OnPlan has a very shallow learning curve. It maintains our team's expertise working with GSheets but provides powerful value with their database and directly connecting to NetSuite, Salesforce and BambooHR. We can also continue to update our model directly in Gsheets without worrying about it not matching with our OnPlan model since they're one in the same. As a non-profit, planning by project/program and fund is crucial. OnPlan makes updating the model for changes like funding delays or employee allocations much easier than Gsheets alone. It's also easy for my dpt leaders to provide inputs and manage their monthly budgets much more independently without reliance on my team for access to information. From a product and support perspective, there aren't many negative things to say. The onboarding and customer support teams have been great and helpful to work with. I didn't have familiarity working with a multi-dimensional database, so that took a bit of time to adjust to, so the full implementation took a bit longer than I'd hoped. Overall, well worth it. OnPlan is totally customizable for every department, expense category and balance sheet category. Multiple scenarios can be created with different data to compare results. As the periods are completed, actual results can be entered and the model updates in real-time.

Time factors for revenue recognition, cash collections and AP payments are editable. Prepaid exoenses track both cash outlays and expense recognition.

Multiple ways to model expenses. For example: actual amounts per period, amount per employee, last year's actual average + x%, trailing 6-month average + x%, etc.

Implementation and Support services are excellent. Resources are overseas but seldom need to wait more than a day for a response. Resources are top-level - there has never been a need to escalate a case to a more experienced resource. There has seldom been an extra charge for building something new or customizing something after implementation. When there was a charge, it was extremely reasonable. OnPlan is the 2nd product we tried to implement. We moved from Centage, which was too hard to learn and navigate. With OnPlan, I love that we can continue to have our model work interchangeably with GSheets. The spreadsheet formulas give us the flexibility we need and OnPlan provides the guardrails, data management, reporting, scenarios and integrations. They made a large (and impressive) product enhancement last year and the team was quick and attentive to make sure I was fully benefiting from the update.
