&lt;p&gt;From what I&#39;ve gathered, the maintaining part is almost always the harder one, since getting a working first version out is exactly what these tools are optimized for. The gap shows up once real users hit an edge case nobody prompted for, and a non-technical founder has to figure out whether that&#39;s a quick fix or something that needs an actual developer. That&#39;s probably why code ownership and no lock-in matter so much for Lovable specifically, it&#39;s less about building fast and more about not being stuck if a real bug needs someone with development experience to sort out.&lt;/p&gt;
