I mostly use Canva and Gemini's text-to-image feature for blog post thumbnail generation. Canva is better as it has the option to also set up your brand guidelines. The Gemini output needs rework most of the time.

I experimented with Midjourney and DALL·E for thumbnails, but for blog use, they felt a little overkill. They are great tools, but I mostly needed something simple, fast, and on-brand, and that was actually harder to get consistently than I expected. It took more time than it was worth.

For those of you using AI image tools for blog graphics, do you stick with the free tiers or pay for premium plans? Curious if the paid versions really give you noticeably better quality or speed for everyday content work.
