"Fast Onramp in a Complex Use Case"

What do you like best about Quickbase?

Quickbase is incredibly useful for our business case since it allows non-technical users to function as developers very quickly. We have numerous users who need the ability to spin up small project applications, and are able to do so quickly and with minimal technical training. This allows us to integrate our many complex systems and existing solutions really seamlessly, without contracting externally or hiring dedicated developers. We've also had great interactions with our service reps and the Quickbase team as whole, they've been responsive and helped us find solutions to problems we couldn't solve ourselves. Quickbase hasn't been in our process that long yet (2-3 years), but has quickly become a daily driver for our team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Quickbase?

The largest hurdle that we experience regularly with Quickbase is the lack of official development resources. The Quickbase development community (the Qrew) is really helpful in this area, but there's often not a specific resource that can be found about the types of issues we're trying to solve. This has previously led to our team thinking that they were trying to do something impossible within the platform or that a certain feature did not exist even though Quickbase was capable of solving the issues they wanted it to. What problems is Quickbase solving and how is that benefiting you?

Prior to Quickbase, a huge amount of the complex work we do (aviation industry) existed in the form of thousands of spreadsheets. This resulted in huge problems when someone would move on from the organization, or simply forget where they had saved a particular sheet. What do you like best about Quickbase?

The ability to customize information and capabilities throughout the business, and tailored to a widely dispersed employment base. Always accurate and dependable.

What do you dislike about Quickbase?

The helpdesk. More often than not, when a case is submitted, it takes a long time for the support after the first interaction. I recently had a scenario where I published an updated app from the sandbox, but I could not find any documentation on migrating the sandbox pipeline to the production app. The person had to go research it themselves. A day or more when by and I finally figured it out on my own and let the tech know.

I simply felt that the pipeline helpdesk crew should have known the process or point me in the correct direction - they did not. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Quickbase?

Quickbase is straightforward and easy to use, even for someone like me who is self-taught. I was able to build three apps before I even met with a trainer, and it has been a good tool for organizing and centralizing our processes. I like that it allows us to keep everything in one place instead of needing separate apps for communication, inventory, and other tasks. That is a big deal for us because we are a small but growing company, and we do not have the time or resources to juggle multiple systems. What do you dislike about Quickbase?

Our biggest issue before Quickbase was communication. We run two shifts in our chemical manufacturing facility, and information wasn’t always getting passed down properly—things like equipment issues, inventory levels, or what stage a batch was in. We started with paper forms, but they were not cutting it. With Quickbase, we have been able to create apps that help us track and share this information more effectively. It has made communication between shifts a lot smoother, which is something everyone here appreciates.

Another benefit is having everything centralized. Before, we were using different tools for different tasks, and it was a hassle. Now, we can manage things like inventory and production tracking all in one place. It has also helped us keep up with our growth. When I started here, we had around eight employees; now we are at nearly 50. Quickbase has made it easier to scale without adding unnecessary complexity. That said, I am always looking for ways to improve what we have built. I am self-taught, so I know there are probably better ways to do some things. "Quickbase has changed the game"

What do you like best about Quickbase?

Quickbase works for me because it’s simple to use and feels intuitive, especially since I’m not an IT guy—I’m an accountant. It’s similar to Excel in how I can visualize and build processes, which makes it easy for me to create what I need without needing a coder. I also like that it’s flexible. I can build something that fits exactly how we run our business, and if we need to tweak it, we can. It’s not a one-size-fits-all solution, which is important for us. Another thing I appreciate is how Quickbase lets us manage everything from the point of sale to the point of swinging a hammer. What problems is Quickbase solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before Quickbase, we were using Google Sheets, which caused all kinds of issues. It wasn’t secure, and it wasn’t built to handle the complexity of our business. At my previous company, we used a Microsoft Access database, but that required hiring someone with specific expertise to maintain it. Quickbase has been a great middle ground—it’s more secure and capable than Google Sheets but doesn’t require a dedicated coder to manage.

With Quickbase, we’ve been able to streamline our operations. It manages everything between the sale and the start of the job, which has made our processes much smoother. It’s also helped us as we’ve grown. For example, we’re splitting our business into two divisions, and Quickbase makes it easy to separate and manage those workflows. We’ve even built a second app specifically for one division, which we can also use as a template for other companies in our dealer network.

The biggest benefit is that Quickbase gives us control and flexibility. We can adapt it to fit our needs, and it’s helped us run our business more efficiently. It’s also a tool I can recommend to others in our industry because I know it works." Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Quick Base has helped us set up a database outside of our main project, providing a reliable solution for systems that experience longer periods of downtime. What do you like best about Quickbase?

I like how helpful everyone at Quickbase is. If you are struggling with something within your app everyone has been ready to help however they can. I love being able to use the QuickBase university to learn more and put it to use in my current application. What problems is Quickbase solving and how is that benefiting you?

We use Quickbase to track sales-related information like accounts, activities, and group bookings. Before Quickbase, it was harder to keep everything organized and accessible for the team. Now, we can store key details like contact information and other sales data in one place, which makes it easier to stay on top of things.

One area we’re looking to improve is contract management. Right now, we’re using Teams and Word documents for contracts, but it’s not ideal. It’s hard to keep track of everything, especially when different salespeople have their own files that aren’t shared. If someone leaves, we lose access to their contracts, which creates issues like quoting the wrong rates or losing important details. What do you like best about Quickbase?

Quickbase is very user-friendly and easy to adapt to, especially compared to other platforms I’ve worked with like Salesforce. Salesforce is a huge system with a lot of complexity, and I think it would have been much harder for a beginner to accomplish what I’ve done here if we were using that. Quickbase strikes a good balance—it has the flexibility and features we need without being overly complicated. I also like the drag-and-drop usability, which feels similar to HubSpot but with more functionality. The Quickbase Hours and FastField Hours sessions are also really helpful for learning and troubleshooting. I’ve been able to interact with the team there, and it’s been a great resource for someone like me who’s still learning the system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Quickbase solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before Quickbase, a lot of our processes were manual and inefficient. For example, we used to rely on Excel for intake forms, which meant customers would fill out the form, and then someone on our team would have to manually input that data into the system. It was double the work and prone to errors. With Quickbase, we’re working on automating that process so the data flows directly into the system, which will save a lot of time and improve data accuracy.

We’ve also made structural changes, like introducing a parent-child hierarchy for opportunities, which has helped us better organize and manage our data. Previously, everything was in one table, and it didn’t reflect the dynamic workflows we deal with. Now, we have a parent table for overarching opportunities and child tables for specific options, which makes it easier to track and report on things like pricing and customer requests.

Quickbase has also helped us automate processes like lead-to-opportunity conversion and creating pipelines for approvals. These automations have reduced manual effort and made our workflows more efficient. For example, we’ve added validation rules and filters to ensure data hygiene, which is critical for accurate reporting.

Overall, Quickbase has allowed us to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. It’s been a big improvement over the manual processes we had before, and it’s flexible enough to adapt to our unique workflows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
