Review Summary

Generated using AI from real user reviews
Users consistently praise Xcode for its seamless integration with the Apple ecosystem, which simplifies the development process for iOS and macOS applications. The all-in-one environment, featuring tools like the simulator and debugging capabilities, enhances productivity and streamlines workflows. However, many note that it can be resource-intensive, leading to slow performance on larger projects.

"Great IDE for C++ and C"
What do you like best about Xcode?

XCode is a great IDE for starting to code in C or C++. The layout and color coding of text is easy to understand. I usually set the theme to dark because it seems to be easier on my eyes even though I don't wear glasses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Xcode?

Only thing I have to dislike of XCode is that it doesn't seem to support all the languages we are familiar with like Python or Java. I have seen support for C, c++, swift, and javascript, and objective c. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great IDE (development environment)"
What do you like best about Xcode?

Fully integrated solution for mobile developer with almost all you need in one box. Plenty of tools, whisperer, analyzing the code as you type. Integrated with source code management, manages all the configuration, resources, certificates in one place.

I like how screen design is integrated with source code

Integration of Machine Learning models with source code Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Xcode?

Documentation is rather oversimplified, not enough explanations, samples. Without books and google, there is almost no way.

Sometimes crashing - especially GUI screen editor, source code analyzer

Sometimes overloading CPU

A lot of features without any description.

Learning curve is pretty steep Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Xcode review"
What do you like best about Xcode?

Easy to use and all in one place. Integrated code, UI and version control. Everything works great together. It's a very mature product that works as it should. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Xcode?

Some parts can feel a bit locked in. Would like more plug in features. Working with storyboards and version control using git can be a hassle. It's presented as a UI feature but works with XML in the back. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Xcode a good platform for objective-C & swift codes "
What do you like best about Xcode?

I think the fact you're able to build and run an app on an iphone with a couple of clicks is nothing short of a miracle, even if it is industry standard. Moreover the best part is that it supports both objective-C & swift codes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Xcode?

In the beginning i find it a little difficult to learn how to use xcode but with time and lynda courses it just got easier. Also i think xcode does not support all the languages like python. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Xcode is perfect to create C++ programs using a macbook or an apple device. "
What do you like best about Xcode?

Whenever you create a C++ program, Xcode will tell you that it won't compile and that will try to fix it for you before continuing to create the rest of the program. Whenever you create a file, it will let you choose where in your laptop you want to store the file in. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Xcode?

When the program compiles, it takes a a while for it to compile and sometimes it never compiles. Sometimes you would have to use the terminal in your macbook to see if it compiles. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
