Long time user, from free to paid, and love it! **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Jason H. | Digital Sales Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2025 **What do you like best about RoadWarrior?** I've used Roadwarrior practically everyday for a number of different positions, from coordinating graphic locations at multiple banks, signage surveys, and in my current position as sales. I like that I can load 200 different stops, code them with icons and colors for on the fly info, and set my first stop to begin my day from. It automatically sets my best route and as a sales person, can help me see 10 to 15 customers a day, taking the guesswork out of where to go next. Customer Support is very helpful and fast to reply when you have questions. **What do you dislike about RoadWarrior?** The most frustrating thing is the bulk route uploading system. Unless I am doing something wrong (which I admit is possible), the form I use requires you to separate the address number from the street address. It seems like not a big deal, but I have thousands of customers, and that takes a while to set up. I also don't like that routes go away on their own if you don't use them for a while, and you have to reactivate them. A nice feature would also be to reset the route, say if you visit 75% of your stops and want to reset the route, I haven't found a easy way to do that. **What problems is RoadWarrior solving and how is that benefiting you?** When I started at my new position, I learned they were using Google Maps for their route planning with Pins. What makes RoadWarrior different is that after my first planned stop for the day, I don't even think about where I go next, I follow the route, and it forces me to go places I may have skipped for no good reason. Sometimes it's cold calls that I don't want to do, or problem customers I'd rather avoid, but what's important is that I'm in the area and they are next on the list, and I go anyway. When our drivers have to go out with a lot of deliveries it really helps them get their deliveries done in a timely fashion. We also utilize extra help for Valentines Day and Mothers Day and I love that I can make the route for a driver and send it to their phone. I also have found a way to import addresses right into RoadWarrior to be able to make the trip even faster. **What do you dislike about RoadWarrior?** I wish the billing cycle wasn't the 15th of the month. The optimization feature provides me with the best route for seeing all of my customers in the most time efficient manner, which is important to me as a salesperson. I am glad to have the ability to override the route as well and manipulate the route to meet my customers time-specific needs. Overall, it is a simplistic tool to use for route planning, and having the App on my phone makes it even easier to use with my Apple Carplay while i am actually out in the field. My team loves the ability to see where i am and when as well. **What do you dislike about RoadWarrior?** Roadwarrior could use a few improvements to make processes easier for sales people. For example, my routes often spread over the course of more than one day. I wish there were an option to check my last "stop" for the day as my hotel and make it an overnight. Currently, i have to calculate roughly how many minutes I will be at my hotel, up to 999, to try and arrange the following day's stops. It can be a bit time consuming of a feature. **What problems is RoadWarrior solving and how is that benefiting you?** Road Warrior helps me optimize the route i take and the order that is most time efficent for me to visit my customers. Once we found Road Warrior, it gave us exactly what we needed! It allows us to create multiple stops and see how long each route will take. Creating a "return" route is also very easy. **What do you dislike about RoadWarrior?** The time of the route is always subject to change since Road Warrior likes to create optimal routes. Sometimes it goes the most ridiculous ways though and I don't know how accurate it is. We've also had issues with the software itself that we try to work with the support team to fix. **What problems is RoadWarrior solving and how is that benefiting you?** They are quick to respond when assistance is needed. Not sure the problem is always easy to explain over email and there is no phone number to call. There is the option to schedule a video call but it's not primarily designed for that purpose. After checkin the marker change color and save the date AND time. you can choose your favorite navi in a very easy way. Very good mail-support. Roadwarrior is afer a short training very easy to use and so driver use it freuquently It was easy to implement in our business. The adminportal is ease to use and easy to integrate an assign routes to driver. Change driver in a route is easy too. **What do you dislike about RoadWarrior?** In Flex Version. if a driver set in his route a favorite, then all drivers can see this favorites, and a driver cannot delete favorites. You can not change language to german version. Upload new routes with my own excel is not so nice because you have to create my adresses in my excel in a Roadwarrior template designed excel. (i.e. you have to change the headernames) it would be much better you can upload each excel you want and in uploading process you get a question how you want assign your column to roadwarrior columns. It's also great when you're visiting somewhere you aren't familiar with, simply put in hte places you want to visit and the app will create the best route for you. I have a script that formats the address list into their import xlsx format and it saves hours each week from manually entering each address. I also end up having to go to new construction or vacant lots that don't yet have addresses, so the ability to enter in latitude and longitude, as well as direct the navigation to use the cordinates is vital for my purposes. I've been using the software for several years and it has been a great tool. It just works and I haven't experienced technical difficulties or ever needed to contact their support. **What do you dislike about RoadWarrior?** The only gripe I have is they are hyper aggressive about single log in. So when planning a day out I often switch between PC and phone and having to log in each time I switch devices in the organization stage is annoying. Just allowing 2 simultaneously active logins would solve this while still preventing large scale credential sharing. **What problems is RoadWarrior solving and how is that benefiting you?** It allows for programatic input of up to 250 (I think, my most in a single day is typically less than 100) addresses and provides route optimization. It allows you to set the first and final which is helpful when you have specific appointments within the day. I can select different ways to route the drivers, whether it's based on point to point or round trip, and configure the stops based on receiving windows of time. **What do you dislike about RoadWarrior?** When using the navigation through Google Maps, sometimes the GPS coordinates don't match the physical location. If the address is typed into Maps the directions are accurate, but not if sent via coordinates from RoadWarrior. This happens maybe 5% of the time and is easily corrected (so long as you have a driver that is paying attention!). **What problems is RoadWarrior solving and how is that benefiting you?** Manually entering and configuring routes within Google Maps took forever, but we are so small it didn't make financial sense to sign on for one of the fleet management routing services. The optimization is faulty whereby it says you're out of network when it can't seem to calculate your route and times out because the algorithm takes too long. I don't like that there's a max cap of optimization. They give you a limit on how many times you can optimize per day. I've reached the cap too often and the team tells me not to over use the optimization, but creating a good route to maximize my time for my job is essential. I don't like how the optimization process sometimes send you far away from a location that is right next to the location you're at. I think in general, the optimization process needs to be improved. I think traffic might need to be included as a real time eta...but not necessary. You must have a network connection for optimization in the mobile app. Our optimization algorithm does take into several variables including historical traffic data. Your chosen navigation app that syncs to the RoadWarrior app will provide those real time turn by turn directions. We do have a single device limit for each Flex user, however you can add another user account to be able to be logged into the mobile app and web app at the same time. I have 2 drivers I use it for, every week I input their routes, verify and add or remove any sites, and I then assign the date it's for and I send the updated route to each driver. Before, it would take me 2 days to get the mapping and scheduling done manually. 2 full work days. Now, it takes me about 3 to 5 hours to create a weeks worth of routes for the 2 guys. This has saved me a lot of time, and the guys like it too. I like that I can add notes to each site, that it optimizes either the fastest or shortest way, and after I do that, if certain sites have specific times the driver has to be there, I can manually move the site to where I want it on the list and then calculate the time. I have not had to use any customer support yet, which is pretty great. I have been using RoadWarrior for about 3 months. It took a few tries to get the hang of it, but it is pretty easy to use. I have received emails from customer support letting me know they are available if need be. The export tool is nice as well, however it does export some useless data you don't really need that takes time to delete. It was not difficult implementing the app to each guys work phone and showing them how to use it. **What do you dislike about RoadWarrior?** I wish I could compare routes. For example, I'd like to compare each guys towns and site placements to see if I need to switch any of the towns for the guys due to location. I don't like that when the guys do their daily route, it doesn't automatically like check off the site they get to. My staff both are Spanish and English is NOT their strong suit so when I explain to them to please make sure to hit the like button indicating they got to the site on their app each time, they don't really know what I'm talking about. So I manually set the routes status to complete at the end. I also don't like that if it is a business location, the business name doesn't come up itself, I have to name the site myself. **What problems is RoadWarrior solving and how is that benefiting you?** RoadWarrior is solving the route planning problem. Before, I'd have to find the sites manually and map them out myself and then create a list of getting to each site starting at the shop and returning to the shop. Now, it is much easier. I copy each route days route for the new ones for the next week, and I then verify each site, add or remove any new or old ones. (I run a portable toilet rental company.) I then optimize the route, I then assign which day it is for, and I then send the updated route to each guy. The old way would take up to 2 days. When I first started there was another routing website called optimap and life was good. It was free and I was able to enter unlimited stops and it would generate the best route. Then it became too expensive for them to maintain so it got shut down. After that I scoured the internet for a replacement but all the other sites were charging an arm and a leg. I started using mapquest but you can only add up to 26 stops and its not the easiest to use. Then I finally came across Road Warrior and have been extremely happy since the day I started using it, It is well worth the monthly fee for me. And, you can use Waze or Google maps at your choice. Accurate maps as a result. **What do you dislike about RoadWarrior?** Not user friendly until you've learned it. Difficult to learn how to load routes from spreadsheets and save them . Couldn't figure out how to save and I lost routes as a result. Menus are not intuitive. The word "save" does not appear anywhere on a menu, so I lost work. If you've completed a portion of a multi-day route And you want to review the completed locations in order, it loses the numbers on each Completed location icon. Even when I worked in the Postal Service as a mailman, there would be addresses that didn't pop up on the maps or would be misleading; Roadwarrior, however, uses a special map sysetm for accurate properties in fine detail and easy finds. Don't like that I would have to have 2 subscriptions in order for the driver to have it on his phone. So we screen shot it and print the page. Basic plan shoudl come ith schedualer and 1 driver as a group and then add drivers from there.
