I've been using Digital Ocean for about 7-8 years. I've recommended it many times. In terms of freedom, it's so far superior to my previous web hosting options (BlueHost, HostGator etc.). It's also brilliant in terms of monitoring (checking uptime for my droplets) and the UI/UX is generally very easy to use and navigate. Pricing is pretty straightforward and easy to understand. I've been an Akamai CC user since it was still Linode, at the time I used it to deploy Rails applications using capistrano to VPSs, I was a beginner back then and I got a lot of support from Linode representatives whom helped me set up different services, including an email server. I've always been very satisfied with the service, and I've always keept a few VPSs for my personal use or for client work. Since a couple of years I started using Nix for managing my dev environments, after shopping for server providers with support for NixOS, I was very happy to discover a guide for installing NixOS on ACC, the guide was very well written and I was able to follow without a hitch, consequently I have no reason to switch providers. Vercel provide great user experience with our ci/cd infrastructure for projects. We have been able to move faster with the vercel integration. I also like the option to easily migrate data from existing on-premises database to the new hosted DB instances.

You have access to logs and statistics like CPU and memory utilization so you can monitor your database performance.
