**What do you like best about Altus Alliance?**

Their abilities in informed listening. Their advice is specific and helpful because of their expertize in the field. I also like their integrated model that manages to consider the complexity of factors involved. And they can make it simple and focused on our unique set of issues that we confront. And they are great people, which matters a lot.

**What do you dislike about Altus Alliance?**

I do not see a downside to using Altus Alliance. They are very good about clarity in the relationship, understand their value and contribution, and abilitiy to shape outcomes. Too often business leaders limit their impact by not involving them enough.

**Recommendations to others considering Altus Alliance:**

The great advantage of Altus is their experience in numerous verticals. Give them a call and have a conversation. You might be surprised how quickly they can be helpful to a complex and essential aspect of your business.

We are taking an innovative product and associated services to market. Altus is helping us sharpen our messaging, ideal customer, and market. We're looking to scale our sales team based upon these results. Altus' understanding of past models and the future trends has been of tremendous benefit. We are gaining access and each time improving our win rate.

**What do you like best about Altus Alliance?**

First off, they are very likeable.  There is a no B.S. aspect about working with them and they feel like that are working to accomplish your mission and not to simply get paid.  I was reluctant to delegate pricing to them but they convinced me that it would yield a better, more objective, saleable and sustainable result.  They listened well.  They customized their process and offering for where our business was and what we needed.  They structured our contract with them in a win/win fashion.  My customers reacted very favorably to their professionalism.  They made us look bigger than we were.

**What do you dislike about Altus Alliance?**

During phases of work they could go subterrainian between deliverables so you didn't know if the goal was being accomplished.  More frequent communication on progress, pitfalls or anticipated outcomes would have helped.

**Recommendations to others considering Altus Alliance:**

Trust their process especially for doing market research as a stepping stone to selling.  They have done this before in a lot of different scenarios and they understand different types of players, barriers to success and how to overcome them.  They are frank in their feedback.  Listen.  Don't engage them just for market research or just for selling.  Figure out a strategy to work with them on the market development and the go to market strategy and implementation.  Ask how it will transition so that you are not dependent on their abilities in the long term but you grow your capacity to do the same.

**What problems is Altus Alliance solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I had built a program that was successful in terms of value proposition but had yet to charge its customers for the services provided. Altus Alliance interviewed all of the customers, did market research looking at similar companies and offerings, and set the pricing for the program. In addition to setting the pricing, they went out and made the asks to get the process started. It relieved me from several challenges including time, being the bad cop (asking for the money) and created a sense of professional input into the pricing for the program. They also gave me aggregated feedback from the customers about what we needed to improve to justify the pricing. Since that time we have been able to raise substantial revenue for that program based on the work that they did. They filled in resources where we didn't have them and scaled the program to the point that we did not need them anymore. That essential building of capacity following market research was a huge benefit to our operation.

We had decided to remove and rebuild our sales team for B2B technology services and software products. In order to get a fast start, we engaged an Altus team comprised of a sales VP and two regional sales directors.

**What do you like best about Altus Alliance?**

The fact that Altus has been (through multiple engagements in multiple companies) a reliable partner able to hit the ground running and delvier the results we need.

Still on the lookout for things I dislike.

Sales, especially B2B high tech sales is hard and sales efforts fail more often than not. Building teams and structures organically is difficult and also results in frequent false starts. Altus has given me a dependable partner in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment. And they reduce much of the risk we would otherwise be faced with.

**What problems is Altus Alliance solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Building an entirely new sales organization from scratch, developing comprehensive processes, and building and executing a go-to-market strategy.

Altus has been a tremendous help in providing Netskrt with professional and experienced sales and marketing team, including standing up a BDR team and Consultants in sales and marketing strategy:  positioning, value prop, pricing and more. The BDR team was professional, efficient, successful and quite frankly, the best BDRs we've ever had. Our sales were a hockey stick the first month Altus started. The marketing consulting was invaluable assisting us to create realistic goals and the roadmap to achieve them.

I find myself disappointed when working with other consultants and firms that are not Altus. They have set the bar high.

Don't overprepare. If you find yourself and your team needing actionable revenue-growing and scaling strategies, reach out to them and get to work today. I waited and I now realize that we could have achieved so much more sooner. They are willing to meet you wherever your team currently is.

I would have liked introduction to your Altus network of customers which I was unable to get. A few introductions did come through directly from Marti's network from LinkedIn.  I was hoping to close atleast one or two deals with Altus's help but unfortunately we could not.  It could very well be related to market downturn and timing.

Altus is great at creating strategies for GTM!

Grow Sales with potential enterprise and SMB customers!

Marti helped us create a system where we can measure our progress - The funnel system and Huspot CRM system.  She helped create customer list from various sources to begin the funnel process that is in the works now.  She also helped us find an SDR.

**What do you like best about Altus Alliance?**

The most distinguishing factor about Altus is that they truly go out of their way to "hear" you as a client. I've worked with plenty of people in the past who would take feedback or requests with a nod and a smile, but not really change anything. Not so with Altus! When you talk, they listen, and then they actually adjust! This was really critical especially for making sure all of our stakeholders were comfortable with the eventual work product.

Honestly, no complaints. They were really solid, and I would be happy to work with them again.

If you're looking for a very experienced sales/GTM group that is eager to not just develop a plan, but to put their own butts on the line for executing that plan, then you really can't go wrong with Altus. Highly recommended.

We engaged Altus to do a comprehensive prospective market analysis and GTM plan for a highly technical and very fast moving industry and product. In fact, the precise product offerings were still evolving through the course of Altus's work, and they handled the changes with aplomb.

Altus had a hands-on approach, working closely with our team, customers, and vendors.   They did not just recommend a long list of solutions in a white paper.  They went one step further than other consultants by implementing the suggested solutions.

The Altus Alliance team members I have had the pleasure of working with are not only very fun people to get to know and work with, but they are also extremely professional, and knowledgeable, but more importantly, they are always transparent about the suggestions and initiatives they are helping our company with.

I don't dislike anything if I'm being honest. Companies that want to improve and change have to look at themselves in the mirror and be open to change. Change isn't always easy to accept. While it can be difficult for some who are set in their ways, personally for me it's been a breath of wlecomed fresh air. I know some new ideas and initiatives need to be implemented. Without Altus Alliance, those things would've been impossible for us to identify and solve on our own.

Altus Alliance has an impressive list of partners and experts who can be used in various phases... from the discovery phase through solutioning and actual delivery of changes. needed.  Shne's decision to use Jerry Hilburn has been important since his expertise and insights have been valuable.

At first it was difficult to be patient with the initial stages of our engagement with Altus Alliance.  However, I eventually realized that their thoroughness and learnings in the early stages were key to their successful planning.

Be patient.. and listen to their recommendations closely.  They have the people and the knowledge.

In the interest of privacy, I will not list any issues which Altus Alliance is working on.  However, I would like to emphasize that Shane Hunt took his time first to listen to what our leadership saw as our needs and goals.  But then, instead of jumping the gun as some do, Shane and his team did a methodical exploration of our systems, processes and people.  This then led to recommendations and specific plans to achieve those goals.

I  enjoyed working closely with our team at Altus. They provide a perspective from outside of our industry so that we can use best practices from their broad experience and background.

At first, it was difficult to quantify the amount we were spending through the initial research process. However, those worries were put to rest when the final report came out for the first phase. Our entire leadership team was very happy with the results and intel Altus provided.

We've solved the problem of where to focus, which is a common problem in our industry. We engaged Altus at a pivotal turning point for the company after completing two acquisitions in the past year.  As a result, we had numerous verticals and service offerings that were confusing the company's strategic direction.  We needed a complete overhaul of our sales/marketing strategy from the verticals we should focus on, to the sales team org chart, to the technical enablement tools, and everything in between.

**What do you like best about Altus Alliance?**

Altus provided market research on competition and best practices that we didn't have the knowledge or time to figure out.  They provided strategic clarity that was unbiased and fact-driven, instead of the numerous opinions we had from leaders in the organization, including myself.  I was looking for a purely objective analysis of what we should do, not what we thought we should do.  Altus has delivered that and more.  I would have never been able to design a sales organization the way they have.  I'm confident in the ROI that we'll receive in the future from working with Altus.

**What do you dislike about Altus Alliance?**

Honestly, there isn't much I've disliked about Altus.  The process will take longer than expected, but I guess that is what happens when you have to build a sales organization from scratch!  That is more on me than them.

I did not have a clear strategy for building my sales and marketing team.  Then, I decided it would be a good idea to acquire two companies, which compounded the issue of not having a sales and marketing strategy.  Altus has provided the strategic direction we needed and couldn't have delivered on our own.

As a long established company in a mature industry we needed to develop a scalable growth model that accounts for the new market realities arising from the pandemic.

**What do you like best about Altus Alliance?**

The best aspect of working with Altus is their team.  Specifically we engaged one key person, Shane Hunt, as our Chief Revenue Officer, who has become deeply embedded in our company.  On our own, we would never have been able to attract someone of Shane's caliber and experience.  His steady confident approach is having beneficial impacts on all aspects of the company and not just the scope of his engagement.

**What do you dislike about Altus Alliance?**

I actually don't see any downside.  We have an open ended arrangement with Altus that we will maintain as long as it is working for us and for them.

**Recommendations to others considering Altus Alliance:**

I asked Shane to interview with several members of my team to ensure he was a good cultural fit and to give him credibility with the team when making strategic changes in our direction.

**What problems is Altus Alliance solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Within two months of Shane's engagement we decided upon a completely different go to market strategy that emphasizes our strengths and our history.  We are refining our brand, focusing on the end user user of our products with an obsession on the customer experience and building out a complete digital marketing strategy.  On top of that we are building a completely new inside sales team that will be more effective at revenue generation with a lower cost structure than we previously had working with independent sales representatives.  We expect to expand revenue by at least 20% in 2021 with a significant boost to bottom line performance.

Another significant benefit of working with Altus is the network of professional services firms they work with and can vouch for.  We have hired a number of additional outside agencies based on Shane's recommendations and all of them have been fantastic helping us to make very rapid progress at a reasonable cost.

Re-engineering of our Sales & Marketing Strategy.  They ascertained the state of our industry, our position within the industry and helped devise a plan to better penetrate our target markets.   Throughout the process they were able to implement the selected new tools which ultimately helped us determine who among our users would adopt and adapt to the new solution versus remaining entrenched in their old ways.  Ultimately, this made difficult personnel decisions easy as there was quantifiable data to support tough decisions.

**What do you like best about Altus Alliance?**

The company engaged and conducted a deep dive into our current processes and listened to our objectives.  They provided a comprehensive overview that aligned well with our objectives.  Recommendations were made on new resources to be leveraged and they helped to make the changes to our CRM platform as well as incorporate the new tools to ensure they were adopted and used correctly.  The solution forced veteran employees to move outside of their comfort zone and take on new challenges.  They actively solicited feedback from the sales team which helped to improve the adoption of the new tools.  The solutions they put into place are now giving me the tools to see how my sales team is spending their time and I can quickly determine who's focusing their efforts on the parts of their job that will ultimately grow the company.  Even during this pandemic we're reaching more prospects and having more meaningful discussions.

**What do you dislike about Altus Alliance?**

There really wasn't much to dislike.  I enjoyed working with one of the primary consultants who unfortunately was offered another opportunity during our engagement.  The timing of the engagement coincided with COVID-19 so it's really difficult to determine an immediate ROI, but my personal opinion is that without their help we would have been far worse off without their help to keep pressing forward even during the pandemic.  One of the data-sources proved to be expensive and failed to provide the data we had hoped to obtain.

**Recommendations to others considering Altus Alliance:**

Be honest and open with your challenges and be prepared to provide insight as to where you feel your industry is headed as this will help Altus to best develop a solution to help guide you to your desired outcome.  I'd let them come in and perform a deep dive assessment of your sales organization in order to better determine what needs you may have.  They will engage with your customers, competitors and find sources of information that will help to validate the approach they ultimately recommend, which helped me to see what my competition was doing and thereby enabled me to catch up to my peers in the space.

**What problems is Altus Alliance solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Standardization of our prospecting approach, utilizing tools to help better target our messaging to companies that have a need for our service.  Recommendation of tools/resources that facilitated the change and help with implementation.   Creation of a new Sales Operations approach to help leverage the new tools efficiently beyond the engagement.  I really don't feel as though we would have been able to successfully implement the new tools without the help from Altus and we'd still be trying to leverage help from sales people associated with the tools after the sale.  The tools have forced my sales team to focus on areas that were previously neglected and ultimately has made them more accountable in areas where I want them focused.  Statistical data from these new tools helped to reinforce the perceptions garnered on the teams performance which ultimately led to some positive changes.

All the recommendations and changes were backed by the data and insights of the historical performance of the company combined with a comprehensive analysis of our market segments today and in the future.  The depth of data from market interviews, market research and competitive analysis made it easy for us to implement the recommendations and change the focus of the company.

It was hard for me to gauge progress towards the ultimate goal at some intermediate steps while early in the engagement, but after raising some of my initial concerns, the Altus team went above and beyond to align with us, communicate in intermediate steps transparently about their process, and even engaged additional resources (at no additional cost to us) to deliver a comprehensive and excellent final deliverable.

Altus has confirmed my belief in boutique consulting firms.  A deep bench of seasoned sales pros who follow a proven process but totally adapt to the needs of the engagement.  Tier 1 firms usually only have one senior player on the project and the support is all junior.  With revenue and sales challenges you need experience.

Doug and his team are high integrity people that you can count on to do what they say they will do.  They have ability to move quickly and broad enough experience to have solutions for a variety of business verticals and situations.  Instead of a client betting all success on hiring an ideal VP of Sales, Altus allows clients to tap into their deep expertise and get a successful process and game plan in place for revenue generation.  This process then enables a company to have much more flexibility, time and options for long term hiring.

We worked with Mr. Nordale to help us in our business development efforts. Our business was thriving but not at the pace that we thought might be available to our business. Dan showed us how we can leverage our nimble team when setting up deals to help our customers where other larger players just couldn't compere. 

This ended up leading us to improve how we positioned our product, company, and team in the market. He showed us that we should think bigger and use our expertise to win larger deals.

Mr. Nordale, was incredibly knowledgeable and showed us how to increase our sales while decreasing our costs. Through all of this Dan was always available to leadership and would act as a coach and advisor.

Distance. We are based in Chicago and Mr. Nordale was in Seattle. That said, he worked on Chicago time and was available to us whenever we asked. B2B and B2C revenue growth initiatives. We sell in both channels - wholesale and direct to consumer. They're experts in avoiding channel conflict - we had to move to direct but also needed to protect our retail accounts that provide a very important touch point. One of the main differences with Altus is that is starts with the Brand first in accelerating sales. Going back to why we started dannyshane in the first place.

**What do you like best about Altus Alliance?**

They don't just advise, they lead the engagement after the comprehensive Market Driven Assessment. Their Out-Brief of Prescriptive Recommendations had evidence of trends via data to real quotes from the target audience. Truly quantifiable, qualifiable research and key insights in this moment in time. They completely removed the mystery of where we are and where we should go.

**What do you dislike about Altus Alliance?**

Not much to dislike. It's expensive, but we needed access to data and best practices.

They have several talented partners. Spend some time with the Managing Partners to find the right fit for your engagement. Not just vertical expertise, but personality. They have a deep bench of Partners that they pull in for support when needed.

**What problems is Altus Alliance solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Refining our value proposition as we solve 3 different problems, prioritizing 4 different audiences that benefit from using our product. Then being able to lease their associates to do the work and talent acquisition. It's not transactionally focused to may sales and profits. But about people, changing their minds, aligning with the best audience where our values are completely aligned.

The team follows through on their recommendations rather than just making a recommendation or delivering a report and moving on.

Nothing yet.  The guys are smart, personable, listen well and adapt.

We are solving for low to no sales growth.  It's early yet, but the benefit of activity and focus is being realized and we fully expect to solve our problems with the help of Altus.

We were doing effectively a turnaround inside a small SaaS platform company, that needed a major revamp of sales process, team and operations, among other things. Altus provided an Acting VP Sales who had the experience to quickly set goals, layout processes, and be both deeply hands on with our staff (existing and new recruits) plus communicate with a ton of credibility at the board level. Within a few month nearly everything was revised - pitch decks, sales approach, contracts, terms - and we were selling annual and even multi-year agreements where before we were month with no long term commitment. And we had a strategy designed to put the company in the long term position it needed to be in.

**What do you like best about Altus Alliance?**

Two big strengths, first the person that took our role was great, bringing a lot of direct relevant experience and good management skills. He was eager to work - hands on - and a genuine strategic thinker. He had a playbook he wanted to run but he also customized and considered the unique aspects of our market and our business. Second, the larger Altus team was able to share perspectives from a wide/deep bench, so as leader I could feel like I had a broad set of advisors to turn to and trust.

**What do you dislike about Altus Alliance?**

The largest risk of a relationship like this would be the buildup of IP and Experience that's going into a contracted player - he's learning a ton about your business and building relationships with you clients, but in the end he's not a long term employee. The Altus willingness to go deep but then step out gracefully, and even assist and support the recruiting and role transfer, removes this issue, as long as you set time frames that work for your business and then execute the transition at the right time. Cost isn't cheap, but neither is a long sales hiring process or worse a bad VP Sales hire. 

**Recommendations to others considering Altus Alliance:**

For on-demand sales leadership expertise, I recommend giving them a good look. My experience was very strong and I'd definitely turn to them again.

Per above, we needed a quick start, confident experienced sales leader, and someone to help us formulate and execute a new strategy very quickly. We got all of that via this engagement.

I hired Altus to help us validate if our business case hypothesis was grounded in reality.  This was a technology company looking to break into a new space - we were opinionated, yet detached from the target markets.

**What do you like best about Altus Alliance?**

Top of the list is that Altus is driven by real, direct interactions with the market, leveraging its broad network across verticals.  Compare that to larger and more famous consulting companies which are more academic in their assessments, and which are more likely to deliver an attractive - and optimistic - business case.  Altus is prepared to take responsibility for execution, so they make sure to be more realistic than optimistic.

**What do you dislike about Altus Alliance?**

As a smaller, boutique consulting firm, they may be difficult to sell internally; personally I believe their record and references speak for themselves.  Once in execution mode, it may actually be an advantage not to be part of a tier 1 firm, when working at the ground level in the market place.

Explore the full breadth and depth of what Altus can do to help.  We found that we started with a narrow need, and uncovered many more Altus capabilities that ultimately made sense to tie together.

Altus opened our eyes to new go-to-market paths, and exposed major risks in our existing plans.  In addition, Altus establishes market relationships that turn into Sales leads. We end up with multiple sets of contacts across markets - subject matter experts that inform our strategies, and sales leads which validate our strategies.

Sales to major accounts and sales and process improvements for our new division. Doug Schulze not only taught us how to sell into the competitive Hollywood entertainment market, he also managed our largest account and bedded in a major Hollywood studio that is still a customer 10 years later. Many of the policies and procedures that were instilled by Altus still stand today.

**What do you like best about Altus Alliance?**

What I liked best about Altus is the personal attention I got from the people at Altus. They understood where we were coming from and made sure that their enhancements were custom fit to our business.

**What do you dislike about Altus Alliance?**

The only real downside of Altus was the cost of the service. I think they were worth what we paid for but I wish it was something we could have done on our own without incurring consulting fees.

Altus brought us process, procedure and experience when we really needed it. What they taught us has become the bedrock for the sales and customer service procedures we have in force today.

**What do you like best about Altus Alliance?**

The Altus team is deeply experienced and comes to the engagement with an actual framework, yet one that was personalized for our needs.  It was the opposite of a "one size fits all" consulting engagement.

I didn't dislike anything and will engage with Altus in the future.

Altus has a lot of capabilities and partnerships.  Having a deep internal understanding of what you are truly trying to achieve through working with Altus will maximize your result.

Our product is not an easy one to articulate and we were too close to it to listen from the customers voice.  Altus provided that objective, external ear and applied their process to help us break through some real sales and marketing barriers, and to help us grow revenue as we took our product to market.

Complete and total ownership of the project. Altus demonstrated their extensive knowledge base every day. No stone left unturned. They delivered exactly what was promised.

**What do you dislike about Altus Alliance?**

If I had to pick one things, and it's hard to come up with one things, is that it would have been nicer if the process went faster, however this was not on altus, just the work itself. No complaints

As previously described we were starting from ground zero, we didn't understand how to approach the market and how to go about gaining market data in a systematic approach. Altus not only showed us the way but taught us how to fish moving forward.

 Comprehensive assessment with the goal of understanding the business model, organization, products and product roadmap, people and dynamics of the organization So that gap’s and opportunities to grow the business can be identified and leveraged. A three-year business plan was created along with defining our mission and vision statements and key strategies that will enable our company to create a sustainable  competitive advantage in the market.

Very little. Altus was able to understand our business very quickly and identify areas of weakness for our company to focus on.
