The ability to integrate with Excel and upload plans/budgets straight from excel is awesome. **What do you dislike about Acterys?** No much to dislike. If i had to say anything, is we had a few auto sync problems, but the support is so good they had it sorted in no time. **What problems is Acterys solving and how is that benefiting you?** It makes my financial reporting and budgeting so easy. I can customise my reports to use Purchase orders and sales reports from a 3rd party program and integrate all in the one spot. ### 2. A data warehouse with Power BI visualisations would be the solution but such an IT project would cost $$$. Came across Acterys whose ready-to-go data warehouse integrated with Xero plus pre-built reporting templates is an awesome solution. Up & running in minutes and forms a great base to build on which we are now doing. ### 3. Just like Power BI, Acterys has a learning curve... but easily translatable with a core understanding of BI. **Recommendations to others considering Acterys:** Of all the planning tools built within Power BI - look no further! **What problems is Acterys solving and how is that benefiting you?** Planning, forecasting, and budgeting capabilities that are not the strong suit of Power BI. The Acterys teams is super reactive to feature request, or question we may have We were so impressed by the product and the leadership team at Acterys that we decided to resell and implement the solution. **What do you dislike about Acterys?** There's nothing that I dislike so far in Acterys. **What problems is Acterys solving and how is that benefiting you?** Offering a cloud based CPM solution. Conceptually having a split across the modelling environment and front end makes it easy to understand and explain to business and IT stakeholders. Anyone who has used or is familiar with mutlidimensional modelling will take to the modeller quickly and the native integration with PowerBI improves user adoption across delivery cycle. Having writeback and analytics capability nested in the same window goes a long way to differentiate Acterys against other CPM tools that I'm familiar with. **What do you dislike about Acterys?** Building a tool that leverages an enterprise grade framework like Microsofts Azure Service and PowerBI stack comes with a level of limitations native to the underlying technology. There are some inherited limitations in Acterys owing to Microsoft idiosyncracies around how users are configured and how custom visualisation are handled in PowerBI. Once Microsoft handles these issues, it will positively impact Acterys. **What problems is Acterys solving and how is that benefiting you?** Clients that require the ability to adjust budgets, forecasts and instanly view the outputs of these scenarios alongside actuals is a key consideration for our clients. The ability of the tool to handle this securely within Microsofts native and well understood wrappers make the implementation and maintanence of the tool a breeze. ### 12. I've spent several years messing around with Xero reporting in one form or another (native, third party, and the various Excel integration apps) - all had good points, but also ultimately proved inadequate - lack of flexibility and serious performance issues...3-4 hours to pull data in to Excel with multiple error messages to clear was the final straw before I found Acterys... I had looked at it previously, but data warehouses sound like it was for enterprises not small companies like us (10 staff)...but it most definitely is for us - a little more expensive than some of the other options, but as well as complete Excel integration it offers simple Power BI integration as well...and the performance is really good... I'm still converting all my Excel reports, and not really started on PowerBI yet, but absolutely no hiccups so far and really pleased...finally feel like I've found a platform that can give me the Xero reporting I need!! Oh and the support from Martin/Michael has also been responsive and top notch. **What problems is Acterys solving and how is that benefiting you?** Acterys is helping to deliver accurate, detailed, current management reporting which is helping with business decisions, priorities, cashflow, performance analysis etc ### 14. Built entirely on Microsoft standards, leveraging incumbent MS technologies - power bi, microsoft office, azure, power apps, flow and teams. He is extremely responsive and don't be surprised if he delivers your first training session - that's the kind of customer touch that will make Acterys lead in the FP&A space **What problems is Acterys solving and how is that benefiting you?** Having a single source of truth to analyze historical trends of our clients, and provide better budget forecasting, planning and investment structuring. Great Corporate Performance Management Tool! **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Lisa T. | Chief Operations Officer / Chief Financial Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** June 28, 2019 **What do you like best about Acterys?** I was most attracted to Acterys as our solution for budgeting, planning, and cash flow reporting, for two primary reasons: 1) the cost is very reasonable, and 2) their system was specifically designed to work with Excel and Power BI (both programs we already had part of our Microsoft Office Suite). **What do you dislike about Acterys?** Main challenge for me in getting started with Acterys was not already knowing how to use Power BI. I liken it to getting an Excel template, but not knowing how to use Excel. As I have been doing personal training on Power BI, I am growing to appreciate the design of the Acterys system increasingsly more. **Recommendations to others considering Acterys:** Managility staff are great to work with! Only thing I could have done better on the front end was to draw out more clearly my expectations for the ending deliverables. Because I did not, we started out with a different understanding of the end goal. That being said, when I realized we were going a bit off target, they worked graciously with me to make sure my needs were met. To save them any wasted time, and to minimize any delays with your implementation, my best advice is to clearly draw out what you want to accomplish - i.e. what do you want your reports to look like, etc. **What problems is Acterys solving and how is that benefiting you?** Acterys helps us eliminate problems experienced using Excel spreadsheets for budgeting (too much room for human error with broken links or errors in formulas). Main benefit so far has been that I can get a cash flow projection report quickly based on actuals-to-date, and then looking forward with either my original budget or updated projection numbers. ### 17.
