**What do you like best about Trainual?**

I use Trainual for creating a SOP and training Wiki, and it has simplified the process and really streamlined our library. I love the ease of use and the clean and nice presentation that it offers. I also enjoy how easy it is to customize and display instructions. The initial setup was very easy, and we converted quite simply.

**What do you dislike about Trainual?**

I wish adding video was simpler. Make it easier to link from different outside sources, perhaps allow small video hosting in app with unique permissions.

Trainual simplified the process and streamlined our library. I love the ease of use and the clean, nice presentation.

**What do you like best about Trainual?**

I searched for a very long time for a 'playbook' platform to use for our company as our last one let us down hard by losing our data when renewing our contract. From the beginning, Trainual looked easy to use as well as professional, but simple and had a 'fun' aspect which was important in getting employees to WANT to use the platform, not only need to use it. The onboarding process was incredible and the Implementation Specialist who guided me through the first couple weeks of using the platform was really wonderful and patient with me while I learned the features and benefits to using Trainual. Our company has a friendly competition between departments to see who can get through the content as and when it comes out within a specific time frame and it's now normal for everyone to search on Trainual prior to asking a colleague for assistance - love it! It was easy for employees to access Trainual and it's intuitive interface as well as multiple features makes it a perfect pick for us. The Trainual community forum is also really helpful and informative and a cool added feature that I wasn't sure I'd make use of, but I do and I see the value in it. The Trainual Team is also always innovating and being creative with their features as well as asking for user imput which is so valuable and makes us feel seen and heard with our concerns/ideas. We have now been using Trainual for almost 2 years and I am so so glad that I found it - I will not be looking for a new platform any time soon!

**What do you dislike about Trainual?**

Nothing - everything about the platform is truly wonderful!

**What problems is Trainual solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trainual provides an all-in-one platform for us to use across departments for policies (and policy acknowledgements/e-signatures) as well as ongoing training and onboarding. Trainual is hugely beneficial as there is now a standard training that the every single person receives to ensure that all new starters have the same opportunity as each other. We are constantly updating and improving our processes and with Trainual, we're able to effectively send them out to the whole company so that everyone is aware and able to access the content easily.

**What do you like best about Trainual?**

It is very easy to use and has great AI features!  All of the add in's are great- you can start with the basics and give it a tone, or captivating pictures with great ease.  The AI is really amazing and you work with it right there while you are creating content.  I also really enjoy the mobile app- completing trainings is extremely easy to use while on the go.

**What do you dislike about Trainual?**

Not many.  I am sure I have not explored all the options available to me.  There were a few things that came up but Trainuel seems to iterate and update based on customer feedback often.

**What problems is Trainual solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking completions of education required.  I don't have to spend time hunting this information down, which is very beneficial. 
In general it is a great house for all our training material and getting the same information out to multiple people with the ability to update it and organize it in one platform.

**What do you like best about Trainual?**

I use Trainual extensively to ensure that all of our staff and coaches are well-versed in our SOPs and know where to find critical information such as financial details, onboarding orientation, and offboarding processes. This clarity in training and information access has been invaluable to our team. I particularly appreciate how Trainual has streamlined the administration by allowing me to direct inquiries to the platform, saving me significant time. The ability to house our forms there and quickly share them is incredibly efficient. I find the integration with Google Suite, allowing us to add PDFs, Google Docs, and links to Google Drive, extremely useful as it leverages our existing resources. I also love the people section of Trainual; it visually links responsibilities to training SOPs, which is crucial for our multiple locations and remote team members, ensuring everyone knows who is responsible for what. Lastly, I am pleased with Trainual's ease of use, setup process, and the financial consideration it offers to nonprofits through a deep discount.

**What do you dislike about Trainual?**

Setting up Trainual was definitely tedious due to the large number of new SOPs I had to create, and there was a learning curve initially. Formatting wasn't always super simple, making it challenging to set up initially. There were also issues with adding PDFs, as updates to documents required manual changes in all areas, which was cumbersome. The process of linking to Google Drive and other files required figuring out workarounds. Additionally, the formatting options could be more intuitive, especially when changing fonts or colors of links. Navigation could be improved; specifically, getting back to the home screen or dashboard after a search is cumbersome since it requires multiple clicks.

**What problems is Trainual solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trainual frees up my time by housing SOPs and forms, allowing me to direct staff there for questions instead of answering personally. It helps share information efficiently and connects remote teams across multiple locations.

As the Education and Development Specialist for a multi-location hospitality company, I’ve had the pleasure of using Trainual as our go-to platform for onboarding, SOP management, and leadership development. What sets Trainual apart is how intuitive and user-friendly the platform is. It’s incredibly easy to create, update, and assign content across departments—which is essential when you're managing multiple teams in different states.

One of my favorite features is Trainual U. It’s an outstanding learning hub packed with tutorials and feature deep-dives that help you maximize the platform’s full potential. Whether it’s learning about new integrations or brushing up on features I haven’t used in a while, Trainual U keeps me sharp and ensures our team is getting the most out of the system.

The customer support experience is also top-notch. Any time I’ve reached out, I’ve received a same-day response with clear, realistic timelines and a genuine sense of urgency. Even when dealing with bugs or feature delays, the support team is transparent, helpful, and committed to resolving issues quickly.

From a training perspective, the SOP engagement tools and completion tracking have been a game-changer. The mobile app. While it's nice to have it for on-the-go, it isn't as reliable as the desktop app.

Having a hub for all of our SOPs and being able to update them at any time when a process or procedure changes. We have the ability to update the SOP the reflect the exact standard of the job role.

We have been having issues with content display and completion rates not reflecting correctly. They were on top of it and always got us right within a week.

I love the UI for creating documentation - very intuitive. I love that you can see the progress of each individual (if you are admin). It is very easy to implement and integrate into our onboarding process! Since my company has been using Trainual I can see they work actively to improve existing features and add new ones that are truly helpful. I am glad they added history of changes.

**What do you dislike about Trainual?**

The only downside is that we need another application on top of the regular stack that we have like Gusto.
A lot of the features I wanted have been implemented since I started using Trainual! The other downside is just getting your team members to stay up to date but that is more of an issue on our side haha.

**What problems is Trainual solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The onboarding process and documentation for that and ongoing policies. Separate documentation and training depending what team you are a part of. The core of our company policies are in our Trainual content so this helps a lot as well as some basic training.

Trainual is very user-friendly and offers a platform that allows multiple authors to submit content and be responsible for the updates. The customer support is the best in the industry. At a time when most companies hide behind chat, Trainual is happy to be up close and personal with prompt email responses and availability right at your fingertips with a quick calendar meeting request.

**What do you dislike about Trainual?**

I inherited the platform from the prior L&D manager. It would have been helpful to have an opportunity to participate in an onboarding/introduction to the platform, a tips and tricks session. I found that it was more difficult than expected to organize the content in a way that is searchable and digestible. Yes, there is content online, but walking through an example of an actual account would be awesome.

**What problems is Trainual solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trainual allows us to house all of our documentation in one spot. It is easy to assign content for new hires, making onboarding a breeze. The notifications for updates allow us to stay on top of our game, ensuring documentation is updated regularly. Just recently, we decided to test the compliance component and are hoping that will save us a ton of time as we operate in multiple states.

**What do you like best about Trainual?**

I joined Banks Industrial Group in May 2025, and one of my first goals was to create a comprehensive sales playbook. Trainual has made this process organized and straightforward to manage right from the start.

So far, we have developed four main modules: Proposition: Products & Markets, Find It: Sales Process, Win It: Sales Process, and Deliver It: Best Practices & Handoffs. Collectively, these modules contain over 70 hours of structured, field-ready content.

What I appreciate most is how simple it is to design, edit, and rearrange pages. As the person responsible for building the playbook, I can work quickly and make improvements without struggling with the platform. As a user, I also value how everything is brought together: links, embedded videos, and supporting tools, all in one clean, accessible location. Our sales team has already begun using the first published chapter and finds it helpful to have all the information and resources consolidated in one place.

**What do you dislike about Trainual?**

As an administrator, I would appreciate improved visibility for comments. It would be much more convenient to see when feedback is left and to be able to access those comments directly, rather than having to search through each document individually. With more than 70 hours of content, it’s all too easy for comments or notes to go unnoticed.

**What problems is Trainual solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before we began creating our sales playbook in Trainual, much of our knowledge was scattered across various places—Word documents, shared drives, personal notes, and lengthy email threads. There wasn’t a single, reliable source where a new team member or leader could go to truly understand our sales process and how we deliver our work.

Trainual changed that by providing much-needed structure. It allowed us to transform all that fragmented information into a clear, step-by-step system that anyone can easily follow. I’m able to build, organize, and update content efficiently, ensuring the team always has access to the most current version.

Personally, the greatest advantage has been the clarity and alignment it brings. The playbook brings together sales, operations, and field practices in one centralized location. This has made onboarding smoother, training more consistent, and communication between teams much more streamlined.

The interface is clean and intuitive, allowing even non-technical team members to easily navigate and find what they need. Setting up new training modules is quick, and the customization options make it easy to tailor the experience to our company’s specific needs.

What really stands out, though, is the quality of Trainual’s tech support and customer service. Their team is responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. Whenever we’ve had questions or needed assistance, they’ve provided quick and thorough solutions, often going above and beyond to ensure everything works smoothly. One thing I wish Trainual offered is a more detailed report on the actual time employees spend completing each training module. While the platform tracks completion and progress effectively, it doesn’t provide insights into how much time users actually spend going through the material. Having access to that data would be extremely valuable for managers and administrators—it would help us understand engagement levels, identify which sections might be too long or too short, and measure overall training efficiency more accurately. Adding this feature would make Trainual’s reporting capabilities even stronger and provide a more complete picture of employee learning activity

**What problems is Trainual solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of the main challenges that Trainual addresses is the significant time and effort involved in creating well-organized training materials from the ground up. It’s easy to access on both the desktop and mobile versions, and my staff were able to learn the system quickly and create our procedures with ease.

The monthly cost is a concern. There should also be broader user settings so that some team members can create the manual without automatically having the right to edit other Procedures. Right now, a user can either edit everything or only view, with no in-between option. Also, we currently have to name our procedures and manual by Department just to keep them separated; otherwise, we have to sift through everything to find our own procedures.

The platform is highly conifgurable - and yet retains simplicity. It never becomes burdensome to configure. Especially in a smaller company like ours where training uploads and config are routed through one person - iit's hugely valuable having a system that is quick and easy to configure.

The report module is a little sparse. Often we require slightly more detailed reporting metrics for auditors than the reports that are available - and this means we need to employ some workarounds in order to get the required info. The lack of read-only API's is also something that could be considered for future development. Power users - especially QA -  want read-only API's to be able to extract training metrics in realtime.

Lack of capability to set default formatting options (most frustrating). Specific examples: I always have to move tables from the center to the left and add borders. I always have to change the font type - especially when copying and pasting from another document. 
Not being able to send an unpublished document to team member(s) for input. There should be an intermediate step along the lines of "Share for Input" or "Team Review"

I like the fact that you can add SOPs to each group and role if you like. Then you can assign the trainings to the individuals assigned. If you delegate the role to a new individual, the training is reset and assigned to the new person. I LOVE IT!

I was a bit confused in Trainual University because I was going through courses submitted through the implementation process but didn't know that they were separate from Trainual University. The links sent through the Implementation emails had me learning a bit out of order.

**What problems is Trainual solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We didn't have a place to store all our SOPs and now we do. We didn't have a breakdown of responsibilities for each role and now we not only have the listed responsibilities, we also have the training that coincides with that responsibility. 
The Delegation Planner is so helpful for when we have staff resign or transition to a different role. Now we can easily transfer responsibilities to the newly assigned team member.

I find the ease of creating modules in Trainual quite straightforward, which stands out as one of its best features. This capability makes it convenient to develop training modules, representing an aspect of the system that I appreciate. Despite being user-friendly, it does require some time to fully get accustomed to, yet its straightforward nature is a positive attribute.

**What do you dislike about Trainual?**

I find setting up Trainual to be challenging due to a lack of guidance on how to fill out necessary forms and effectively map responsibilities and groups. We've had to devise our own system to compensate for this gap. Additionally, while Trainual is supposed to help with SOPs and passing down institutional knowledge, it hasn't delivered tangible benefits yet, aside from indicating to employees that we are attempting to implement training processes. The process of integrating content into Trainual has been cumbersome, requiring numerous webinars and substantial preparatory work, which has been quite time-consuming. The email notifications that group owners and managers receive are excessive and appear irrelevant, yet there seems to be no straightforward way to disable them, which has been irritating. Furthermore, the configuration involving overlapping groups and setting up cross-team interactions has proven to be difficult, adding to our frustration.

**What problems is Trainual solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trainual is intended to pass down institutional knowledge and create SOPs but currently, it's only useful for easy module creation and doesn't meet broader goals fully.

I also like how Trainual notionally conceptualized SOP design for culture, which helps preserve company culture and convey it clearly to new employees. I find the incorporation of Loom and YouTube videos within training sessions extremely helpful, as well as the AI components that assist in drafting training plans. It's hard to know when content is changed or updated by other colleagues. I understand the bell notification and occasional email update that new information is there, but doesn't always seem attention getting enough.

It's helping train new colleagues. It also provides a central location for some of our commonly asked questions or frequent scenarios. It helps to put them in writing in a central location that houses more than just let's say Google Drive.

Ease of the Trainual platform.  We have programmed the Horizon Field Guide which provides electronic training to all Team Members.  We recently upgraded our subscription and added the premium courses

**What do you dislike about Trainual?**

The ability to add an expiration date to a premium course (ie: heat exposure we assigned for the months of July and August, but unable to set 8/31 as the expiration date).  This results in manually adding specific training courses as use of the groups will not allow this training to end.  The second challenge is the ability to delete the training that is auto assigned to me as the administrator assigning the training.

**What problems is Trainual solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The auto assigned premium courses need to be manually removed from my profile by Trainual Support.  If I had this ability - I wouldn't need to request this each month.   Adding the expiration date to premium courses is unresolved at this time by allocating team members by location or departmental group.

Additionally, I enjoy the ability to separate training categories and assign them to specific employee groups, ensuring that each receives relevant, tailored information rather than unnecessary content. This efficient training delivery is beneficial as it assures me that all staff receive uniform, professional-quality training in a self-directed manner. The integration features are excellent, especially with Gusto, which automatically grants Trainual access upon payroll setup, creating a seamless, interconnected workflow. I value the support and generosity of the onboarding team throughout the years, which has aided in setting up new staff efficiently. The fact that Trainual removes the need for personal oversight during initial training periods, thus freeing up significant time in my schedule, is highly appreciated.

This shortcoming forces me to use third-party software like loom.com, which has become expensive, costing $1,200 per year for just five seats.","I encounter an inconvenience with Trainual's absence of a search capability akin to a knowledge base. The inability to perform Boolean or keyword searches complicates finding specific information, especially when categories are misorganized or incomplete.","The process of creating visually appealing and professional quality training content is cumbersome as it requires using external software like Canva. Despite Canva being known as user-friendly, I find it too advanced and costly at $30 per month per user.","The need for a feature that allows easy creation and publication of training slides with animations and voiceovers without external tools is apparent.
