You can leave notes, send pictures, and all the options they have for reports are great! **What do you dislike about Tadpoles?** The system sometimes checks out the children by itself while they're still in the building, and from the point of view of the front desk, it would be better if the option for text message had the option to send pictures. Also, sometimes the report that I put as a teacher is not the same one that the parents receives on his email. Also, more options for the health check report will be better, other than just for COVID. **What problems is Tadpoles solving and how is that benefiting you?** Sending all the information about my class to parents in simple steps every day! ### 2. It also tracks attendance, when they eat and have potty breaks etc. - so this is tracked in Tadpoles, which eliminates paper! ### 3. It can be unpredictable when it happens but it can negate the flow of ease when you have to stop and relog again. **Recommendations to others considering Tadpoles:** Keep reporting issues when you can. It can be difficult to find time to do so as a care provider, but it helps them to be aware. I also like the dashboard that shows when kids will be needing their next diaper change, bottle, etc. **What do you dislike about Tadpoles?** If music is playing in another app, opening tadpoles will often interfere with the music. I can log meals (including the amount they ate), diapers & bathroom use, naps, and I can also send the parents notes. It's quick to use (on newer ipads) and easy to learn. I also really like that I can see a timer for when a student needs a diaper. The timer can be changed as well. **What do you dislike about Tadpoles?** I don't like that there isn't a counter for how many kids are asleep. This would be extremely useful for sending teachers to lunch as the ratio changes for sleeping children. I also don't like that there's not an app for android. **Recommendations to others considering Tadpoles:** I don't have experience with other childcare softwares but I really like this app. It's user friendly and so quick to log information. Another advantage is being able to take pictures directly in the app and send them to the parents. **What problems is Tadpoles solving and how is that benefiting you?** The app allows the administration to see what teachers are in each room as well as which students and how many. It also allows another form of communication between parents and teachers. ### 11. It also is quicker since you do not have to write everything in by hand. Its also amazing because you can send parents immediate pictures straight to their email so that they know that their child is safe and happy. **What do you dislike about Tadpoles?** Unfortunately just like any software tadpoles can occasionally freeze up or need to be updated. It also can be kind of annoying when you have to edit certain information for kids who may have special lunch request or allergies. **Recommendations to others considering Tadpoles:** I would recommend tadpoles to anyone in the childcare industry because it makes daily reports so much easier. **What problems is Tadpoles solving and how is that benefiting you?** I think I have realized that it is beneficial while working at a daycare because it allows everyone to keep proper record of how each child's day went. ### 12. Combining a communication tool with an electronic database for attendance records, documentation and lesson planning in one app makes it less difficult to juggle these tasks which improves the quality of work. Families love the ability to see updates and photos throughout the day. **What do you dislike about Tadpoles?** Parent to teacher communication is limited to notes on daily sheet. No way for families to share photos to teachers. Process of sharing photos and videos could be improved by making it possible to select multiple photos/videos of one child at a time to be uploaded all together. Changes of information in student profiles, such as new homeroom after transition to the next age group, revert back to what they were previously 24hours later. I believe this is because the student profiles are synced to our CMS system. **Recommendations to others considering Tadpoles:** Learn what software is capable of when used to its potential before implementing it. Give account access to teachers through individual logins. Review activity and proofread entries before approving information to be sent. Utilize it as a way to increase accountability. **What problems is Tadpoles solving and how is that benefiting you?** Electronic record keeping of children's portfolios make it easier for teachers to save and review development. My favorite is the picture sharing feature that allows you to send pictures while attaching it to a description of your lesson plan with goals. It's a great way to document learning achievements. **What do you dislike about Tadpoles?** The only downside is that there are at least 2 or three clicks for every piece of information that you need to input, so it can be time consuming when dealing with large groups of children and submitting individual feedback for each child. **What problems is Tadpoles solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use Tadpoles to communicate break schedules, notes about children (such as if they will be absent or if they have allergies), curriculum goals, as well as personal information about the children that are sent to the parents daily. ### 14. Parents get an email every day with their daily activities and pictures of their child, so they can not only feel like they were part of their day, but can also ask them questions to foster parent/child communication. **What do you dislike about Tadpoles?** Using this program requires the teacher to have an iPad (or iPod) in their hand that is carried throughout the school.
