I like SurveyMonkey for its ease of use and the variety of options it offers to capture data. The different question types are a highlight; they make it simple to ensure consistent data formatting. I also appreciate the ability to set rules for what kind of answers users can provide, like validating correctly formatted email addresses. Another feature I like is the response quality functionality, which allows me to quickly skim through large datasets, flagging rushed or incomplete responses for exclusion from analytics or further follow-up. The theme building features are a little bit cumbersome to use, and I wish there were more robust theming options in terms of custom elements like buttons, backgrounds, and fonts. Question type options do not always meet our precise needs and are not always as customizable as we would prefer. Salesforce integration is somewhat flexible but can be finnicky to use and adapt to work as we would like, but it's normally possible to achieve what we want, with the help of knowledge articles. Cost is astronomical when you need to do a quick/limited survey. I put a survey in the field for a union/collective bargaining matter, and then found out I could not view more than ten responses without a paid plan. The cheapest option was to pay $99 for one month, just to collect fewer than fifty replies to a single one-question survey. I had to pay this out of pocket.

Because I felt my situation was a little unique--urgently needing access to the data already submitted, but by no means needing all the features that come with a full paid membership--I submitted a service request asking if there could be some consideration on the matter. I got an automated confirmation of the service request saying someone would get back to me soon, but three weeks later I have had no response from SurveyMonkey. They did, however, send me a request to leave them a review on G2.

It remains user friendly and a good platform to jump into for surveys. I like that they have a built-in, easy-to-use builder that provides a multitude of options for my surveys. I like that there is a cost-effective option. The plug-ins and add-ons are also good; we don't use them a ton but it's helpful when we do need them. Agree that the skip logic can still be a harder tool to use on the platform. It's fine from a survey taker perspective but can be harder from a set up perspective. I find SurveyMonkey very easy to use with a great interface that allows data to be moved in and out quickly. I love how I can customize based on the various templates they have, and I appreciate the ability to sculpt and customize various assessments. The features and tools offer easy access to run analysis on each individual survey, both during and at the end. I also enjoy having access to all my data in Excel, CSV, or PDF format. Right now its the problems with sending email invites before it use to take upto 5 minutes but most of the time now it takes longer sometimes more than 1-2 hours which isn't good when you are trying to get the last responses. Sometimes it's not easy for me to find (or maybe just remember!) where to find a setting in SurveyMonkey - such as how to close a survey to responses. SurveyMonkey has TONS of features and it isn't difficult to use the basics. There are more powerful survey question types than offered by other survey tools without having to pay for a higher tier plan and more insight/data tools available for survey submissions than other tools that require upgrades to receive. Not everything is intuitive and you have to pay more to get the SurveyMonkey branding removed from most things. Since SurveyMonkey is a well-known tool, I leave their branding and accept that it is there, but it would be nice to pay a small fee to not have it instead of having to upgrade tiers instead. Having used SurveyMonkey for a number of years, I love that it is reliable and almost predictable. It's very easy to use, create a survey, navigate the question type and fields and the preliminary analysis is great. Downloading full data sets for additional analysis is also very easy. I wish that there was an opportunity to adjust color fields of SM produced results to align with my company's color scheme/branding. Sometimes having to recreate the "data" in excel to produce a bar or pie chart is just a step I wish I could skip.
