What do you like best about RIB SpecLink?

Generally, the software works pretty well and makes printing an entire project pretty easy. Customer support is strong. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about RIB SpecLink?

The base specifications are not great, but over time you can customize to work with your needs. The interface is pretty painful. Seemingly simple things like formatting are quite bad. For example, it's nearly impossible to make the header and footer of your document match another consultant's example because the formatting is very primitive. Printing is often a game of trial and error. And formatting margins is robust, but very time consuming and completely counterintuitive. Customer support is good, but often results in them being unable to solve a problem with the core programming. I use the web version and wish we hadn't transferred over. I probably wouldn't use their product without some of the core design being fixed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about RIB SpecLink?

Speclink allows a specified to manage specs efficiently, making sure the relevant specs are included. Maintaining consistent formatting is a plus. Access to manufactures specs is helpful. What do you dislike about RIB SpecLink?

Sometimes formatting can be strange, especially if something abnormal is required. Getting users that are accustomed to other spec software can be a challenge. SQL setup may require a consultant to assist in the install. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about RIB SpecLink?

I really like the fact that the program does not only provide you with very clean specifications but it also allows you to learn and customize your specifications. For example you can have the ASTM standard numbers linked to their website and learn what each of them mean, making sure you are always up to date. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about RIB SpecLink?

Something that i am struggling with but not necessarily dislike is the fact that specs now start smaller and you add to them section by section. Beforehand it was a reductive process, were I started with a huge set of specs and took out what i did not need in the project. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is RIB SpecLink solving and how is that benefiting you?

The program allows you to make your specifications more interactive. They allow you to use drop down menu selections for materials and specific details that can be done in different ways. i think this is very valuable to make your specifications project customizable without missing a thing. This makes spec writing faster, efficient and streamlined giving you time to worry about the details that matter and make the project different from the others.
