Because of that, I sometimes have to download my edited podcast just to add and post custom graphics. Riverside is a strong recording platform, but there are several areas where I think the experience could be substantially improved for serious, ongoing podcast production. The UI/UX can sometimes feel more complicated than it needs to be. Recording, editing, producing clips, managing files, and organizing episodes do not always feel like parts of one seamless production workflow. I would like a clearer project-based interface where everything associated with an episode—recordings, scripts, edits, graphics, transcripts, clips, approvals, and exports—is organized together. Integrations are another limitation. For a production team, Riverside should feel less like an isolated recording application and more like the center of a larger production ecosystem. Deeper integrations with cloud storage, podcast hosting, YouTube, social platforms, project-management systems, creative applications, and automation tools would reduce the amount of manual work required after recording. In terms of performance, reliability is extremely important because recordings cannot simply be recreated when something goes wrong. Subscription pricing is easier to justify when the platform replaces several other tools. If producers still need separate applications for advanced editing, graphics, social-media production, project management, publishing, and other post-production work, the overall cost of the workflow increases quickly. I would like Riverside to provide more production capability within the subscription rather than requiring an ecosystem of additional paid services. For support and onboarding, I would like to see a more hands-on experience for professional users. Instead of simply teaching users where features are located, onboarding could help someone design their complete production workflow—from pre-production and recording through editing, approval, publishing, promotion, and archiving. Finally, AI/intelligence is probably the area with the greatest opportunity. AI should go beyond transcription, summaries, captions, and identifying clips. From scheduling podcasts, to editing, hosting and distributing, the tool set has everything I need to run my show. My workflow is pretty straightforward. I use the planner tool to schedule my interviews. When it comes to recording, I have had great luck with both the quality of the audio and the video. And in all cases, the media correctly uploaded to Riverside for editing. The editing tools have what I need. Within an hour or two, I can add bumpers, sound beds and clean up the interviews. I find the tools simple to use. A game-changer for me is the AI audio sweetening. With a simple request, Riverside EQs the episode and adjusts the levels. Amazing. Once the episode has been produced, I add my show notes and an art, and with a click, the content is uploaded to YouTube, Amazon, Spotify and Apple. I lived in the mountains for about 100 episodes, and sometimes the internet would be intermittent. On more than a handful of occasions, Riverside saved us from having a great conversation that was never aired. One episode in particular I thought was a total loss, but because our files were auto-saved to the cloud, the episode aired smoothly, and no one would EVER know there was any problem to start with. I've watched the software progress as their user interface has gotten more intutitve and the additiions to their features are always nicely well done and seemingly made from someone who is actually a user. Plus the monthly price it's a no brainer for all the features you get on top of the recording platform. I found (through a lot of research and trial-and-error) that if the video is more than about 7 GB in size I needed to compress the video to a smaller size first before uploading. Over the 5+ years I have hosted a weekly podcast, I have used 4 different recording platforms prior to Riverside. While each one had features I liked, only Riverside had everything I wanted, plus rockstar customer service. And, Riverside just keeps adding more features and enhancing both quality and ease of use. I love that the editing is started and the magic clips are created for me for social media. It's so superior to any other recording system! It doesn't integrate directly to calendly, but Riverside showed me how to get it connected. Now it automates it for me so all of my podcast recordings and webinars are a breeze! Their pricing is comparable to Zoom for so much more value. It replaces an employee. I edit my own hour long podcast in about 90-120 minutes and really like the results. Then, I use clips of that which Riverside automatically sorts by subject and scores for their effectiveness. I can even use AI to adjust my video so eye contact is direct! The magic sound seems to take all the background noise out that my microphone and studio don't filter and makes it sound more dynamic. I 'am a walking billboard, telling everyone about how effective it is, how powerful it is, how cheap it is, and how simple it is to use! I just want them to make all my software now! **What do you dislike about Riverside?** Nothing. truly. I have used Zoom, Teams, and Streamyard, among several others. And the editing tools for both audio and video let me edit visually by text or by audio. I love that I can control the audio for both channels so if someone interrupts the other, I can mute that in post. It prevents me from having to hire a editor to keep my small business and podcast moving forward. Because it also generates images from the podcast and clips for shorts and reels, I'm able to get the free exposure on social media to build interest in the episode before it's released. I also love that I my Riverside Studio has a dedicated URL, so I'm able to send recording links to my studio guests without having to manually pull unique links. **What do you dislike about Riverside?** While Riverside has a ton of fantastic and incredibly helpful features, I'm afraid it has been incredibly unreliable over my past year of use. The time I've saved with their amazing editing tools and copywriting has been overridden by time spent troubleshooting and fixing things. (Not sure if their R&D team just doesn't exist, or is too busy developing new features without smoothing out existing? This signals too-rapid business growth, so they need to slow down a beat to take inventory.) I have had issues where I go to edit or export tracks, and I'm simply unable to. Imagine spending time recording or editing your episodes then trying to get them to the next stage, and suddenly there's an error! More frustratingly, the software is unclear about the errors, so either A. nothing will happen when it's supposed to, or B. a random error message will appear without further context, so you have no idea how to fix it. It's also impossible to find where all of my uploads live, so I don't know where that media is, and there is no way to better organize it. It is difficult to get a hold of a human through their AI chatbot. And, when I am able to get a hold of a human, it's a 50/50 chance that they will actually fix the problem in a timely manner. When I've asked for partial refunds to at least compensate for a fraction of the time that I've spent having to fix their buggy issues, they just point back to their terms of service, which to me shows that they cannot guarantee their product. Customer support has been lackluster overall. Initial setup of Riverside could have been smoother. There are technical specs that needed to be set up, and there was very little guidance on how to do that. So, I made a lot of mistakes that could have been prevented with simple UI info markers. Because Riverside is so unreliable and buggy, I'm afraid to move my show hosting onto Riverside, even though Riverside has that capability. **What problems is Riverside solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use Riverside to capture video and audio for my podcast and edit the show.
