Most recently the folks at Bakerfield Solutions updated a workbook for me which contains VBA code for automation. I have used the workbook with the old Essbase Legacy Spreadsheet Add-in for years; however, when I converted the macros to run with the Smart View Add-in; it was simply too slow and could not be used. In less than one day; they had updated the workbook so that in runs in less than two minutes; whereas prior to their enhancement, it would not even run.
About one year ago the staff at Bakerfield Solutions, provided assistance that I needed in updating my Oracle EPM product. In addition, they added new functionality to their Smart View Toolkit ribbon that the freely distribute. Their Smart View Toolkit is an extremely useful Ribbon for Excel, if you are an Essbase and/or HFM user. They added the functionality so that Essbase users now has the option for a range refresh and/or a range submit; which is a very useful. Their Excel Ribbon offers many other features such as the ability to easily specify the options when analyzing data; along with enabling a user to go from a function based HFM query to an HFM Ad Hoc query by merely clicking a button. The bottom line is: If you use Smart View, you will want to contact Bakerfield Solutions and request their Smart View Toolkit for Excel; and if you need any assistance, give them a call.
