**What do you like best about Sardine?**

There are several benefits, but the biggest is the ability to capture device intelligence data. That data has already proven invaluable, helping us detect suspicious activity much earlier than we could previously. In addition, being able to customize workflows and adopt specific rules based on product and channel is invaluable feature.

**What do you dislike about Sardine?**

I have not found anything of significance that we dislike.

**What problems is Sardine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Very complex detections across several lines of business. Some of our products have nuances that Sardine has helped fold into our fraud-prevention coverage, which is extremely important to us. In addition, operational efficiency with our large volume of transactions has improved significantly, even though we have not yet fully leveraged the tool.

**What do you like best about Sardine?**

I think the thing I like most about Sardine is that it is highly customizable and provides a lot of data, allowing me to readily understand what customers are doing. This helps me get a clear picture of whether there are any risk identifiers present and make informed decisions about whether a transaction needs further checks or monitoring. I can also leave comments on the checks, which aids in record keeping, and I can organize them in a queue to easily know which ones need review. Without Sardine, we wouldn't have been able to effectively manage a transaction monitoring system as we have. It was imperative to have it, and we couldn't have grown as much as we did in the last twelve months without it.

**What do you dislike about Sardine?**

I think there are a lot of rules. So when you first start out, it can be quite hard to get started. And I think a little bit more help in that initial phase of getting us started would be beneficial. It depends on how well the developers have integrated all of those rules into the information that flows into Sardine. After the initial period, we received some really good help to make customised rules, but initially, we struggled to get the benefit from the more advanced features and build rules that are a bit more complex.

I use Sardine for transaction monitoring, ensuring customer transactions aren't fraudulent, and conducting money laundering and financial crime checks.

**What do you like best about Sardine?**

I like the speed of your dashboard, as well as the service and all the variables you can share with us. Sardine provides us with easy identification in fraudulent cases when reviewing rules, and when there is any analysis to be done, they help us see the best way to use it. Additionally, we value the number of variables they offer us and the ease of payment at the client level, regardless of how many logins the clients make.

**What do you dislike about Sardine?**

There are areas of opportunity for device fingerprinting because it changes a lot for the same device.

I use Sardine to identify frauds such as collusion and identity theft, which facilitates the identification of fraudulent cases and helps us analyze and apply rules effectively.

**What do you like best about Sardine?**

I find Sardine to be extremely data forward with a user-friendly, flexible AI decisioning risk system. I really appreciate the constant enhancement of not only their products but also their talent. Their risk scoring strategy gives me confidence, especially since false positives are way down. Our main contacts, Gianna Lussier and Alex Popelard, are amazing and treat us like their largest client. The support from Sardine has been outstanding, which made the moderate setup much smoother.

Nothing that I can easily think of.

**What problems is Sardine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Sardine for AFT and ACH risk scoring and AML monitoring. It allows us to guarantee transactions and significantly reduces false positives. The AI decisioning risk system boosts confidence in their strategy.

I use Sardine for building rules for our fraud monitoring systems within our risk operations team, and I appreciate their willingness to listen, learn, and adapt with us. They met with us to learn about a data gap and provided a solution within weeks that we are using today. Sardine adds external data that we wouldn't have access to otherwise, and they also serve as an extension of our team's fraud expertise. Additionally, some of the AI agents and data provided by Sardine have improved our in-house AI agents.

I love how wonderful the implementation team and account manager are to work with. The platform is extremely easy to interact with, and help is always available. I also found the initial setup very easy, especially with the help of a great integrations manager, Suzi Kim.

Documentation of procedures is sometimes outdated. Frequent process updates should also reflect on the documentation for clients.

Sardine provides valuable risk signals we didn’t get from other vendors, the integration was very customizable, and their team is very responsive whenever we have questions or need support.

The flexibility is a double-edged sword. I’m very happy with the solution we ultimately ended up with, but it took some time to get it right, and it definitely wasn’t “turn key” on day one.

**What do you like best about Sardine?**

It's a powerful tool with features that allow you to risk-assess everything from phone numbers to devices to biometrics. The rule engine is comprehensive, allowing you to get down to the essential details for those pesky trends.
Integration is relatively straightforward through the SDK and API calls, and our Account Manager (a shoutout to Rob) and the support team are incredibly helpful and responsive when we have queries.
If you have any particular issues with a trend or rule, the team is happy to take the sessions and analyse/suggest some rules which might help, which is super helpful.
Lots of potential for further development.

**What do you dislike about Sardine?**

The downside is that new staff seem to struggle with it. Although they can become very proficient once they're used to it, the road to proficiency is long and arduous.

**What problems is Sardine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a crypto merchant, we constantly consider how to protect the markets from fraud and abuse, and Sardine helps us achieve this.

Beyond the product itself, which is fantastic, the entire Sardine team supports you and your individual use cases to incorporate your transaction and onboarding flows.

**What do you dislike about Sardine?**

I wouldn’t necessarily call it a negative, but one area for improvement would be incorporating AI-driven insights beyond just policies or templates. It would be valuable to have an intelligence layer that identifies transaction patterns and provides proactive suggestions or warnings based on learned behaviors. Over time, as more transactions are processed, the system could tailor insights to our specific transaction types and customer base, enhancing fraud detection and risk assessment.
Additionally, if I could, I would like to have a slightly better integration with plaid identity verification so that we don't have to add the results as custom fields.

Sardine allows us to in a single pain of Glass be able to on board, score, and monitor transactions of various types for all of our banking workflows

**What do you like best about Sardine?**

Sardine is user friendly and it's easy to make changes if needed. The team is extremely helpful if you need a little extra help and they provide updates about changes. I use Sardine daily and multiple times throughout the day. I love that you're able to back test rules and easily build upon established rules. You can be as specific as you'd like!

**What do you dislike about Sardine?**

This isn't necessarily a dislike,  but an extra step for me is the date filter. We have used Sardine for longer than 1 year and sometimes need to search beyond that. As time goes on we have to go further back. Which is actually a great thing too!

**What problems is Sardine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The goal for using Sardine is to catch fraudsters before they fully onboard. We also use Sardine to gather trends that fraudsters use. For example, we found that the fraudsters use Android devices the most.

Sardine’s platform offers strong real-time risk decisioning and fraud prevention tools, which helps us identify and mitigate fraudulent transactions quickly. The dashboard is intuitive, the rule-building is flexible, and their machine-learning models are solid at flagging high-risk activity while minimizing false positives. We also appreciate the speed of their customer support and their willingness to collaborate on roadmap improvements. Their proactive approach to risk monitoring gives us better control and visibility over evolving threats.

Sardine helps us tackle the growing challenge of real-time fraud prevention, especially as transaction volumes and fraud sophistication increase. Before Sardine, we faced delays in detecting risky behavior, leading to financial losses and operational headaches from manual reviews. With Sardine’s automated decisioning and machine-learning models, we’re able to reduce fraud losses, accelerate onboarding by confidently approving good customers, and decrease the burden on our internal risk team. Their proactive risk signals and continuous monitoring allow us to act on threats faster, improving both customer trust and our operational efficiency.

Sardine is by far the most useful fraud tool I have ever used. With just one click on a user profile, I can see everything I need to know about a user. I use it every day multiple times a day, and would have a much harder time doing my job without the use of Sardine. Their customer service representatives are also top notch.

**What do you dislike about Sardine?**

Sardine is always evolving to keep up with the change in fraud detection. It is definitely important to stay up to date on what is new to make sure you are getting full use of the software.

**What problems is Sardine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sardine helps facilitate everything about a user that helps me know if they are a good actor or bad actor. For example, I can know how many credit cards a user added to their account in a specific time frame to see if they are credit card testing or not. Sardine also notifies me immediately about any users who are attempting to sign in from any OFAC countries. Sardine also provides a risk score (low, medium, high, very-high) that helps determine the risk a customer could bring to the platform.

**What do you like best about Sardine?**

Sardine is an incredible solution. It is truly a world class fraud platform addressing every channel and need, delivering the capabilities only previously available to large companies with dedicated risk engineering teams. With a small team and Sardine fully implemented across our onboarding, money movement, and account security we are able to monitor, thwart, and adapt to fraud in real-time with a single analyst. We have been a Sardine client for years and were an early adopter. Even when they were a small team and starting out, the functionality, support, and innovatios was second to none and exceeded the support and capabilities or our larger and more well know providers in the space. We soon replaced our established partner with Sardine and completed the full implementation in a matter of weeks with only two engineers. They have been the easiest partner to integrate with even with their solution integrated through ever aspect of our app.

**What do you dislike about Sardine?**

There isn't anything we dislike about Sardine. From the functionality and experience to their executive team, they have always prioritized every client's success. They are the only vendor we do not have any complaints about or difficulties with, and we judge all other vendors by the quality of the product and service and ease of integration we receive from Sardine.

**What problems is Sardine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sardine serves as our holistic fraud and compliance solution. We use it for onboarding (KYC/BSA and fraud), AML, ACH and wire transfer screening, account profile updates, device analysis at login, OFAC screening, case management, and card fraud monitoring. The product offers top-tier solutions for each channel and provides the ability to view and monitor client and account activity holistically and use data across channels to better inform decisioning in real-time.

**What do you like best about Sardine?**

As the product owner of a newly launched neobank, fraud and compliance was top of mind during the initial launch. We were looking for a tool that not only handled case management, but also behavioral biometrics and velocity rule writing. Sardine has been a tool where we have been able to integrate ID&V, selfie and other signals as part of our fraud and risk mitigation requirements. Being able to expand on some existing out of the box rules has also helped us get up and running faster than ever. Having a dedicated contact point in slack has also been crucial when questions come up. As fruaud never sleeps, you'll find yourself living in the dashboard.

**What do you dislike about Sardine?**

As fraud is a complex situation, going down a rabbit hole with many different signals could at times be a challenge to follow the endpoints. Being someone that wants more than just a risk score but the reasons behind score, display all the information in multiple tabs is a challenge.

**What do you like best about Sardine?**

Communication is easy with quick turnaround on responses, even on more complicated inquiries. Our account manager is organized, efficient, and stays on top of our needs. There is no hesitation to bring in a tech or specialist in any area if she doesn't have the answer for us. She always ensures that our time is used productively. Getting the most out of our contract felt like a priority to our account manager and it was easy to implement new features we hadn't started with at first. We're a small start-up but Sardine always made us feel like we mattered to them!

**What do you dislike about Sardine?**

Some of the language used in rules and certain parameters is hard to understand. It can be a little challenging to understand what the metric is, but when that occurs we are always able to send a quick question over or set up a meeting for more in-depth explanation.

**What problems is Sardine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sardine has helped us weed out bad actors from onboarding. We feel strongly that their KYC process is highly effective in helping us maintain quality onboarders. The KYC parameters are also very easy to adjust when needed.

Truthfully, the most helpful aspect of Sardine is our Product Support Rep Rob Schaefer! Without Rob's assistance and advice, we would be pretty lost. He is also super knowledgeable from a dev perspective along with a customer/user focus and this greatly helps with implementing Sardine throughout our platform.

**What do you dislike about Sardine?**

The only downside of Sardine in my opinion is that it can be a bit overwhelming and somewhat crowded with signals. As a new user or novice fraud analyst, Sardine does have a large learning curve and providing a tutorial or walkthroughs geared towards someone without an engineering background would be helpful.

**What problems is Sardine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sardine is helping us sus out malicious actors, users being scammed, users violating our terms of use, and users potentially violating AML regulations. We benefit from Sardine in numerous ways, most importantly being able to flag users/accounts and block them from completeing additional transactions that we want to investigate or avoid from being completed. Sardine also helps us identify potential account takeovers.

As one of their earlier customers, we were privileged to witness firsthand the rapid release and enhancement of their platform. The pace at which Sardine rolled out new features was nothing short of impressive, within months of starting the engagement they had transitioned from a new entrant to a genuine threat to the incumbents, providing the core neccesities required to manage a high quality Trust, Safety and Fraud Management program and then innoviating beyond the industry standard.

Beyond a standard plug-and-play Sardine ventured into areas that other market players had either overlooked or failed to execute well on, including vast third party integrations that really helped bridge the onboarding experience across both fraud prevention and compliance/kyc onboarding.

Most importantly, the expertise within the team was key to our success, whether it was the dedication to supporting us in a difficult timezone without any challenges or the knowledge we were able to absorb and put into actionable fraud detection strategies.

**What do you dislike about Sardine?**

In our experience, challenges were rare. We had minor teething problems when the product was in its infancy, but the Sardine team was remarkably swift and proactive in addressing them or providing work arounds (even if they were just minor aesthic feedback that we had no expections to be resolved, the team executed).

**What do you like best about Sardine?**

Sardine was very straightforward to integrate into our APIs and thanks to their robust documentation there were minimal questions during the integration period. Within days their rule sets and models scored on par with an in-house solution developed over years of time. The dashboard is amazing, providing excellent visibility and valuable analytics, I look forward to seeing how it continues to be improved. The sardine team is extremely responsive and proactive in reaching out and seeing us through to successful integration, as well as quick to respond whenever an issue arises.

**What do you dislike about Sardine?**

I would like to see the latency continue to improve in the API requests.

On the dashboard I'd like to see more custom personalized account functionalities such as setting my personal timezone so all date timestamps correlate, currently everything is in UTC. 

I would really like automated alerting available including integrations with Datadog and/or Pagerduty.

**What problems is Sardine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sardine provides a risk analysis on transactions and account login and signup across our products. It helps us to minimize fraudulent activity on our products which enables us to increase our overall top line and provide the best possible user experience for our customers.

**What do you like best about Sardine?**

Effective product: I use the product primarily for behavioral biometrics and that's incredibly effective at fraud capture. We've seen value in this since launching with them.
Smooth integration: We had 1 kickoff call and 1 more in-depth look at their API docs after which we were able to integrate with them without any additional support.
Organized account management: Sardine.ai provides exceptional support in terms of a dedicated account manager who will meet with us biweekly, prepare reports, suggest decision logic improvements, and show us anecdotal evidence of the kind of bad actors we are stopping. It's very re-affirming to have someone invested in constantly improving with us instead of someone just there to "manage" the relationship.

**What do you dislike about Sardine?**

There's others here that have talked about the UI which is a little raw compared to some of their competitors. Additionally, if you're not using their entire suite, then it's difficult to figure out which out of the box rules we have access to vs not.
It's also very difficult to configure their out of the box rules. E.g., if you want to change something about one of their rules, instead of just being able to change it, you have to create a duplicate, modify that duplicate, save it, and then archive the old rule. It's very tedious to do when setting up if you have 20+ rules to modify.

**What problems is Sardine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Sardine.ai primarily for their behavioral biometrics and device intelligence (although I'm given to understand that they also have a KYC solution). It helps us identify bad actors using a vector we didn't really have access to before this and allows us to weed them out without creating any friction for good users.

**What do you like best about Sardine?**

Sardine utilizes cutting-edge technology to help prevent fraud and offers first-class support to users. 
The Sardine team is knowledgeable, responsive, and dedicated to helping you get the most out of the system.
No matter the nature of the problem, if there isn't a feature that can help resolve it, the Sardine team will develop it.

**What do you dislike about Sardine?**

The only aspect that we find challenging with regard to Sardine is navigating the User Interface. 
It is often difficult to navigate various queues or accounts that trigger certain rules. 
If certain features could be contained within a single browser tab (single-page application architecture) it would help a great deal in making the UI more intuitive and user friendly, as well as resource efficient.

**What problems is Sardine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sardine has helped a great deal in preventing fraud and legal liabilities in new areas of expansion, specifically previous expansion in US markets. 
Without Sardine it would have been impossible to prevent payment fraud and account takeovers in the regions we expanded into.
We look forward to leveraging Sardine's features and cutting-edge technology to help combat payment fraud and account takeovers in our existing markets.

**What do you like best about Sardine?**

Sardine's fraud prevention and on-ramp systems are world-class. They are my go-to fraud vendor for device intelligence, behavioral biometrics, KYC, issuing fraud controls, and I have yet to use a product built by Sardine that did not make an immediate/positive impact in fraud prevention performance and ROI.

**What do you dislike about Sardine?**

Sardine is continuing to build out their rule engine UX. Initally, like all companies, it takes multiple iterations to get the UX side of things into a sweat spot on rule engines, and Sardine has done a fantastic job working with their merchants, receiving feedback, and being open to constructive criticism to build out a very user friendly product. Because of this, I no long have any issues or areas that I dislike about Sardine.

**What problems is Sardine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Onboarding risk/fraud, behavioral biometrics, issuing/card risk scoring, identity, and fraud risk management.

Sardine stands out for its user-friendliness and intuitive design, allowing users to accomplish a great deal with ease. The support team is brilliant. They provide exceptional assistance with their timely responses. The team is highly knowledgeable about fraud prevention and utilizes sophisticated analytics which helps us make informed decisions.

So far, I haven't encountered anything that I dislike about the product or the team's support. The only minor issue we have faced is the difficulty in exporting data, but we have found workarounds to overcome it.

Sardine is our go-to solution for KYC verification, device intelligence, transaction monitoring, and soon, document verification. The detailed information it provides helps us make informed decisions and prevents fraudulent activities on our financial platform.

We've had a positive experience. It's a comprehensive product. The main drawback, in my opinion, is that it's an expensive product. But I'm confident it will be worth it and more cost-effective as we keep scaling our volume.

Single pane of glass solution for transactions, KYC, account linking, and ongoing user activity monitoring. And their level of support is absolutely amazing.

**What do you dislike about Sardine?**

Would love to see a smoother transition between out-of-the-box rules when customizing them so as not to have many same related rules running simultaneously.

**What problems is Sardine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quickly allows us to view and assess all KYC candidates, review IDs, and create rules to properly mitigate fraud. The financial benefit has been enormous.

The best thing about Sardine is how user-friendly it is to use, it accomplishes so much while being very intuitive. Additionally the support team is great with very timely responses.

I think certain features could be improved upon, primarily back-testing and exporting data.

Sardine primarily benefits me by solving problems around manual onboarding review. It helps both to prevent fraudulent users and to significantly reduce time spent manually reviewing applications.

The team has a ton of expertise around fraud prevention and relies heavily on analytics for decisions that go beyond the regular stacks. The product itself is excellent and breeds confidence which is the most important piece.

Nothing up to this point that I can have disliked of the product or team support so far.

Fraud is not static and what that means is that systems need to be flexible enough. 

Flexibility and constant team input on making the right decisions are the biggest benefit, plus the reliability itself.
