The best part is how operator-friendly the platform is. The UI is intuitive, portfolio monitoring and KPI collection are structured and easy to manage, and reporting/export workflows reduce a lot of spreadsheet work. We also like the newer AI features for faster data import, and the Excel add-in and connectivity are strong, which makes keeping data up to date much easier. We dislike that we can’t yet use the AI to directly extract and populate open questions from uploaded documents into the relevant fields. That would remove a lot of manual copy-pasting and make document-to-workflow handover much faster. The portfolio company dashboards are very intuitive, and it’s easy to find the information I need. The platform has also really simplified our reporting process; it’s straightforward to customise what we want from companies and I particularly like the reminders feature, since it means I don’t have to manage those follow-ups manually.

Most importantly, the customer service is truly outstanding. Our customer success manager at Vestberry is consistently responsive and friendly, and they get back to me within a few hours every time. The website can be slow to load at times, and some updates still have to be done manually, one company at a time, instead of being applied all at once—for example, downloading logos or editing reminders. The investment ledger, combined with AI-powered data extraction, has been a major improvement for us. Updating the ledger is straightforward and far less manual than with previous tools, and the automated extraction gives us a high degree of comfort that the data is accurate and complete. As a result, Vestberry genuinely functions as a single source of truth for our portfolio, which is critical for internal reporting, decision-making, and stakeholder communication.

KPI collection from founders is also particularly well designed. The process is very light touch for portfolio companies, which improves response rates and data quality, while still giving us full control over which KPIs we want to track and how they are defined.

Finally, the Excel add-in is extremely useful for ad-hoc analysis and model building. Being able to pull live, structured data directly into Excel makes it much easier to run quick analyses, build scenarios, or stress-test assumptions without duplicating work or worrying about version control. VESTBERRY is very easy to implement and quick to set up, with minimal training required. New users can typically get started within a day, just by exploring the features (they also provide a complete onboarding). I use it almost daily for investment overviews, fund management, forecasting, KPI tracking, and file/document uploads.

The platform allows for strong personalization of data—you can break it down in the way that best suits your needs and build dashboards that provide a clear overview of both portfolio company performance and overall fund health. The KPI reporting tool is especially valuable, making requests from founders efficient and streamlined.

There can occasionally be performance issues when working with quarterly update templates via Excel. Also, inviting portfolio companies as users is a bit cumbersome - you can only add one at a time, and each has to be accepted before inviting the next. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Honestly, Vebsterry is just so good. The interface is super intuitive, everything is clearly built with how a VC firm actually works in mind. You can tell it’s made by people who really get the job. It’s hands-down the best tool we’ve used for portfolio monitoring. We initially had all our portfolio companies collected in an Excel file, but with the help of Vestberry, we can now gather and manage them in a much more efficient way. Overall, we really like Vestberry, but at times I feel that it offers a few too many features.
