**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

Sage Intacct is a user-friendly cloud-based ERP that provides strong financial reporting and multi-entity accounting capabilities. What I like most is the ability to create customized reports and dashboards, which helps management make informed decisions quickly. The system also streamlines month-end close activities through automated journal entries, approval workflows, and real-time visibility into financial data.
As part of the Record-to-Report process, I find the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and reporting modules particularly effective. The audit trail functionality, drill-down capabilities, and ease of accessing supporting documents significantly improve accuracy and efficiency. Being cloud-based, it allows users to work from anywhere while maintaining strong controls and security.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

Sage Intacct is a strong financial management platform, but some areas could be improved. Certain reports and dashboards require a learning curve to customize effectively, especially for new users. During high-volume month-end close activities, navigation between modules can sometimes feel less intuitive than expected. Additionally, some advanced functionalities and integrations may require additional configuration or support, which can increase implementation time. Enhancing user interface consistency and simplifying report customization would further improve the overall user experience.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sage Intacct helps us solve the challenge of managing and analyzing financial performance across multiple business dimensions. In our organization, we use dimensions such as physician specialties to track revenue, expenses, and profitability by specialty. This allows management to identify high-performing areas, allocate resources more effectively, and make data-driven business decisions.
The platform also streamlines month-end close activities by providing real-time financial data, automated workflows, and detailed audit trails. Instead of relying on manual spreadsheets, we can generate accurate reports quickly and drill down into transactions when investigating variances. This has improved reporting efficiency, increased data accuracy, and provided greater visibility into the financial health of the business.

  ### 2. Flexible Reporting and Real-Time Help Through Tutorials and Community

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

I like that we are able to make reports to show exactly what data we are wanting to see. I also like that wea re able to watch tutorials or talk to the community to find solutions in real time. We are currently adding AI to make accounts payable more streamlined.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

I dislike that we cannot leave certain dimensions open after periods close. I also do not like that once something is created at the entity level, admin cannot make it available at the top level. That seems like something easy for admin to handle. But multiple times it has caused difficulties when something (vendor, user, program, etc) is created at the entity rather than the top level.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have had Sage Intacct as long as I have been with the company. However, other schools do not use Intacct and struggle to report the multiple dmmensions like we do so easily in Sage Intacct.

**Official Response from Sammi Zhao:**

> Thank you for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and detailed review! It's genuinely great to hear that Sage Intacct's flexible reporting has made multi-dimensional reporting a strength for your team, and that the tutorials and community have been real-time resources you can lean on. Your excitement about bringing AI into accounts payable is well-placed — it's an area where a lot of great things are happening. That said, we hear you on the friction around dimensions after period close and the challenges with entity-level versus top-level item availability. Those are real pain points, and we appreciate you naming them specifically. I'll be sure to share your feedback with our product team so they can consider it for future enhancements — your experience in a multi-entity education environment is exactly the kind of insight that helps shape what we build next.

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

I like how Sage Intacct provides a multi-entity friendly environment, which is a huge advantage for our complex multi-entity organization. The ability to migrate clients from QuickBooks to Sage Intacct saves us time and enhances efficiency with more robust reporting capabilities, especially in multi-entity scenarios. The out-of-the-box financial reports are impressive and surpass the legacy systems our clients previously used. Plus, Sage Intacct allows us to use the interactive custom report writer and visual explorer to tailor data displays within our environment. The implementation is fairly seamless given the platform's robustness, and managing user access is easy. It also allows us to get granular with client-specific access rights, which is very convenient.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

I would like to see them continue on the AI front. Right now, there needs to be more AI built directly into the system that you interact with in order to keep up with its competitors. The ability to use agentic AI and communicate directly with an AI agent in terms of updating information or even report building just by having a conversation explaining what you want to see within the system.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Sage Intacct solves complex multi-entity organization issues for me, offers me more robust reporting capabilities, and is a huge time efficiency saver.

**Official Response from Bethany McDermott:**

> Thank you for your insightful review! We're delighted to hear that Sage Intacct enhances your experience as an accountant and product implementation specialist. We appreciate your feedback on pricing for startups and feedback internally. It's great to know that our integration capabilities help your clients maintain their favorite automation tools while allowing for growth. Thank you for choosing Sage Intacct!

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

Sage Intacct is user-friendly and offers a help section that’s easy to navigate. Creating custom reports that are auto-generated for the credit control team has saved hours of work each month. Payment runs are also easier and faster; instead of manually setting up individual payments, they can be completed by importing a file, which reduces the chance of payments being missed. The bank line feeds have saved a lot of time as well, especially once we set rules so they apply to the correct customer.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

Sometimes when an error pops up, it’s not always clear where to go to solve the problem. There’s also occasional downtime when the bank feeds don’t show up, or they come through later in the day. It doesn’t happen often, and to be fair everything has little niggles now and again.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time is important in any role, and the manual processes we had in place have now been replaced with a much slicker workflow. From importing bank feeds to creating weekly payment files, everything feels more accurate and efficient.

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

There aren't really any new features that we are using on a regular basis unfortunately.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

The search function in AR/AP is overly sensitive. For example if searching for an invoice with John Doe as the description, if I search just 'Doe' nothing will come up. It should display all invoices with Doe in the description. There should be a setting to alter this if needed.
The custom reporting module is quite complicated at times. I wouldn't describe it as an intuitive easy-to-use solution. It might be better to explore alternatives via the Sage marketplace with some sort of 3rd party report editor.
AR bulk imports have become quite slow. We require imports of 5000 lines plus for receipts, but these can now take upwards of 30 mins each to be imported. I'm not sure if there is a fix for this.. it may just be a limitation of the import method.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sage intacct allows us to utilise its features to help analyse the finances of the business more effectively and report on them to management.

**Official Response from Sam Dempster:**

> Hi Harry,

Thanks for your feedback, I'll pass your feedback onto our product and UX teams to try and address the repetitive nature of some of our training content.

Thanks again and best wishes
Sam

  ### 6. Powerful Financial Management with Real-Time Insights

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

At G2, we prefer fresh reviews and we like to follow up with reviewers. They may not have updated their review text, but have updated their review.

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

What I like best about Sage Intacct is its intuitive, cloud-based platform and powerful financial reporting capabilities. The customizable dashboards and real-time visibility into financial data make it easy to track performance and make informed decisions quickly. Automation of routine accounting tasks, such as approvals and reconciliations, helps save time and reduces manual errors. The ability to integrate with other business systems also improves efficiency and provides a more streamlined workflow across teams.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

Sage Intacct is a powerful platform, but some features can take time to learn and fully utilize. Certain customizations and reporting configurations may require extra effort, and additional modules can increase overall costs. However, these challenges are generally outweighed by the system's functionality and benefits.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sage Intacct helps solve challenges related to manual accounting processes, fragmented financial data, and limited visibility into business performance. By automating routine financial tasks and providing real-time reporting, it improves accuracy, saves time, and enables faster decision-making. The centralized platform makes it easier to manage financial operations, monitor key metrics, and collaborate across teams, resulting in increased efficiency and productivity.

  ### 7. Live Dashboards and Flexible Stock Reporting Keep Teams Aligned

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

I really value the broad range of stock reports, and I like that I can also build more targeted, custom reports using the same underlying data. It’s especially useful that this information carries across different levels of the organization, so teams stay aligned and everyone is working from the same consistent view. On top of that, the dashboards update with live data, which makes it much easier to make decisions in the moment.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

While I like and appreciate the Budget repository, I wish the system were more intuitive when allocating an amount across 12 months in a way that reflects the total more accurately. Right now, that doesn’t happen because of rounding issues.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sage Intacct has been an immense benefit to our organization. Before we had the software, we relied on an outside accounting firm and were essentially at their mercy for data entry and financial reporting. Since implementing Sage Intacct, we’ve gone from a 4–6 week timeframe for receiving financials to closing our books and having financials within two weeks. The time savings and access to more immediate information have been our greatest benefits, especially when it comes to financial planning.

**Official Response from Sammi Zhao:**

> Hi there, thank you for taking the time to share such detailed and thoughtful feedback. It's genuinely exciting to hear how Sage Intacct has transformed your financial operations — going from a 4–6 week close cycle to having financials ready within two weeks is a remarkable achievement, and knowing that real-time dashboards and consistent cross-organizational reporting are helping your team make confident, in-the-moment decisions is exactly what we aim for. We do hear your concern about the rounding behavior when allocating a total budget amount across 12 months in the Budget repository, and we understand how important accuracy is in that process — that's not the experience we want for you. To help us look into this further, please respond to this message and let us know who's providing your support, whether that's directly from us or through one of our partners, so we can make sure the right team takes action. Thanks again for such meaningful feedback — it genuinely helps us improve. Also, if interested, we feel you'd be a great candidate for our Sage Champions program. Sage Champions are fans of our solutions and help us promote the great capabilities of Sage through success stories, speaking engagements -- and other opportunities of your choosing. ### 8. Cloud-First ERP Powerhouse with Helpful, Knowledgeable Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

Sage Intacct is the best ERP if you’re looking for a cloud-first solution without all the red tape and difficult setup that other competitors require. I was able to onboard and set up Intacct myself for our small company, with only a little help directly from a Sage consultant. Their team members are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, which makes it easy to get questions answered and tailor the system to what you need. We were able to save tens of thousands by doing it this way, compared to going with Netsuite or SAP. Overall, it’s a truly heavy-duty ERP platform that can easily handle core financials.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

Sage isn’t as visually polished as, say, Xero, and it’s significantly more complex. You really have to get up to speed on the specific way Sage does things, and it can feel very rigid. If you aren’t careful during setup, testing, or the learning process, you can end up with erroneous data or annoying formatting that’s difficult to get rid of. It’s all in the name of data integrity and traceability, but if you prefer being able to clean up mistakes and keep everything tidy, that can be tricky in Sage.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sage integrates really well with many of the top apps out there and serves as a strong core financial platform. Once it’s up and running, it can help speed up back-office operations. That said, it’s best suited for teams that need more complex capabilities than Xero or Quickbooks offer out of the gate.

  ### 9. Powerful Integrations but Challenging Setup

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

I like that Sage Intacct has many different integration partners. We integrate with Martus for budgeting and forecasting. We also integrate with Concur for electronic expense reporting and invoice processing. Since moving from a traditional account number structure to Sage Intacct's dimension structure, we've been able to improve our reporting and data collection significantly. The dynamic allocation tools have cut our processing time down each month and has allowed us to better explain how these costs impact each ministry area of our organization.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

Everything except accounts receivable can be handled at the top level, but accounts receivable (AR) has to be managed at the entity level, which is really confusing and makes it harder to track things down compared to when it's done at the top level. Also, the initial setup was quite a struggle; it was a huge conceptual change for my staff to move from the traditional account number structure to the dimension structure, which posed many challenges. We operate many separate entities that really are all part of one non profit but because of past history they remain separate reporting entities. The multi entity features of Sage Intacct has made this a very simple process to combine the necessary entities together for the external reporting. The only area where this has not worked well is in the AR module that requires everything to be done at the entity level so it takes more time to discover what entity the receivable is related to.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Sage Intacct to get consolidated financial information and to integrate with tools like Martus and Concur for budgeting, forecasting, and expense reporting. We also have been able to connect our donor database in Salesforce to Sage to post our gift revenue directly from the donor database. When we moved to Sage Intacct we had separate vendor files for each of our ministries and we were able to move to one vendor file for all our ministries and get a better idea of our volumes we spend at each vendor and streamlined our 1099 processing. This changed reduced our 1099 processing costs and decreased our staff time in half.

  ### 10. Powerful Reporting and Reliable Performance with Sage Intacct

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

Sage Intacct offers multiple features that make it easy to filter data when building custom reports. It has significantly lightened the workload in our accounting department. In the past three years we’ve been with Sage, I can only recall one time the system went down, and even then it was only for about an hour. When we need support, they’re available to help and respond in a timely manner.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

The implementation of Sage was time consuming, but in the long run it was worth the effort. Getting to know the system takes a little effort, but once you know it you know it. The price is high, but it is worth it.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We moved from another accounting software that did not integrate well with our needs. The software did not allow us to account for certain aspects that we needed to. The implementation team for Sage was able to listen to us and come up with a solution that works very well for us.

  ### 11. Too Rigid: No Deleting Transactions Makes Corrections Painful

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

Most helpful feature is our bespoke Prepaid Amortization module. Useful to plug in prepaid items and have Intacct automate our amortization entries each month. I use it for prepaid insurance and prepaid software.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

That would be a long list, but mainly I dislike Intacct's rigidity. Once a transaction has processed (e.g. an invoice receives a payment, a warehouse processed an inventory transfer, a bill was paid, etc...) we cannot DELETE it ever. That's it. No flexibility. For example, say we miscode a bill and receive a partial payment and apply it to said bill, then later on find the bill was miscoded. We are stuck with the bill forever, we need to do a lot of mental gymnastics to fix the miscoded bill's impact on our financials. We can't just void the payment, delete the bill, recode the bill, and reapply payments to it. Same thing with invoices/credit memos and obsolete warehouses.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Intacct is causing more problems than it is solving. Mainly to data migration being done poorly from the onset.

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

I love the Interactive Reporting Module. This lets me pull any kind of data from our system to better understand the metrics. I can create pivot tables, compare AP and AR data, and more within this module.
They also offer many classes for free to ensure you are utilizing the software to your company's needs. Many of these classes are CPE credit compatible.
The system is very rarely down to ensure you can continue working through even the toughest projects with no interruptions.
There are many integration opportunities as well. We are able to import and export data to our other systems. There has not been a system we have added yet that does not integrate with Intacct.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

There is nothing I dislike about the system itself. It would be helpful if support tickets were completed faster than the current wait time.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reporting. There's less excel tweaks when running reports. I can just download the reports in real-time with the data I need.

**Official Response from Sammi Zhao:**

> Hello there, what a wonderful review to come across — thank you for putting so much thought into it! Hearing how the Interactive Reporting Module has cut down on all those extra Excel steps and made real-time data so much more accessible is genuinely great to know, and your comments about the seamless integrations and rock-solid uptime really stood out. We appreciate you noting the support ticket wait times too — that's feedback we take seriously and will continue working to improve. As an aside, customers like you, who clearly get so much out of the platform and articulate it so well, are exactly who our Sage Champions community was built for. **What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

Sage Intacct is a very flexible, customizable product. The fact that it’s a SaaS product is also very helpful, since I’m able to access information from just about anywhere. Data integrations are easy to manage, and the end-user interface makes navigation a breeze. Overall, it’s very cost-effective. The system has also been consistently available and hasn’t been down since we started using it in 2019.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

Up to this point, we have not had any major issues with Sage Intacct or reasons to question our decision to make the switch. We are very happy with the product.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In our setting, we have multiple entities. Before switching to Sage Intacct, we would have to log out of one entity and log back into the next entity. With Sage Intacct, that process is gone. We can seamlessly and effortlessly move between entities. Also, we can access data securely from anyway instead of having to be on-site to access our data.

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

Sage Intacct has a full suite of the functionality I need - AP, AR, purchasing, invoicing, etc. are all available to me based on my company's needs. We have gone from taking 3-4 months to close our books to less than 2 weeks. We also have greatly reduced our paper usage by being able to do so much more electronically (attaching invoices, paying by ACH, etc.); we have a huge vault that was full of filing cabinets of old documents - now we barely use one cabinet for a year's worth of documentation and everything else is online.
Personally, moving to Sage Intacct has allowed me to work from home a couple of days a week (this was not possible on our old, server-based software). I can be almost as effective from my home as I am when in the office with my staff. And saving the money and time on commuting is great.
I also really like that it is very cutting-edge and always introducing new features to keep up with technology, such as AI reading incoming invoices and automatically classifying and entering the relevant data. This saves on input errors and time retyping data.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

Getting used to navigating the menus in Sage Intacct was the worst part of the software when we first adopted it. I honestly didn’t think I’d ever remember all the steps needed to get to the functionality I wanted, but I eventually learned. Even now it still feels cumbersome, though I can get where I need to go fairly quickly.

I also don’t like the error messages. When you enter something and there’s an issue, the message you get is usually confusing and often includes code. I’m sure that’s helpful for programmers, but it doesn’t mean anything to me.

Reports are another area I struggle with. They’re really hard to understand, and it took me hours and hours to figure things out because it’s about as far from intuitive as you can imagine.

Finally, I dislike that you can’t really change the reporting defaults in Sage Intacct. It always defaults to one month and a calendar year. I wish it recognized that not everyone operates on a calendar year, and that a fiscal year is more important to me. I should be able to choose the default I want for reporting, but instead, every single time I pull data I have to override the default and enter different dates, which is annoying.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Sage Intacct, we struggled with being very paper-based and manual. Everything was input and printed and signed off with initials. Sage Intacct streamlined all reporting, journal entries, invoices, etc and allowed all permissions to be done electronically. This has saved hours of work, wasted paper, and missed authorizations.
Sage Intacct has also allowed much better visibility for our managers. Before we implemented it, mangers would receive paper reports several months after the activity took place, and they had no way of correcting issues. Now managers can see things on line whenever they wish, let me know if there is a problem and/or if they see costs getting out of control they can take action to correct this issue. This saves us money, wasted time and better management.

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

Sage is incredibly helpful for us as a non-profit that works with multiple grants/funding sources. It was a huge step up from Quickbooks and has helped us to track and manage 50+ grants at a time with ease. The allocation application is a massive time saver, and the integration with ADP for our payroll is pretty seamless. They system has helped us to step up to the next level in our accounting processes by making it easy to create clear processes for check-writing and receiving payments.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

Sage is an incredibly expensive product, but if you can afford it, the system is worth it. Time and effort for onboarding is massive. You will need to be able to advocate for yourself if the jargon the onboarding team uses is foreign to you. Some onboarding team members were better than others. There is also a pretty big learning curve if you are coming from a simpler system, like Quickbooks.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were not able to manage all of our grants/funding sources through our previous accounting system. Sage has made it simple to track, report, and maintain all of our grants. Without Sage, we could not continue to grow effectively and continue to add additional levels of complexity in years to come.

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

Moving from a system that did not have any dimensions, that has been one of the biggest helps for our organization. It keeps our chart of accounts much cleaner and allows us to analyze financials from different angles. It's marketplace and integrations are also a massive upgrade from Sage 100.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

Setting up reports or making seemingly small changes is a little less simple than I would like. My ability to use the platform is easy enough to move in and out of different modules, but if you want a report or a screen or setup to look a different way, it seems like there should be drag and drop options that are just not available. A lot of clicks to change small things.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Part of our problem with Sage 100 was that seemingly nothing was where you thought it should be. Because of that, it made our data feel less trustworthy and difficult to manage. We do not have that problem with Intacct. We know the financials are accurate and that it is capturing all the data we need.

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

Alright, buckle up, because Sage Intacct absolutely deserves this glowing review!

From the get-go, this cloud accounting software has been a game-changer for our business. We were drowning in spreadsheets and outdated systems, and Intacct swooped in like a superhero with a cape made of efficiency.

The real-time visibility it offers is incredible. We can now see exactly where we stand financially, drilling down into the details with ease. No more waiting for month-end reports that feel like ancient history! The customizable dashboards are fantastic – we've tailored them to show us the key metrics that matter most, making informed decisions a breeze.

What really sets Intacct apart is its robustness and scalability. As we've grown, it's grown with us, handling increasing complexity without a hiccup. The multi-dimensional reporting is a lifesaver, allowing us to analyze our data in ways we never thought possible. Seriously, slicing and dicing financial information has become… dare I say… enjoyable?

And let's talk integrations. Intacct plays nicely with so many other crucial business systems. This seamless connectivity has streamlined our workflows and eliminated so much manual data entry. It's like all our essential tools are finally speaking the same language.

Finally, the support team is top-notch. Whenever we've had a question (and let's be honest, with any new system there are always a few!), they've been responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. It feels like they're true partners in our success.

Honestly, if you're looking for a powerful, flexible, and future-proof accounting solution, look no further than Sage Intacct. It's not just software; it's a strategic asset that has significantly improved our financial operations. Five stars all the way! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

Okay, so while I'm a big fan, no system is perfect, right? If I had to nitpick something someone could dislike about Sage Intacct, it might be the initial learning curve and implementation.

Because it's such a robust and feature-rich platform, getting everything set up exactly how you want it and training your team can take a bit more time and effort upfront compared to simpler, less comprehensive solutions. It's not necessarily difficult, but it does require a commitment to the process. If a business is looking for something incredibly basic right out of the box with minimal setup, the depth of Intacct might feel a little overwhelming initially.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Basically, it kicks a lot of the annoying parts of my job to the curb. Think mountains of invoices to type in? Intacct often grabs that info automatically – huge time-saver and way fewer typos. Chasing down who needs to approve what? It routes invoices electronically and pings people, so stuff doesn't get stuck on someone's desk for ages.

I can actually see what's going on with our bills in real-time, not just some dusty report at the end of the month. Need to know if we paid a certain vendor? Boom, it's right there. Got different parts of the company? Intacct keeps all those bills straight in one place, which is a lifesaver. Plus, it's got my back on catching mistakes like paying the same bill twice – that's always a good thing!

So, instead of drowning in paperwork and playing detective, I can actually get stuff done faster and more accurately. It makes my day way less chaotic and honestly, makes me feel like I'm actually contributing instead of just pushing paper. It's a solid tool that makes my AP life much easier.

At G2, we prefer fresh reviews and we like to follow up with reviewers. They may not have updated their review text, but have updated their review.

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

I find Sage Intacct user-friendly and easy to navigate. I like how we can customize reports by handling categories, trends, by department, classes, and in all dimensions, which helps us view balance sheets. I also appreciate features like bank reconciliations and consolidation modules, which assist in consolidating multiple currencies and multi-entities. Additionally, setting it up was easy, which I found really beneficial.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

The recurring entries aspect of Sage Intacct is a bit frustrating for me. It's not possible to post these entries on a daily basis, which limits flexibility. I would prefer if there was an option to have fixed recurring entries. Also, accessing KvaS recurring templates is not possible, which is limiting.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Sage Intacct for consolidation models, day-to-day appointments, and creating invoices. It handles contacts, funds payable, cash applications, and bank reconciliations. It's user-friendly, easy to navigate, and helps customize reports for balance sheet viewing by various dimensions.

**Official Response from Brock Faucette:**

> Thanks so much for taking the time to review Sage Intacct. I'll take your feedback about the learning curve to our product team to see if there are new and innovative ways we can improve/accelerate onboarding. Please let us know if you ever need anything else!

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

What I like best about Sage Intacct is its ability to provide real-time financial reporting and customizable dashboards that help support informed decision-making. As a nonprofit finance leader, I also appreciate its strong fund accounting capabilities, flexibility, and the ability to streamline financial processes while maintaining strong internal controls.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

While Sage Intacct is a powerful system, some processes still require multiple steps and can be more complex than expected for end users. There is also an opportunity to make certain workflows more intuitive and improve the user experience for staff who are not finance professionals.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sage Intacct has improved our ability to access timely, reliable financial information and produce meaningful reports for leadership and the Board. It has strengthened our internal controls, streamlined financial processes, and reduced the time spent on manual reporting, allowing the finance team to focus more on strategic planning and decision-making.

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

Custom financial reports, dashboards, and drill-down capabilities save significant time. I can report by department, location, project, or fund without creating thousands of GL accounts. I find our GL has simplified after implementation.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

Reporting has a learning curve. Some reporting capabilities have required we pay an outside consultant to write for us. The largest complaint we have about Sage Intacct is the customer service model. Calling a 800 line and waiting in queue to speak to a representative that does not know me or my business is not ideal in the line of business we are in. Sage Intacct could learn from their peers and other 3rd parties here.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automated dashboards have eliminated spreadsheets outside the Business Office which has made department collaboration highly improved.

Reduced close time by automating recurring entries, allocations, consolidations, and reconciliations.

**Official Response from Sammi Zhao:**

> Thank you for this thoughtful review — it's great to hear that custom financial reports, automated dashboards, and drill-down capabilities have genuinely simplified your GL and improved collaboration across your Business Office. Reducing close time through automated recurring entries, allocations, and reconciliations is exactly the kind of impact Sage Intacct is built to deliver, and it sounds like your team is seeing real, measurable results. We also hear you clearly on the areas that haven't met expectations. The reporting learning curve and the cost of bringing in outside consultants for certain configurations is feedback we want to make sure reaches the right people internally. Your comments about the customer service model are equally important — you deserve support that feels familiar and responsive to your specific business, and we understand that a queue-based experience falls short of that. Please don't hesitate to reach out to your partner or our support team directly so we can work toward a better experience for you.

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

Sage Intacct just works. There does not seem to be a need for workarounds or additional steps just to get something accomplished. And the best part is that everything can be reversed, adjusted, or modified as needed. The dashboards are great and the reporting is fantastic, with the ability to copy and modify reports when needed. Drag and drop is great, although I wish Chrome would allow drag and drops from Outlook, but the desktop works fine.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

No real items that I dislike. Sage seems to continue refining the product which is great.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to have Business users versus Employees allows managers/supervisors to input their own Purchase Orders, see dashboards, etc... and that helps take a lot of work off of our shoulders. The purchasing flow is great, with approvals. We don't use the Warehousing module yet.

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

I like Sage Intacct's ease of use and its smart ability to create the right dashboards and reports we need for accounting. The system is pretty user-friendly, and I feel it's very insightful for getting detailed information. Setting up a chain of command is instrumental and easy, and uploading large amounts of information into journal entries or bills is fantastic. Its smooth interface and powerful features are standout aspects for me. Plus, the support team has been great, with a knowledgeable representative who helps us out. Overall, it saves time and provides value through its auditable system and framework.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

Maybe just the speed at times, but it's a lot of information, so that's not really Sage Intacct's fault. Other than that, nothing doesn't work well. I have all the info I need, and it's a good accounting software tool.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sage Intacct streamlines accounting, smartly creates the dashboards and reports we need, keeps track of AP and AR, saves time, and provides an auditable system.

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

The user interface is easy to navigate, and we found it especially helpful when onboarding new starters. Performance has been strong across all the modules we’ve integrated so far, and overall it’s been a big upgrade from our previous Sage product. It handles multi-currency and multi-entity consolidations quickly and efficiently.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

Customer support used to be a major strength of Sage Intacct, but for us it has been really poor over the past three months. It’s been difficult to get hold of anyone who can actually help with a specific issue we’ve had.

The AI integration with Co-Pilot is, frankly, dreadful and feels like a waste of money. Simple use cases aren’t supported and I feel mislead about what could realistically be achieved with Co-Pilot when we signed up. Overall, the AI capability is weak. Want a usable integration with Claude to help automate workflows? Good luck getting that off the ground.

Renewal practices are also very poor. If you drop a product because of a poor user experience or because your use case isn’t supported, you’re penalised with a lower discount rate so Sage can recoup some of its loss. The relationship between discount periods and list price is poorly handled when signing up, resulting in unexpected cost increases of 35%.

As a result, we’re actively looking for a new system with better AI capabilities and more transparent pricing models.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps with out multi-entity multi currency consolidation well.

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

The best part of Sage Intacct is its usability. The system is intuitive, allowing users to quickly find the information they need and easily drill down into transactions to identify and resolve issues.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

One drawback of Sage Intacct is that many newer features are not included as part of the standard platform and require additional licensing or paid add-on modules. This can increase the overall cost as your organization's needs evolve.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sage Intacct centralizes our financial operations and provides real-time visibility into our business. It eliminates manual processes, reduces the time required for month-end close and financial reporting, and gives users the ability to drill down from summary financials to individual transactions in seconds. This improves accuracy, speeds decision-making, and enables the finance team to spend more time on analysis and strategic planning instead of compiling data.

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

Sage Intacct supports our learning process with a highly intuitive interface, helping new users get up to speed and become proficient with the system quickly. The pricing for Sage Intacct is well-aligned with the value provided. While it is a premium investment, the efficiency gains, robust automation, and advanced reporting capabilities offer a strong return on investment, making it well worth the cost for our organization's needs.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

The interface feels outdated, which makes navigation less intuitive and slows me down, especially in more complex workflows. On top of that, third-party integrations are cumbersome to set up and manage, and the reporting modules don’t offer the flexibility needed to accommodate unique business requirements.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sage Intacct has streamlined our financial reporting by automating what used to be manual reconciliations. As a result, we reduced our month-end close by 15 days and gained real-time visibility into our numbers, which helps our leadership team make faster, data-driven decisions.

**Official Response from Sammi Zhao:**

> Hi there, thank you so much for sharing such a detailed and thoughtful review — we genuinely appreciate it. It's fantastic to hear that Sage Intacct has helped automate your manual reconciliations, shaved 15 days off your month-end close, and given your leadership team the real-time visibility they need to make faster, data-driven decisions. We also appreciate your honest feedback about interface navigation and reporting flexibility, as that's not the experience we want for you. On the reporting side, we want to make sure you're aware of Sage Intacct's Custom Report Writer (CRW), which is designed to go beyond standard application reports — allowing you to build tailored reports using fields from nearly any record or transaction, customize them to match your specific business needs, and even add them to dashboards for quick access. At G2, we prefer fresh reviews and we like to follow up with reviewers. They may not have updated their review text, but have updated their review.

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

The interface makes everything easier. When we migrated to Sage, I was really worried I wouldn’t be able to understand how it works, but the layout and navigation made the transition much smoother. I could find what I needed quickly and move through the system with ease.

For reconciliations, it has improved the process a lot—especially for my accounts receivable reconciliations, which are usually a lot to manage. With a single journal entry, everything was cleared up, and matching bank transactions to the relevant accounts became much more straightforward.

It also integrates easily with JP Morgan bank and with Bill.com, including Spend and Expense and AP. I also appreciate that the reports I need are generated easily—literally just one click away. During setup, we were given practice accounts to review and learn from without the risk of making serious mistakes. Overall, I honestly believe moving to Sage Intacct was a good move for my company because it integrates well with almost all the applications we use.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

It has not yet been able to integrate smoothly with Dental inteligence which was recommended prior to migrating to Sage intacct. That the only complaint l really have with it.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before migrating to sage intacct l had to manually do Accounts Receivable reconciliations which was time consuming since they made up majority of my bank transactions. Now with sage l don't have to do them individuall l just have to upload one journal and everything will clear up. This has honestly time saving and have reduced my workload by a lot. I do get to download my reports quicker no matter how big the document is. I have not been using it for long but so far it does seem worth it.

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

What I like best about Sage Intacct is that it is user-friendly, well-organized, and makes managing financial information more efficient. The system provides clear and accessible information, helps streamline accounting processes, and makes it easier to stay organized and manage day-to-day financial tasks.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

One thing I dislike about Sage Intacct is that some processes still require a lot of manual work. Automating more tasks would help save time, reduce repetitive data entry, and make the overall process more efficient.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sage Intacct is not currently solving any specific problems for me. Overall, I find that it requires quite a bit of manual work, so I don’t see any significant benefits in terms of reducing workload or improving efficiency.

**Official Response from Sammi Zhao:**

> Thank you for sharing such honest and thoughtful feedback about your experience with Sage Intacct. It's great to hear that you find the platform user-friendly and well-organized — making day-to-day financial management clearer and more accessible is exactly what we aim for. That said, we completely understand the frustration of feeling like too many tasks still depend on manual effort. Reducing repetitive data entry and improving workflow efficiency are areas we take seriously, and feedback like yours genuinely helps inform where improvements are needed. We'd encourage you to reach out to our support team, who can walk you through any existing features or configuration options that might help lighten some of that manual load for you.

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

What I like most about Sage Intacct is its powerful, multi-dimensional general ledger. It provides deep financial visibility and makes reporting more streamlined, without requiring an overly complex chart of accounts. The automation of routine accounting workflows also cuts down on manual errors and speeds up month-end close, which makes it a reliable tool for strategic financial planning.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

The custom reporting tool is highly detailed and powerful, but it can feel frustratingly rigid when it comes to visual formatting and overall presentation layout. Getting financial statements to look exactly the way management prefers for direct presentations often takes a fair amount of trial and error, and we frequently end up exporting clean data sets to Excel to make the final formatting tweaks.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sage Intacct addresses the chaos of manual multi-entity consolidation by enabling automated financial workflows and clean dimensional mapping. This delivers a major strategic return on investment (Pricing / ROI) by shortening close cycles and improving resource allocation. Its advanced cloud infrastructure also handles high-volume transaction processing smoothly with zero downtime, removing the lag we used to experience with legacy desktop systems (Performance). The platform includes a robust API ecosystem that integrates seamlessly with our existing CRMs and payroll tech stacks, creating an audited, single source of financial truth (Integrations). That foundation is further strengthened by automated data-matching tools and smart anomaly tracking (AI / Intelligence). Although the structured setup process initially required dedicated support resources (Support / Onboarding), the end result is a centralized hub with highly structured, drill-down executive dashboards (UI / UX) that meaningfully improves our day-to-day corporate financial planning and analysis workflow.

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

Finance Intelligence Agent (AI-powered finance assistant)
Sage is expanding beyond simple automation into AI agents that can answer finance questions in natural language through Sage Copilot. Instead of building reports manually, finance teams can ask questions and get actionable insights directly from their data. This is one of the more interesting steps toward "autonomous finance."
Close Automation and Close Workspace
Month-end close remains a major pain point for finance organizations. Sage has been investing heavily in automated close management, including Close Workspace, Close Assistant, reconciliation assistance, and variance analysis. These tools provide visibility into bottlenecks and help shorten close cycles.
AI-Powered Reconciliation and Variance Analysis
Automated subledger reconciliation and AI-driven variance detection can reduce a significant amount of manual review work. Rather than simply flagging differences, the system helps users drill into causes faster.
Advanced Ownership Consolidation
For organizations with complex ownership structures, the new Equity Method functionality for consolidation is a meaningful enhancement. It automates accounting for partial ownership and multi-level entities, which historically required a lot of spreadsheet work.
Cash Flow Prediction Roadmap
Sage's roadmap includes predictive cash forecasting and payment optimization based on historical customer payment behavior. For CFOs and controllers, this could become one of the highest-value AI features if execution matches the vision.
AP Automation Becoming More End-to-End
The platform is increasingly automating invoice matching, purchasing workflows, classification, approvals, and payments. Rather than treating AP automation as a separate add-on process, Sage appears to be integrating it throughout the procure-to-pay lifecycle.
AI Trust Label
One feature that doesn't get as much attention is Sage's AI Trust Label. It gives customers visibility into how AI features use data, handle compliance, and manage bias and accuracy. As AI becomes more embedded in financial systems, transparency features like this will likely become increasingly important.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

1. More Flexible User Experience

While Sage Intacct is powerful, some users find the interface less intuitive than newer SaaS applications. Common requests include:

Fewer clicks for common tasks
More customizable dashboards
Better navigation between related records
Improved mobile experience for approvals and reporting
2. Native Planning and Forecasting

Many organizations still rely on separate planning tools for:

Budgeting
Forecasting
Scenario modeling
Workforce planning

A more deeply integrated, enterprise-grade planning experience inside Sage Intacct could reduce dependence on external tools and spreadsheets.

3. Stronger AI Explainability

Sage is investing heavily in AI, but finance teams need confidence in automated recommendations. Improvements could include:

Clear explanations of why an AI suggestion was made
Confidence scores
Audit trails for AI-generated outputs
Better visibility into data sources used by AI agents

This is particularly important for auditors, controllers, and CFOs.

4. Easier Multi-Entity and Global Operations

Intacct handles multi-entity accounting well, but large international organizations sometimes want:

More advanced intercompany automation
Broader localization support
More country-specific tax capabilities
Simplified global consolidations

This is an area where larger ERP suites sometimes have an advantage.

5. Reporting Flexibility

The dimensional reporting model is one of Intacct's strengths, but users occasionally ask for:

More self-service analytics
Easier report design
Richer visualizations
More drag-and-drop reporting capabilities
Simpler ad hoc analysis for non-finance users
6. Workflow Automation Across Departments

Finance workflows are increasingly connected to procurement, HR, CRM, and operations systems.

Opportunities include:

More no-code workflow automation
Easier cross-system orchestration
Better exception handling
More AI-driven process recommendations
7. Faster Implementations for Mid-Sized Companies

Compared with basic accounting software, Intacct implementations can require significant setup and consulting.

Potential improvements:

Industry-specific templates
Guided configuration
Automated chart-of-accounts setup
AI-assisted implementation recommendations
8. More Embedded Operational Analytics

Finance teams increasingly want answers such as:

Which customers are becoming less profitable?
Which projects are at risk?
Which vendors are causing cash flow issues?

Moving beyond financial reporting toward operational intelligence could create significant value.

9. Ecosystem Simplification

Intacct has a strong partner ecosystem, but customers sometimes need multiple third-party products for:

Expense management
Revenue recognition enhancements
Planning
Procurement
Advanced analytics

Reducing the number of required add-ons could improve the overall customer experience.

10. Continuous Accounting Vision

One area where the industry is heading is "continuous accounting":

Transactions classified automatically
Reconciliations running continuously
Variances identified in real time
Month-end close becoming almost invisible

Sage has started moving in this direction with recent AI and close-management features, but there is still substantial opportunity to push further.

Overall, if I had to prioritize three areas with the biggest potential impact, they would be:

AI explainability and trust,
More powerful planning/forecasting capabilities,
Simpler and more modern user experience.

Those improvements would benefit both finance teams and business users while helping Sage Intacct compete more effectively against platforms like Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance, and Workday Financial Management.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sage Intacct helps us to solve accounting issues and records the accounting information of clients. It presents the data in a simple and understandable way. Very easy to operate. User friendly. Not many complications in using the application. It saves time in preparing reports. The application itself prepares reports as we enter the data. There is not much complication in navigation for extracting reports.

**Official Response from Gill Symington:**

> Thank you for your review Samruddi. We're pleased to hear that Sage Intacct is user-friendly and saves you time in preparing reports. **What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

Sage Intacct is great for keeping track of orders and the timeline of each one so it's easy to find the order in the system and therefore physically in the building.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

I dislike how many windows are needed to perform one action. Plus the different windows all look very similar. It felt like a maze when I was first learning all the systems. I had to really focus on what I was doing because if I miss a step the order is all messed up. For example, to process a Return Exchange, we need to go through the Shipper window and convert to Website Sales Exchange then on to Return Exchange Replace. A process that has a lot of room for error.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sage Intacct is great for keeping track of our tracking numbers and giving us a way to keep track of Internal Notes for individual orders. I also love that I can search for a Tracking Number alone and find the order that way as well.

**Official Response from Sammi Zhao:**

> Hi there, thank you for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful review — it's great to hear that Sage Intacct is making it easy to track orders, timelines, and tracking numbers, and that features like Internal Notes and tracking number search are genuinely useful for your team's day-to-day work. That said, we really hear you on the navigation challenges, especially when working through multi-step processes like the Return Exchange workflow — having to move through several similar-looking windows is the kind of friction we want to help reduce, and this isn't the experience we want for you. To help us look into it further, please respond to this message and let us know who's providing your support, whether that's directly from us or through one of our partners — that'll help us take the right next step. **What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

The upside of using Sage is the General Ledger and how easy it is to locate items. I also like that you have the ability to create a dashboard to display specific reports for departments or your own personal tasks.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

There are times when trying to find more info on a transaction or payment and you click into links that take you to more links that just bring you back to the bill. I would love to see more clearly when something is synced over from a different system what date and time it was synced. Also being able to add a credit to the vendor profile instead of making an overpayment on an invoice. Lastly, the new update does not provide the same description details when doing the bank rec as before so it becomes more difficult to match transactions.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sage is solving the problem of having multiple platforms for a General Ledger and bill payments. This keeps everything in one place.

**Official Response from Sammi Zhao:**

> Hi there, thank you for taking the time to share such a thorough and thoughtful review! We're really glad to hear that the General Ledger navigation and the ability to create custom dashboards for departments and personal tasks have been highlights for you—keeping financials centralized in one place is exactly what we aim for. We genuinely appreciate your candid feedback on the areas you'd like to see improved, including clearer sync timestamps, the transaction link navigation, and the bank rec description changes with the latest update—all of that is valuable input. On the vendor credit front, there's actually a way to handle this without going through an overpayment: by creating a debit memo adjustment in Accounts Payable, Sage Intacct generates a vendor credit that you can then apply directly to a bill on the Pay Bills page, no overpayment needed. The step-by-step walkthrough is available here: https://www.intacct.com/ia/docs/en_US/help_action/Accounts_Payable/Adjustments/ap-adjustments-create.htm. Thanks again for helping us get better—we truly value feedback like yours.

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

Automation has been a big upgrade for our accounting close. Prior to having Sage we had many manual processes that needed to be done but now with Sage, it's effortless and a lot of time has been saved by improving our workflow.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

We were able to get AP processing to work which initially took a few months to get the ball rolling.. however, once this was all set up, we've seen accuracy and speed improvement in processing AP.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's automating a lot of manual processes that we use to spend a lot of manual time one for example, bank reconciliations. We're benefiting from this with having more time to focus on reports and analyzing the data rather than insuring the data is correct.

**Official Response from Bethany McDermott:**

> Hi Ailama,

Thank you for sharing your experience with Sage Intacct. We appreciate your positive feedback on the integration capabilities. We apologize for any inconvenience you've experienced with AP processing and are looking to make improvements in this area. Your input helps us to prioritize our efforts for a better user experience.

Thanks,

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

UI is easy to use and self explanatory. Does not require too much training. It performs much faster than other ERP systems. The integrations with external products are incredibly useful. The templates and user guides are very helpful and well as the community function. It is a fair price point for what the product provides and the use of AI is massively important as we use it for AP processes.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

Troubleshooting can be difficult. The Co-pilot function next to the search bar isn’t very helpful, based on my own experience using it. It would be immensely helpful to be able to amend department categories in bulk, especially when you’re trying to rectify problems left by prior users. Static data that won’t affect P&Ls and balance sheets should be changeable as well. For example, if a location code has been used incorrectly for a year, the ability to update them all to the correct one would be great.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It can handle much larger volumes than our previous system, which is very helpful. We also have much more control than before.

**Official Response from Sammi Zhao:**

> Hearing that the UI has clicked quickly for your team, that the speed improvement over your previous system has been meaningful, and that the AI-driven AP processes are genuinely useful — that's exactly what we aim for. We also appreciate the kind words about the integrations, user guides, and the community. Your frustrations around bulk-editing department categories and being unable to retroactively correct static data like location codes are completely understandable; those kinds of legacy clean-up scenarios can be genuinely painful, and we want you to know that feedback like yours helps shape where the product goes next. On the troubleshooting and Co-pilot experience, we'd encourage you to connect with our support team — they can work through specific scenarios with you and make sure your input on the Co-pilot gets to the right people.

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

You can customize pretty much everything, which helps the software work the way our business needs it to. We rely on a lot of smart rules to link data together, and that flexibility makes a big difference in day-to-day workflows. There are also a ton of integrations available. For example, we integrate Ramp for AP and Ripping for payroll. Lastly, the intercompany accounting is great: we can pay bills from any entity, and the intercompany engine handles the work of allocating expenses to the correct entity, regardless of where the bills are paid.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

The fixed asset module is not internally developed, and it feels clunky and not very intuitive. We are in the real estate business and have a lot of fixed assets, and we’ve struggled to find solutions that work well for our workflow. They also seem slow to roll out new features. I understand they are working on a new, internally developed fixed asset platform that will be fully integrated with the Sage workflow, but it hasn’t been rolled out yet, and I believe it has been well over a year—possibly two.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sage uses AI for bill coding, which is great. We can also build a ton of custom reports for analysis, and that has been very helpful.

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

I think the functionality of being able to link things together digitally is excellent compared to alternative Sage products. The ability to easily navigate to invoices from link to link, and to amend journals, etc., rather than having to manually reverse and submit again, is a big plus. I also love that it isn’t clunky and that it’s clean, straightforward software to use.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

Because it’s so digital, it can feel a little complex at times to learn where to go to achieve what you need. There are also a few extra layers to certain steps, which can make it a bit difficult to get your head around at first.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to have all entities under one programme is great. Since we work with so many, it makes it much easier than constantly flicking between them. It’s also really helpful at flagging when you’re about to post something incorrectly.

**Official Response from Sammi Zhao:**

> Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful and detailed perspective — it genuinely means a lot to hear! The digital linking capability you highlighted, being able to move fluidly between invoices and amend journals without the manual reversal process, is something the team has put real care into, so it's great to know it's landing well in practice. It's equally rewarding to hear that managing multiple entities in one place is making your day-to-day that much smoother, and that the built-in posting safeguards are proving their worth. We understand that with a feature-rich platform there can be a bit of a discovery phase when it comes to finding the most efficient path to what you need, and we appreciate you sticking with it. **What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

What I find most helpful is being able to manage multiple companies within one system and run reports across all of them. The onboarding process was also extremely easy.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

It’s a bit more expensive than other software. There’s definitely a learning curve, but it’s worth it in the end.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our financial processes were manual and time-consuming, and we relied too heavily on spreadsheets and repetitive data entry. We also lacked real-time visibility into our financials.

This solution automates accounts payable, accounts receivable, the general ledger, and reconciliations. It reduces our dependency on spreadsheets and cuts down on manual data entry. It also provides real-time dashboards, KPIs, and reporting, which helps us make decisions faster and with more confidence.

**Official Response from Sammi Zhao:**

> Hello there, what a title — "The Backbone of Our Finance Transformation" really does say it all! It's genuinely exciting to hear how Sage Intacct has helped you move away from manual, spreadsheet-heavy processes and into a world of automated AP, AR, reconciliations, and real-time financial visibility. The ability to manage multiple companies in one system and pull consolidated reporting across all of them is one of those capabilities that can truly change how a finance team operates — and it sounds like you're feeling that impact firsthand. With the kind of results you've described, from faster decisions to reduced data entry, you're exactly the kind of customer whose story could inspire others on a similar journey. If you're open to it, we'd love to invite you to join our Sage Champions community, where customers connect, share experiences, and help others see what's possible — through reviews, events, and success spotlights. **What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

I like that Sage Intacct is web-based and can be used anytime from anywhere without the need to log into a proper server. It's very easy to use, flexible, and runs smoothly with minimal requirements, which is great for my team. The software really simplifies the process of accounting and reporting, and setting up reporting is very easy and very useful for creating customized reports and dashboards. It also supports multi-currency, which is a huge help for my global team, allowing them to work effectively across the globe.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

We have a long list of intercompany setups, and it doesn't work effectively for us. Also, when updates are brought into the system, it sometimes takes many hours, like three to four hours, which hampers productivity for our team working in India and other offshore areas. So, this time-taking activity creates issues for us sometimes.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Sage Intacct for accounting and reporting. It simplifies processes, supports multi-currency, and is easy to use with minimal coaching. Its web-based nature allows global access without a server. The reporting setup is straightforward, helping with customized reports and dashboards.

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

What I love most about Sage Intacct is that it frees me from manual data entry and lets me focus on strategic analysis. The multi-dimensional general ledger is a game-changer; instead of managing a bloated chart of accounts, I can easily tag and slice data by project, vendor, or department with a few clicks. For multi-entity management, it completely eliminates the month-end spreadsheet shuffle by automating intercompany transactions and providing a consolidated view instantly. The embedded AI also gives me huge peace of mind by catching ledger anomalies early and allowing for a continuous "soft close" rather than a brutal month-end crunch. Finally, its open API seamlessly connects with our existing stack like Salesforce and Ramp, keeping all of our financial and operational data unified in one reliable source of truth.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

While I appreciate Sage Intacct, there are definitely things that frustrate me. The initial setup and learning curve are incredibly steep; it takes a long time to get comfortable navigating the system unless you are already an expert. The custom report builder is also way too complex and rigid. Trying to create a specific layout feels like a chore, and exporting to Excel removes all the active formulas, leaving me to manually rebuild them. I also dislike the pricing model for add-on features. Essential capabilities like budgeting, advanced inventory management, or credit card processing aren't always native and require expensive add-on modules or third-party integrations. Lastly, the user interface can sometimes feel a bit dated, requiring way too many clicks just to complete a standard, everyday task.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using Sage Intacct, our biggest problems were data silos, constant manual entry, and a chaotic month-end close driven by disconnected spreadsheets. Sage Intacct solves this by centralizing all of our financial operations into a single, automated cloud environment. It eliminates the problem of a bloated chart of accounts through its dimensional tagging, which saves me hours of manual data manipulation. It also fixes the massive headache of manual multi-entity consolidation by automating intercompany transactions and currency conversions natively. For me, the direct benefit is an incredible amount of saved time and reduced stress. I no longer have to chase down data or worry about human errors in broken spreadsheets. Because the software handles the tedious data-entry grind and catches anomalies automatically, I can deliver real-time financial insights to leadership instantly. It ultimately shifts my role from a reactive data-handler to a proactive strategic partner.

**Official Response from Sammi Zhao:**

> Hi there, what a detailed and thoughtful review — thank you for taking the time to share it. It's genuinely great to hear how the multi-dimensional general ledger and automated intercompany consolidation have shifted your role from reactive data-handler to strategic partner, and knowing that the embedded AI and open API are delivering real peace of mind makes this feedback especially meaningful. That said, we hear you on the frustrations — a steep initial learning curve, a report builder that can feel rigid, losing active formulas on Excel export, and the cost of add-on capabilities are all fair and important points, and this isn't the experience we want for you. To help us look into this properly, please respond to this message and let us know who's providing your support — whether that's directly from us or through one of our partners — so we can make sure the right team is working with you. Thanks again for such candid and well-rounded feedback; it genuinely helps us improve.

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

Reporting capabilities are leaps ahead of the prior software we were using. the capability of creating custom dimensions and the project/grant module have streamlined so much of the work our non-profit was doing manually prior to the switch.

the interface takes some getting used to for anything beyond basic AP/AR/cash management, but once you are comfortable with the menus, it really opens a lot of possibilities, specially with custom reporting and dashboards.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

I understand that the point of this software is to skip the use of excel, but we live in a world ruled by the worksheet and intacct lacks direct integration with microsoft excel unfortunately. and every report you download in excel form is not formatted correctly so excel believes it's a website and will try to save it as such.

additionally, not having basic fields like account name readily available on the general ledger as a field to be included on every line in an excel document means that General ledger downloads are really limited to CSV. if the report does not come out of intacct exactly as needed, then there is a lot of formatting that is required still.

Additionally, the dashboards lack a really print-friendly format, if your exces require dashboards but refuse to use the portal and want PDF/printed dashboards, it makes it really difficult to find the right formatting

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

reporting, allocations of grants is a breeze if you set up the system correctly. it's still lacking a lot of sophistication in the AP approcals and payment approvals. the workflows are clunky.

**Official Response from Sammi Zhao:**

> Hi there, what a thoughtful and thorough breakdown — thank you for taking the time to share it. It's genuinely great to hear that the reporting capabilities, custom dimensions, and the project/grant module have made such a meaningful difference for your non-profit. Those are exactly the kinds of gains we love to hear about. That said, we hear you on the frustrations — the Excel export behavior, the field limitations in GL downloads, the dashboard formatting challenges for print/PDF, and the clunkiness in AP approval workflows are all real pain points, and this isn't the experience we want for you. To make sure the right people can look into these, please respond to this message and let us know who's supporting you — whether that's directly from us or through one of our partners — so we can take the right next steps. We really appreciate feedback like this; it helps us keep improving.

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

Sage intacct UI is one of the best, it easy to work with and easy to interact with. Also the seamless updates that they do are exceptional. third is their integration capability with other systems, with their open API its easier to do integration with most of third party systems. Also the inbuilt AI with the sage Intacct is the best, the power of asking question and getting replies on how to do tasks is the best.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

One of the main pain points is handling foreign currency revaluations. The system lacks the capability to perform automatic revaluations for foreign bank accounts, which reduces its overall performance and efficiency in this area. Also, the pricing is too hefty, especially for companies on the African continent that use multi currency.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used to have a system hosted on a local server, which meant we could only work from one site, and doing regular backups was very stressful. With a locally hosted server, it would crash often and we ended up losing data many times. Since introducing Sage Intacct, we’re now stress-free when it comes to backups, and we can do our work anytime and anywhere.

**Official Response from Sammi Zhao:**

> Hi there, what a title to put on a review — thank you! It's genuinely great to read how much Sage Intacct has changed day-to-day life for your team, from leaving behind the stress of a crash-prone local server to working freely from anywhere with confidence in your data. Your points about the UI, the seamless updates, and the open API integrations really reflect what we work hard to deliver, and knowing the built-in AI is landing well means a lot. We also hear your thoughts on foreign currency revaluation and pricing for multi-currency users on the African continent — that's meaningful feedback, and we'll make sure it gets to the right people internally. With the depth of experience and perspective you clearly bring, you'd be a wonderful fit for our Sage Champions community, where customers like you connect with peers, share their stories, and help others see what's possible with Sage Intacct. We'd love to have you if you're interested — and regardless, thank you sincerely for such a thoughtful and detailed review.

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

Sage university offers a lot of training and education, even as a first-time user with little training it was easy to learn, understand and get started.
The interface is easy to use and not all jumbled and cluttered. The pages load fast and my edits are reflected quite fast. The ai offered makes automation easier to use and understand. For what it offers the price is good and you definitely get a good bang for your buck. I havent used any integrations as yet however when I become a bit more comfortable I will definitely implement it in my workflows as it also looks easy to use

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

For me its personal, I would like to be able to customize my workpages more and add more personality, however i acknowledge that this does not really affect the actual use of the product

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sage makes our billing processes easier and helps streamline our financials. It definitely saved us a lot of time especially during audit periods. It makes our financials easier to understand at a glance due to the dashboards feature. Also exporting to excel has never been easier and the format it arrives in is already mostly clean.

  ### 42. Intuitive, Easy-to-Learn Tool with a Clean, Simple Design

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

Sage Intacct has significantly improved our month-end close process through automation and detailed reporting. I particularly appreciate the ability to drill down into transactions, create custom reports, and access accurate financial data quickly. Its cloud-based platform also makes collaboration much easier.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

While Sage Intacct is a powerful accounting platform, some processes can feel more complex than necessary, particularly when setting up custom reports or workflows. New users may face a steeper learning curve compared to simpler accounting systems, and certain customizations often require additional training or support. The reporting functionality is comprehensive, but it can take time to understand all the available options. Additionally, the cost may be challenging for smaller businesses, especially when adding extra modules or users.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sage Intacct helps us solve challenges related to financial reporting, manual accounting processes, and visibility into company performance. By automating routine tasks such as consolidations, reconciliations, and reporting, it reduces the time spent on manual work and minimizes errors. The real-time dashboards and customizable reports give us quicker access to accurate financial data, allowing management to make more informed decisions. This has improved efficiency within the finance team and helped streamline our month-end close process.

**Official Response from Sammi Zhao:**

> Hi there, what a thoughtful review — thank you for taking the time to share it! It's really great to hear how Sage Intacct has helped streamline your month-end close and reduce the time spent on manual work, and your point about gaining quicker access to accurate financial data to support better management decisions really stood out to us. On the learning curve you mentioned around custom reports and workflows, our training resources and in-product help can go a long way in getting new users up to speed more quickly. Customers who've experienced this kind of impact across their finance teams are exactly who our Sage Champions community was built for — if you'd like to connect with peers and share your story, we'd love to have you involved. Thanks again for your support!

  ### 43. Easy to Use and Customizable, but Customer Support Needs Improvement

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

The ease of the system and capabilities to set view preferences

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

The customer support is lacking. You shouldn't have to log in to a system to submit a case and to see the last communications. Additionally, 90% of the time they try to pon you off on the technical team that charges $250/hour and most of the requests are basic, should be standard within any accounting system. Also, once in an agreement, and at renewal, they are sticklers about removing things you had never used. Last, they continue to cancel partnerships and make the customer convert to a new partner which is a headache, creates more work and at times its more costly.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None that I am aware of

  ### 44. AI Invoice Uploading and an Easy UI Make Sage Intacct a Win

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

My favorite features of Sage Intacct are the AI invoice uploading feature and access to Sage Community. I like that uploading invoices via AI removes a lot of the data entry piece, and Community is helpful for when I have to assist members of my organization with support tickets. The software performs very well, and the overall user interface is easy to understand, even for a lay person without accounting knowledge. We have multiple departments across the organization that must use the software, so I especially appreciate the accessibility and functionality of the software.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

The error messages aren't the most helpful. I would prefer there be a more drilled down explanation of certain errors, perhaps with links to resources within Community explaining them.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have trimmed a lot of time out of our AP data entry as it relates to invoice entry thanks to AI. We are also in the process of using some of the reporting and dashboard features to enable outside departments to access their financial data in real time. These are functions that wouldn't have been possible using our previous software.

  ### 45. Powerful Automation, Great Visibility, and Easy Navigation

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

It has so much capability and automation, which is fantastic given we were in Sage50 before, which is limited in functionality. It will give us greater control and visibility, which is vital. It has really good integration across the platform and with our other softwares. The user interface is really easy tp use and navigate. The support and onboarding has been tough but really good, we have had a lot of support from our implementation partner (Baker Tilly), which has been massively valuable. The pricing is actually very reasonable too and comparable with other similar products, which means out ROI is great.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

It is a hell of a lot of work to get it implemented and embedded, which takes an enormous amount of headspace. It is also odd that there isn't a direct automated way of taking data out of Sage50 into Intacct as they are both Sage products. That could certainly do with being improved.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Day to day performance is so much faster than it previously was. The team can move through day to day transactions in a much quicker way that in Sage 50. The inbuild AI and intelligence is really helpful and leads to a quicker resolution to problems than previously.

At G2, we prefer fresh reviews and we like to follow up with reviewers. They may not have updated their review text, but have updated their review.

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

The complexities of Sage never cease to amaze us at this organization. It's possible that our adoption was too ambitious, with a small team of three in finance. The upkeep required to maximize the potential of the product across the organization is so great that we have not been able to implement fully three years in. It is an incredibly powerful software best suited for mid-size to larger organizations.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

User experience and integration of elements across modules is still greatly challenging. The way Sage requires upkeep of at least four separate elements to interconnect and perform any process is maddening. For such a large and expensive product, the customization is incredibly vast but comes at the cost of efficiency of use. Mistaken modification of any element breaks other parts of the user experience. I am not keen to trust a product that requires professional intervention any time a change is required. We have gotten by largely self-sufficiently, but not without great challenge.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sage is giving a new rich approach to fund accounting. Having insight to budgetary implications in real time is invaluable. Streamlining our AP process is also very valuable

  ### 47. AI-Powered Multi-Entity Consolidation That Speeds Up Decision-Making for Non-Profits

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

We value Sage Intacct’s ability to consolidate financial data across multiple entities, giving us a clear, organization-wide view and more actionable insights. The newer AI capabilities have also been a game changer, helping us work more efficiently and make informed decisions more quickly.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

Some processes can feel overly complex and require significant setup or customization. Reporting and system configuration are not always intuitive, and accessing certain features often requires additional modules or costs. Customer support can also be inconsistent when resolving more technical issues.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sage Intacct helps us manage financial data across multiple entities, countries, programs, and funding sources within one system. It improves reporting accuracy and visibility, reduces reliance on manual spreadsheets, and allows us to monitor budgets, expenses, and financial performance more efficiently. This gives leadership timely, reliable information for decision making while strengthening our financial controls and audit readiness.

**Official Response from Sammi Zhao:**

> Hi there! Thank you for sharing such a detailed and thoughtful review. It's genuinely great to hear how Sage Intacct is supporting your organization across multiple entities, countries, programs, and funding sources — and that the AI capabilities are helping your team move faster and make more informed decisions. We're especially glad it's strengthening your financial controls and audit readiness; that matters a great deal for non-profits. **What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

What I like best about Sage Intacct is its user-friendly interface, powerful reporting capabilities, and real-time financial visibility. It helps streamline processes, reduce manual work, and make faster, more informed business decisions.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

The main area for improvement is that some features can take time to learn, especially when creating customized reports or navigating more advanced functions. A more intuitive setup process and additional built-in guidance would make the user experience even better.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sage Intacct is helping us streamline financial processes, reduce manual work, and improve the accuracy and visibility of our financial data. Its reporting and automation capabilities allow us to save time, monitor performance more effectively, and make faster, better-informed business decisions.

**Official Response from Sammi Zhao:**

> Hi there, we really appreciate you taking the time to leave such a thoughtful and detailed review! It's especially great to hear how Sage Intacct is helping you streamline financial processes, reduce manual work, and improve visibility across your organization—your comment about being able to "make faster, more informed business decisions" really stood out to us. **What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

To be honest I am only passive towards Sage - saying what I like best about it would give off the impression I really enjoy a certain aspect of it, which is not the case.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

I think the filtering in Sage needs work. for example if I want to search for a specific GL account, I can only start from the beginning, I cannot type in a word in the GL account name. Additionally when a GL account has no activity for the year even if it started/ended with the same balance, the GL export just doesn't include this account. Why would I want a GL export with accounts missing, even if there is no activity in the year? it doesn't make sense. I also get logged out if I stay away from my computer for a bit of time. The GL filtering I mentioned above is also the same when I want to look up entities - I have to look it up from the beginning otherwise it will not work.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a large platform than quickbooks and allows us to quickly view all of our entity data

**Official Response from Sammi Zhao:**

> Hi there, your candor here is genuinely appreciated, and this kind of specific feedback is exactly what helps us improve. We're glad to hear that Sage Intacct's multi-entity capabilities are giving you a broader view of your data than you had with QuickBooks — that's exactly the kind of visibility the platform is built to provide. That said, we completely understand your frustration with the GL and entity filtering experience, the export omitting accounts with no activity for the year, and the session interruptions when you step away — these are real pain points, and they're not the experience we want you to have. On the logout front, you can adjust your inactivity duration threshold directly in your personal preferences, which may help take some of the sting out of that specific issue. For the filtering and export concerns, we'd really like to look into things further — please respond here and let us know who's providing your support, whether that's directly from us or through one of our partners, and we'll take the right next step from there. Thanks again for sharing this so thoughtfully.

**What do you like best about Sage Intacct?**

I like how Sage Intacct allows for a certain level of customization from the ground up, particularly with detailed integrated data points such as managing different dimensions and reporting structures. The seamless consolidation of our entities is impressive. It also offers really clear and defined controls within each of our operating cycles, like revenue and expense management, as well as invoicing and purchase orders.

**What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?**

I think there are certain add-on modules within Sage Intacct that could require improvement, such as the prepaid module and the fixed asset module. Even though they are detailed for entering and processing items, they sometimes can't withstand the volume of accounts, additions, or adjustments. It could use fewer clicks and ways to pull in additions automatically or make the right adjustments.

**What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I handle accounting workflows with Sage Intacct, which simplifies processes like month-end close and expense management. It provides clear controls, customizes dimensions, and consolidates entities for our multi-entity organization.

**Official Response from Sammi Zhao:**

> Hi there, thank you for such a detailed and thoughtful write-up — this kind of feedback really means a lot to us! It's wonderful to hear how Sage Intacct is supporting your multi-entity organization, particularly around seamless entity consolidation and the flexibility of your dimensions and reporting structures. Your comment about having "clear and defined controls within each of your operating cycles" really stood out — that's exactly what we aim to deliver. We hear your feedback on the prepaid and fixed asset modules and appreciate you sharing where you'd like to see improvement; that's valuable input for our teams. Customers with your depth of experience are exactly who our Sage Champions community was built for — a program where finance professionals share insights, contribute to product conversations, and connect with peers. If you're open to it, we'd love to have you involved. Thanks again for being such a thoughtful advocate for what works — and for being candid about what could be better.
