When you have NXT and Blackbaud Merchant Services, Online Express makes online giving setup easy. Building giving forms, updating them in real-time, and making gift processing easy/integrated, I recommend this part of OE. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The Email and Event pieces still feel incomplete and need significant improvement. We can't use the email tool because the variable merge fields are so restrictive; you have very few choices and nothing you can manually map (like an attribute with a gift ask or last gift information). Email for communication/stewardship works, but not a solicitation. The Event tool is a big disappointment; the videos do not fully explain how it works, and the complexity of an event is limited. Blackbaud Online Express is the database version of e-marketing/e-commerce in RE NXT. It is relatively easy to learn quickly and gives you a decent amount of features to customize your forms and connect with BBMS. The features for Tribute Gifts, Recurring Gifts, and Notes are great, but some features are missing in the product as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Online Express is limited in the flexibility of the forms, adding custom parts/boxes, and manipulating response emails after an online form has been completed. It would be nice to have more customized options for response emails to staff and donors, as well as being able to pull some more of the form input details into the email messages than what is currently available. Blackbaud's email portion of the Online Express add-on is absolutely frustrating. The User experience is not intuitive, complicated, and the outcome of the emails looks outdated and unattractive. There has not been any updates that I am aware of to the Online Express plug-in. It is so user unfriendly that we have chosen to export our email addresses and utilize a different program (Constant Contact) because of the product that you can produce with their easy to use system. I have inquired many times about when Online Express will be updated, only to be told that perhaps I should use Luminate instead. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

You can't even log on smoothly like you can with literally any other mail service provider; you need to find a bizarre URL and use a username and password that doesn't work anywhere else on Blackbaud. If you forget the password, you can't reset it like you can with any other platform, instead, you need to contact an administrator, which is bs. Then, you have to download a plugin, and get this - you have to download this plugin every single time you want to open Online Express. Just let that sink in, you have to download something from a bizarre URL every. single. time. Then you log in again on a window that can only be described as something that was created when you'd still have to unplug your phone and fax machine to use the internet. No joke, no exaggeration, it looks like it's never been updated since Windows 1998. I didn't even bother making an email campaign in there, given the shit show it already proved itself to be.
