for lead qualificaiton) led to lots of frustration from the sales team, who would call people who did not even remember registering.

We wanted to use Brighttalk to increase our lead generation. We did achieve this, but the lead quality is very low and not worth the investment. As a platform, there are way too many issues with it.

Platform for webinars in cyber security.

Everything. The service, the product is really buggy and hard to use. The BT team tries to squeeze more money out of you after getting paid a premium. The integrations took half year to work properly. Can't launch a campaign because they want more money for better targeting, after you paid for it already.

Nothing, use Zoom and upload to your website / youtube for the same results at a fraction of the price.

BrightTALK includes everything you need to create a successful webinar and integrates another tool to register new contacts and have the right access to the webinar, for instance using Hubspot. Then your contacts won't miss the links and the right announcements on time to be able to access the webinar.

I think the BrightTALK interface could have an UX update, to look more modern.

I've presented on the BrightTALK platform for many years. The audience reach is excellent and their summits provide a good focus for particular subjects. Their support service is also very helpful.

There isn't much to dislike. Since they updated their platform, it has resolved some of the usability issues I had in the past.

Build a relationship  with an event manager and stay in touch to get early heads up for future summit opportunities

Once I got the hang of posting content and producing talks, I find the platform very intuitive and reliable. I create little 2-week project plans with my clients to produce, promote, analyze, and follow up on talks.

**What do you dislike about BrightTALK (Informa TechTarget)?**

Sometimes I'm concerned that audiences aren't engaged enough- could be my content's fault! But also the fatigue of too many online events / promotions from BrightTALK.

Make sure you have the time to learn and optimize and keep posting content! Make your channel consistent and good, and BrightTALK audiences will engage.

**What do you like best about BrightTALK (Informa TechTarget)?**

Our marketing team has used BrightTalk as a central part of our inbound and nurturing strategy for 2 years. BrightTalk's interface has been dead simple for our subject matter experts to use, and their team has consistently added new features and capabilities. When we've needed support, their team has also responded rapidly. 

The difference between BrightTalk and other webinar platforms is that BrightTalk has worked to build a community around the people who present on its platforms. They want to be the "YouTube of webinars," so they offer recommendation tools designed to bring in newcomers interested in your topic.

**What do you dislike about BrightTALK (Informa TechTarget)?**

The audience-facing interface is kind of ugly. Ditto for their automated email reminders. (Though you do have the ability of turning those off and sending your own messages.) 

While we like the recommendation tools, it does bring a lot of randos into our registration lists. If you're using BrightTalk as a lead generation tool, that's not great. BrightTalk does offer vetting / segmentation tools, but those are another (expensive, I'd argue) upcharge.

In 2020, our live events completely evaporated. BrightTalk's webinars gave us a new (and less expensive) way to engage with our audience. We especially like their on-camera Talks; we use them to host a monthly Q&A with our CEO, which has helped us stay on prospects' minds.

Its interface turns out to be its main attraction and point in its favor, the fact that it can easily without any problems to create, view or save the webinars that we carry out in our company in a much easier and simpler way, the fact that it allows me to create a channel where I can store and save all the information of my webinars made for me constitutes a powerful tool, since it allows me to have greater control and order of the webinars made by me, the quality of the audio and video They are quite good, which is of great help when showing quality information to my followers, their customer service team is quite practical and receptive when attending one with any inconvenience that may arise.

It has some small errors but these do not affect the performance or functionality of this application.

It has been very useful for me to create a channel where I can make my webinars and that they are available at any time for my subscribers, basically it helped me create a kind of YouTube channel but let's say more exclusive, since they can only enter the people who have access to the content that I publish, in general terms, I have been quite pleased that the application seems phenomenal to me and the fact that I can have more control and easier access to the content that I publish seems extremely Useful.

I like how easy it is to set up a webinar, have the registrations managed by the platform and the FU as well.
The team's customer support is above anything else I've ever received from a marketing tool, they are very responsive and do a great job in supporting the implementation process.

The webinar platform itself needs some improvements like the ability to play a video and talk simultaneously while its running or the ability to see the speaker while the presentation in deiaplayed.

We wanted to get our content available to more crowds and to streamline the webinar process from registration to FU.

**What do you like best about BrightTALK (Informa TechTarget)?**

Its ease of use is extremely useful, in fact thanks to this I have been able to improve the quality of my videos and subscribers to my channel all in a fairly simple, easy and fast way, the interface provides a quite pleasant experience, without any need by making greater efforts, it is capable of doing everything we want in a fairly agile and uncomplicated way, its customer service team is quite receptive and efficient when it comes to solving existing doubts or concerns. Personally, it has helped us to improve the quality of our webinars and to keep everything in a much more efficient order than we were always managing (which was practically non-existent), I really think it is a good tool that meets what promises.

**What do you dislike about BrightTALK (Informa TechTarget)?**

I consider that it needs to improve some things, such as its connection stability, its flexibility in terms of use and achieving greater integrations with other applications in order to get more out of this application.

Above all to maintain a better order of my webinars, since this tool has allowed me to create the equivalent of a YouTube channel where I can upload all the material that I have available so that my clients and followers can access at any time to see the material that provokes them in a simple, easy and fast way.

Easy to use and provide demo but the limited features definitely allow for simplicity of the platform

- No interaction between audience and presenters
- Inflexible
- No further engagement
- No visibility for resources
- Too many emails from BrightTalk is irritating
- Broadcast platform & not interactive

It's very ancient platform and if you're looking for just broadcasting one way info, then go for BrightTalk. They're very slow in implementing new features and taking recommendations. The account manager does not care about you at all and barely ever responds to your questions. It's ancient technology and I wouldnt recommend it to someone who's looking to engaging with the auidence through webinars.

Engaging with our target audience

Mostly organic engagement driven through our own efforts. We;ve faced a lot of limitations from BrightTalk and it refelects badly on us to be using this type of platform considering we're a technology company. 

The Brighttalk features are very very ancient!

Marketo gets a lead for every viewer, unlike YouTube. 
BrightTALK promote my content.
I like the ability to do mock-live events for more polish. 
Presenters like the Audiance builds as long a you continue to add content

Audio fails for 1% of viewers and they have no backup line to call. 
I would like to be able to use a Marketo reg page

I built 1000 video subscribers in 11 months at my last company so I brought it into my current employer, where we built a 2500 subscriber list in 18 months. I like the way the platform has evolved and appreciate the product managers keep me engaged. Support is pretty good.

The experience during a webinar is smooth. Having the ability for multiple presenters to control a slide show presentation equally is beneficial in that the moderator doesn't have to worry about switching controls midway through.

You have to pre-set an exact time that you expect the webinar to run, so it's better to estimate too long than too short. For example, if you're creating a webinar and you set the run time as 45 minutes, the platform will end the presentation at exactly the 45 minute mark, regardless of if you're actually complete or not. It's better to estimate for too long of a time window and just end the presentation manually when you're complete. Additionally, you can only dial in a maximum of 15 minutes prior to a webinar, no sooner.

Our relationship with our account rep Hannah, who did everything in her power to find ways to help us find some form of success on the platform. She was incredible.

They responded to my initial review which I appreciate and have softened some of the language below.

**What do you dislike about BrightTALK (Informa TechTarget)?**

Onboarding experience was rough around the edges and integration isn't super user friendly.

1. HubSpot integration requires you to manually map every field.
2. You can't push data to BrightTALK. This means you have to use their form for sign up which means:
3. You have to send people to a page hosted on their website. The other option is hosting their form on your own site, but there is no code customization. Both options result in you losing user-level tracking and an inability to track events and goals in Google Analytics. Essentially, you're losing tracking on the effectiveness of your entire webinar program.
4. This also means that they're providing information to BrightTALK, so not only are they going to hear from us, they're going to get emails from their marketing team about other unrelated webinars.
5. Despite selling us the natural fit of their audience, registration numbers were incredibly low. They tried to compensate by giving us 4 premium, mock-live webinars. We tried that once and got 5 signups, one was me, one was a BrightTALK employee. It wasn't even worth the effort to get it live.

**UPDATE: They responded to this bullet claiming they got us 50 free leads. I went back to check on the quality and I counted 3 that resembled anything remotely close to our target market. Others included companies like XYZ, Personal, Test, Withheld and a competitor.

7. After all of this and constant back and forth, we decided it wasn't worth the effort to continue using their platform, despite the fact that we had 6 months left on our contract. After informing them of our decision, they responded claiming we have had 28 views on a webinar in 6 months. Half of those views were from internal employees.

**UPDATE: They have since followed up. While I don't agree with most of it, I appreciate the follow-up.

**Recommendations to others considering BrightTALK (Informa TechTarget):**

If you're looking to simply stay afloat, go for it.

None. We were trying to drive qualified leads to our webinar program, but that didn't work out.

1. I feel your pain - this has been a sub-par experience for a while. Fortunately, we've released a new Hubspot connector that's getting rave reviews from customers that shared your concerns. Hopefully, we're not too late and you'll be equally delighted :-)

2. Definitely understood - a few of our customers also want more control of the reg experience and we make our APIs available to our clients so they can. So yes, pushing data from you to BrightTALK and vice versa is totally doable. 

3. This one was a bit of a surprise because our clients usually love our modern, HTML5 embeds as they increase conversions by 60%+ and substantially increase time on page. Again, these can also be customized, so not sure where the disconnect was there, but keen to help!

4. BrightTALK takes data privacy and management very seriously (one of our customers recently described us as one of their only GDPR-ready vendors: https://www.brighttalk.com/webcast/7785/323377). That said, I totally get the concern and you're free to completely opt out of the BrightTALK network. Most of our customers don't opt out because it gives them access to millions of buyers who are actively sourcing technology and they know how much their target audience uses BrightTALK to learn and grow.

5. It's frustrating when you put a ton of work into your webinar program and the audience numbers don't reflect the effort. I didn't see any paid audience programs you're working on with us, which is how you get instant results. For organic traffic, it takes some time - when I take away BrightTALK and Salsify subscribers, you actually got 50 free leads, which isn't bad considering your publishing frequency. 

On your last point around your contract: as soon as I hear back from you I look forward to exploring how we can turn this into a success story. Again, thank you for being so open and honest.

This included having a crew come onsite to direct and film interviews with our employees. The final result was well-polished video content that we could use for marketing purposes.

The final product turned out great. The team we worked with was very efficient and great with communication. No major dislikes.

Previously, we used Go To Webinar for external facing webinars. The reason why we moved to BrightTalk is because it provides in addition to webcasting, access to 1m+ users. Our channel and videos are promoted to other community member that have an interest in our industry/topics/ products.

**What do you dislike about BrightTALK (Informa TechTarget)?**

BrightTalk comes with a series of pre-built email that will be automatically triggered off for all event invitations/reminders/follow-ups (very practical). The drawback is that those are BrightTalk branded. If you want to copy and rebrand those emails with your own look and feel, you need to build them from scratch and any changes BrightTalk will make  to dynamic tags (existing or new ones such) will need to be manually changed by the admin (you).

Go to a different vendor. Unreliable platform.

**What do you dislike about BrightTALK (Informa TechTarget)?**

The platform had "technical issues" minutes before a webinar we had been planning for 6 weeks. They notified our company 3 minutes into the webinar that they were unable to fix the issue and that we would need to reschedule our webinar for later in the day.

Further, you are required to login in order to subscribe to a webinar. Huge barrier to entry.

Go to another provider.

We aren't solving any because the platform doesn't work.
