**What do you like best about When I Work?**

I like the sorting features this product provides. Searching for new hires can be a daunting process; however, WIW allows you to filter candidates in multiple ways. I also like the clock-in and clock-out features.

**What do you dislike about When I Work?**

There is nothing I dislike about the app.

**What problems is When I Work solving and how is that benefiting you?**

WIW is helping me solve the ability to access all employees and new hires in one convenient place. WIW also allows staff to keep track of their hours worked, absences and paid time off requests. Staff also can view their schedules in WIW.

**What do you like best about When I Work?**

Easy layout that makes accessing your schedule, as well as the schedule of others very easy.

**What do you dislike about When I Work?**

The price of using this app is a bit steep for some things such as a not for profit organization.

**What problems is When I Work solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This app allowed all employees and volunteers to have access to the master schedule. It centralized a place for us to not only see the schedule, but request time off and see open shifts.

**What do you like best about When I Work?**

I love how easy it is to clock in or clock my breaks. It allows me to control my schedule and request time off quickly and efficiently. I love how I can look back on all my pay period hours worked. I like how I can see who will be working with me on what days and their schedules. It also allows me to accept my hours with one click of a button. If there are any issues, my boss can fix it immediately!

**What do you dislike about When I Work?**

Everything works as it should, and throughout my usage of the program, I have had no problems.

**What problems is When I Work solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use this to make sure time off is approved. It helps when you can request the time off quickly and get a response you can see instantly. It allows us to see who is working and what hours. It also allows me to know I can make needed appointments and take that time off without having to speak in person to my boss.

I love the simple design, how I am in a group chat with the rest of the employees and my boss without using my messages, how I can clock in and out from my phone, and track my schedule.

It's a bit too busy for my personal tastes.

Excellent for large, independent businesses with a fairly fluid work force.

It can be challenging to locate the button to drop a shift, especially if the shift is the same day

Very easy to pick up and drop shifts. It is easy to view your schedule and workers' schedules

**What do you like best about When I Work?**

I love being able to see who and when everyone is working efficiently. It makes it very easy to trade shifts, pick up open shifts, and contact coworkers. The app is very user-friendly as well.

**What do you dislike about When I Work?**

The app is a bit hard to clock in. Even when I am in the building, it still says that I am not close enough (within 100 feet) to clock in. However, I can still go to the timesheets and clock in from there.

**What problems is When I Work solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can quickly get my schedule from When I Work, and my manager can easily see my availability. The app makes scheduling a breeze, and I feel confident in when I will be scheduled to work.

**What do you like best about When I Work?**

We investigated several different options including When I Work, and what we really liked about them, versus their competitors, is how easy the software is to use. No one really likes using time scheduling software, but When I Work makes it really simple and painless.

**What do you dislike about When I Work?**

Honestly, none that we can think of. Pricing is competitive, we haven't had to use support, and overall, it solves an organisational pain point with very little hassle.

Scheduling and time-management problems were why we investigated When I Work. The software works well and does what it says on the box - it makes time management, scheduling and reporting super simple.

**What do you like best about When I Work?**

I love how I can add the different job locations and that the location shows up under the employee's names on the Scheduler/calendar. I also love how this is also an app, and that I can easily post Open Shifts

**What do you dislike about When I Work?**

I manage a photographer/videographer team, and I don't like the fact that I always have to include a start or tend time. Often times we book dates that are just the date, so right now I have to do "12AM to 12AM" to show that the start and end time is not confirmed yet.   I do not like that the term is "employee", I would rather be able to change a setting to use "independent contractor" so that my team does not see that "employee" language. I also do not like the fact that there's no really good advanced integration with Zapier!!!

**What problems is When I Work solving and how is that benefiting you?**

AFter looking at a bunch of different apps and calendars, I went with WIW because it allowed me to create multiple locations and the locations show up right away on the Scheduler. The other ones did not show the job location on the calendar. This is important because we work at many different venues. I also love how it pulls up the Google map!

Having to remember to publish the shifts

Jump in and give it a try.  It was way more than I expected.  I will not run another staff of student employees without using this product

I have literally saved hundreds of hours and gazillions of emails as my employees are 18-22 yo and they are often needing to be more agile in their hours.

It can be a little confusing to navigate at first, but it's fairly simple once you get the hang of it.

That it calculates total hours worked and amount.

**What do you dislike about When I Work?**

Many things! there's a limit to the shift notes. there's no easy feature in the shift notes to upload documents directly there, without having to go through a process of upload in documents, then copy and paste. You have a function to send out a text as a group or specific ppl but you have a limit of credits before you start charging. Kind of defeats the purpose of eliminating another form of contact with my team. I want to be able to use this app alone to avoid to many forms of communication. I understand they can receive messages via email but sometimes text messages are faster. The layout is not friendly for viewing when you schedule specifically for my line of business. We have multiple events in the same day and two separate shifts per person. Lastly having to pay in sums of 5 employees. I started off with 10 and to add 1 person I had to pay for 5.

Ideal for most business not for events.

Nothing real just something to create scheduling but For the lack of features I'm seeing might be best to use Google calendar to communicate with my team.

The phone app from an admins standpoint is not as easy as on a desktop

I don't have to send someone to check to see if everyone is where they say they are . I see very quickly and easily what three weeks of job scheduling looks like.

Did not change in the 4 years I used. it.. I was never asked how to make improvements or offered any.

I like how easy it is for employees but put in their days off. Then the presaved shifts make scheduling 10x faster!

There is nothing i dont really like. The notifcations do  take awhile to send out especially in the work chat.

I love the ability to visualize my staff's availability, a central place for time off requests, and a way to create reoccurring schedule templates.

**What do you dislike about When I Work?**

I have yet to come across anything that I dislike about this program.

**What problems is When I Work solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I now have a digital, drag-and-drop way to create a schedule for my office.  As a visual person, color coding employee positions is super beneficial.  The alerts and messaging I can send out to individuals or  the team as a whole have been super helpful in keeping everyone informed of schedule changes.

The ability to pull time seamlessly, allowing multiple sites to be scheduled with no issues.

The only issues I had, customer service was able to get my account correct and up to date.

The when I work app is easy to use and I was able to get started very quickly. Navigating through and the extra help I receive has made this application very user-friendly.

**What do you dislike about When I Work?**

I wish that reoccurring shifts did not have a 1-year end date. Or another function that would be great as if they automatically defaulted to 365 days later without me having to scroll to the one year mark through the calendar.

**Recommendations to others considering When I Work:**

My recommendation would be to seek to somebody at when I work . They will be able to walk you through all of the functionalities and help you to tailor this application to exactly what you need. You will quickly see how useful it is and how it can change the way you do your scheduling.

**What problems is When I Work solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My employees have better access to openshifts, swapping shifts, and leaving me times of unavailability. Previously before there were slips that were filled out that on some occasions were lost or misplaced and the employee would be frustrated that the request was not met. When I work app has solved this!

  ### 21. Very helpful to get rid of schedule woes but not perfect...

**What do you like best about When I Work?**

The ability to drag and drop shifts from one person to another making life easier! You can copy the previous week schedule to the next week which helps.
Additionally, staff gets notifications to install the app on their phone and through that app they can manage their days off request or days they are unavailable. When schedules are made the staff are made aware instantly when you publish your completed schedule.

**What do you dislike about When I Work?**

First one of the biggest issues is where to get additional help on topics or features that you are looking for. I had an orientation briefly but that was before using the software. I had questions on features but there's no way of getting live help other than submitting a ticket.
The android app has a few missing features that would greatly help while on the move to make last minute changes to schedules. Additionally, the biggest pet peeve is that I can't click on a name of a staff member and see what they have been scheduled for the week which would be a huge benefit.
There's other features that would help where if you copy the previous week schedule and you wanted to clear it the app would also clear the open shifts as well making you start all over.

The core features save a huge amount of time that was spent using excel or google sheets. It can't do everything you want but maybe 80% of what you need so even that will help with cost savings.

I like know that when I assign a work assignment that the employees have to be at the job site to clock in.  The geofencing is going to save the company money for sure.  Employees are able to see all hours worked and the team they are working with in any given day.

I wish I could see all of the schedules at one time.  Like an at a glance, we have several differnt job sites, so I really like to see everything on one screen.    Other than than When I work is fairly simple to use.

When I work is an amazing tool for scheduling and labor forcasting, it also assists in employess being responsible for their work days.  Obtaing coverage when they are unable to make a shift.  It takes the burdon off of the employer.

Just knowing that we are getting a handle on actual hours worked.  Our previous system allowed employees to write in the time that they thought they worked which was not beneficial to the employee or the company dollar wise. I like that you can schedule for multiple job sites. There is also an in-app chat that streamlines communication with employees. My favorite feature is the shift templates, as it allows me to easily add in jobs I've done in the past.

One thing I would love to see is the addition of scheduling resources. For example. when I was using When I Work for a company with a fleet, it was a little difficult to allocate drivers to available trucks.

When I Work has allowed the managers to be on the same page. While we had problems in the past with employees getting doubled booked or told to go to a job site that ended up being cancelled, using this application has greatly improved it. Now our employees can give us confirmation that they know where they are supposed to go the next day. Supervisors can reference the schedule before wasting time making calls to other managers trying to figure out what's going on.

I like the ease of viewing a day, week or month's schedule. I like how easy it is for staff to request a day off. No more paper copies. I like that you can use the program on the desk top or on your smart phone.

A couple things. 
1) We have two different groups of staff that work in our department and I have created two separate schedules. Group 1 cannot see the group 2 schedule, and vice versa. It would be nice if they could have a viewing option. 

2)Also our staff works the same schedule for the whole year. I had to copy week by week. It would be nice to be able to copy the whole month.

**Recommendations to others considering When I Work:**

The initial set up is the most time consuming. Once that part is complete, the program is very easy to use. If you have any questions, it is easy to reach out the the support group.

Less paper work. My manager used to copy the days off requests and then hand them back to the employees. This eliminates that hassle. Also nice to show the specific hours everyone is working and that we can include nights and weekends on the schedule.

It has made the lives of all our managers so much easier now that staff are responsible for updating their own availability calendars in When I Work. This makes it so much easier to build and publish schedules that only need minimal tweaking after. Saving us lots of time.

The only issue I have with When I work so far is that if I want to change the same item on multiple individuals' shifts at one location (which is one schedule in the tool). It is not intuitive to me how I would do this. So for now I have to change each individual's shift separately.

If staff are constantly giving you updates on their availability to work verbally, over text, email, etc., rather than in the same system that you use to build and publish there schedules then making the move to When I Work will save you lots of time. It also does time attendance and integrates with payroll which is a must for efficiency.

Problems solved: staff not giving their availability updates verbally, via text and email, but rather within the scheduling tool itself. It has saved management a ton of time when building the schedules and also in not having to change the schedules nearly as much after they are published to the full team.

You can put in very specific, complicated, repeated availability and requests off in a way that's minimally invasive to your workplace. It displays shifts and hours worked, giving me super fast access to important data that I need. It's incredibly intuitive to use and uses language that respects employees as individuals while also conveying our duty to our business. The app is effective and polite.

**What do you dislike about When I Work?**

The app has quite an extensive layout where you can put in information about yourself, including contact information or photographs. You can keep it hidden, but it seems like a slightly strange choice or something easy to miss. Because of this, several of my coworkers appear blank and sometimes it can be difficult to tell the day's schedule apart because of this. This is only an issue when looking at the team schedule, not at my own. I've also noticed that, when I change my availability, the app will prioritize older preferences over newer ones, meaning I have to delete my old availability before I can add a new one rather than just change it outright.

**Recommendations to others considering When I Work:**

When I Work is incredibly useful for branches of large companies or relatively small businesses to compile scheduling materials in one place. If you have an inefficient system now (or none at all), it would definitely be worthwhile to switch to this platform.

**What problems is When I Work solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using When I Work, my employer was emailing out a table with the week's schedule. All requests or changes in availability had to run directly through management, which created the potential to lose information. Using this external resource gives everyone a much simpler and more intuitive interface for scheduling. It has also created a useful common space for all scheduling concerns, limiting the potential for miscommunications and somewhat formalizing the scheduling process.

Making changes to the schedule could be easier, but it’s one of the best I’ve found so far. When making lots of changes to a weekly schedule, it’s a pain to have to click to open each individual’s shift to edit or delete it.

I like that I was able to set a free version initially. During Covid-19 I had to get creative with scheduling and time management for employees . I also had to pick a platform that was budget friendly. I have only used it for scheduling and not the payroll tracker, as we have an internal system that does that. The scheduling was nice. I add their email, they get a link and it is done. It even sends notification of when they are supposed to be there. It also allows them to Clock In, with a couple of variances you can set for accountability.

Honestly, I have not had a negative experience yet. Maybe the amount of emails that they send....

**What do you like best about When I Work?**

Almost everything. When I first switched to When I Work, I couldn't believe that such a modern and streamlined way of organizing shifts in a company exists.

**What do you dislike about When I Work?**

I can't name anything, after living with the old, ask and then fiddle with an excel every week system, everything about When I Work seems dreamlike, even after months of use!

**Recommendations to others considering When I Work:**

It makes everything about organizing your company so much easier, so please, if you are reading this and not using it yet, switch to it you will be extremely thankful for that!

I like that I can see the shifts I will be working and whom I will be working with on the main page.

I dislike that I cannot view my hours worked in one pay check period.

I am using When I Work to view my work schedule. I have realized that you are able to sync the application with your phone calendar to be able to view your schedule there, too.

The ease of use and being able to view my current and previous timesheets in real-time.

**What do you dislike about When I Work?**

It tends to freeze on iPhone and requires a hard close frequently which can sometimes cause my time to be off by a minute. That is difficult with a job where you earn negative attendance points if you are just one minute late.

**Recommendations to others considering When I Work:**

Give it a try it's the best time management software I've ever used for logging in and out for my shift and for lunch breaks.

I love not having to manually keep track of my time. It has made my life so much easier keeping track of my hours and lunches than any other system I have previously used.

The user interface is simple and one thing is oriented, so it is easy to move from the Web site, browser tab or phone app. Adding unpaid free time to the scheduling feature enables us, in general if I job was an excellent tool, to delete unnecessary applications like e-mail.

**What do you dislike about When I Work?**

I couldn't use a working chat because my phone and computer never loaded messages – the software and desktops can be a little sluggish. Aside from that, I like the program pretty much.

**Recommendations to others considering When I Work:**

This incorporates many methods to produce impressive tracking performance. You will find out about every day where the employee is and what he did. The workers can also add time card information.

**What problems is When I Work solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've always received real-time updates, and every time I contact your customer service, I answer my questions with great diligence from the start. For multi-customer projects I track hours available, break down tasks, and get the best sense of my time. It helps me to see where my time will mean that my money can be invested wisely so that such arrangements will be good for my flat rate retention customers.

Would prefer 1 central location to see available shifts (open and dropped) together.
Would like to be able to enter what coverage a site needs and it tell me if there are gaps. For example, I need 4 people 8-5 at a site. But 11-2 I currently only have 3 scheduled. A way for it to tell me there is a gap

The user interface is simple and focuses on one thing, and switching between the web application, the browser tab, and the phone app is straightforward, without any issues. Adding unpaid time off to the scheduling feature allows us to eliminate unnecessary software like organizational emails; overall, When I Work has been an incredible tool that makes my life easier and free from the stress of having to do everything manually and on my own. On the other hand, I can help clients when I'm not working, I don't have to be tied to the office all day.

**What do you dislike about When I Work?**

The way reports are made could be improved, allowing them to be more in-depth instead of simple.

**Recommendations to others considering When I Work:**

With employees reviewed every hour, it helps me reliably test the time spent on their tasks. It is a program that combines multiple tools to provide surprising results in terms of tracking. For any day, you can find out where your employee is and what they were specifically doing. The employee can also add notes to their time card.

**What problems is When I Work solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When I Work has been a diligent program from the beginning, continuously providing real-time reports and giving excellent responses to my questions every time I contact their customer service. I track available hours for multiple client projects, breaking down tasks to get the best idea of where my time is going. For my flat-rate retainer clients, this allows me to see where my time is going to ensure that my time is spent best and that those agreements are profitable.
